Welcome one and all to the offical Draft Thread for the 8th Junior World Hit Festival! Due to take place in Nightton, Natanya, this is the thread in which you all can post and edit your entries in the oncoming weeks. You will have until 6th December 2020 to get your entry complete and fully updated on this thread, ready for it to be transferred by me over to the IC Thread, once it opens. You must have a "complete" entry by the deadline, but will have 24 hours of a grace period to make RP updates as the IC Thread is being made. Information on what classifies as complete is below.

You are free to format your entry how you would like to, within reason, however there will be one cohesive header for all entries to use. I shall provide you with said header below, which will include the basics of your entry as well as some optional extra RP information like the IC songwriters. In addition, as the host I am permitted to make minor RP edits to the beginnings and ends of the performance in regards to extra IC information, but will not change any of the major RP completed within the entry.

The host reserves the right to make alterations to your RP when copying it over to the IC thread. However, these alterations will be limited to cleaning up the formatting as well as adding (not deleting) RP regarding the situation in the arena (i.e. how the audience reacted). Substantial/major alterations will not be made without written permission, and any further changes to an entry within the IC thread will only be done upon written request by the user behind it, and with host discretion.

Deadline Calendar
(Calendar subject to updates)

Sign-ups Open - 9th November
Opening of Draft Thread - 22nd November
Sign-ups close - 29th November
Closure of Draft - 6th December
Voting Deadline - 13th December

Additional Information

Running Order: Yet to be decided

RP Information: Information to be used for your RPs can be found in the host package on the OOC and www.worldhit.net threads. These posts include information about the host city, host arena and stage that may be useful to be used in your background and staging RP. If one would like som extra information not provided in these posts, or just has a general question about it, feel free to ask via the OOC thread, a telegram or a Discord message.

Complete Entries: In it's technical definition for WHF, a "complete" entry on the draft thread is a useable tune and a full set of lyrics. This means the minimal needed for your entry to be classified as postable on the IC is the link for your tune and your full completed lyrics by the deadline on December 6th. It is highly suggested and encouraged that you try and flesh out your performance with RP, including staging directions, artist RP and background information. While this cannot guarantee you a higher amount of points, it does show the WHF community that your entry had effort and consideration put into it, while also helping the wider contest to appear more complete and consistent.

Headers: Below is the code for the header of your entry, please copy this, fill it out with the relevant information and place it at the top of your draft thread post. Every entry shall have this text header on their posts along side the graphic header, helping to give the IC thread consistency as well as giving an alternative to the images. The headers are fairly simple to fill out, more-or-less mirroring the sign up forms on the OOC thread. "#" is a placeholder for your yet to be revealed running order number, I shall change this when I transfer the entries over to the IC thread. The extra RP information of you IC song writers and composers is not mandatory, but is encouraged to give a more complete experience.

Yves Beltønd - "To the Sky (Rétür)"

Title Translation: To the Sky (Golden Dreams)
Language(s): English, Nortender
Tune: Taeyeon - "I"
Lyrics: Yves Beltønd, Olivia Beltønd
Music: Yves Beltønd, Olivia Beltønd

ARTIST INFO

Image
Yves Beltønd

Born on December 2, 2005 in Brockton, Standale County, Rhim Flavezztowland (one of Flavezztowland City's suburbs), 15-year-old Yves Beltønd is an indie Flavezztowlander singer from an established middle-class family. Having witnessed the murder of her father, Johnny Beltønd, when she was 12, she is currently being raised by her mother, Giselle Beltønd (née Johnson). Besides singing, she's in favor of preserving the Nortender language due to it being her native language and its cultural connections to where she was born.

Yves's older sister, Olivia Beltønd (born on August 7, 1999), is a songwriter and music producer who currently attends the prestigious Somerlot Institute of Music in Kirwick County, Rhim Flavezztowland.

SONG INFO

"To the Sky (Rétür)" was written and composed mainly by Yves Beltønd herself, although her older sister (Olivia) helped with the composition and arrangement of the song, as well as with the English lyrics in the chorus. Yves Beltønd stated in an interview on the FTV2 primetime variety show Knowing Citizens that the song was mainly inspired by her own dreams, memories, and imagination, and that it's "a lively song [...] that inspires teenagers like [her] to feel good".

Lukas Ríos - "Señorita"

Title Translation: Young Lady
Language(s): Spanish, English
Tune: Abraham Mateo - Señorita
Lyrics: Martin Johannsen, Érica Palomo
Music: Martin Johansen, Benito Valdéz, Kianna Lee Ortega

Image

Lukas Daniel Ríos Velázquez was a three-time Achaean national youth gymnast winner from the city of Santa Ana, Zacatecas, who moved to the city of Ampolla in Southern Corola near Corola City in order to study at the National Gymnastics Academic Center for a scholarship. Strongly supported by his parents—and especially his father who, once got over the fact that his son was never interested in baseball or basketball, but rather convinced that gymnastics is also a “manly” sport that can net him some money—, he was on the way to train and perform in time for the next Panamerican or Olympic Games, or even the Cirque du Soleil, his ultimate dream. At fourteen years old, Ríos seems to have achieved success in artistic gymnastics, learning the discipline and flexibility required for achieving peak performance in the pommel horse, the still rings, and the vault. He also had a soft spot for acrobatics with his friends.

It so happened that a gymnast friend of Lukas’ was recording him singing Mach & Daddy’s 2004 reggaeton hit Pásame La Botella (“Pass Me The Bottle”) during some after-break practice. Needless to say, his friend’s TikTok became viral—not just for Lukas’ newfound singing talent and impressive lyrical flow, but also naturally good looks. While the fact that a fourteen-year-old was singing an old reggaeton song about self-pitying drunkenness from a time he was even born, it earned him a new avenue to explore: entertainment. In a few weeks, he was invited by AS1 to audition for La Voz Kids Acaya, the nation’s hit musical franchise and de facto national selection for Junior World Hit Festival. Predictably enough, he passed the blind auditions and got to choose Team Manamma as her coach (how did Manamma end up coaching in a kid’s show is anyone’s guess). Regardless of questionable casting choices, Lukas’ charm led to quickly amassing a number of followers on his way to fame.

He didn’t win the competition—that honor was voted on to a corolana named Yenifer Solís—, but was invited by the AS1 World Hit Festival to represent the Achaean Republic once again in the Junior World Hit Festival with Señorita (“Little Lady”), a catchy pop song with infectious grooves and delicious Latin beats. Twice they performed at the contest and hosted it most recently, ending in fourth place at each respective edition. But as they readied themselves to Natanya, they were confident that they would be able to improve upon those performances and net their very first victory.

Once the stage was illuminated, there were three children standing in each platform: two boys and one girl in the center. The boys were dressed in plain-color T-shirts and blue skinny jeans with stylish sneakers, while the center girl had a puffy skirt and red leggings with big curly hair and a T-shirt with glow-in-the-dark stars and planets. Around them, the stage glowed with red neon colors that made the scene look futuristic, yet anachronistic given the modern-day clothes they were wearing. While perched carefully from their stands and trying to dance, they were careful not to fall or make a false move—for this reason, they had unseen harnesses tied to their waists as a reminder not to push too hard, and somewhat-invisible bars that they could hold on to. The platforms were moving up and down, so it was important to give them a double measure of safety.

Below them, two more kids were dancing. This time, there were two girls on the left and right who looked quite similar to the one perched up in the platform: this time, however, they had glow-in-the-dark T-shirts with cute dinosaur or cupcake designs and Sketchers sneakers that also doubled as skates. So very carefully they switched from sneakers to skates that it looked like they were gliding in one moment and walking the next. But they kept active, keeping their movements to the beat.

Suddenly, Lukas jumped from the center screen and did a somersault that was recorded by the eagle-eye camera and a full shot of the screen. (Remember, he was a talented gymnast before he competed in La Voz Kids.) He wore acid-washed jeans with some holes in it and a red Lacoste shirt with a New York Yankees baseball shirt (the Yankees were his all-time favorite baseball team, and he always wanted to see them play). In his neck, he carried a scapular with the knitted image of the Virgin of Candelaria, Achaea’s patron saint. He also had shiny Sketchers sneakers with smaller wheels he could turn on and off. In short, he looked fly.

For the first part of the song, he shimmied from left shoulder, and then the right shoulder as if he were shaking off something in there. He hopped from the left side of the stage to the right, with both cameras and the top lights following him. In the foreground, the three platforms were descending in slow but steady intervals, with the dancers slowly releasing themselves from the harnesses off-screen. Meanwhile, Lukas was feeding off the young crowd’s energy—and he would need to, for the Achaean entry was performance-heavy, and he would need as much energy as he could muster for the song.

Oh, qué bonita, que bonita estás
¿Quieres tirate un paso a bailar?
No tengas miedo, vamos a vacilar
Aquí no hay hora para terminar
Desde el principio, en la hora escolar
Cerca de ti yo quise almorzar
Oh, qué bonita, qué bonita estás
Yo te quiero enseñar un paso más

The camera then focused on the stage with Lukas in the middle and the other five dancers around him (with sufficient social distancing). The camera on rails glided from left to right, focusing on Lukas while the dancers were performing in the background. Their movements were spontaneous, yet quite erratic, each of them having fun moving their young bodies in their way. One of the girls raised her hands and made a little skip. Another boy placed his body in an angle, carefully perched with his feet on the ground so as not to lose balance and fall. But Lukas pointed at the camera and also had his fun.

Mira
Me gusta tu belleza, la delicadeza
Es grande tu presencia (yo no sé por qué)
No seas testaruda
Ven únete a la rumba
Sé que quieres

Without missing a beat, Lukas threw himself to the back of the dancers as if he were doing a trust fall, with the dancers promptly catching him before he fell. Unbelievably, this was a dangerously risky move to pull off without losing the beat of the music and ruining the integrity of the performance. Once they got him back up, Lukas quickly jumped and pulled a split to the floor as he sang the chorus. (remember his gymnast training). The camera turned into a wide pan, where Lukas was quietly buried by the presence of the young and cheering flag-waving audience. Behind him, the dancers pulled off some moves (as shown between 00:05-00:20 here), working towards enticing the crowd and feeding off their energy.

Linda señorita, vamos a bailar (Dale, vámonos)
Hasta que termine la fiesta
Tira, fotos busca textos a bailar (Dale vámonos)
Un beso y una sonrisa
Disfruta de la vida
Let’s go

Vámonos, vámonos
Vámonos, vámonos

As Lukas repeated the first part of the song again, the five dancers got into a line and began making the same identical moves as in the beginning. From the last dancer to the front, Lukas pranced from the camera from the right to the left for the first few lines, and then from the left to right for the second takes. The idea was to create a symmetrical effect cascading blending with the scene. Then, another camera angle would zoom out and rapidly tilt downwards to the group, (safely) congregated and more than ready to have fun. They were krunking. They were pop-and-locking. One of them even tried to spin around his head, showing off his athletic prowess to the captive crowd—and more so to one of the girls he developed a fleeting crush to while in practice.

Oh, qué bonita, que bonita estás
¿Quieres tirate un paso a bailar?
No tengas miedo, vamos a vacilar
Aquí no hay hora para terminar
Desde el principio, en la hora escolar
Cerca de ti yo quise almorzar
Oh, qué bonita, qué bonita estás
Yo te quiero enseñar un paso más

Once again, the on-rails camera focused on the stage with Lukas in the middle and the other five dancers around him (with sufficient social distancing).

On the beat, there was Lukas performing a backflip while singing the chorus, as the dancers behind him kept repeating the moves they did before. It was impressive to see Lukas’ dexterity while performing and singing at the same time, without losing concentration, charm, or patience. He pulled a split and placed his feet as if he were moving himself in the uneven bars. Behind him, the dancers were jumping, splitting, and dancing with the crowd. It was important for the delegation to enjoy the interaction with the public, feed its energy, harness and embrace it. It would give them more than enough strength to continue towards the final third of the performance.

Linda señorita, vamos a bailar (Dale, vámonos)
Hasta que termine la fiesta
Tira, fotos busca textos a bailar (Dale vámonos)
Un beso y una sonrisa
Disfruta de la vida

Un beso y una sonrisa
Disfruta de la vida
Let’s go

After the music briefly stops and then changes tune, an eagle-eye view of the stage showed Lukas in the middle of the five dancers, stretching their arms and legs to make a star formation. In another camera angle, Lukas was holding tight to his microphone and extending the top part of his body as far away from his center as possible without losing balance, his feet firmly planted on the ground the way a trained gymnast would do. The dancers, meanwhile, would link their hands and move their extremities up and down as if they were doing snow angels on the ground. However, because the stage floor did not have LED screens, the delegation decided to make the LED screens look like a sparkling night, the neon rings change color to a milky white, and focus the light on Lukas. The handheld camera circled around him.

Tú me gustas, te gusto y me gustas así
Vamos bailar despacio, quiero verte felíz
Ven señorita
Eres mi amiga

For the final part, Lukas once again did a split and was carried over, trust fall-style, by his dancing crew. They all engaged in the same dance, clapping their hands and stomping their feet, trying to emulate Lukas’ movements in unison. As a team, kept enticing the crowd to have fun, bringing the best energy they could offer to the performance. They were growing tired, yes, after hours and hours of hoarse voices, tennis elbows, Bengay, Vick’s VapoRub and bergamot, screaming delegations, masks and COVID-19 restrictions, and a frazzled delegation trying her best to fulfill ethical restrictions stipulated by the WHF headquarters.

Linda señorita, vamos a bailar (Dale, vámonos)
Hasta que termine la fiesta
Tira, fotos busca textos a bailar (Dale vámonos)
Un beso y una sonrisa
Disfruta de la vida

Let’s go

They were fatigued. They were tired. They had energy, but they spent it all on the three minutes of a lifetime. Their tiredness was palpable. But so was the smile of satisfaction in their faces.

¡Gracias!,” said Lukas to the audience as the audience cheered on for the Achaean entry. “Thank you! Thank you so much!,” he repeated while his dancers also waved to the crowd and quickly ran out of the stage for the next entry.

