With just ten minutes until the scheduled departure time for their tour of Chu'o Tokai, Ross, Kehrer, and Nate- along with Kobayashi and Kaitaro- took their spaces in the bus.

Kehrer seemed pleased that the seats could incline until they were nearly flat, and Nate was inspecting the large windows that ran the length of the bus.

Ross, meanwhile, was one moment looking at the microphone Kobayashi was holding, and the other staring at the holo-displays in front of each seat.

"No," Kobayashi said. "Karaoke during daytime is an unforgiveable offense. And in any case, it's for me to give you descriptions on your tour today."

The train kept moving along its magnetic tracks, unphased by the diplomatic distaste of Wuchuans and embarrassment of Shtetans. Hannah sighed as she looked up at Takashi, whose expression was now far more relaxed than just mere moments ago.

"Do you know where he's gone off to?" Hannah asked.

"Yes, that was the Higheshi-Chu'o Tokai Park - it is just to the east of our destination."

The President nodded in acknowledgement.

"Do not worry," Takashi said, seeing the distress on the Shtetans' faces. "It is quite alright. Our Federation is very safe; he will not get hurt."

"It's not exactly his safety that I'm worried about," Hannah responded longingly. She took Esther's hands into her own, and let out a tired exhale through her nostrils. A weak smile creeped up her face. Even with merely her presence, Esther always managed to make her feel better.

Not long after, the train arrived at the Chu'o Tokai station.

Sanghyeok wrote:The wind was blowing more strongly now, and Oomiya shook her head to clear her eyes from the hair. Turning back to the task before her, Oomiya felt the power being directed from her body, and shaped it to her will- smoothly, quickly she urged it. And then, all of a sudden, there was a ripple in the magical field that spread across the East bank of the river. It has succeeded, Oomiya realised, and continued to maintain her concentration, both maintaining the protective shield around what Ari and her attendants as well as keeping the portal open.

A brief moment later, Oomiya's efforts were rewarded, when a flash of light emerged about a few hundred metres away. Oomiya could see a few figures coming out of it- Ari and her friends, hopefully- as they landed without much incident onto the soft grass. Seeing its work was complete, Oomiya closed the portal with a wave of her hand. The portal disappeared as quickly as it had appeared, vanishing into the now entirely dark night sky without so much as a trace.

"That was certainly impressive, Chairwoman" remarked the woman standing next to her, looking on with equal parts of admiration and awe. Her name was Seto Ayako, a Magical Girl but also one of Oomiya's trusted friends and guards. "You will have to teach me how to master that someday," she continued. When she spoke, her voice was like chiming crystal- pleasant, but it seemed extremely delicate for this world.

Oomiya nodded, before speaking. "It shouldn't be much trouble for you with training. Your magic level is more than sufficient, and the main challenge is shielding the people inside. Although, I imagine you won't have many opportunities to practice, given how rarely these inter-realm warps occur."

"That is certainly true," Seto noted.

"Anyways, shall we go greet our guests? I heard they had a preparation of pudding, and it would certainly be a shame if it was cold before I had a chance to eat it."

"Chairwoman!" Seto admonished, before nodding. However, in private, she was just as excited to taste this mysterious pudding from another world.

Encouraged by the prospect, Seto led the way, walking confidently towards the party from Kiu, and Oomiya soon followed at a brisk pace.

It only took a moment for Ari to recognize just who precisely was at the head of the delegation: her. It was the Chairwoman herself. That was... unexpected. And possibly unwelcome. She had thought she would have a moment to prepare, to collect herself before meeting with the Chairwoman. She hurriedly shuffled off the gift to an attendant- was it Khens? Yes, that was the one- and ran her hands over her clothes, doing her best to straighten them out before the other group closed the gap.

