"Kanin." She introduced herself. "my son, Ufilo. My husband here," she said as he came up to her side to check on her, seeing no worse for the wear of course. "Nokte. Where you visiting from? How you liking the festival?"

The short walk back to the stand was quick and uneventful. Manya set the heavy net down for her father to take care of. "Now that we got it all, time to really serve you folks up a fish banquet like you never seen!"

Sarah Miller
Kino, Corona.

"Nice to meet you." I reply with a smile. "This is my dad Joel, his brother Uncle Tommy and his wife Aunt Maria." I reply to Kanin.

"We come from the Federalis Imperium of Astares Amauricanum." continues Uncle Tommy. "With our country having recently acquired the Islad Malditas and being currently developing them, some people are needed, and Joel and Maria work there. We joined them for the Festival."

"So far, the Festival has been great." follows Maria. "We bought some nice things from a local store, and even had the great opportunity to talk about various topics with the Matron at the local temple. As foreigners, we feared a bit to not be welcomed, but she did it with open arms. She is a really nice woman." finishes my Aunt with a smile.

Corporal Owen Rekker
Port Aya Hoshino.

"We don't doubt that it will be delicious." I reply to Mayna's father. "But please go easy on us. Viceroy Shina Li and ViceRine Ya-Xi Li already treated us to a nice meal just a few hours ago. They were really nice with us I must say." I add as I sit in front of Abby at the table.

Greater Orcadia wrote:"Which ever sex the baby is, im sure he or she will be a lovelly baby" replies Tricia as Chyna noses in for a closer look, gently kneading Itsuki, knowing something is going on.

Nebo turns to Itsuki
"potentially, we have 3 volcanoes back home, Mount Havaar, Mount Sula'm'buru and Lake Rosen which was a boiling water lake due to close proximity of magma heating the river that flows into and out of the lake, the lake is too hot to swim in, it would quite litterally cook you as the water was around eighty centigrade, however an earthquake today has finally meant that the magma has now become lava and the volcano has erupted, this flashed the lake which no one knows really how deep it is as no measuring equipment can cope with the temperature and no one can get in because it will cook you like a steamed chicken thigh in around 5 minutes"

Tricia turns to Nebo, "whoa, that sounds nasty"

"last time it erupted, Jesus was walking and preaching his thing and the Romans were the dominant power in the western hemisphere, then over the last two thousand years the magma crept to the surface but didnt erupt but since around the middle ages the lake has been a boiler, though Sula is the dangerous one, last time she went off, it was without warning and had not erupted in recorded history. it wiped a town off the map" says Nebraska. "This one could go on for a bit with lava flowing down the river valley, Nearest town is Barentsburg and thats several hours drive away, Its pretty remote"

"Wow that's crazy!" Itsuki said she also giggled as the cat did its thing on her. "Don't know much about volcanoes, most of the ones we have in this part of the world are underwater. It's what probably made these islands and why we have natural thermal pools. thankfully ours aren't as hot as that one you mentioned, safe enough to bathe in, hope you folks will take advantage if you haven't already."

"Itsuki you sure know a lot!"

"You forget, I'm a school teacher! Oooh!"

"Something up?"

"It's fine, I just felt the baby kick. Getting restless in there, aren't ya? Hehe. Really feel bad you didn't have to come out of your way to check on me during the Festival."

"Ah I don't mind. 'Sides if I'm gonna show some nice folks from another country around, really otta show them the quaint side of island life! But hoping things don't get to bad back home for ya folks. Shame if nature decides to be ornery and such."

"Sooo you're the folks who're scooping up all those islands to the south." Ufilo, "I think I went on one, when I did infantry training for my service. But that was a while ago. Kanin you ever find yourself down there?"

"Think my pa and I beached up there during a particularly bad storm at sea. Well I guess someone was going to grab them sooner or later, otherwise they were going to become dumping grounds for expended shells and bombs so glad something more useful can be done. Glad you're enjoying yourselves here. The Temple is great isn't it? The Matron is too. I think a lot of us are more welcoming since the War continues to be a distant memory. "

"All right, light and simple it shall be!" He began prepping it with his wife while Mayna sat down with them "Wow you really met the chiefs? Talk about luck for a few foreign travelers! What are they like? What did you talk about? Or is it like top secret states stuff? Well I mean i didn't take you for diplomats but maybe you are?"