Oh, how pretty, how beautiful you are
Want to take a step and dance
Don’t be afraid, let’s have some fun
We have no hour to stop
From the beginning, during school time
Close to you I wanted to have lunch
Oh, how pretty, how beautiful you are
I want to show you one more step

Look here
I really like your beauty, your delicate features
Your presence is big (and I don’t know why)
Don’t be so hard-headed
Come and join the party
I know you want to

Beautiful young lady, let’s come and dance (Come on, let’s go)
Until the party’s over
Throw some pictures, send some texts
Let’s go dance (Come on, let’s go)
A kiss and a smile
Come on and enjoy life
Let’s go

Come on, come on!
Come on, come on!

Listen to the music now!

We'll show you now!
Let's sing this melody now!

One, two, three, four, five
Don't you hear this melody?
It's the sound of music that gets stuck in your head
Time to dance to this new beat
Now is your big chance to get your body movin'
It's now or never for you to step in
Oh, de geso!

Our song's come to an end (No, it hasn't...)
Music's language is good (Yo!)

Aurora Australis - "Boom! Boom! (Just a Girl)"

Language(s): English
Tune: Beatrice Egli - Bunt
Lyrics: Aurora Australis
Music: Aurora Australis

Image

ARTIST BACKGROUND

Aurora Australis

Image

Aurora is a 14 year old school girl from Silver Wattle Bay.

She is a good student, conscientious, hardworking and respectful.  Achieving respectable grades.

In her spare time she enjoys hanging out at the shopping centre with her friends, singing along to her favourite Natanyan hits and watching the sky looking for little green men.

Aurora wrote this song after a bullying incident in her school.

"As the boys were picking on me, I imagined myself as a superhero." Aurora says, describing how she came to write the song.

"I imagined myself fighting back and being strong and I wanted to tell everyone they could be strong too.  Bullying is not okay and people need to stand up to bullies".

"So when I got back home from school that day I just decided to sit down and write a story about being strong and it turned into a poem.  So I thought I would turn it into a song".

"Then I showed my dad and he thought it was really good.  Then I saw the TV wanted songs for JWHF and my dad said we should sent it.  So we did and it got chosen. And now I'm very happy."

"My friends at school were really excited as they hoped they would get to be on TV.  And even the boys at school started to be nice to me."

"Now I'm getting to go abroad to Natanya to sing my song and its super exciting.  I love visiting new places and I love Natanyan music so I'm really looking forward to it and I'm not nervous at all."

"I really like Julia Togeyvo's song from last time.  It was very energetic and it had lots of excitement.   I watch her performance on YooHooTube all the time and my friends and I know all the dance moves.  I wish I could be just like her".

BOOM! BOOM!

Aurora will be on stage wearing a large baggy jumper, baggy trousers. thick rimmed glasses... looking like quite the nerd.

Joining Aurora on stage will be two girl backing singers Carina and Andromeda and two boy dancers, Orion and Perseus.

The girl backing singers will be dressed one in red and the other in a blue dress.

The boy dancers will be dressed as American football players with helmets and oversized shoulder pads.

PERFORMANCE

The stage is flooded with lights and the rear LED screen is set to a cyan blue colour.

As the music begins, Aurora stands centre stage and Orion and Perseus  begin to 'play' football around her.  Throwing the ball across the stage, jumping around and generally acting like cads.

All the boys, big and dumb,
Never know how to relax, have fun.
They just kick their balls around,
Never seeking higher ground. No.

As she signs the preceding verse, she shrugs and dismisses the boys as immature and silly.

The boys act offended and hurt and, during the following verse, pretend to push and shove Aurora.

They always pick on girls like me,
Pull my hair and say I'm ugly,
Why do they act so jealously?
It clouds their eyes so they can't see,

As she sings the final line Aurora throws off her thick rimmed glasses and the boys pull of her baggy clothes to reveal Aurora now wearing a superhero outfit in red and blue emblazoned with the letters SG (for SuperGirl) on emblazoned the front with a golden cape with the same monogram across the back in red.

I have super powers!
Watch me fly, knock down your paper towers!

As she sings the bridge, a cartoon drawing of Aurora flies across the rear LED screen, and as each 'Boom' of the song is sung, the LED screens will 'explode' with a cartoon style  explosion and the word 'Boom!' (In a similar way as to the single cover artwork above)

Boom Boom! I am just a girl!
Boom Boom! Come and see me twirl!
Get back! Get out of my way!
Boom Boom! I'm not just a girl!

As she sings the chorus, Aurora has a pre-planned choreographed routine.

For each 'boom', Aurora flashes her hands open at the side of her face as though its an explosion.

When she sings 'i am just a girl', Aurora points at her self and quickly tilts her head to the side.

For 'come and see me twirl', Aroura twirls once.

For 'get back, get out of my way', Aurora pushes her hand directly forward and steps forward

For 'I'm not just a girl', Aurora wags her pointer finger to sat no, and shakes her head.

The backing troupe also does the choreography.

Boom Boom! I am just a girl!
Boom Boom! This, here, is my world!
Stand back or I will attack!
Boom Boom! I'm not just a girl!

As she sings the second part of the chorus, Aurora's pre-planned choreographed routine continues.

For each 'boom', Aurora flashes her hands open at the side of her face as though its an explosion.

When she sings 'i am just a girl', Aurora points at her self and quickly tilts her head to the side.

For 'this here is my world ', Aroura points to the floor and nods her head firmly

For 'stand back, or i will attack', Aurora makes a fist and pretend punches forward

For 'I'm not just a girl', Aurora wags her pointer finger to sat no, and shakes her head.

The backing troupe also does the choreography.

As the chorus ends, the backing troupe peels away from Aurora who is now left alone, centre stage.

As the backing singers sing the next line, Aurora does a superman pose and the stage floor begins to rise.

Come on! Watch me soar!

As she sings the following verse Aurora stands firmly and proudly upon the stage in a strong victorious pose.

All my friends know I'm the one,
Stronger than your strongest punch. Oh yeah.
Try and cut me with your words,
I'll just throw them back at all you nerds.

As Aurora sings the line is "all you nerds" the boys cower and play scared.

Aurora's on stage presence continues to grow as the stage continues to rise.

I have super, super, power, powers!
Come on watch me soar!

By the end of the bridge, Aurora is now a full 15feet above the main stage on her platform.

During the following chorus the choreography routine is repeated. With the LED screen "Boom Booming".

Boom Boom! I am just a girl!
Boom Boom! come and see me twirl!
Get back! Get out of my way!
Boom Boom! I'm not just a girl!

Boom Boom! I am just a girl!
Boom Boom! This, here, is my world!
Stand back or I will attack!
I am more than just a girl!

As this following, is sung, the stage begins to lower to return back its starting position, and it will do so by the end of the chorus.

So strong!
Not wrong!
Where I belong!
Better days!
Hundred ways,
to sing this song!
Up and down,
Over and under,
Twirl me around,
Hey, come on watch me soar!

Again, the choreography is repeated for the following choruses.

Boom Boom! I am just a girl!
Boom Boom! Come and see me twirl!
Get back! Get out of my way!
Boom Boom! I'm not just a girl!

Boom Boom! I am just a girl!
Boom Boom! This, here, is my world!
Stand back or I will attack!
Boom Boom! I'm not just a girl!

Boom Boom! I am just a girl!
Boom Boom! This, here, is my world!
Stand back or I will attack!
Boom Boom! I'm not just a girl!

With the stage now reset, the backing troupe return to surround Aurora as the closing Boom!s occur.  They dance around her throwing their hands the air with each boom.

All the LED screens in the stage will show the word Boom one at a time as the following is sung.

Boom Boom Boom!
Boom Boom Boom!
Boom Boom Boom!
Boom Boom Boom!

Aurora appears comfortable in her performance and smiles as the Booms continue.

Boom Boom Boom!
Boom Boom Boom!
Boom Boom Boom!
Boom Boom Boom!
You know I'm more than just a girl
Boom Boom Boom!

As the the final Boom! Is sung, Aurora and the Backing troupe face the audience and thrust a hand to sky.

Aurora and her troupe join hands  and bow politely waving to the audience as they run of shouting "Thank you Nightton".

(The venue was roaring for the North Alezian team. The stage was pitch black like any actual North Alezian performances. The team stood up at their respective places. Hayda stood up at the front part, while Anna sat on her piano seat preparing her piano situated at the right side of the team just behind Hayda, On the left part stood Alqi, Mila, and Hazel. And behind all of them on a bit higher platform is Hafeiz preparing his drum with the writing 6D1D plasted on the kick drum)

(One overhead light shines above Anna as she played the first tune. The camera walks around Anna playing her piano. Then another instruments join in as the lights shines above each and every member except for Hayda , this time viewers get to see a split screen of Hafeiz, Anna, Hazel, and Mila. With Alqi joining the split screen with the others screens being smaller.)

(When the last drum note is being hit, the view changes to show the entire stage, and the main venue screen shows an animation in black-and-white style (somewhat similiar to the Malta 2020 JESC animation style but much more simpler) of six children running like they're trying to get something. This animation continues to play until near the ending. Seconds later, the view immediately zoomed out that you can see some parts of the audience. The lights got crazy, and finally Hayda gets her spotlight. For the first verses, the camera focused on Hayda.)

انا عندى حلم (innaa eandaa hulm)
أتساءل ما هو حلمك؟ ('atasa'al ma hu halmuk?)
وهل ستترشح لها؟ (wahal satarkud min 'ajalaha?)

هل لديك حلم؟ (hal ladayk hilm?)
وهل ستقاتل من أجلها؟ (wahal satuqatil min ajlha?)
أتساءل عن ذلك ('atasa'al ean dhlk)

(For a few seconds of instrumental, the camera view changes to a steadicam behind them, showing the entire team playing their instruments, and Hayda holding on to her standing microphone. The view immediately returns to point at Hayda who was holding her microphone stand)

(The view changes for a split second to show the aerial view of the stage, which then changes back to view Hayda singing for a small second before changing to a steadicam.)
لان يا صديقي (li'ana ya sadiqi)

(The steadicam walked from the left side to the right and while in the middle, the steadicam person decided to walk around Hayda while pointing his camera around her, which Hayda proceeded to face the camera and rotated in direction of the camera and spreading her left hand like wanting to grab the person's hand while looking at the camera even though she only rotated 90 degrees to the left, which she returns to face the front again. After completing his 360 degree view, the steadicam person continues to point the camera at Hayda and walks to the right)

الوقت يمر (alwaqt yamuru)
الخيال يحكم العالم (alkhayal yahkum alealam)
استمر في مطاردة أحلامك واستمر (aistamara fi mutaradat 'ahlamik waistamara)

(after "waistamara" was sung, the view changes to a close up of Hayda again and for a small second Hayda might look like she is "throwing" nothing to the audience, but in TV, it's more obvious that she is throwing something invinsible but gives a special video effect of the screen being broken with pieces of the "screen glass" thrown at the direction of the viewer. from that throw. However, the screen immediately transitioned with a view of all band members playing their instruments)

الحلم ممتع (alhulm mumatae)
الإنجاز ممتع (al'iinjaz mumatae)

(The view changes back to a far view of the stage, which getting closer frame by frame zooming to Hayda, with the zoom finally stopping when she sung "satuksib hilmuk")
أضف هذا وذاك ، إذن ('adifu hdha wadhak , 'iidhan)
ستكسب حلمك (satuksib hilmuk)

(Hayda took her microphone off the stand, and runs from the front part of the stage to the middle to join her friends. After that run, she sung the verse while pointing her right hand at herself, before flicking it upwards to the sky for the reff. Before the reff, every light that was pointing at the other team members was shut off, leaving the only light to Hayda)
اريد تحقيقه ('urid tahqiqih)

(The camera zooms out as quickly as possible and the previously turned off light was turned on again with the addition of other lights ravaging the stage, the steadicam walks around again, this time pointing the view at other team members from Anna, to Hafeiz, to the trio on the left side which consists of Hazel, Mila, and Alqi. Before running back to Hayda, who is still singing with her microphone separated from its stand. Before the instrumental, the camera stops moving with the view closing up on Hayda to sung that last sentence of a Reff.)

(The view changes to the furthest camera which shows the entire stage in full. The overhead lights went crazy with all lights other than the ones pointing at the group members flicking around speedily. Hayda spreads her two hands while the others continue to play their instruments for a few seconds of instrumental)

(Hayda stopped spreading her hands and returning them to the initial position, walks back to the front part of the stage, and returns the microphone she has been holding to the microphone stand. The view changes again to show a close-up of Hayda singing)

(The view changes to show the entire stage. On the viewer's screen, they can see balloons flying on the outside perimeter of the stage, immediately at "hal tafahm", Hayda points her finger at the audience as if she's saying "Do You Understand?")

(hal tafahm?)

(After the last sentence, the viewer get to see Hafeiz adding in a few drum beats before once again returning the view to the steadicam. Once again, The steadicam walked from the left side to the right and while in the middle, the steadicam person decided to walk around Hayda while pointing his camera around her, which Hayda proceeded to face the camera and rotated in direction of the camera and spreading her left hand like wanting to grab the person's hand while looking at the camera even though she only rotated 90 degrees to the left, which she returns to face the front again. After completing his 360 degree view, the steadicam person continues to point the camera at Hayda and walks to the right. After that, Hayda takes off her microphone off the stand and once again walked to the center.)

الوقت يمر (alwaqt yamuru)
الخيال يحكم العالم (alkhayal yahkum alealam)
استمر في مطاردة أحلامك واستمر (aistamara fi mutaradat 'ahlamik waistamara)

(The view changes into a split screen showing every member playing their best with their instruments, few seconds before the reff, the lights flicked on and off very quickly.)
الحلم ممتع (alhulm mumatae)
الإنجاز ممتع (al'iinjaz mumatae)
أضف هذا وذاك ، إذن ('adifu hdha wadhak , 'iidhan)
ستكسب حلمك (satuksib hilmuk)

(After that splitscreen, The camera zooms out as quickly as possible, showing the entire stage plus parts of the audience, then we changed scenes, the steadicam walks around again, once again pointing the view at other team members from Anna, to Hafeiz, to the trio on the left side which consists of Hazel, Mila, and Alqi. Before running back to Hayda, who is still singing with her microphone separated from its stand. Before the instrumental, the camera stops moving with the view closing up on Hayda to sung that last sentence of the Reff.)