Too late, though- in a moment the Federation delegates were arrayed before the Ghesites, their neatly-arranged and admittedly quite outlandish costumes in stark contrast with the dull, earthy furs of the steppe-folk, the Chairwoman herself (she felt taller in person, really) flanked closely by a pair of delicate-looking women in... colorful dresses. The Chairwoman seemed to be almost leaning on the one on the left, who had taken point and stood a few feet ahead of the rest. The uniformed woman, if it was a uniform, wore a calm yet enthused look on her face and perhaps more than all but the Chairwoman herself seemed incredibly delicate. She looked like fine porcelain that would shatter if it was touched, but... if the Chairwoman kept her by her side she was surely not so, just as the Chairwoman was not.

Ari spent another precious moment staring at the group before she coughed, flicked off a blade of grass resting on her shoulder, and made to speak. Before she could, though, Vhiari moved in front of her and knelt before the Chairwoman.

Shocked, Ari moved to pull her away- How could she? This was my chance!- but the weaver's quick shake of the head at Ari's motion spoke volumes. If you want this to work out, it said, you'll let me speak. You're in no state to do anything but make a fool of yourself.

In a measured tone dripping with affected kindness, Vhiari initiated what Ari recognized as a formal greeting. More than that, it was the greeting of honored tribute. That was- that was- it wasn't right! It wasn't the place for that!

"Greetings to you, children of Sanghyeok. We are honored by your presence, and by the opportunity you give us to render unto you our respect. Our journey was not a nuisance to arrange, I hope?" Slowly, Vhiari stood and bowed, slowly backing herself towards her fellows. "Your honored selves' reputations precede you, but you may not know of us. Do you wish for us to make introductions?" Her stride was a cautious one, almost shaky as she walked backwards, her eyes lowered to never meet even the Chairwoman's gaze, a task slightly harder than it should have been. "We would be honored to make ourselves known to you."

Ari gave Vhiari what she hoped was a subtle nudge with her free elbow. In return, Vhiari shot her a deathly glare. The greeting is started. If they do not wish to complete it, you can speak. But now you would be wrong to interrupt.

Ari blushed, partly out of anger at Vhiari's taking of her introduction and partly at her failure to stop her. But the weaver's silent warning was right- what had been started could not be in good conscience be stopped. Ari turned to look at the rest of her companions. Patyu still looked... sick, unfortunately. Hopefully he didn't make too much of a fool out of himself- at least less of a fool than Ari had already been made out to be.

But that was something that could be dealt with later. For now, there was a greeting to be finished.

It was quiet here.

The trees, bushes, various statues and ponds muffled the sounds of the city. In a few places, one could even stand in such a position so that the trees fully obscured the skyscrapers surrounding the entire park. Birds singing, ducks quacking, fish splashing about.

This. This was much better. Not as hot, either.

I sat against the trunk of one of the thicker trees, observing the area around me.

A lot happened the past year. Well, if you look at it linearly - the past few millennia. But I wasn't about to start thinking in lines again.

The civil war in Düsseldorf, all because a few potholes were not filled. Bombings of the West Tonbri Galactic Port, due to a disagreement between a Turk and a German over the right price of spice. Racial assaults in Feurio, panic in Ryhayher, riots in Fort Ghamglos, chaos all over the Katastrophestaat.

Someone even stole the Gnome of Cawa.

But not here. This place was quiet.

Too fucking quiet.

I stood up. The Sun was to the left of me, peaking over even the tallest of the metal totems.

Maybe Wawakanini had it right.

I walked up to the gently-flowing springs, passing the statues, whose globinesque eyes I could feel staring at me. The water was cold to the touch. So clear, you could almost see the very currents themselves, like linen textiles being woven together into one long scarf.

Then, from a distance, I heard music. Late-20th century, I think. Maybe early-21st. The birds surrounding me flew away in distress.

Not long after, the train arrived at the Chu'o Tokai station.

"The next station is New Chu'o Tokai. New Chu'o Tokai Station. This station is the end of the line. Thank you for riding and we wish to see you again."

The doors slid open noiselessly, and Takashi led the group of Shtet and Wuchu delegates- minus the Wuchu delegate, of course, so it was really just the President and first lady of Shtet- out of the carriage and into the busy station.