"Yeah, their strategic location, as well as an abundance of ressources are the reasons our government seized them." I reply with a nod. "Although from what we know, since no one was officially claiming them before, we did it according to the principles of Terra Nullius." Ii add with a shrug.
"Anyway, it's nice to see the UIS citizens such as you or the Matron be welcoming of strangers like us, it shows the country is moving forward. And from what we heard, our two nations will most likely be good partners in the future, so that's good."

Corporal Owen Rekker

"Do not worry Sir, we are not diplomats." replies Abby with a small laugh. "We rather belong to the category that comes after diplomats have failed." she adds with a mysterious tone.

"Yeah, we are soldiers, or more precisely, Astarian Rangers." I continue. "The Rangers are the elite light infantry of the Astarian Army, and are considered Special Operations Forces. Abby and me belong to the 44th Ranger Regiment, 2nd Battalion, Delta Company. Our unit is currently tasked with security measures in the Malditas." I explain as I lean back in my chair and cross my arms across my chest.

"Indeed." continues Abby. "Aside from that, what we talked about with Their Highnesses was quite interesting. We talked about Ya-Xi's island and its original name, which we'll give again to the Island that will become a natural reserve. ViceRoy Shinya suggested us for the dishes to take, and we went along with it. He also suggested us to go to Tabby's Point, since we are only staying two days here and we want to take in the most memorable sights." she finishes with a smile.

"In short, I will say it was a very nice moment. They are very friendly, and do not look down on others."

Marcella frowned slightly "Oh my, it sounds like you didn't have a nice time there." It was a stark contrast to Marcella's visit where she felt rather safe and sound. Granted she had two bodyguards in tow and her sister with her. "Nevertheless, I'm sure things will all work out between us all. Even if it comes down to just minding our own. I'll admit, Aurelia, I'm a bit of a push over." Something she only confessed to her parents, sister and now Aurelia. "It's becoming a sticking point of critics of mine. I'm the 'Appeasement Duchess.' It's my great insecurity about myself as Monarch. Maybe I am but at the same time, I also feel like we're not in much of a position to bargain. Time heals wounds they say, I think it also makes people forget. People are forgetting about the war. Both a blessing and a curse if you ask me. Being pushy is what got us in trouble once."

"Hehe sorry if we've been overly prying about you personally. You folks are just interesting to us I suppose. It's nice to be able to talk with friendly faces from another place with other professions other well i think ya get it. We've been living here all our lives but we've become intrigued by the world around us. But at the same time, I'm not a seafarer like he is."

"Ah hardly that, I just have my sea legs is all. I could weather any storm too but most islanders can say that already."

"I just think that's so lovely. People in the world have forgotten the old ways of life. It's easy to look at us like we're just behind the times but I think we're just content with how things have been. No need to throw the baby with the bathwater they say! We just keep things the way we've always known them and let them roll along with the changes. Still that's impressive this man can walk so far and so long. I've walked this whole island before and i can't say I'd want to do that every day."

"Right this way." She guided them to the free table that was freshly cleaned and ready for them. "How about to start you guys with something to drink? Cold, warm, whatever you like, we have tea, coffee and various alcoholic beverages to pick from."

Princess Aurelia bint-Damir.
The Special Table at the Kitan, Port Aurora.

I nodded, slowly.
"I know, what you mean.", I said, "When Grandmother came to power, one of her first priorities was to cut spending for the armed forces and reinvigorate the economy back home - it cost us dearly, mainly in the form of international reputation and internal strife, but in the end, Kyrenaia would not be, where it is, without it." I let a beat pass. "So, I'd say... let the people try harrowing you instead of creating consence. I nodded politely.
"It's alright.", I said and looked to Rena, who nodded as well. "We understand... a bit of curiosity never hurt anyone." I let a beat pass. With our cave adventure done and the tide coming in, I looked to Rena. She gave me a slight shrug. Turning back to our two new acquaintances, I smiled. "I think, that we'll make a walk along the beach before taking a dip. See you two around?"

Aonas Folracht of the Tribe of Wicklow.

I grinned.
"His name is Galen Eidrite of the Tribe of Sligo.", I told my passenger, "He is a Marcach, like I am, and pretty good with the sword. I had the pleasure of training with him a bit and he is quite a good chap." I let Asalcloig make a few steps, before I added: "He is a bit of... a man not in the right time. Centuries ago, he, as a wandering Marcach, would have had a field day, but nowadays... he, too, is of a dying kind. Don't know, where he'll spend the winter. I hope, that it will be in Redruth."