(The view changes to the steadicam which closes up to Hazel playing his bass, which immediately swished to Hayda at the same time as all lights being turned off, except for the overhead light over Hayda and some lights situated out of the main stage, which moves up and down very slowly, and the stage is decorated with rain effects with also smoke and fog effects. At the screen, the kids in the animation apparently stops running to found six blue balloons, and wondering what is that blue balloon is for)

(All light suddenly turns on showing all members of 6D1D, with the view changes to zoom as near as possible to Hayda from the spidercam away, as every "ooh" was sounded, the camera zooms slowly but steadily. At the last long "ooh", Hayda faced upwards holding her microphone near to her mouth)
أوه ، أوه ، أوه ('awh , 'uwh , ''uwh)

(The screen continues the story of the animation, where all six kids grabbed one balloon each and they flies to the sky with it. On the way to the sky, the screen shows behind-the-scenes of 6D1D recording the song. The camera changes to the steadicam who shows all the members, and then changes the view to Alqi who was rocking his best with his electric guitar, during the last tune, the lights slowly turns down again, only leaving the overhead lights of Hayda and Mila (the accoustic guitar) with Mila walking to the center to join Hayda with the camera changing views to show the two specifically. TV viewers can see an animation where a white star flies around Hayda and Mila. The screen animation shows the kids stopped flying upwards now that they're now flying in the skies, and the backdrop for the animation returns to the normal black and white)

(After that duo, the view transitioned with an animation of the same white star swinging blocking the view which changes the scene to show the entire stage once again. The moment all instruments rejoin again, all lights got turned on again, and the rain effects is changed with a fire pyrotechnic. Mila returns to the left rejoining the trio, and Hayda continues to sing while jumping and raising her hand. The screen animation changes to show the kids on screen returning to land and waving at the balloons which flies away.)

(The view changes once again closing-up to Hayda pointing her finger at the audience again. The screen animation changes to draw the 6D1D logo)

امسك يدي الآن ('amsik ydy alan)
سنحقق أحلامنا (sanuhaqiq 'ahlamana)
سنحقق ما حلمنا به لفترة طويلة (sanahaqiq ma halamna bih lifatrat tawila)

(The camera zooms out slowly which followed by a transition which is followed by another split screen of all six members, with Hayda raising her right hand. The final animation shows a process of someone writing the word حلمي. The word is completed when the last instrumental tune is being played. The screen went pitch black afterwards. )
آه ، حلمك ، حلمي (ah , halmak , hilmi)

(Seconds before Hafeiz played the last drum tune, the screensplit ends and Hayda points at the screen. The song ends, with North Alezian fans getting crazy inside the arena. All six members shouted "SIX DREAMERS ONE DREAM! SYUKRAAN KASIIRA, THANK YOU!". Other members joined Hayda at the most center part of the stage, which all six bowed to the audience and waved their hands as they went to the green room.)

I have a dream
I wonder what's your dream?
And would you run for it?

Do you have a dream?
And would you fight for it?
I wonder about that

I would always dream
When I can do anything
Where I can fly free

Follow your dreams
The world supports you
Go and keep going

Because, my friend

Time's ticking
Imagination rules the world
Keep chasing your dreams and keep going

Dreaming is fun
Achieving is fun
Add this and that, then
You'll earn your dream

I want to achieve it

My dream, oh, my dream
I want it
Even though it might be hard

Your dream, oh your dream
Achieve it now
If you're tired
Just walk slowly

Are you sad
Are you feeling confused
Slow down but always keep on

I don't understand as well
How the world continue to test
Those who try to achieve

Don't feel sad
If you fail to try
Keep going
You can do it

Don't feel sad
You have to go on
Walk then go and run
Do you understand?

Time's ticking
Imagination rules the world
Keep chasing your dreams and keep going

Dreaming is fun
Achieving is fun
Add this and that, then
You'll earn your dream

My dream, oh, my dream
I want it
Even though it might be hard

Your dream, oh your dream
Achieve it now
If you're tired
Just walk slowly

I have a dream, you have one as well
We must achieve all of it
It's fine if you're changing direction
As long as you continue chasing it

Would you help me achieve it?
I would help you achieve it
I won't give up

Oh, oh, ohhhh

I want to achieve it

My dream, oh, my dream
I want it

You want to achieve it

Your dream, oh your dream
Achieve it now

I want to achieve it

My dream, oh, my dream
I want it
Even though it might be hard

Your dream, oh your dream
Achieve it now

Hold my hand now

Stumbled upon a lot of young and talented artists, they finally choose one song that they seems deemed fit for the competition. The song is sing by Diana Eka, 15 years old Pemecutanian singers. Born in Darmasaba, Mengwi State, Diana was former Pemecutan Stars Junior finalist. She join the fifth edition of the competition when she was just 12 years old. She become the runner up in the competition. She continue to focus on her study meanwhile she finished recording the compilation album of the competition. The song is written and composed by a well known couple, Mila Anjani and Antonius Huda. These husband and wife was known as a former member of "Picturesque", a pop rock band. The band have been disbanded even though it quite successful in their time. Mila Anjani then become solo singer. Accompanied by her husband, Antonius Huda, both are always involved in project together including several motion picture soundtracks. Today the couple have been off the spotlight but they continue to create many songs for other artists.

The song Senja Temaram (Twilight) is a soft pop song that describe about the waning of a day when the sun is set and the moon is arise. Nocturnal animals started their lives while Diurnal animals have to go to sleep to wait for the next day to come. It is really a simple song but the word selection and the composition makes it special. The singer will be challenge with the vocal range and vocal management to keep the song as soft as possible. Even though the last part of the song have a higher note but the singer will have to control his/her vocal power so the song remain calming and soothing. Diana Eka whose sing the song have to do several takes during the recording before she can control her voice when she sing the last part of the song.

THE PERFORMANCE

The host take control of the show after the last performance while Diana Eka is preparing herself at the backstage. She is wearing navy blue high-low lace dress with 3/4 sleeves. Her hair is left flowing with big curl at the tip. The make up is made soft to make the natural feature shine out. As the host called out for Pemecutan entry, the postcard is shown at the big screen while the stage is darken for a moment. Diana Eka walk into the stage. She stand at the center with a standing microphone in front of her.

The sound of the piano opening the song's intro. Diana take a deep breath before begin to sing the first verse. She stand still at the center of the stage while the large screen show a calming dance color of blue, green, orange, yellow and red. The colors hue danced along accompanied by the music of the song which flowing rhythmically. She puts a soothing voice to begin with. Repress her voice power to give a calming vibe. The camera take a full frontal of her before closing up to her until it show the portrait features of her. It shows her face's expression during her singing.

Saat waktu bergulir
Tanda hari akan berganti
Semburat warna jingga
Hiasi ufuk barat
Bulan datang mengejar
Sang surya pun terbenam
Bintang pun menghiasi
Terangi langit di gelap malam

Entering the second verse, the note is slightly higher and she release some of her voice power. It gives a grip to her singing intonation. Her voice power getting more stronger from the mid into the end of the second verse until it is cut out. The headlight keep showing her standing position while most of the stage is left darken. Kunang kunang berkejaran
Menarikan irama alam
Sayup sayup pun terdengar
Bisikan dari dedaunan
Langkah kecil burung kenari
Merapat ke dalam sarang
Meninggalkan malam yang gelap
Sambut fajar hari baru

A piano sound can be hear clearly as the bridging between the first and the second part of the song. Diana repeat the first verse. She have to repress her voice again. Giving a soothing and calming vibe as words of the lyric flowing from her lips. Her fingers are dancing away, making a wave movements. That simple gesture is capture by the camera. She press some of the words, making the articulation can be heard clearly.

Saat waktu bergulir
Tanda hari akan berganti
Semburat warna jingga
Hiasi ufuk barat
Bulan datang mengejar
Sang surya pun terbenam
Bintang pun menghiasi
Terangi langit di gelap malam

Beginning the repetition of the second verse, she sings slightly higher. Releasing some of the power to give a harder intonation for each of the words that she sings. For the last part, the second verse is repeated once again with a higher note than before. She gives a full power to her power which makes the words getting another deep intonation. Her articulation becomes more clearly heard as the intonation getting deeper. The first part of the second is also sing more fast than previously before suddenly become slower than usually. A quick change of rhythm which she can manage nicely. This makes her smile beautifully as she sing the last part of the song where there are a note changes before it fade out. She smile again after she successfully conquered the last part of the song.

Kunang kunang berkejaran
Menarikan irama alam
Sayup sayup pun terdengar
Bisikan dari dedaunan
Langkah kecil burung kenari
Merapat ke dalam sarang
Meninggalkan malam yang gelap
Sambut fajar hari baru

Kunang kunang berkejaran
Menarikan irama alam
Sayup sayup pun terdengar
Bisikan dari dedaunan
Langkah kecil burung kenari
Merapat ke dalam sarang
Meninggalkan malam yang gelap
Sambut fajar hari baru

A light piano sound delivered the song into its end. The clapping sound can be heard throughout the venue as Diana bowing for the acceptance of her performance. The host again take over the show introducing Diana Eka once again before she walks back to the backstage.

As time rolls around
The sign of the day will change
Orange tinge
Decorate the western horizon
The moon came in pursuit
The sun went down
Stars also adorn
Light up the sky in the dark of the night

The fireflies chase
Dance to the rhythm of nature
You can hear the faint sounds
Whisper from leaves
Little canary steps
Come into the nest
Leaving the dark night
Welcoming the dawn of a new day

Raja Aswinraj is a fifteen year old young singer and beginner playwright from Dhaulapura, Indusse. Born to Ustad Raja Shivanaraine and Gayatri Devi as the Heir Apparent of Kishengat Royal Family. He has been singing Religious Songs and Bhajans for the Trimantran Ashram and has song over 97 songs in the Indussean Movie Industry.

SONG INFORMATION
As the English Translation of the name suggests, this song is about The Sea or mainly a large water body. The song describes the ailing of the Marine Animals as if theyre describing their hardship due to logging of toxic chemicals and far to thr ocean and destroying their habitat. The Cite and Young Voice of Aswinraj adds a good feeling to the large problem talked here. The Song is written by Arjun Shah in the language of Malayalam and the English Translation doesn't make much sense but the Malayalam lyrics creates a great sense of sympathy that slowly turns into a feeling of empathy.

Tabitha Green (13) - "'Superhero"

Tune: Dami Im- Paper Dragon
Lyrics: Johanna "JoJo" Garrison, Tabitha Green
Music: Jayden Van Brooke, Kiain Lincoln

The winner of the third-ever Vha Mehlodhivestoile Euvenoures, Tabitha Green (13) is to represent Britonisea at the upcoming Junior World Hit Festival in Natanya...

At the 7th Junior World Hit Festival, it was announced that Britonisea would not participate due to the Festival being rather ill-timed after the unexpected reappointment of the Overseership amongst other things. Britonisea withdrew with the hope to return to the edition afterward, hoping that the Festival would be held in the fall. Britonisea's relationship with the Junior World Hit Festival has been one of close finishes and disappointments. Whilst there isn't as much on the line as the adult competition since it is only a children's competition, BVC does want to complete it's a triple threat for the country; winning the World Hit Festival, WorldVision, and the Junior World Hit Festival - something that only a few nations have achieved. BVC has been very close to securing the title of the triple crown at previous Junior World Hit Festivals. Looking back at the Junior Festival, the 4th and 6th editions resulted in Britonisea coming 2nd place - with the country now being the nation that has had the msot runner-up positions at the Junior Festival. When paired with the adult edition, Britonisea has 7 2nd placements; something that Britonisea is quite proud of but left many with the words "what if" in their heads. Seeing as the two previous times Britonisea came 2nd it was due to the entrant being selected via the National Final, Vha Mehlodhivestoile Euvenoures, BVC decided to bring the contest back to select the next representative.

Tabitha Green opened the contest, performing first in Semi-Final One in what was a tough Semi. Out of those who participated in the Grand Final, the top three was in Semi-Final One which meant that for Tabitha, she knew that qualifying from Semi-Final One would be a massive achievement. With the split results of the Semi-Final not being known, we don't know how well Tabitha Green did, but she qualified which BVC said that for a children's competition was enough. Come the Grand Final, for her, two weeks later, she recorded her performance during the week for it to go "live" on Saturday. This year, the broadcaster decided to record all the performances and play them as VTs to make it seem as though every performance was live. Tabitha had her own Greenroom back in her home city which she would be live. As the points came rolling in, this year all the points were done in a similar way that they're going to be done at the upcoming senior Vha Mehlodhivestoile just to test how everything would look like. With 10 acts participating in the Grand Final, The International Jury was asked to score out of 10 with the average score being the number of points given by that nation. The score would then be moderated and equaled to the number of points being given out by the Britonish Televote. The International Jury votes were the first to be announced, with Tabitha Green's "Superhero" being announced as the winner there, by it wasn't a clear victory. Penelope Leon was hot on her heels, being only two points behind her. Third place, however, was a fair few points away. As the Britonish Televote came through, despite Arlo James winning the Britonish vote (The Britonish Televote never seems to agree with the International votes), he didn't receive enough points to topple the big two, Penelope and Tabitha. As Noah and Grace's points were announced, Penelope then received a total of 54 points - which put her 51 points ahead of Tabitha. Would Tabitha receive 52 points in order to win Vha 3rd Mehlodhivestoile Euvenoures? Indeed she did - 55 points, giving her a total of 124 points - enough to win the right to represent her country at the Junior World Hit Festival!

The young thirteen-year-old had the weight of her country on her shoulders with a song that she could be proud of - her team was sure that she would receive nothing but success at the Junior World Hit Festival. At the Festival, she was drawn to perform in the 2nd half - something that doesn't come to Britonisea a lot. The broadcaster then decided that Britonisea would perform 12th; before North Alezia and after Todlichebujoku. She woke up to this news excited about the upcoming Junior World Hit Festival. She was more excited that she would finally get to perform her song live in person in Natanya, with her plane ready to leave for the hosts soon after this announcement. This year, Britonisea would be broadcasting the Junior World Hit Festival on their main channel, most probably because of the shifts in shows due to the pandemic. It is expected that over five million would be watching the Junior Festival, much more than previous editions.