As she exited onto the platform, Weil looked back into the carriage, almost as if she was expecting Kotera to pop out at any moment, laughing about how he had completely and utterly fooled all of them. But of course this did not happen, as Kotera had already left what seemed like ages ago back in Higashi Chu'o Tokai.

Weil let out another sigh, for the first time since arriving looking her true age.

"I suppose..." Takashi started awkwardly, before trying again after clearing her throat. "It's been a long and rather eventful journey for the two of you- magical portals, the seven seas, and the incident on the maglev. Shall I call a car so we can head directly to your hotel? The Resort Akahata has some excellent hot baths, where you can wash away your worries."

In just a few moments, Oomiya and Seto had walked to directly in front of Ari and her attendants. Seto, diplomatic as ever, was about to start the introductions when one of Ari's group stepped forward from the group and bowed deeply before Oomiya, before speaking. Oomiya recognised the person before her was paying tribute and honour in their customary way.

Oomiya was no stranger to this sight- after all, her family had been one of the most powerful in Hei'an Japan, and her parents had been close advisors of the Imperial Family themselves. And in a way, visitors, domestic officials and foreign delegates that paid her visit were also extremely respectful. But this was different in the level of its formality, and for Oomiya it was odd seeing a tradition not seen for many years and eras being reenacted in front of her. This feeling of foreignness only lasted a moment though, for Oomiya had in her centuries of experience learned quite a few lessons on reacting to different customs and ways.

"I would be pleased to understand you and those in the group before me," Oomiya replied, her voice the right balance of kind and firm. "But before that, there is someone else I want to speak to first."

She looked again at the figures before her, and easily found the one she was searching for.

"Ari," Oomiya said. "I hope your journey to here was uneventful?"

October 5 - 12:00 Chu'o Tokai time
All of the Red Square District's touristy spots visited. Lots of strangers met with. As I (Jonathan Skyes) was about to finish today's tour of the Red Square District with a trusty tour guide, I went to a nice, little tempura restaurant in the district where my tour guide had reserved a table for me to sit at and eat my lunch. There, I was checking the menu of the tempura restaurant I was in when a waitress approached me...

"What do you want to eat?" asked the waitress to me.

"I'll eat a bowl of tempura donburi, please," replied I to the waitress's question. Immediately after ordering, I drank some of the green tea that I'd been offered by that waitress, and 20 minutes later, I heard the ting of a kitchen bell.

I realized that the reason why that kitchen bell had tinged was because my order of a bowl of tempura donburi was ready for a waitress to pick it up and serve it to me. Upon serving me my bowl of tempura donburi that waitress told me, "It's time for you to eat your tempura donburi, oeraisan."

I then responded to her by saying, "Arigatou!", and immediately after that, I told my tour guide this before eating my bowl of tempura donburi: "Itadakimasu!"

After I finished eating my bowl of tempura donburi and some side dishes, I noticed a bill that stated, "Tempura Donburi (1 bowl): 300 units. Side dishes: 100 units." Since I'm a Flavezztowlander politician, and politicians from my homeland shouldn't pay for anything with cash, I decided to pay for my meal with my credit card at the tempura restaurant's cash register.

Since my tour of the Red Square District was over after I paid for my bowl of tempura donburi that I ate as my lunch, I decided to leave the tempura restaurant along with my tour guide and take the metro back to the Sunshine Resort, where my presidential suite was waiting for me to come back (again!). This wouldn't be my last tour with that tour guide, however, as I had plans to take a tour of Oda Province with him the next day...

"Could you stop spitting facts?"
"Yes."
"Danke."

"That's really quite the story, isn't it" Ichinose said. It was the first time he heard of a Korean-German who had emigrated to another country out of religious reasons.

Kúrfermann laughed, before replying "It's just the first part!"

"Be quiet!" said Katár, and the four of them were now laughing together.