Kitan, Port Aurora.

The restaurant was quite busy.
"Something warm, please.", Branwen ordered as we were sitting down, "A fruit juice?" I nodded. "Two fruit juices, please. And the menu, too, please."
Once the waitress was gone, I leaned over.
"We sure are lucky.", I told her in Tafod, Branwen nodded. "Any idea about what we might eat?"
"Each something different of course.", Branwen replied, smiling slightly, which was as if she had a beaming smile. I laughed, of course we would swap bites. "People here are quite nice."
Branwen nodded. "Let's see if the prices match or if the niceness is just a plot to lull you in for a shock!", she said and I laughed.

"Yeah, especially with the pledge for respect the authorities will ask every tourist to sign before being welcomed here, it will surely keep some of the people that cause trouble out of here." replies my brother Tommy.

"No, we're just staying on Corona, for two reasons. The first is that since those Islands are fragile, our authorities do not want to damage them with mass tourism and many ships travelling back and forth; so that's why every Astarian who is currently vacationing here had to choose a specific Island to stay. And the second, is due to possible storms that might come our way, if we have to be sent back to the Malditas, knowing where everyone is will help to locate us, and not search for us needlessly." I explain to Kanin and Nokte.

Staff Sergeant Abigail "Abby" Anderson

"Thank you very much Ma'am." I reply to Manya's mother as she delivers our plates. As I take a bite, the colorful (yes, colorful, don't judge me for describing it.) flavors invade my mouth, and I can't help but moan a bit in contentment. "That's delicious!" I exclaim with enthusiam, as Owen nods in approval.

"We heard about Stillestando, but it does not worry us much." he adds as he swallows his bite. "As four our military career, we joined voluntarily, but as part of our nation laws, we had to go through three years of mandatory military service after high school. Only after this we could join the real armed forces. Abby and I served in the same Infantry Battalion, before applying for the Ranger Selection. And after some years, here we are."

The Kitan, Aurelia and Marcella

Marcella smiled at Aurelia's words of assurance, she was right, even if the UIS had more ways to remove a monarch through law and process it still would be a very long neigh impossible task to do so. And Marcella not the type to act with reckless abandon, probably didn't have as much to worry about. "Yeah, you're right. I should not worry so much and just do my best. And you as well. I mean you never know that one day you could become my Duchess Consort. One I would very much love to have at my side and take her words to great care. Eeee...." Her cheeks began to glow a bright red and she sheepishly averted her gaze, "I hope I'm not sounding like I'm proposing to you right on the spot...It's just...I do really love you, you know. Whatever the future is, it is There is no need to rush, I just want to know whether you are at my side as a wife or as a good ally we can rely upon."

Port Aya - Hoshino

"A walk sounds lovely, enjoy it!" She agreed taking the hand of her boyfriend as well so they too could go off on their own thing for a while. "Enjoy the festival! It's a good one! C'mon I want to go along the route I saw a while back. So long!"

"Ah yeah." He agreed and waved them away as well as they went along their way.

Corona Island

Kino was now in the distance and they trodded along into the jungle lands more, over grown with foliage and trees. Ayla nodded further as he told more about the man named Galen. "I hope for his safety as well. I mean you could always send him down our way."

The Kitan

"Right away" Their waitress agreed as she scurried off and returned a moment later with two fruit juices fresh squeezed from the local fruits that grow around here as well as a couple of menus for the ladies. "Here you are, take some time to look them over and I'll be back to take your orders." She gave a small bow and left them be. The dishes were varying from quite affordable to quite lavish and expensive. Most of the seafood dishes were on the cheaper end usually less than 50 Island Credits. For the lavish ends, were meaty dishes which could be several hundred, pricey for islanders but probably cheap for foreign tourists.

"I drive for a living, usually containers but have done fridge work, spent a lot of time around Orcadia and its surroundings though soon I will be in Barentsburg, Nebo sorted a few things out for me and they're after workers there, the place is big with a low population"

"and Trish, stunningly beautiful"

"Oooh--A-chew" She sneezed with the cat's tail brushing in her face "This little fella sure is active. Anyway you drive, big trucks right? Not exactly the same but my husband sails cargo around.