During the postcard: The stage personnel in Natanya setting up the stage for Britonisea...

After the performance of Todlichebujoku, it was the turn of Britonisea to perform at the Festival. Not only Tabitha, but the whole delegation was nervous about the performance - they wanted to make sure that Tabitha was comfortable on the stage and did well throughout the performance. Tabitha, herself, had many different emotions going through her head at the moment. She was ready to slay on the stage, but she was nervous that she would mess up during the song. She knew that this time, even though she got gone through practise before, this would be the first time that she would perform competitively to a live crowd, with millions watching at home. Britonisea won an award for the best staging at the previous senior World Hit Festival and that was something that Britonisea wanted to carry over into the Junior World Hit Festival - even if there wasn't any awards happening here.

As you could see from the above image, there was different triangles which took up the whole width of the stage which would be in front of the LED which was in the back. The triangles had horizontal stripes along them which would be used with great effect during the performance. Tabitha wore something rather simple, the colour of light red which contrasted with the blue mountains behind her. As the postcard finished and the floor was tidied ready for the performance, there was a huge round of applause for Britonisea. It was time for Tabitha to shine on the stage. The song begun with the sound of clock sounds. The camera was out of focus, slowly moving down onto Tabitha who was watching the camera as it came down and gained focus. The backing singers could be heard singing the "ooooo"s. Tabitha took a deep breath and smiled as her time to sing had finally arrived. The colours around her were a deep, dark blue with her surroundings slightly whiter. All you could see in the background was the blue mountains, with the LED behind her being of a starry night sky.

ooooo, oooo
So, are you lost?
Can you not find a way out? Shout for me.
Fighting baddies,
Do you need some back-up, up, up, up,
Just call my name, I'll be there in no time at all!

Doesn't matter if you're far or if you're near...
I'll be there...
Doesn't matter if we're friends or if we aren't.
I'll be there in spirit, close your eyes, you'll see...

During the first section of the song, Tabitha was very much standing on the middle of the stage, singing out towards the audience with things happening around her which brought the performance alive. During the first verse, the camera that had come down on her was the one that focused on her for the full duration of the first section of it. There was then another camera that caught her eye now slightly to the left of her. When she sang the word, "I'll be there", a camera from the right-hand side caught her, but Tabitha was still looking out towards the audience with the camera she was looking at being the one that was live after that line. As she sang the final line of the verse, she smiled before doing a 180, with a steadicam looking at her from behind. You could see the audience behind her, waving their torches and whatnot. We then went into the pre-chorus of the song...

As she sang the lyrics, "I'll do anything for you", the screens behind her slowly faded into a pinkish colour, while the mountains slightly gaining a lighter blue tint. The audience at home could see this as the steadicam circled around Tabitha to show the background. Gone was the stars in the sky also, with the staging looking a lot happier and child-like. The steadicam man ran off the stage as Tabitha belted the "I want you by my side", moving her head back, and hoistering her arm high up into the air.

I'll do anything for you, oh I'd climb great heights, swim the seven seas, I want you by my side

I’ll be your super, superhero...I will,
Protect you with my magic powers
In sunshine or rain.
I’ll be your superhero, I’ll save the world.
Leave it to me, yeah, you will see,
How great I will be.

As the camera moved out from a mid-shot into a wide angle shot with Tabitha being the centre of it, there was sparkles of yellow "dust" being sprinkled onto the screen (that was a graphic) as the seven circles above the stage turned into a sun-like yellow hue which made the staging seem sunnier. Tabitha was holding herself back her, only swaying from left to right as she was singing the song. The first chorus to her went by quite quickly as she was only singing the refrain once this time around. The cameras was the ones doing the job here, with the lighting not doing much during the first chorus. Though, this would be about to change as we moved into the verse. As the next verse started and the strips on the mountain started flashing on and off with asynchronicity, which looked rather nice further away. To maximise this effect, the brighter colours that we once saw on the stage during the chorus temporarily was dulled down, with a nice rich purple taking centre stage on the LEDs in the back - but fear not, the brightness in the stageing would come back.

Being honest, you're the one who means the most...most to me
I hold you close to my heart, I do.
I'd hate to see you hurt, dear.
I'd do anything to...

As we moved back into the pre-chorus once again, the purple started to turn into pink which went into a bright blue colour - similar to the colour we saw during the first chorus. There was a shot of Tabitha on the staging singing out into the audience, with her cutesy expressions on her face showing her youth, innocence and hope that she would do well at the Junior World Hit Festival. She felt as though this song made her strong just like the superhero she sings she is. As she sang "swim the seven seas", she made a swimming movement with her free arm before there was a shot which zoomed closer and closer into her face right before the chorus. The screen temporarily went back before we were at the furthest point of the arena as you could see the stage light up with the bright blues, yellows and pink that you saw earlier on.

Make sure you're alright.
oh I'd climb great heights, swim the seven seas so you're near.

I’ll be your super, superhero...I will,
Protect you with my magic powers
In sunshine or rain.
I’ll be your superhero, I’ll save the world.
Leave it to me, yeah, you will see,
How great I will be.

As she sang the first section of the chorus, she gripped the microphone with more power as she gave a tad more vocal ability during that chorus, teasing the audience with her full range. You could see that she was very comfortable on the stage - she wasn't as nervous as she felt before and it great she wasn't nervous because she was smashing the performance according to the Britonish Officials that were watching her. It was now time for the bridge section of the song, which for loads of Britonish performances, is the make or break of the performance...

I'd be your superhero, I'll come and save you, save you, dear
In sunshine or rain, I'll be there, I do not care!
I'm your superhero!

I'll be your super...your superhero!

The lights went dark in the arena with the lights above her sparkling white due to a little camera technique that the Natanyans did. The crispy clear image focused on Tabitha Green very close by. We had a close up shot of Tabitha as the audience invited in by Tabitha as she almost whispered the secret that she will "come and save you". As the bridge went on a bit longer, the camera slowly zoomed out, but there was a light on her chest, with a gobo on it which was cut out into a supergirl sign, with the name "TABITHA" over it. You could see this sign also behind her on the LEDs not covered by the mountain right in the centre of the stage. Tabitha slowly turned around as the camera moved to the side of her to view this beautiful supergirl logo etched with her name behind it. She turned back to the camera before there was a further away shot of the logo being brightly lit amongst the dark background.

As we moved into the final chorus of the song, the supergirl logo exploded across the screen, with the colours from the logo exploding onto the mountains as well which lit up in multiple different colours. The LED behind her was multiple different colours as well, swirling around the stage. Colourful confetti started to fall from the sky too as geysers shot up from the sides of the stage. The audience cheered as the logo exploded and the stage lit up once again.

I’ll be your super, superhero...I will,
Protect you with my magic powers
In sunshine or rain.
I’ll be your superhero, I’ll save the world.
Leave it to me, yeah, you will see,
How great I will be.

I’ll be your super, superhero...I will,
Protect you with my mag-ic powers,
In sunshine or rain.
I’ll be your superhero, I’ll save the world.
Leave it to me, yeah, you will see,
How great I will be.

During this last section before the end of the song, the camera zoomed into her face as she shook her head from side to side, taking in one last breath before she finished the song. You could hear her backing singers a lot more as Tabitha started to ad-lib over them. The staging slightly went a bit darker as we moved into the final few bars of the song.

Just call my name,
I’ll be there, I’ll be, I’ll be there.
Oooooh, Oooooh
Leave it to me, yeah, you will see,
How great I will be.
Leave it to me, yeah, you will see,
How great I will be.

As she sang the final "leave it to me, yeah, you will see" the lights started to flicker on and off along with the beat of the drum behind her. Tabitha started to march with her fist up in the air as she sang, marching along with the beat of the drum. There was a shot behind her, with her hands still up, of many people in the audience copying her movement of raising her fist in the air. The last shot was a quick zoom out from the front of her, with the supergirl logo behind her once again; with the colour being sucked out from the stage quickly. There was then one last explosion of pyros behind her before the audience came in with a huge cheer. "Thank you everyone, thank you all!" she jumped into the air before she was joined by her two backing singers. It was now time for North Alezia to jump on the stage!

Daniel Gant (16) - "Danser Avec Moi"

Language(s): French, English
Tune: Anton Ewald - Begging
Lyrics: Daniel Gant, Jacques Martin
Music: Geordain Gross, Slimane Tempest

Estogium's seventh Junior World Hit entrant: Daniel Gant will represent Estogium in the upcoming Junior World Hit Festival with a French-English uptempo hit, "Danser Avec Moi"...

With Estogium being the nation with the most amount of consecutive participations at the Junior World Hit Festival, you would have thought that the nation would be bossing the Festival. However and unfortunately, that most certainly isn't the case. The nation placed 6th at the most recent Junior World Hit Festival which by far was the country's best score but they want to go further and they hope that sixteen-year-old Daniel Gant could bring a victory of some sort to the shores of Estogium. Daniel is from the capital of Darlington, with his parents being from further North hence why he can speak French which is Estogium's third most spoken language and third official language after English and Britonish. Estogium has had a history of sending French at international song competitions with this edition being yet another French song to the nation's catalogue. The head of RVC, the broadcaster for this edition, has said that they would like to start showing the French side to Estogium much more as its a part a lot of international people seem to forget about. They said for future Junior World Hit Festivals they will try to add it in as much as possible.

The song was a much more upbeat and funky song that the songs before it and despite being rather earlier on in the running order, the Estogians were hoping that this would play to their favour. Daniel was a little showman. He's got the young looks, the charms and the dancing ability to make the performance fun and exciting for those watching his performance. He was probably one of the oldest, if not the eldest participating at the Festival. He knew what he had to do on the stage and that was to wow his audience. After the postcard played, we could hear the songs techno-sounding instruments coming. All you could see was Daniel appearing from nowhere, with the silhouette of his body being what you could see with smoke appearing from behind him. You could see Daniel being joined by four other boys that flanked him - all of whom were of his age or a bit younger. They were all dressed in torn leather jackets with bandanas around there heads, with white shoes and red or white trainers. Their look was young and cool, but also appropriate just in general and in terms of the song. Before he started to sing, the boys which was on either side of him clapped twice along with the claps in the backing track. The lights flashed along with the claps along with the quick changes in camera shots.

I feel the rhythm pumping all through my veins,
I cannot control where my feet are heading.
But it looks like I am coming your way, oh well
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"

Oh, tu mettre ma cœur de feu, j'ai besoin d'eau
Look at me distracted, look what you done
I got a two-step going, hope you like it
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Dire moi...

As he sang the lyrics "tu mettre ma cœur de feu", he slightly slid backwards as the backing dancers around him (who also had microphones on them and so were singing the sections in between), were doing their little cool dance movements which I'm sure many of the girls watching - or the closeted boys enjoyed watching, flames shot up into the air for a split second, before the backing LED showed a wave of water which, using VR, flushed out the whole stage and into the screen. Daniel ducked down before an aerial shot was shown of Daniel laying down on the floor with one arm behind his head. He sang up towards the camera with the boys next to him appearing to mimick his actions. We then moved into the chorus, with Daniel turning around and slowly getting up. Fog started to form beneath him as he slowly moved upwards with a cheeky boyish smile on his face.

Avant d'aller
Voulez-vous danser avec.. vous danser avec moi
Une fois encore
Voulez-vous danser avec.. vous danser avec moi

Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Voulez-vous danser avec.. vous danser avec moi
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Voulez-vous danser avec.. vous danser avec moi

As he sang the French chorus, the boys which flanked him were clapping and jumping in the air with Daniel trying to hype the crowd up as he sang the first bit of his song. As we move into the "Dire moi" sections, pryos shot up into the air in multiple colours before the lights started flashing along with the beat of the song. The camera slowly moved in from far away in the arena, with the audience getting a slice of the high school musical prom style performance the Estoge were going for. Suddenly as we moved to the next verse, and heard the claps, we had a spotlight on Daniel who had the camera to himself.

Spotlight's on me, est-ce que j'ai votre attention?
I know you wanna dance too, yeah, you're vibing
Ne résiste jamais à la sensation, ouais!
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Oh no!

This was a rather short verse as he told the audience at home not to ever resist their feelings to dance. Daniel was moving his feet to the left and twisting it before repeating it with his right foot, doing it over and over again rather quickly as he sang the rest of the verse. Copying the real-life dance moves, he did a cute little step thing with his dance members behind him who all did it together before they all danced together for the rest of the upcoming chorus.

Avant d'aller
Voulez-vous danser avec.. vous danser avec moi
Une fois encore
Voulez-vous danser avec.. vous danser avec moi

Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Voulez-vous danser avec.. vous danser avec moi
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Voulez-vous danser avec.. vous danser avec moi

Danser Avec Moi
Just give me one more chance
Danser Avec Moi
To prove myself to you
Danser Avec Moi, dance with me, oh yeah!
Come on and give me one last dance!

During the breakdown, the stage simply turned dark with flashing lights behind them - with the camera going from person to person on the stage before we once again went into the chorus.

Ouais, ouais
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Avant d'y aller
Voulez-vous danser avec.. vous danser avec moi
Une fois encore
Voulez-vous danser avec.. vous danser avec moi

Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Voulez-vous danser avec.. vous danser avec moi
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Dire moi "oui mon cherie"
Voulez-vous danser avec.. vous danser avec moi

At the end of the song, the five of them all came closer together before screaming "Remercio Teis!" into the crowd, "Merci!" Daniel said again before walking off the stage.

I feel the rhythm pumping all through my veins,
I cannot control where my feet are heading.
But it looks like I am coming your way, oh well
Say to me, "Yes my honey"
Say to me, "Yes my honey"

Oh you set my heart on fire, I need water
Look at me distracted, look what you done
I got a two-step going, hope you like it
Say to me, "Yes my honey"
Say to me...