"Anyways" Katár mentioned. "Let's go eat! Just like Kúrfermann said before he started his life story, I'm hungry."

Ichinose nodded at their response, and together with his colleague guided them to a brightly lit dining hall in the middle of the terminal. It had a sign in Japanese, and then a smaller one in English that read Happy Lucky Star Rice Bowls. Kúrfermann wasn't sure what the "Happy" and "Lucky" were needed for, but the smell was appealing, and so were the images of food on the menu before them.

"What would you like to order, dear customers?" the waiter asked, and the two men from Greatdux paused.

There was a whole host of delicious rice bowls on the menu: curry, tonkatsu, gyudon, and even tempura. What would they order?

"I’d like two gyudon rice bowls, one for me, and for Kúrfermann."

So here we are. October 6, and a day or two before the Chairman's birthday. I'll be going over there later. But for now, let's eat some things.

So my tour of Red Square District was the typical norm. I'd appreciate though all the beautiful I've seen. It's really glorious, and reminds me of my own capital back home in my universe. Oh, those beautiful sites. They're not to be forgotten for as long as I reign.

I walked into this seafood restaurant with my mates. The tour guides had reserved me some food here. Some of the bodyguards followed me inside and pretended to be other customers, but in truth, they were watching me and other people, hoping that someone won't do something sinister.

I sat down on my seat. As soon as I settled in, a waiter approached me. A young looking guy in his 30s, complete with formal attire. I could tell that he was very nervous, as I see him faintly quivering.

"Welcome, good sir. What do you want today?" The man asked me.

"Let's see here...." I said as I skittered my eyes across the menu list. "I'll have some Hotate, 1 Unagi bowl, and of course, throw me some Sushi." I finished my order.

"Hotate, Unagi and Sushi.." the man repeated my order to check if he heard me right. He did. "That'll be 500 yen, please."

"500 yen? Woah, these things must be the finest quality." I replied after I heard him.

"You can either pay in cash or-"

In a dramatic display, I landed my credit card flat on the table. This credit card is filled with 1,000,000 Goldmanian Dollars from my personal fortune and my family's wealth, and I can refill if whenever I want. He cut off his words as I did it.

"I'd like to pay through CC" I responded. "Gotta put credit cards to good use these days."

He giggled in a sort of nervous way. He had a leader of an empire in front of him, and he certainly didn't wanna goof up in front of me.

The man left my presence and went into the kitchen. Around a shocking 30 minutes later, I heard a bell ring. The kitchen bell.

The food was served up, and I helped myself to it. It was surprisingly tasty as compared to what I had originally expected from a Japanese themed land, but it was real good. The Sushi was amazing like any other. Maybe I'd send my best chefs down here to learn this recipe, and we'd be cooking back home at the palace.

The waiter came back with my credit card, now with 500 yen (around 700 GD) less than before. He calmly returned it to me, and I stood up and went for the door.

I would be driven back to Sunshine Hotel to prepare for the party tomorrow. I really can't wait to meet other leaders and their relatives. I'm really impressed with what I had been presented so far though, which was the staple of this entire trip.

Tomorrow is just another day.

October 6 - 10:00 Oda Province time
Another day, another tour. When I (Jonathan Skyes) came out of the doors of the Sunshine Resort and met with the same tour guide as yesterday so I could go on a tour of Oda Province, some Magical Girl appeared in front of me, only to teleport me and the tour guide to where I was touring today - Oda Province.

Upon arrival in Oda Province, I was amazed to see what a landscape the province's citizens had created. Acres of paddy fields. Hectares of vegetable and tea plantations. Miles and miles of fruit orchards. And thousands of farmhouses for the farmers to live in. My tour guide told me that it was different from the landscape of Chu'o Tokai, which is filled with millions of dwellers combined with tons of buildings built for those dwellers.

Unsurprisingly enough, some time after the Magical Girl that teleported me and the tour guide into this agricultural paradise named Oda Province from my accommodation (read: the Sunshine Resort) left us, a farmer working in the negi fields greeted us by saying, "Konnichiwa! How are you?"

