Yair Dayan Wins the Ticket to WorldVision 85

After three unsuccessful attempts, Yair Dayan has finally won the right to represent Ertzei Kishim at the WorldVision Song Contest, with the song "Zarim" (Strangers), which originally finished second in Kdam 77. Piping Hanna Semilyova at the end, Yair becomes just the third male soloist to represent Ertzei Kishim, and many are hoping he breaks the unsuccessful streak of male soloists failing to make much of an impact on the competition. His song received top marks from three jury members, as well as the highest televoting score, giving hope to those at HARESHET that there is the chance of a good result. The expense of Kdam-WorldVision has come under criticism, particularly as it has failed to create a top 5 results since Lika Dia, in WorldVision 80.

After taking a break of 10 editions, it has been announced that Nightom will return to the WorldVision Song Contest with Jakob Lundqvist and "Shadows"

After the ABEN nations who regularly participate at the WorldVision Song Contest withdrew, it was looking likely that we would not be seeing any ABEN presence at the 85th WorldVision Song Contest. However, Nightom is set to return in what will be the 40th anniversary of the nation's debut to the Contest. It also marks 30 editions since Nightom won the WorldVision Song Contest, back at the 55th contest. Nightom has not had much success since, but are hoping that the change of direction by sending Jakob will be favourable towards them. Flying high on the recent qualification at the World Hit Festival, it is expected that many more Nightomese television viewers will be watching the WorldVision Song Contest, especially after the nation's withdrawal at WHF.