Before we go
Do you want to dance with...dance with me
Once more again
Do you want to dance with...dance with me#

Say "yes my honey"
Say "yes my honey"
Do you want to dance with...dance with me
Say "yes my honey"
Say "yes my honey"
Do you want to dance with...dance with me

Spotlight's on me, do I have your attention?
I know you wanna dance too, yeah, you're vibing
Never resist the feeling
Say to me, "yes my honey"
Oh no

Before we go
Do you want to dance with...dance with me
Once more again
Do you want to dance with...dance with me#

Say "yes my honey"
Say "yes my honey"
Do you want to dance with...dance with me
Say "yes my honey"
Say "yes my honey"
Do you want to dance with...dance with me

Nancy Grace - "Always"

Language(s): English
Tune: Karakat Bashanova - Forever
Lyrics: Nancy Grace, Esther Winterbourne
Music: Nancy Grace, Esther Winterbourne

Image

Nancy Grace (8), entrant for Llalta in JWHF7 and returning now in JWHF8.

Once again, Llalta returns to the Junior World Hit Festival in Nightton, Natanya after competing in both the 5th JWHF and the 7th JWHF, held in Tushlark, Togonistan and Urbania, Achaean Republic respectively. Throughout Llalta's 2 participations, placements have been inconsistent at best. Back in Tushlark, Olyvia Kingsington placed 2nd with her powerful ballad, "My World". With a dark and daring atmosphere, Llalta brought something never seen in the contest before and amazed the multiverse. After a one edition break, the tiny island nation returned to the contest in the Achaean Republic. This time, the LBN chose young starlet Nancy Grace to represent the country with her folky fun song that gave thanks to her parents, "To The Bestest Mummy & Daddy Ever!". After an arduous voting, she placed 9th out of 13 participants. However, Llalta's entries have been most enjoyed among fans of the contest and Llalta alike. From dark, haunting symphonies to folk, Llalta has done it all. Even though less celebrated and well known in terms of the world, the contest is very well loved amongst Llaltese, especially due to past successes. As a result, when the LBN announced that Llalta was not to participate in the 8th edition of the Junior World Hit Festival, many were shocked and disappointed in not being able to showcase the rising talent Llalta is producing in years of late. However, after a petition of over 2,000 signatures was signed (large considering the population of 3,136) and the LBN gave in.

However, finding an artist was harder than usual. Fortunately, former JWHF entrant Nancy Grace volunteered after advertisements were posted around the town, and the search for a song began. This time, Nancy decided to co-operate with Esther Winterbourne (Llaltese superstar and winner of WorldVision 83 as well as multiple other impressive placements at WHF and WV alike) once again, whom of which cowrote every JWHF to date. This song was to be no different. After searching for inspiration, Nancy eventually chose to write a song about her mother, who had "helped every day in quarantine." Together with Esther, the two decided to write a ballad, a Llaltese speciality by this point. While Esther often helped polish both the lyrics and composition, she stated that: "I mean really... it was her idea from the start, from the instrumentals, to the lyrics and so on... she's such a headstrong diva I really didn't have much of an input other than to polish up the composition and add the flare to make this entry stand out! When she's older, I can already tell she will be a talented singer-songwriter... she may even win WorldVision or the World Hit Festival when she reaches that age!" After a couple weeks, the song was finally released under the name, "Always", a dramatic and emotional ballad dedicated to Nancy's mother. The song has been noted as subtle yet still impactful, something almost good enough for WorldVision. The staging hopes to convey the beauty and brilliance of the song.

Nancy Grace is a 8-year-old student, born in St. Christopher, who loves the stage, even at her young age. Born on the 19th March 2012, she is said to be "one of the liveliest students in the class, and always willing to help out her peers!" according to teachers and is "the heart of the class!" She loves animals, her family, drawing, and playing on the beach. Her favourite subjects at school are Art, English and Science, and she says that when she's older she either wants to be a singer or an astronaut. If she seems familiar, the young diva also participated in the previous JWHF with the song, "To The Bestest Mummy & Daddy Ever!" where the song placed 9th. She really enjoyed being a part of the contest, hence why she chose to return one edition later. Her parents, Lila Grace and Aiden Grace, her mother being the subject of the song, are both supportive of her, no matter what she does and said, "She's a force to be reckoned with haha! I just hope she behaves well on the international stage!! Haha...."

The postcard ends, and the Natanyan arena quietens to a whisper. Finally, the lights turn to black as the Llaltese entry was to begin. Onstage, in the pitch black, Nancy was nervous. Though she had performed upon the Junior World Hit Festival stage before, she was still a little scared. And yet she was so excited to perform the song for her mother, hoping to do her and Llalta proud. Nancy Grace couldn't wait for the moments of silence and music to be over so that she could perform at once. At last, the music began, the soft piano illuminating the arena with sound. A single white spotlight lit up Nancy who stood centre stage. The camera taking wide angle of the stage, slowly zooming into Nancy's face, dimly lit in an angelic white. The shadows upon her face slowly faded as she raised her head, eyes closed. She opens her brown eyes, which glimmer in the lights of white, and they gaze off beyond the camera. She wore a long white dress, the train extending out beyond the view of the spotlight, as if the elegant white fabric cloaked and flooded the stage. At the bust, the dress had a flat neckline and two thin white straps. Apart from a small white forget-me-not bouquet brooch, her dress was simple and elegant. Her hair was braided around her scalp like a crown, intertwined with small white forget-me-nots, like that of a princess of nature. The rest of her sandy blonde hair however fell behind her, neatly tucked behind her ears, leaving her face, with light make-up, free.

As the camera zoomed in, Nancy brought the microphone to her lips and she softly sang the first verse, almost singing at a whisper. Her voice was soft and delicate, like a ballet dancer of song. Each breath trailing into the black of the arena. As the verse was sang, a small, subtle smile grew at her mouth, showing how thankful she was of her mum. So much so that even the thought spread a smile of a thousand suns across her face. The camera angles and the staging as of yet were simple, subtle yet making sure to highlight the emotional weight of Nancy's words. Each rose blush of her cheeks as she sang of her mother's heart and soul. As the verse ended, she placed her free hand upon her heart, nodding in approval. She looked lovingly into the camera once more, her eyes sparkling with joy, but a bittersweet one at that.

When nightmares wake
I fall and break
I clutch your palms and the dark fades away
Away
Fades away
The warmth of embrace
To light the days
Made me forget all the fears that I faced
I faced, I faced

A couple more lights shone upon Nancy and her dress of starlight, however rather than white a soft gold, illuminating her in a soft gold that is subtle enough not to strongly contort the white of her dress or flower accessories, yet still leaving much of the arena in total darkness. However, as the camera zoomed into Nancy once again, she began to look upwards, as if calling upon the stars. Her hand fell from her chest and back to her sides as the LEDs beside her began to light up, though subtle. At first, a couple shimmering stars began to twinkle upon the black screen, painting stories as they grew and grew in number. Eventually, shown by the camera which zoomed out to show the whole stage, the whole panel of LEDs were splashed with the flickering of stars, twinkling and shimmering like jewels on the simple black LED sky. Furthermore, with every other beat, spotlights dimly flash, though slightly delayed to create a sort of wave, softly lighting up Nancy and her dress in a soft blue, contrasting with the gold tinge that lights up each star and the soft gold that illuminates Nancy. Nancy begins to sing the bridge, a little tint of desperation in her voice as she sings her dreams across the multiverse. As the bridge draws to a close, her eyes fall to the camera which zooms into her face, stars dancing around her as her soft voice sings the lyrics of her heart.

And I'm wishing, I'm dreaming, I'm hoping that we'll be together
And I'm wishing, I'm dreaming, I'm hoping that we'll be forever

The chorus begins and the spotlights billow outwards, spreading silvery white and soft gold lights across the arena, the spotlights flaring the lens of the camera like stars in the night. At this point, it is revealed that Nancy's large dress nearly covers the entire stage, the fabric laid neatly flat. Upon the LEDs the starry scene beautifully painted continues to glimmer and sparkle. However, a splash of blue nebulas flourish upon the LED night sky, painting the screen in a dazzling sapphire blue, complimenting the largely golden hue of the stage as of yet. As the lights billow outwards however, more lights fill the arena with light, shining white and gold upon the whole stage. The camera takes a wide view of the stage to allow the viewer to take in the touching scene of stars with Upon Nancy's large dress, projections of stars twinkle elegantly upon the fabric, occasionally obscured by the spotlights roaming the arena, a few splashes of the nebula forming too. Furthermore, Nancy begins to sing with much more power, matching the flourish of music that the chorus brings. The arena is at once filled with the light of music, Nancy looking brightly into the skies, her eyes fractured with the power of love. She raises her free hand to the sky as well, as if prepared to fly. Each lyric echoes mesmerizingly in the arena as they leave Nancy's lips, tinted with the thankfulness of Nancy's soul. Thankful for her mother. On the final line, her hand slowly falls from the skies and so do her eyes, gazing thoughtfully into the camera as she states her oath of forever love and care.

Your eyes of true I painted in the starlight
Your smile I knew reminding me I'm alright
Your cheeks of rose, your soul that brings the sunlight
I'll always love you mum
As we grow, I'll be there for you as you were for me

The instrumental slowly begins, the soft, sensitive violin filling the empty soundscape with strings. Upon the stage, Nancy lowers her head, closing her eyes as she allow the violin to take centre stage. The lights dim slightly, casting a soft, looming shadow upon Nancy, and the LED screens behind glow and shimmer dimly, shedding a soft blue light of the nebulas upon the stage, alongside the whites and golds of the dimmed spotlights. The camera angles are dynamic yet slow, capturing the quiet of the moment, the memories shining in the subtle laughter of the track that flood Nancy's mind. Eventually however, once the pretty symphony ends, the final chorus begins, the lights flashing gold and white to the rhythm of the drums that end the instrumental.

Nancy looks up as the lights brighten, representing the final flourish of the chorus. Once the lights flash to the rhythm of the drums, the final chorus begins and the spotlights billows outwards once again, blues, golds and white dancing as one as they flood the arena in starlight. Upon the LED screen, behind Nancy, a supernova flashed brilliantly upon the screen, spreading a radiant gold upon the LED screen. The once blue nebulas turned to gold as well as the stars upon Nancy's dress. At once the arena was filled with gold, dazzling and beautiful. Speaking of which, Nancy began to boldly sing the final chorus, giving everything her soul had to give. The final chorus of the song was grand and emotional, Nancy's voice intertwining elegantly with the heightened emotions and symphony. Her eyes glimmering like the sun in the gold, she gazed towards the camera, singing her heartfelt thank you to her mother. As the chorus continued, the supernova faded but the sky was still painted in gold. She raised her arm to the sky, the camera following. Her eyes trailing to the ceiling as the camera took a further out shot of the stage, taking in the beautiful scene as well as Nancy's emotions. As she sang the long note of "fly" the camera panned the stage as Nancy gave her last shred of life to the note, the spotlights shining blue to match the sudden final flourish of power, obscuring Nancy as they flared in the lens of the camera, her hand raised to the stars. Her note was strong and bold, intertwined with the love she holds for her mother, and her mother who loves her in return. Her eyes shut tightly, the picture of her mother etched in her eyes.

Your chestnut hair laced amongst the starlight
The way you grasped my hand filled me with spirit
The days you'd let me soar into the sunlight
And though I'll fly
I'll always be there for you as you were there for me

As Nancy softly whispered the final line, eyes gazing thoughtfully towards the steadily zooming camera, a smile grew upon her face. A bright smile of love and childhood joy. The spotlights faded away, leaving Nancy alone in the darkness once again. The night sky behind her however, golden with tints of blue merely dimmed, hinting at things to come. However, as Nancy's final lyrics escaped her lips softly, a beautiful promise that she would keep forevermore, behind her two hands splayed side by side like wings appeared, slightly transparent as they surrounded Nancy. The camera zoomed out as the stage was still for a moment, a beautiful and symbolic staging that represented the song as a whole. However, the camera then faded to black, ready for the final section of the song.

Finally, the spotlights flashed gold and blue to rhythm of the drums, the drums that opened the final instrumental. The hands behind Nancy upon the LED screen shone white and were then in an instant replaced with angelic wings, a trick of the LED screen to make it appear as if Nancy was an angel. The wings flashed brilliantly behind her, spreading wide before preparing to fly. Once the powerful instrumental kicked into gear, the wings spread to fly, and the LED stars and sky seemed to blur, the illusion of ascension as Nancy almost appeared to be soaring through space. The stars blurred into lines, the colourful dashes of nebula creating blurs of colour as Nancy flew into the sky. Furthermore, to add to the power of the instrumental, which was filled with choir, violins and all, Nancy began to rise, standing on one of the rising platforms. As she rose however, her long, flowing dress began to splay elegantly beneath her like the tail of a comet, and as Nancy rose began to look as if it were a tall dress. Upon the dress, the blurs of starlight and sky painted the white fabric, further emphasising the illusion of flight. Nancy looked up to the sky, her hand leading the way as stars, planets, galaxies and space passed by like a summer breeze. The crowd cheered at the stunning spectacle, the spotlights billowing outwards rapidly and erratically. She rose higher and higher until she reached about the midpoint of the LED screen before the instrumental ended. As it did, the music slowed down, and the blur of stars halted. The final scene of stars being a few dazzling stars upon a navy sky, somewhat more like the skies that appear on earth. It was simple yet still just as beautiful, in a more pretty way. Her LED wings slowly disintegrated into shimmering dust, shining shrapnel flickering off her wings and fading away.

As the piano ended the song, the spotlights dimmed one by one until only a single white spotlight shone above, leaving only Nancy upon the night sky. Furthermore, the camera shifts focus to the uppermost corner of the LED screen, where a small comet shimmers into a view. The camera following carefully, it falls down across the sky, leaving a trail of light and eventually reaches Nancy's heart where it flashes once it reaches there. As it does, a projection of a gold heart beats, the camera zoomed in on the twinkling projection. Finally, as the beating heart fades into silence, so does the camera, marking the end of the song.

The crowd cheer for the tiny island nation as the lights brighten once again. Nancy waves and jumps around on her platform which falls to allow the rising starlet to leave the stage. As it does however, Nancy screams: "I LOOOOOVE YOU MUUUUM!!!! <3" and makes a heart with her hands. Blushing like a radish, her grin crosses from ear to ear. She was certainly more than excited to have done as well as she did. Very much proud of herself, she continues to jump and scream to the cheering crowd. She loved her mum, and she hoped that she showed that to the world.