I replied to that farmer by saying, "Nice to meet you! I'm touring the entire Oda Province with my tour guide Takeshi on a visit to Sanghyeok for Chairwoman Oomiya's birthday gala!"

"Chairwoman Oomiya?" the farmer said to himself. He then told to us, "You must be talking about that immortal, older-than-she-looks chairwoman of our nation that loves tea, parfaits, and pudding! I'm a vegan, however, so I avoid eating parfaits or pudding, and I drink some green tea instead!" He then introduced us to the fields of negi that he was working in like this: "Look, these fields are my lifeline. I can't pay my expenses without managing to sell the negi that I grow on my fields!"

I soon realized that, by looking at that farmer's negi fields, those vegetables were leek! Also, for some tasting, I and tour guide Takeshi were treated some ochazuke served with negi by that farmer's wife, and the treat was tasty!

As time went on, and on, and on, tour guide Takeshi took me to some of the other things Oda Province had to offer me, such as rice paddies, lettuce, and soybeans. By the time the clock struck 12:25, I'd seen everything the farmers living in this provincial agricultural paradise (read: Oda Province) grew, which was every fruit and vegetable sans avocadoes, a fruit that's been banned by the Sanghyeokian government since two years ago as a strawberry farmer working in the province told me and Takeshi.

A minute after the clock struck 12:25, a different Magical Girl appeared in front of me and Takeshi to take us back to my accommodation (the Sunshine Resort) from the province I was in (Oda Province) via teleportation, and we left the Sanghyeokian province of agricultural wonders with a zooming teleportation back to Chu'o Tokai. Upon our return to the Sunshine Resort, before I could go back to my presidential suite at the second-to-top floor of the accommodation, Takeshi told me this: "Don't think the touring's over for your trip yet, Skyes-san. You've still got one more tour with me that comes tomorrow, which is the day before Chairwoman Oomiya's birthday gala. Am I right? It's a tour to Amagi Province, which is a Sanghyeokian haven for research and tech! Meet me at the lobby tomorrow at 13:00, and a Magical Girl will be waiting outside the entrance to teleport you and me to Amagi Province!"

Ah, what a morning filled with education on what Sanghyeokian farmers produce. Once I'd toured Amagi Province the next afternoon, I'd be relaxing in the evening before Chairwoman Oomiya's birthday gala...

Sanghyeok wrote:With just ten minutes until the scheduled departure time for their tour of Chu'o Tokai, Ross, Kehrer, and Nate- along with Kobayashi and Kaitaro- took their spaces in the bus.

Alastair leaned back as far as he could while still being able to look out the window. As dreadful as he felt, he was not keen on overlooking the sights of this strange and wondrous metropolis that stretched out expansively in all directions. He might never receive another chance to visit Sanghyeok, and he wanted to enjoy his window of free time.

Were he to speak with Oomiya, he planned to address the ideological differences of their nations and how they could complement one another in a diplomatic alliance. Realistically, he doubted he would have the chance to discuss such matters with her. He was still unwell, and, given the state of his homeworld, Oomiya's staff would be very reluctant to let him near her. For all they knew, he was a carrier of a communicable sickness.

While he had been well enough when he'd boarded the bus, he was now a jumble of nerves. He needed something to steady himself, to ease his affliction. Alastair reached into the inner pocket of his blazer and extracted a small bottle of vodka; he unscrewed the cap and downed the bottle's contents in a single gulp.

As he reached into his pocket again, one of his guards smacked his hand and wrenched the empty bottle from his grip. "Enough, Your Majesty," he commanded.

Alastair raised his eyebrows at the man. "Enough what? I have nothing else in my coat, if that is what you mean."

"Remove your blazer then, Your Majesty."

"What?"

The guard reiterated his order.

"Do not tell me what to do," barked Alastair. "I am thy King and thou art my guard. Leave me be, I say."