"That is admirable you want to be careful for our environment," Kanin replied, "though you could just land and take our own ferrying boats by our own sailors to go between islands. But well it's not as though you won't enjoy yourself on Corona either. I just hope you'll take advantage of all the islands at some point, they're all pretty and have something nice to offer. But you gotta be careful of the weather too, the winds have already changed which means the monsoonal trench will be on us sooner than we expect. You folks are well prepared that's good."

"I've plucked a couple of unprepared sailors from the water myself." Nokte admitted with a chuckle "So glad I won't be having to fish you out as well."

"Sounds like you've worked long and hard to get where you are, good for you! Our nation has a mandatory service but you can chose between military or religious. I haven't picked myself but my little brother has his mind made up to serve in the military and then become a police officer!"

"Yup, I'm gonna keep bad guys away!"

"A walk sounds lovely, enjoy it!" She agreed taking the hand of her boyfriend as well so they too could go off on their own thing for a while. "Enjoy the festival! It's a good one! C'mon I want to go along the route I saw a while back. So long!"

Marcella & Aurelia - the KITAN

"Oooh that'd be so delightful for your dear grandmother to come here. Here am I right? Not that mother and I would mind making the trip to the great Sultanate I just should be certain when making arrangements and plans. And I'm sure mother would like to talk with the Sultana as well, about us and well about anything else and everything else."

Hoshino

The festival is a time of fun and jubilee for most but others it was a good time to give themselves a pilgrimage. Harkening from a village about an hour away a young Hina Miki, 14 going on 15 in a few short months, nearly an adult already. Given this was the time of harvest she was hauling a rather precarious heavy handcart filled with sacks of freshly harvested rice from her family farm. Most would sell it at the village market but she was going to sell it in Port Aya and give a share beck to the temple as an offering for the Goddesses. It'd been a blessed year, a bountiful harvest indeed thanks to the rather quiet hurricane season and just enough rain and sun. Not to mention the safety of her mother who had successfully completed the longest voyage of her career as a sailor and delivered back safely. Last not least, a boy that caught her eye, someone she really liked and cared for and could very well consider to be her future husband. There was much to be thankful for as a blessed girl that's why she had to go pay her respects and make this pilgrimage and part of that is the physical suffering.

Make no mistake Hina was strong but a cart loaded with heavy sacks of rice is still a lot for a young girl but this was just her warmup for her trial of marriage whenever that'd be. Panting heavily, sweat rolling down her face, fogging up her glasses made it hard but she pressed on, trying to keep a song going.

Corona

"Hehe sword fighting huh? To be honest not really, not on Corona at least, more of an old Aurora and Animalian thing from the days of the old Auroran Empire. Spears and arrows however are a thing here on Corona, dating back to old Corona times. They faded for a brief time but when an agriculture program for recovery went array, wild feral hogs and other animals exploded so the old hunting ways returned. Those in the northern villages tend to rely more on game than fishing because of the swifter currents in the northern waters, that's why many of our major ports are on the southern tips of the islands. The one we're going to as well but that's because it's more inland and speaking of, we'll be upon it real soon. Not a moment too soon it's starting to get a little dark and cloudy. Probably due for rain by this evening. It's Corona for you, ya know!" she winked

The Kitan

The waitress returned with their drinks and a smaller girl at her side and a little badge pinned to her that had trainee written on it. "Well ladies, is there something that catches your eye or maybe you'd like a suggestion? Otherwise we'd be glad to give you more time to look it over and think. No rush, we have quality food here."

"mmm mmm" The smaller one nodded enthusiastically.

"Oh I should mention this small one here is my trainee today she'll be helping me."

Cartoonia wrote:“What makes Cartoonia special?”, Jay says, thinking of all of the cultural importance of his native home. “Well, we use a lot of old transportation vehicles around our islands kind of like here. Though I would say our machines are a tad bit more advanced. We travel on steam-powered railroads, we have vintage cars, which are all still manufactured at home, and we sail on steamships, large steamships that could carry a vast quantity of passengers. Of course, that is outgoing to different nations of course, but we still have some big steamships operating that ferry people around the islands. We usually like to create massive celebrations that include music and art. In fact, we have an international parade we host every year to celebrate Easter. I would consider that a great time to visit Cartoonia. We also host many wind bands and orchestras so entertainment is plenty.