The postcard ends and the stage is dark. The girls are calm. The camera shows the whole stage, the girls are crouching on their knees in a row centre stage. As the music begins a sun begins to rise behind them on the LED screen. The 7 neon rings suspended above the stage all glow brightly like a sun. The camera cuts to a view of the girls as warm golden spotlights begin to light them all up. The sun rises before the first line and the stage is a beautiful golden warm yellow with orange spotlights shining hard into the arena. The background is now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9FP2HOpqsM a sun high in the blue sky with a lovely grassy floor with bushes and trees. A few cotton clouds float around the sky. A massive cartoon bumblebee zooms around on of the bushes. The background LED playing behind them this will play through the whole performance. The girls are dressed each in a summery outfit, Sara and Emma in a red, white flowery dress and Nicola and Lia in yellow t shirt and dark blue jeans. Their hair is down. Next to them on the stage is a picnic basket and on the far right a table tennis table. They all have microphone facepieces.

Normal font is just Emma, bold font the whole group is singing

The camera shows just the girls on stage. The girls all stand up together and Emma steps forward. Sara Nicole and Lia all spread out evenly beside her. They sway gently and motion a sun shining when they sing their lines "The Sun it shines". The suspended rings all glow brighter when they sing this.

It's bright, sun is shining
Come outside with us

The suspended rings all glow brighter when they sing this line. They all jolly march one by one , Emma first, Lia next Sara then Nicole last before the bridge.

The camera focuses on them. They are jubilant and wave their paddles up Emma and Sara shake their heads and laugh and they all regroup in front of the table. They then walk steadily towards the centre of the stage.

Let's play

And make

The camera then cuts back to stage shot. The girls look extremely happy. The LED rings pulsate with glowing light. The camera now above the audience looking towards the lighten stage.

There in... the lovely sunshine
In the, sweet summertime

The rings fade slightly for the verse. The girls disperse around the stage and run around excitedly pretending they are having a water fight. The camera view is of the whole stage. The camera then focuses on Emma for her next lines as she sings towards the camera as she makes her way back to the centre again. The girls then all raise their hands and motion a sun shining when they sing their lines "The Sun it shines"

Happy water fights
Soaking wet, but what a delight
Lets play, lets play oh ohhhhh!
Hopscotch with my jump rope
Let's run on this slope
The Sun shines!!

They all regroup at the centre. The camera focuses on Emma and then each girl respectively before they all stand behind Emma and sticks their hands out behind her back and spread their hands like a sun. They all emerge again and stand in a line again. The camera pans along them all. They are all smiling. They raise their arms for the last line.

Let's play
Table tennis in the park
Grab your friends lets go out and play
Go out and play
We can play dawn till dusk
Go out, and have a good day ayyyyyyyyyyyy!

Their hands raised they then spread them and put them behind the next girls shoulders and they all sway left to right in unison with the beat. The camera pulls out from the stage showing the arena again. The warm yellow spotlights whirling around. The LED rings are glowing yellow.

Smile...
Lets go out and play,
On this lovely summers day

It cuts back to a view of the girls on stage. And moves along them as they all sing. The LED background still playing. The trees are swaying and gently clouds roll along, and the sun shining brightly in the sky. The girls hold their notes strongly.

There in... the lovely sunshine
In the, sweet summertime

Each one of the girls then starts swaying along and they raise they palms up and hold them mid air. The audience cheers.

Enjoy.....
The happy sunshine
In this, hot summertime

They lower their arms down. The camera pulls out quickly at an angle towards the back of the arena, before cutting to a on stage camera. The girls are smiling. They feel so happy. This was a great debut for their country.

There in... the lovely sunshine
In the, sweet summertime the sun shines...

The girls then raise the arms and reach an arm out towards the audience as they sing. The camera focuses on them and gently pulls out before cutting to a close frontal view of them.

There in the lovely, sunshine
In the, sweet summertime the sun shines...

The girls all bow. They shout into their microphones together, "Thank you Natanya!" They vacate the stage.

After a near miss in the last edition of the Junior World Hit Festival, Mercedini are back for another crack at the title, which would complete the triple crown for the island nation. In Juana Diaz/Urbania, Achaean Republic, it was IO who represented Mercedini with her power ballad 'Reflection in the contest's seventh edition. Following a stirring performance from the youngster, she topped the leader board following the Jury vote by a margin on four points. But alas, the televote once again became the undoing of Mercedini as IO ranked third in points from the public, ultimately losing out to Togonistan by two points. It was nonetheless the nation's best result at the contest, overcoming the hattrick of 3rd places given in their first three editions. Now, Dini are back to go one better in Nightton, Natanya, and have opted for a similar strategy to what bought them success last time round.

Hailing from Langtree and a student of the city's College Of Arts, Eliza Ristretto is handed the baton to sing for Mercedini at the eighth edition of the Junior World Hit Festival with her song 'Out Of Place'. Much softer than her predecessor, Eliza ramins within ballad territory, with simple piano chords and clean vocals making up the song which is hoped to bring the nation a first victory at the contest. Ristretto is no stranger to the stage and screen, being a common appearance on the musical and theatre circuit in Langtree and Zoloroni. Nevertheless, she will have to make her way through the crowd of competing nations and state her case for the JWHF title in Natanya.

The song begins with the opening piano chords ringing around the arena in Natanya, wit the crowd in the arena and the rest of competing nations watching on in the arena. Elsewhere, for the viewers at home, they watch on as the lights go down and simple beams of light shines down from the arena roof onto a closed grand piano where our singer resides. She is wearing a flowing white dress as she sits on a black lather stool playing the piano at the centre of the stage.

The camera on stage films the tender fingers of Eliza as she plays the opening chords of the song on the ivory keys. It tracks back to reveal more of the performer as the introduction plays out around the arena, subtle flashes of light twinkle in the camera lens as the stage lights reflect off the diamond-encrusted ring work by Eliza on her right-hang ring finger. She opens up the song by leaning forward into into the microphone and singing the opening lines in Mercedinian, which is greeted by a small cheer from the Mercedinian portion of the crowd.

Pezzi frantumata
Sparsi sul pavimenta
Il nostr’amore non può, essere riparato

shattered pieces
scattered on the floor
our love cannot be repaired

Both hands on the piano but perfectly capable of singing into the microphone, the camera slowly circling around Eliza and her setup on stage. An aerial shot flies forward elegantly and dips down until it faces Eliza who is concentrating on the piano notes, before looking up and into the camera , which is now situated right in front of her. As it moves forward, numerous lights behind her begin to glisten against the night blue background, this is eventuated by the lights in the arena which begin to glisten as they reflect in the lens of the camera.

Incollami di nuovo
ma è fuori uso
Forse lasciare che tutto, cada a brega pezzo

glue me back together
but it’s out of order
maybe let it all fall apart

As the chorus approaches, she leans back from the microphone to allow her to belt her vocals a bit more without over loading the microphone. Eliza sits in the centre of the stage as she looks into the abyss of waving flags and unrecognisable faces. Soft white lights that are spread out in all directions slowly begin to converge onto the young performer and her piano as the lights glisten on the stage. She takes one final glance into the to the camera and the audience before the shot fades out to allow the first chorus of the song to begin.

You can try and deny my empty heart but it’s too real
You were the one, I thought. Now we’re just memories.

Contrary to most Mercedinian entries of past editions, there is no drop or beat as the first chorus begins, as the song delicately floats into the title portion of the track. Eliza sings into the microphone as the central camera is zoomed in to focus on Eliza and Eliza only. She holds a furrowed brow as she reaches towards the upper echelons of her range for the first time in the song. Nothing drastic changes in the staging of the song, owing to the delicacy of the song, several aerial shots of the arena capture the white glow of the stage along with countless phone lights twinkling in the darkness of the arena.

Why does everything seem out of place?
Will I heal my wounds without a trace?
Yeah, I bleed and I bruise but my heart will lead me to you
Oh, everything just seems so out of place
Promise me that you’ll get here one day
And my head can decide if I can stay true

The second verse begins with an immediate sense of the something stirring in the underbelly of the song, the atmosphere of the song instantly gets turned up a notch to add to the dynamism of the song. Eliza returns to her Mercedinian mother tongue for the second verse, a camera is up on the stage once again with the young performer staring intently into the camera, rather than on the keys this time. Twinkling shards of glass on the screen behind her begin to morph into a starry night, a subtle not to her predecessor IO and visually interpreting the handover from the last representative to this one.

Il mio corpo guirar, me mia mente potrebmai
Farò un passo indietro
Non stochiu nessuna portendo
Ma prevarrà su questa
Sulle tue finte montagna
Vivrò per vedere l'ilbi
Fai risplendere la luce su di me

my body can heal, but my mind may never
i'll step back from it all
but i'm not closing any doors
i will prevail over this
over your artificial mountains
i will live to see the sun rise
to have the sun shine on me again

Eliza lifts one hand up in the air, almost as if to feel the glow radiating around her from the stage lights. She looks up to twinkle her fingers bathed in white light, before placing it back onto the piano and looking back into the central camera once again. Eliza looks into the dark abyss of the audience but sees nothing back, she offers her hand to the audience before claiming it back, just in time for the end of the second verse.

You can try and deny my empty heart but it’s too real
You were the one, I thought. Now we’re just memories.

The second chorus arrives in no time at all with much more depth added than the first one, a large projection of Earth slowly rolls onto the screen from the bottom, upward. The starry night gives a suitable background for the whole setup, with the green land and blue water also making it's way across the floor too. Eliza is beginning to belt her vocals a bit more in this chorus, slowly adding layer and layer to a song which is what many would class as a slow burner. Once again, the shot fades to black as the second chorus ends with Eliza's blue eyes looking longingly into the central camera.

Why does everything seem out of place?
Will I heal my wounds without a trace?
Yeah, I bleed and I bruise but my heart will lead me to you
Oh, everything just seems so out of place
Promise me that you’ll get here one day
And my head can decide if I can stay true

Eliza finally stands and steps away from the piano to walk forward and take the stage as her own. The stage is glowing with white light around Eliza with the Natanyan crowd cheering her on as she approaches them. She walks towards the elevated camera which is between the stage and the audience, with Eliza steadying herself before taking her place at the front of the stage. She places her hand on her heart before turning her back on the crowd for the final chorus.

Ta Liberarma
I miei pezzi sono tornati a postar

You have set me free
All my pieces are back in place

The piano has disappeared which gives the oncoming camera a clear view as it comes in from the rear of the stage where is Eliza is already watching on from the main stage. The camera films Eliza as she sings the third and final chorus of the song, with seemingly hundreds of lights behind her waving in time with the tempo of the song. Eliza is fully trained on the camera before the more atmospheric aspects of the song kick back in, as the camera circles around the Mercedinian once again before drifting away, leaving her as the only thing on stage. For the final shot, the central camera shows only Eliza's face, which a subtle grin on her face. She is clearly happy with the performance she as given tonight.

Why does everything seem out of place?
Will I heal my wounds without a trace?
Yeah, I bleed and I bruise but my heart will lead me to you
Why does everything seem out of place?
Will I heal my wounds without a trace?
Yeah, I bleed and I bruise but my heart will lead me to you
Oh, everything just seems so out of place
Promise me that you’ll get here one day
And my head can decide if I can stay true

If I can stay true

Eliza and the camera stay trained on the final shot of her face, with the Mercedinian performer lingering on the final note to keep the experience going a least of a moment longer. A wide smile appears on the face of Eliza's face as her performance comes to an end, she waves to the crowd as flags from all competing nations fly high above the crowd. She does a small courtesy before verbally thanking the viewers in the arena and at home, "Grazije Nattania, Thank You!" The camera feed cuts to a wide shot of the arena before a transition is made to the postcard of the next participating nation.

Ǧiana Valentini - "Se ja fosë un papiľu"

Title Translation: If I was a butterfly
Language(s): Kalosian
Tune: My New Day — Sofia Feskova
Lyrics: Fabián Marteľi, Ǧiana Valentini
Music: Fabián Marteľi, Ǧiana Valentini, Rafaéla Žardino

After missing out on the 7th World Hit Festival due to the situation surrounding COVID-19 in Kalosia, the island nation has returned to the contest. Although the pandemic is still very real within the country, time has been kind enough to allow society to heal and adapt. It may not be a perfect scenario, but a scenario where we can send kids to international song contests again is good enough.

RTVK held a national final that, while small, had a somewhat complex selection process. First, a song submission process was opened in which teenagers and young adults between the ages of 12 and 21 were eligible to apply. 3 songs were chosen, and an online audition process was opened in which the songwriters were invited to find a match for their song. 3 contestants were then invited to RTVK studios in Monterra where they performed the songs in a studio in front of a panel of juries which included the songwriter of the song being performed. Afterwards, an online voting portal was opened, in which members of the public had a week to vote for their favourite. The prerecorded in-studio performances were made available online, and RTVK's children's channel TVK Infanti aired the songs extensively throughout the week, with a 15-minute segment showing all 3 entries broadcast twice a day for every day voting was open.

At the end of the voting period, it was announced that 10 year old Ǧiana Valentini had won with the song Se ja fosë un papiľu (If I was a butterfly), composed by 17 year old Fabián Marteľi. Only the winner was announced, with the other two entries declared joint runner-ups.

Image

Following the national final, work was immediately underway to turn the entry into something worthy of the international stage. The two were introduced to Rafaéla Žardino, a producer who helped revamp the song. Ǧiana was able to add her own input as well, and made a few changes to the lyrics.

Se ja fosë un papiľu is sung from the perspective of someone who has been, for whatever reason, separated from someone they love. The singer imagines themself as a butterfly who is able to fly towards their loved one. It is clear that this song is inspired at least in part by the current pandemic that Kalosia faces, and it seems to be the only song competing in this edition that is inspired by it. It is unclear, however who exactly this loved one is. Some people have interpreted that Ǧiada is singing about someone she has lost to the disease (particularly due to the line "I will fly high to see you"), while others believe it is more about missing someone who she can otherwise meet if not for social distancing (particularly due to the mention of screens). Of course, no one wants to ask a 10 year old if she has dead family members. When asked about the songwriting process, however, Fabián did mention that it was meant to be broad and general rather than based off of a specific personal experience. "Since this is something that everyone is going through, I wanted to reach everyone's hearts and make it relatable to everyone", he said. This answer satisfied the press.