"For the sake of your well-being, I insist--"

"Alright! Alright." He fished out four more bottle from his coat and held them up. "For emergencies. Here. Watch over them for me. And no throwing them out." He shoved the bottles into the guard's hands and lay back down in his chair, folding his hands over his belly.

"Now, if you do not mind, I shall take a nap while we wait. It seems we arrived for zis tour a bit early." Within seconds, he was lightly snoring.

"Mental health?" he said, a bit shocked by the question. "Well, generally mental heath is a responsibility of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, although research is also done by the Ministry of Research."

He paused, before continuing. "Is there anything you would like to know in particular?"

Sanghyeok wrote:In just a few moments, Oomiya and Seto had walked to directly in front of Ari and her attendants.

For a moment, Ari and Vhiari were in a strange state, each with their actions dictated to them, neither sure which should speak first. By tradition, the greeting had to be finished, but... this place clearly wasn't very traditional. And it would be rude to ignore the Chairwoman's request. Vhiari stood and turned to give Ari a warning glare. She did not turn to look at the Chairwoman and her companions when she spoke to them. "Very well. She will speak."

Cautiously, Ari cleared her throat and stepped forward. "It was... certainly, um, unique, but we are none the worse for it. Thank you for..." -no, be more formal, this is the Chairwoman you're talking to- "for, um, delivering us safely. Your people performed, um, excellently." Yes, very formal. "Exemplary. Exemp- I, um. Yes." What are you doing? This is the one person you need to impress more than anyone else, and you're ruining it!

Ari lowered her eyes and nodded at Vhiari. "Um, I think..." The weaver sighed and stepped forward once again.

"Excuse me. Introductions, yes. This one is known to you-" Vhiari gestured at Ari- "-and I will not name her. Know her given title is Caller. We are not known to you, and so I will name us. I am Vhiari. These are Khensughin, Odevri, Patyughin, Khiedri, Mahadri, and Phendeghin. None here have been given titles." In turn, she pointed at each attendant's face. Only Patyu showed any response, a slight, uncomfortable glance at Vhiari; the others were disciplined in the protocols of giving tribute, and emotion was not one of those.

Ari felt blood run through her cheeks for the second time in as many minutes. Vhiari, well, she had been chosen for her skill with words, but here she was making Ari seen an ineloquent, babbling fool. It didn't help that all Vhiari knew of the Chairwoman was that she impressed Ari, and not of any of her accomplishments, or surely she would've been just as dumbfounded as Ari. Right? Of course. Anyways, Vhiari would need to be given a reminder of what these people expected. Ari was unsure they would take well to such formality. Oomiya had to be entertaining the Ghesites, surely. This was all stupid pleasantries.

There was... there were things to do. They couldn't stand here forever. Surely the Federation delegates had some place they wanted them to go. Ari gently tapped Vhiari on the shoulder and waited for the weaver to take a place behind her.

"Well, um... is there something you want us to do? Someplace to go? Or would you like to, uh, ask more of us? We'd be glad to, well, tell you whatever you need to know of us. It's the least I- we can do for you." Ari noticed she was looking at the Chairwoman directly. Personally. She may have referred to the delegation as a whole with her words, but this little woman in front of her commanded her attention. So small, but with so much power. She would repay the Chairwoman's efforts personally if given the chance.

"For you all, of course. Whatever you would like us to do, we will."

New Goldman wrote:So here we are. October 5, and a day before the Chairman's birthday.

He did. "That'll be 20,000 yen, please."

"20,000 yen?

The waiter came back with my credit card, now with 20,000 yen (around 40,000 GDs) less than before.

Finished with his surprisingly delicious meal, the Emperor of New Goldman exited the restaurant, where another official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was waiting for him next to the chartered car.

"Welcome back. You enjoyed the meal, I hope?" he asked and Norton II voiced his agreement.

"Very innovative plating and interesting ingredients, and the taste is fantastic. Send my complements to the restaurant."

The man nodded, and smiled sincerely. "They will indeed be pleased to hear your praise. That restaurant is one of the most highly rated in the entire Red Square district, and their chefs have trained for many years. Their approach, which you enjoyed today, was the "three fresh" principle- fresh ingredients, fresh thinking, and fresh styling. Diversity in state-run restaurants is one of our Federation's many efforts to increase variety in people's lives while maintaining a socialist system."

They were back in the car now, and the buildings passed by one after another, blurring into a single stream of steel and glass. It was not long before the hotel appeared in front of them.

"We have returned to your residence" the official said, before opening the door for Norton II. "Please enjoy the rest of your evening as you see fit."

He turned to leave, before remembering something. "Oh, and there is one last free day tomorrow- the 7th of October- before the Chairwoman's Birthday Gala on the 8th. Are there any places you would like to visit still? We can take you on a tour of another province, if you would desire."

The moment Kehrer fell asleep, his guards started a fierce conversation between themselves.

"The King is going to drink himself to death someday."

"Without a doubt. And I do not think that incident two days ago will be the last silly thing he does during a state of intoxication."

The first guard sighed, and facepalmed. Audibly. In fact, it was so loud that Ross two rows ahead was able to hear it through his headphones, which were blasting music at 120 decibels.

"We've got to do something, before something worse happens."

"Like what?" the second retorted.

"I don't know" he replied. "But we need to take action, at least during these few days. Perhaps send him to a doctor here and have a liver regrown, for one."

Skyes was in the middle of the hot bath. It was a great idea, really- for hot baths were absolutely delightful, and the feeling of relaxation was second to none. Perhaps we should start importing some of these for our own use, he thought. And then, his phone rang. A bit sad to leave the warm and soothing waters, he reluctantly stepped out before picking up the call.

"Hello?"

"I'm from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs" the voice announced. "There is actually another tour of Chu'o Tokai scheduled tomorrow for the early morning, with some leaders from other nations in and out of this universe. Would you be interested in cancelling your tour of Amagi Province, and instead attend this one? Either one is possible for us to arrange, of course, but we thought you would be interested in this opportunity to meet some delegates as yourself."

Wuchu wrote:It was quiet here.

Kotera paused just after passing the state dedicated to the Magical Girls, for there was a faint sound from far away. It was coming from just past the ridge before him- that green ridge, covered with impeccably trimmed grass and tall trees that swayed gently in the wind.

He trained his ears, trying to distinguish the sound. Music, he realised. And then, all of a sudden, he identified it. It was the opening theme of Sailor Moon, that show from the late 20th century with the theme of magical girls fighting darkness.

Rather fitting for it to be played here, of all nations, he thought. Might as well see what is the source of the song. Having made this decision, he started walking parallel to the small stream, which bubbled and flowed towards him in its journey downhill. He headed the opposite way, away from the statues and the spring and civilisation, and deeper into depths of the park.

Fighting evil by moonlight
Winning love by daylight
Never running from a real fight
She is the one named Sailor Moon!

The last few lines of the chorus of Sailor Moon ended, and Kotera was standing there with a frown on his face. There was nothing before him, but the sound had certainly not been an illusion.

Well, whatever. It was time to put those liberal drug policies of the Federation to good use. Esther had checked his pockets before their arrival- twice- but if there was one thing Kotera knew it was that false-bottomed shoes were good friends for terrorists and happy philosophers alike.

He was, fortunately, in a state of bliss for a short while. His head did not pound, his stomach did not ache. Self-deprecating thoughts did not consume his mind.

Yet, all around him, his guards were chattering anxiously about his condition. He is deteriorating rapidly, they noted. His liver is likely damaged; see, he has a yellowish tint to his skin. And they commented on how much weight he had been putting on. How much stress he was under. He hates himself. He says it all the time when he gets really drunk. He hates himself and believes he is a failure. How have we not done anything before?

Kiu Ghesik wrote:For a moment, Ari and Vhiari were in a strange state, each with their actions dictated to them, neither sure which should speak first.