Kalosia was drawn to perform first, opening the show ahead of 18 other countries. Of course Ǧiana was nervous, but Fabián reminded her backstage that the sooner she performs, the sooner it's over with — other participants have to be nervous for even longer. Fabián as well as Ǧiana's parents were among the delegation members supporting her from backstage in Nightton.

For her special moment, Ǧiana was wearing the same scarlet dress pictured above. As the Kalosian postcard finished playing, the stage was dark. She was standing alone in the middle of the stage, which was covered with a layer of mist. As the song began, the lights came on, bathing the stage in orange light with hints of blue and pink. The LED rings, which aren't really used during the performance, are orange, and continue to mimic the colours of the lights as they change throughout the entry. The background screen also mimics an early morning sky as this happens. A front-facing camera in front of the stage slowly moves towards Ǧiana, though as she starts singing it changes to a few different close up angles that give viewers a better picture of what she looks like.
Vidu l’albë dala fenestrë
Da mi luž d’un žornu novu
E lë ventu kiáma tiu nom

The stage lights slowly move around, making the stage a little lively. Ǧiana tries to keep her head up and exert confidence.
Sto penšandu dëli momenti
Kadë noj avamu riduto
Komuz staj or? Nël rëspondi kon silenžio

The screen in the background shows many, many butterflies enter the picture, flying from below upwards. Like an overwhelming amount of butterflies. If you saw that many butterflies in real life you would think disaster was about to strike. It was really vibrant in colour though, an was definitely a goosebumps moment. The camera shows this but mainly focuses on Ǧiana, who at this point is a little more comfortable on stage. The grin on her face widens a little.
Se ja fosë un papiľu
Volere altu per viderë ti
Forse ad un altru žornu
Saremu noj insemë ankorë
Perki voľu solu dirë ti:
Tu mi manki

As the last of the swarm of butterflies reach the top of the screen, you can now see a mountain in the picture, against a regular blue cloudy daytime sky. The stage lights become bright (mostly white). As Ǧiana begins singing the next part (and you can really tell from her voice that she feels more confident and empowered), the camera perspective of the background screen begins to move forwards, passing by the mountains and other geographic features that appear next.
Venel a volarë kon mi
Traversu kesti skrani
Pošamu ad atenerë li steli

Now the background screens arrive at a sea, its waves lively as ever. A toy sailboat is seen sailing through it, tackling the waves. As the song intensifies, the look on Ǧiana's face becomes more serious as well. She gives her all, putting in her energy to delivering this part. As she sings the long note in the last line below ("baaaaaaaaaarke"), the camera zooms out, the perspective in the background screen appears to "fall" into the ocean making the screen dark, and the lights dim for a moment.
Se sëparasimo da un ošanu
Navigeremu, oh-oh-oh
Perki noji soñi
Sonu le barke

And then, as the next part comes on, the venue is once again illuminated by orange light, and the background screens show some mountains with the sun setting. The sunset sky is in the same colours as it was earlier when a sunrise sky was shown. A golden shower descends from the top of the back of stage (a safe distance from Ǧiana), and the cameras display everything that is going on beautifully, switching angles occasionally.
Se ja fosë un papiľu
Volere altu per viderë ti
Forse ad un altru žornu
Saremu noj insemë ankorë
Perki voľu solu dirë ti:
Tu mi manki

As the song begins to calm down, the sun in the background "sets" and we now see a night sky with subtle shining stars. The pyro has definitely stopped at this point. The stage lights have also turned blue to reflect this.
Tu mi manki
Uh…

As Ǧiana delivers the final line with full confidence, the camera in front of the stage slowly zooms in on her.
Tu mi manki

And that's it — a rather simple and minimalistic performance, making the most of the circumstances. The song is over. The audience cheers. Ǧiana takes a bow and says: "Thank you, I love you!" before leaving the stage. She goes backstage, where her parents and Fabián are waiting for her and are definitely proud of her, as the stage is set up for the next entrant, Eliza Ristretto from Mercedini.

I see the sunrise from the window
Gives me the light of a new day
And the wind calls out for your name

I’m thinking of the moments
When you and I laughed
How are you? Don’t answer with silence

If I was a butterfly
I would fly high to see you
Maybe in another day
I’ll be together with you again
Because I only want to tell you:
I miss you

Come fly with me
Through these screens
We can reach the stars

If we were separated by an ocean
We will sail, oh-oh-oh
Because our dreams
Are boats

If I was a butterfly
I would fly high to see you
Maybe in another day
I’ll be together with you again
Because I only want to tell you:
I miss you

I miss you
Ooh…

I miss you

Title Translation: Poke, Poke Everyone!
Language(s): Togoni-Maori

/-♥Fërøçïóûš÷Šłøthş♥-/ is representing Togonistan in JWHF8 with their single ''Koko, Koko Katoa!''
(Band members from left to right: Kira Airia, Moana Pahikatea, Alissa Tamaki)

Ferocious Sloths (Stylised as /-♥Fërøçïóûš÷Šłøthş♥-/) is a musical trio originating from Hwoarang, Togonistan. The trio consists of three teenage schoolgirls Kira (age 14), Moana (age 14) and Alissa (age 15). The sloths are performing a style of music decribed by their record label as Togoni-Kawaii Metal. The group got together a year before JWHF8, when the three friends got an idea to form a band just for fun. Backed by D3V1L15h Records - a record label owned by Kira's older brother Tama that mainly focuses on promoting local underground rock and metal artists. The girls showed up in Tama's recording studio one day, asking if they could use the studio to make some music. Tama, despite writing it all off as his sister's childish games at first, allowed the trio to use the studio and help the girls with producing. It didn't take too long for Tama to change his attitude once he heard the girls singing together. Together, they produced and released 8 singles over the course of the following year, mixing together various elements of metal and cutesy pop music. The sloths didn't get anywhere near the nationwide fame as a result of all this, but they did gain themselves a tiny fan base amongst the underground music community.

When Lucky 7 announced their internal selection to find a representative for the 8th Junior World Hit Festival, D3V1L15h Records decided to send in one of the group's newest singles as an attempt to gain some recognition and publicity for the group. Having listened to all the applicants songs, Lucky 7 eventually invited 8 artists to their studio for a live performance to make the final selection. Amongst the 8 invited were also the sloths, who went on to perform their song live in front of the internal jury. Despite the tough competition, the jury eventually decided to send the sloths to JWHF8 in Nightton, being impressed by the girls unique song and staging that accompanied their performance.

Performance:

The performance starts with the stage being dark. The sloths are standing in the middle of the stage, side by side, with only their silhouettes being barely visible in the dark. As the music starts playing, beams of colourful lights start appearing, gradually lighting up the stage. For a moment, the trio can be seen standing side by side, with Moana in the middle and the other two standing with their side towards the audience. Either of the girls have placed one of their hands on Moana's shoulder. They are wearing the same outfits as seen on the cover art of their single (excluding the bags and plushie toys).

Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo kia ora!
Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo kia ora!
Koko, koko katoa!

Suddenly, a cloud of smoke appears on the stage, hiding the girls from the field of vision for the audience as the guitar kicks in. Colourful lightbeams suddenly get replaced by dark red lights flickering at high speed. Some fire is also seen being burst up into the sky.

Aaaaah!

As the cloud of smoke disappears, the girls can be seen again in the dark red light. They have distanced from themselves a bit and are standing with an aggressive stance, hands turned into fists. Pyrotechnics burst some more flames into the sky. The red stage aesthetic remains as the girls start singing. Moana is providing the main vocals, while Kira and Alissa provide the supporting vocals. The girls move themselves from side to side while singing, pointing their fingers at the audience every once in a while.

Orotika. Memene rawhiti!
Tiimata te ra me te memene!
Ko koe pouri? Wiri? Kaua en!
Rawhiti! Koko e hoa! Hanga ratou memene!

Another cloud of smoke appears and buries the girls inside itself. Red lights start flashing again at high speed. Some more fire burst into the sky. Then, the smoke fades off once again and girls start singing again, doing the same movements as before.

Waiata waiata! Kia whai a tualale!
Koko koe! Hoana koko! Waiata haere!
Kao tangi! Memene! Waiata koa sang!
Rawhiti! Koko e hoa! Hanga ratou memene!

Stage aesthetic suddenly turns into a mixture of colourful lights as seen at the very beginning of the performance. Girls start walking forward as they sing.

Koko tangata katoa e pouri.
Koko tangata katoa e haurangi.
Koko tangata katoa e tepresta.
Tohatoha e hari! Hanga ratou memene!
Hey-hoo!

The trio stops walking and starts jumping from side to side with happy smiles on their faces. Every time it is time to sing the Koko, Koko Katoa! line, Kira and Alissa start poking Moana's cheeks with their fingers.

Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo kia ora!
Koko, koko o hoa! O whanau!
Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo memene!
Koko koko katoa!

Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo kia ora!
Koko, koko o hoa! O whanau!
Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo memene!
Koko koko katoa!

Again, stage aesthetics turn into a mixture of dark red with rapidly flashing lights. The trio places their hands on their chests and does some rotating moves, with mean expressions on their faces. When it's time to sing, the red aesthetic remains. The girls do wave their fingers, do some winks and move their hips to the rhythm of the music as they sing.

Orotika. Memene rawhiti!
Tiimata te ra me te memene!
Ko koe pouri? Wiri? Kaua en!
Rawhiti! Koko e hoa! Hanga ratou memene!

Stage aesthetic turns into a mixture of colourful lights once again. Girls start walking around the stage as they sing.

Koko tangata katoa e pouri.
Koko tangata katoa e haurangi.
Koko tangata katoa e tepresta.
Tohatoha e hari! Hanga ratou memene!
Hey-hoo!

The trio stops walking and starts jumping from side to side with happy smiles on their faces. They constantly point at the audience and every once in a while, either Kira or Alissa pokes Moana during the chorus.

Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo kia ora!
Koko, koko o hoa! O whanau!
Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo memene!
Koko koko katoa!

Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo kia ora!
Koko, koko o hoa! O whanau!
Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo memene!
Koko koko katoa!

Again, stage turns red, rapidly flashing colors with some fire and some satanic visual imagery...

Aaaaaaaah!

...to be replaced by the colourful aesthetic shortly after. For a moment, the girls do some slightly robotic dance moves, but they quickly replace it with their usual happy jumping around and pointing fingers.

Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo kia ora!
Koko, koko o hoa! O whanau!
Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo memene!
Koko koko katoa!

Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo kia ora!
Koko, koko o hoa! O whanau!
Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo memene!
Koko koko katoa!

The girls start running around the stage. Kira and Alissa reach the edge of the stage and bend towards the audience. They point their microphone at the audience to allow them sing along, before starting to run around again while constantly jumping up and down. The whole coreography gets rather chaotic and the sloths have exciting smiles on their faces.

Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo kia ora!
Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo kia ora!
Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo kia ora!
Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo kia ora!
Koko koko katoa!

Eventually, the sloths all run to the middle of the stage again and as they sing the final note, they all raise their hand next to their cheek, forming the V sign with their fingers. As the song ends, the girls start jumping up and down again, hugging each other. Alissa manages to say ''Thank you Nightton! Thank you!'' while Kira and Moana form a heart shape with their hands, on which the camera focuses on as a final thing before the next postcard starts.

Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo, hi there!
Ding ding ding! Hey-hoo, hi there!
Poke, poke everyone!

Aaaaah!

Darling, smile sunshine!
Start the day with a smile!
Are you sad? Bored? Don't be!

Wonder4 - "Get On Up"

Language(s): (English)
Tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaBHWqorYNg
Lyrics: Johnathan Soo
Music: Johnathan Soo, FoYi

Image

Wonder4 stood together in formation, spreading out and moving around and jumping in unison to the beat drop.

Doesn’t matter what they think, just move your feet tonight
It’s not hard to get flow, dance even if you’re young or old
Come on and dance with me, life has a formula
Theres only one chance is today, so get down with me

Other group members stood beside Alana, two stepping and snapping to the beat and towards the end they all spread out, spinning around.

Your By, Your By
This is a funky groove, Let’s move to the beat, beat, beat
Keep moving all night long
Let’s stay, let’s stay
If you’re ready, Step Step Step
Are you ready to get down? Woo!

At the beginning of the pre-chorus, they began to slide from left to right, popping

Nothing really matters if you get on up
The beat is really hot, keep dancing
So get on up to the groove, woo!
Everybody dance, come on now and get on up,
Experience the joy of dancing, and
Get! Get! Get! Get on up

One-two time, three time
One-two time three time
Get, up, get, up, get up!
Don’t matter what they say, get up and dance today
We’re dancing ‘round the bonfire, dance is my life story
There's something you gotta do, you gotta dance all night
Head over to the door, if you can’t dance today That Say That Say
We dance from night to day, and we Step Step Step

Varjovia Uvehara - "Voima"

Title Translation: Strength
Language(s): Taploukki
Tune: Moldir Auyelbekova - "Süigen Jürek"
Lyrics: Varjovia Uvehara
Music: Varjovia Uvehara, Miyako Saari, Ainaarsi Sano

Varjovia Uvehara, 15, hails from Sinnlichšukai, to a family that relied on the local fishing fleet for income. Her fathers alternated their schedules as to always have one parent at home to raise her, and so Varjovia came to form strong emotional connections with both of them, as she would constantly only have one or the other at home with her. Her childhood was already a bit tough, with money being tight as it was, and both her parents really tried to provide the best for her. But one night, it was all to change. A winter storm blew up from the south with unprecedented speed not long before the solstice as her isá was returning home, and the storm's speed and violence overwhelmed the crew onboard the boat he was on. That was the first of many holidays she would spend without him, and it affected both her and her family's finances greatly. After some time of mourning, and a downward spiral into near poverty, Varjovia felt a need to help contribute to her remaining dad - and so she began to wield her voice at whatever local venue she could find. Luckily, the gods had blessed her with a beautiful voice, and her efforts began to reap rewards as videos of her shot through the matrix and came to national attention one and a half years ago. However, the loss of her isá is still raw, and permeates her life every day, and so she decided to take the big step and write a song dedicated to him.