Ari stepped forward in front of Oomiya, before beginning her self introduction. Well she tried to anyways, although the success of that was questionable at best as she found herself at a loss for words. Perhaps it was the pressure of the situation, or the rather shocking reality of it all, but she floundered rather epically.

The corners of Oomiya's mouth rose in a slight smile as she saw Ari's error-filled, incomplete, and rather chaotic self introduction, but it was more out of empathy than anything else. Exactly like I once did during my first appearance before the Great Chancellor many centuries ago, she thought. Evidently the same amusement was not being felt by the others however, as Ari's place had been taken by the same weaver who had paid tribute to them earlier on. Vhiari seemed rather embarrassed by the whole proceedings, and restarted the self introductions. Person by person, she introduced each of their members, giving name only except for Ari, who she identified as Caller.

And then there was a small silence that followed, before Ari spoke again.

"Well, um... is there something you want us to do? Someplace to go?" Ari asked unsurely. She continued her speech, but from her questioning intonation it was clear that she was speaking more for self assurance than anything else.

"Though your sentiment is appreciated, for tonight, it would be best to rest yourselves." Oomiya said. Hearing Oomiya's voice again, Ari's mind was filled with the image of flower petals falling in concert- for it was too delicate to be a sound a human could make, and yet it commanded a degree of power she could feel. Another thought flashed through her head- it was a contradiction- the Chairwoman loves contradictions. She was wondering if she could redeem herself in the Chairwoman's eyes by saying something along those lines, but there would be no time for that now, for the Chairwoman spoke again.

"I am pleased to have met with all of you today, friends from Kiu Ghesik. You will be in the care of my assistants for now, as I will be returning to my residence," Oomiya said. "I look forward to welcoming all of you to my Birthday Gala in two days." Oomiya turned as if to leave, but not before saying one more thing before she was out of sight. "Do not be embarrassed, Ari. You are young, but have already learned much that that the old and wise do not know." And with that, she walked away with one of the Magical Girls by her side, leaving Ari and her attendants in the company of two of the remaining uniformed girls.

"I am Seto" one of the girls dressed in pink volunteered.

"And I am Nohara" the other said, introducing herself as well.

"Please follow me, to your living area," Seto and Nohara said together.

And so they followed them to through the streets of Chu'o Tokai towards the Resort Akahata. If it had been a normal day- whatever that meant- perhaps Ari and her fellow Kiu Ghesites would have found themselves much more shocked by the sight before them- streams of people, buildings that seemed to reach higher than the clouds, and the immense illumination that turned this nighttime sky into daylight. As it was, however, they were not quite processing all of it, and they arrived at the Resort Akahata without incident.

"Your rooms are on the second level" Seto explained, before guiding them to their rooms. "Please let me know if there is anything that you need assistance for." She and Nohara bowed, and left. Now Ari and her attendants were by themselves again, as they had been a few hours ago. Except now of course, they had crossed realms and were in a new world.

Lisa felt the need to ask taichiro one thing, "so... how much research is done on mental health? I think We'd like to know because..."

Lilith silently looked at the buildings, Her bodyguards quietly talk to eachother,

"Don't bring that topic up, You'll make Lilith upset!" Wallace told lisa, she however continued to ask.

Taichiro was looking at the passing scenery when one of Lilith's bodyguards spoke to him.

"So, how much research is done on mental health?" she asked, and Taichiro turned to look at her.

"Mental health?" he said, a bit shocked by the question. "Well, generally mental heath is a responsibility of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, although research is also done by the Ministry of Research."

He paused, before continuing. "Is there anything you would like to know in particular?"

Lisa continued, "Post tramuatic stress disorder is one major problem, We're still trying to find a way to cure it, it serious affects our leader's abilities to do anything"

Lilith silently stared, and nodded, she knows what lisa is talking about but her mind refuses to think about it.

The two other bodyguards also speak up, "Is there an easy cure?!' bonnie asked.