The stage glimmers blue, then transitions to a dull blue-white glow around Varjovia, who is dressed simply and softly lit
Haaveilen susta yoka üö, se on vaikea
Üritán eláá, mutta, huomaan olen haikea

I dream of you every night, it's hard
I try to live, but I realize I'm yearning for the past

The lights intensify slightly, warming to a soft golden color with zoom ins to Varjovia, eyes misty and face wistful
Anna mulle, voimaa yatkaa
Náütá mulle, miten kasvaa
Pelasta mut surultani, itseltáni
Anna mulle rakkautesi

Give me the strength to go on
Show me, how to grow
Save me from my grief, from myself
Give me your love

She reaches upward, the camera view arcing around her with spotlights in the background
Anna mulle, voimaa yatkaa, la la la la
La la la la

Give me the strength to go on

The lights dim down again, leaving a few warm spotlights that give her a soft glow as she gazes into the camera view
Ehká náen sut pian tai, ehká en ole valmis
Silti, toivotan teille, takaisin, ranyinkallis

Maybe I will see you soon or maybe I'm not ready
Still, I wish you back again, dear as gold

Varjovia takes a deep breath as she launches into the chorus, backed by golden lights sweeping out over the audience, as she takes steps forward, arms reaching out as if to hold her father
Anna mulle, voimaa yatkaa
Náütá mulle, miten kasvaa
Pelasta mut surultani, itseltáni
Anna mulle rakkautesi

Give me the strength to go on
Show me, how to grow
Save me from my grief, from myself
Give me your love

She closes her eyes, facing up, and slowly turns in a circle, her arms outraised, wind tossing her hair. The camera follows her at the pace of her turning, focused on her face, before gliding back out
Anna mulle, voimaa yatkaa, la la la la
La la la la

Give me the strength to go on

The lights are warm, golden, orange, autumnal. She seems to be glowing
Ohhhh...

The lights dim down as a white feather drifts down from above, illuminated in a single beam of light. Varjovia catches it and gazes into it
Anna mulle, voimaa yatkaa
Náütá mulle, miten kasvaa
Pelasta mut surultani, itseltáni
Anna mulle rakkautesi

Give me the strength to go on
Show me, how to grow
Save me from my grief, from myself
Give me your love

The lights all around the stage flash with the drums as everything becomes bright again, wind blowing upon Varjovia as she steps toward the edge of the stage, clothes rippling into the wind as she sings with renewed vigor
Anna mulle, voimaa yatkaa
Náütá mulle, miten kasvaa
Pelasta mut surultani, itseltáni
Anna mulle rakkautesi

Give me the strength to go on
Show me, how to grow
Save me from my grief, from myself
Give me your love

Golden pyros rain down behind her as the camera swings near and around her for dramatic angles, Varjovia clutching at her heart and leaning forward
Anna mulle, voimaa yatkaa, la la la la
La la la la

Give me the strength to go on

She falls to her knees as the lights dim out, one spotlight lingering upon her before it too dissipates

"Kiitos Nightton!" she breathes shakily, before bowing very quickly and nervously exiting the stage. Her emotions all still felt so raw, and performing them before such a large audience left her aching for some time alone to decompress.

Just pretend they're 14 lol

Rex Albion is a group of 14 year old friends from Staithes who got together to make a song for JWHF8 after an advertisement for acts was sent to their school. Composing the songs themselves, it managed to get the seal of approval and won the internal selection, heading off to Natanya for their debut of a musical act. They chose to try make the song genuinely fun and funky, but also kept the childish aspect of the contest too, making the lyrics a playful reference to group video games.

As the intro of the song starts, the camera is focused up on the above stage LEDs, which show moving stars. The camera then pans down to the main LED screen, which also shows moving stars going outwards from the centre of the screen, as if the stadium itself was a ship moving through space. Now the camera gradually pans down to the darkened stage and to the side silhouette of a darkened figure, who shushes the camera, leading into the first chorus. Cutting to a shot of the girls in the band, the stage now lightens, throughout the verse the primary vocalist changes many different times, and the camera changes to focus on said vocalist each time. During the verse the band all move and rush around the stage as if they were hurrying to get tasks done, with the primary vocalist either singing to the camera or a bandmate while doing so. The group all are wearing Victorian-esque steampunk outfits.

Shhh!
Another day, another game,
Hopefully this ones not the same,
As all the times you ignored me,
And then we all just ended up getting maimed.
There’s been a body found in electrical again,
We all gather in the cafeteria,
We all gather and start accusing each other,
We all gather and someone meets their end.
Up on the screen it says weren’t the one,
Look at what we’ve gone and done,
Threw out the wrong guy.
I told you they were fine,
We’re short on one ally,
Our hopes of winning are slowly going bye-bye,
And at this rate you’ll be lucky,
If the imposter gets you before I-I-I!

In the chorus the band all turn to the stage, dancing in formation. The camera in a zoomed out pan, with many lights from the sides of the stage. The camera would cut to the interjecting members during their speaking lines.

You should have listened! (I probably should have...)
Now we’re stuck here with a psychopath,
There’s not many of us left, (It was white's fault!)
Don’t cry to me when you feel his wrath.
You should have listened! (I guess I should have)
They were innocent just like I said and now we’re stuck on the edge,
There’s an imposter, (oh God, where is he!)
And he hides, and he hides among us.

With the falling tones of the instrumental, the camera pans down into darkness, and then in a camera trick, the band comes into view again from the downwards pan. The seconds verse is much the same, but with more of a sense of paranoia among the band members, minus a few sat on the side-lines, who chat amongst themselves as "ghosts".

Time in the game goes by,
Low and behold, we drop like flies,
Why couldn’t you all just have listened to me,
Now we’re down just to three!
Maybe we can just restart?
Before I end up ripping you apart.
Please go and check that ship thermostat,
And at least, please, use the chat,
You better be doing all of your tasks,
Cause that’s the only way we’ll win this.
Maybe if we’re lucky,
We can clutch a vote win,
But this time please give a proper reason,
For all of your suspicions,
Debate and give some actual points,
No, you can’t eject them just cause they’re red!
(Deceased - Chat off!)

This chorus follows the same choreography and design as the first. At the end the stage goes dark, with lights franticly dotting around the stadium, with the stage flashing red on and off again as if an alarm was going off, this continues for the bridge.

[/box]You should have listened! (Indeed, it seems so)
Now we’re stuck here with a psychopath,
There’s not many of us left, (He was very quiet...)
Don’t cry to me when you feel his wrath.
You should have listened! (Hey, it wasn't me!)
They were innocent just like I said and now we’re stuck on the edge,
There’s an imposter, (Good luck to us)
And he hides, and he hides among us.

Another day, another game,
Hopefully this ones not the same,
But the chances of that are sma-a-all,
Sometimes I could almost bash my head into a wall![/box]

The stage lightens again, with two of the band members sat at a table, talking to each other, the camera switches from just behind each of them as the talker changes.

(You should have listened) Oh
And you should have listened. (You should have listened)
(You should have listened) Uh-huh, now we’re stuck here with a psychopath. (You should have, should have, should have, should have)
(You should have listened) Yeah, you never know.
We could still maybe clutch this. (You should have listened)
(You should have listened) If we just stick together…
Quiet! He’s coming! (You should have, should have, should have, should have)

As the final chorus commences, fire pyrotechnics shoot up from the edges of the stage and continue to to the beat of the song. All of the band come back into frame to sing. Just as the final lyrics are sang, they huddle around one member who the shushes the camera and in the final notes, they all simultaneously look upwards, as if something was behind the camera.

You should have listened!
Now we are probably gonna lose again, can you all please just listen next time.
There’s an imposter,
And he hides among us,
And he hides among us.
Shhh!

After the end of the performance, the band bow, joined hand in hand, and then excitedly thank the audience before running off the stage.

Geschwister Lasurstein - "Vielleicht, Womöglich"

Title Transcription: N/A
Title Translation: Perhaps, Possibly
Language(s): English, German
Tune: Aly & AJ - Potential Break-Up Song
Lyrics: Angelique & Hanna Lasurstein
Music: A. & H. Lasirstein

Geschwister Lasurstein, Angelique (16, left) and Hanna (15, right)

"Geschwister Lasurstein" or Lasurstein Sisters are Angelique and Hanna Lasurstein, two Natanyan sisters and musicians from a commuter town of Nightton. With big dreams of making it big, the sisters quickly accepted to chance to perform in front of a home crowd at the 8th JWHF after being approached to audition by an agent who heard them singing karaoke together. The girls wowed the judges with their chemistry and vocals and were chosen to be the home representative and were given the freedom to compose their own song. Bringing a teen-pop song about a potential break-up with plenty of attitude and groove, they are hoping to do their home nation proud on the night and get a good finishing position.

As the song begins, the backing LED displays a bright, full moon, slowly rising from below stage. The moon then settles in the middle of the screen, taking up most of the LED. As the drum beats denoting the beginning of the first verse play, lights at the borders of the stage flash, before the camera cuts to Angelique, who sings the first verse. During the first verse, Angelique walks around the stage singing to the camera, starting with a shot of her shoes and zooming out to a full body shot, with a demeanour as if she was lecturing the viewer.

I waited all,
I waited all,
I waited all night just for that call,
But you were too busy playing football,
After all I’m “just” your girlfriend,
Your stupid girlfriend.

I let it go,
I let it go,
I let it go,
Didn’t shout or bawl,
Except there wasn’t a “sorry” at all,
How do you even have the gall,
Such piggish gall.

During the pre-chorus, Angelique walks off screen with her sister Hanna then coming into frame, who, stood still and from a upper body shot, sings the pre-chorus with her sister, with the camera turning to show Angelique on the 3rd and 6th lines.

You really tried that trick on me,
Thinking I’d just let it be?
Boy, you’re so wrong!
We both know I’m out your league,
And I’m getting some real fatigue,
Soon I’ll be gone!

For the chorus, the camera zooms out, with spotlights descending on the audience and moving back and forth in a symmetrical pattern. These spotlights continue as the camera changes again to show the sisters, stood back to back, who are motion to the camera with their hands. Then, in the post-chorus, the camera focuses solely on the girls, who sing with a more forlorn expression, once again motioning to the camera, but in a more welcoming way than before.

Zeit zu rennen, du rennst jetzt,
Rennt zu mir,
Zeit zu Kriechen, zu kriechst jetzt,
Kriechst zu mir,
Zeit zu weinen, du weinst jetzt,
Weinen für mich,
Zeit zu leben, du lebst jetzt,
Lebst für mich.

Vielleicht, Womöglich,
Zeit ist vorbei
And we should say goodbye,
Oh, Liebe, mach,
Mach es nicht.

The second verse and pre-chorus play out much like the first have done, however this time both sisters are static, stood apart on the stage, with Hanna singing the solo verse.

It took too long,
It took too long,
It took too long,
For me to click on,
That our romance is nearly all gone,
Better move on,
So, get a move on,
Before I’m too gone.

Have a think, long and hard,
Make sure you play the right card,
Or it’s the end!
We both know I’m out your league,
You’re losing all my intrigue,
One chance to amend.

During this verse, the girls both interact with a male dancer. The dancer goes from one side of the stage to the other, back and forth, being pushed, dragged and motioned over by the girls. The camera during this sequence sticks to 2 shots, both static shots of the stage, one of each girl's side, switching from one shot to the other when the dancer enter said shot.

Zeit zu rennen, du rennst jetzt,
Rennt zu mir,
Zeit zu Kriechen, zu kriechst jetzt,
Kriechst zu mir,
Zeit zu weinen, du weinst jetzt,
Weinen für mich,
Zeit zu leben, du lebst jetzt,
Lebst für mich.

During the bright, the stage darkens with a red hue around the LED and on the bright moon, the girls are both now stood on rising platforms which settling in front of the moon. As they rise the girls sing down to cameras below them. On the "C'mon" the camera zooms right out from centre stage and spark pyrotechnics shoot up from the edges of the stage.

Hold me tight, hold me tight,
And make everything alright,
Otherwise, we’re gonna fight,
It’s time for you to decide, decide,
And do not misguide, misguide,
Or you’ll be left out all alone and easily pushed aside, aside,
C’mon!

During the final chorus, there is a flurry of lights waving from the top of the stage and stretching out into the audience in a repetitive motion. The camera panning, across the audience to capture this, occasionally breaking to a closer shot of one of the sisters, whom are singing out in the crowds direction from their respective platforms.

Zeit zu rennen, du rennst jetzt,
Rennt zu mir,
Zeit zu Kriechen, zu kriechst jetzt,
Kriechst zu mir,
Zeit zu weinen, du weinst jetzt,
Weinen für mich,
Zeit zu leben, du lebst jetzt,
Lebst für mich.

In the final chorus, the girls platforms start to descend and the room brightens again, switching between close shots of the girls' platforms, in the final part of the song, the girls walk from their sides of the stage off their now grounded platforms and to the centre, where they take each other's spare hand and stand back to back. As the outro plays, the camera circles the girls and just before the last "la" of the outro, they both turn to it and push it up, leaving only the moon LED left in shot.

Vielleicht, Womöglich,
Zeit ist vorbei
And we should say goodbye,
Oh, Liebe, mach,
Mach es nicht.
Vielleicht, Womöglich,
Immer noch Zeit,
You could still make it alright.
Was wird es sein?
Was wird es sein?

After the song is finished, all the lights come in the arena come back on and the home crowd roars for their act. Angelique and Hanna hug each other and thank the audience in both English and Natanyan, with Angelique shouting "I love you Nightton!" as Hanna fights back tears for the reception. The girls then make their way off-stage.

Time to run, you're now running
Running to me
Time to crawl, you're now crawling,
Crawling to me,
Time to cry, you're now crying,
Crying for me.
Time to live, you're now living,
Living for me

Perhaps, possibly,
The time is over,
And we should say goodbye,
Oh, love, do-.
Don’t do it.

Perhaps, possibly,
There’s still time,
You could still make it alright.
What will it be?