Anyway, I recommend some of the local museums and memorials in the capital. It delves into great detail of the history of our nation and the triumphs and strife we went through. If you are looking for wonders, there is this area in Beach City called Crystal Temple Point. It is the former headquarters of the Crystal Legion in the 1960s, a rich tapestry of an unknown part of Cartoonian history. It’s a large cliff with a temple inside. Of course, there are a ton of beaches, though they have the added boardwalks with shops, casinos, and amusement parks, just like the big one in Akane Beach, a beautiful place by the way. Speaking of which, if you’re looking for some European fair, I recommend the province of Ishgar, especially Magnolia, a great lakeside town.

If your in for technology, my home city of New New York has innovative scientists who look towards the future. Those are some of the places and things that I know. I’m sure there is more information if you know where to look”.

The couple has their attention on the two natives.

“It’s no problem,” Erza says confidently. “We are certainly no stranger… of meeting strangers”. She laughed a little. “It’s my first time here, though my lover has been here many times”.

“It’s true. My name is Jellal by the way, Jellal Fernandes”.

“I’m Erza Scarlet, we’re pleased to meet you. Say would you like to join us? We are just waiting on lunch”.

Tsubaki's ears perked up. "My it sounds so lovely there! A bit like the many places I've been too, traveled before, just unique. I'm glad there's still a few countries that hold onto some of the classics. I guess progress marches on but sometimes it's nice to hold on. Well that's from an old soul like me, maybe you feel differently. Either way, Cartoonia sounds like a nice place. It is high time I take a vacation."

"Oooh first time!? You hear that Hatsuo?"

"Yup yup. Gee you don't mind if we join you? I know we're a couple 'o'strangers to good people like you. But uh sure! Oh I'm Sakuya, and this is my sister, Itsuki!" The two took a seat across from them. "We're from Animalpolis actually but we're visiting Aurora for the festival!"
[/spoiler]

“Yeah, I guess you can say that Cartoonia is a place in the world where traditionalism mixes with modernity, I’m kinda indifferent to change, but it’s nice, it’s a reminder of history and where we all came from. Anyway, I do hope you can travel to Cartoonia soon, we have our own festivals and celebrations, especially in the early summer seasons”. He finishes the last of his sushi rolls, delighted and refreshed from his meal.

“Goodness, that was a lovely meal, my compliments”.

“Oh not at all, I’m a person that likes to make acquaintance to anyone I meet and my partner would certainly agree that we like to be friendly a lot. It is certainly nice to meet you Sakuya, Itsuki”.

“Likewise”. Their new acquaintances sat down and told them where they are from.

“Animalpolis?”

“One of the islands here” Jellal answers Erza. “If I know correctly, it is the largest island among the United Island States and is home to a large population of various sub-human species. Forgive me if I’m wrong”.

AHSCA wrote:"Ah yes, you are with child! Many congratulations to you and I wish all the blessings on you." Motherhood, something certainly Satou thought of. Knowing her later mother and grandmother working so hard and giving so much love to her, Satou could only hope to be as good as they were. Tess, she felt might feel the same about being a mom, but in good time, in good time. Right now they were still kind of settling into their marriage, splitting time between Mervay and AHSCA.

Yasmin and I bowed our heads lightly in gratitude.
"Thank you for the good wishes.", Yasmin spoke, "It is my first child, so I am very nervous... luckily, I have support in the form of my own mother and of my mother-in-law. I'll manage."
"We will manage.", I emphasized, which made Yasmin giggle. "I might only be able to hold your hand, but I will be there for you. And so will Aurelia."
Yasmin nodded. "I know.", she said and pecked me on the cheek. Then she smiled at Tess and Satou. "If I may ask, have you two thought about having children? Either through adoption or by artificial insemination?"
I looked at the two of them as well.

AHSCA wrote:Satou took this one again, "I certainly have given it plenty of thought. I think I'd very much like to be a mother! I was raised by my mother and grandmother, mostly my grandmother and grandfather too. Well from them, I feel like I have a lot of experience and wisdom to impart. Boy or girl! I feel like Tess has the same. The way I've seen her mother and her! It's special and unique one of a kind."

Tess Dileva
Sanda Restaurant

Hopefully she could be a good mother for their future child, it was; quite the interesting thought to say the least, but one she was pretty much looking foward a lot. Then again, they were still settling into the life of a married couple and dividing their time between both nations, so they shouldn't rush things for now; it was something they should talk about for sure.
The brunette smiled warmly at the display while letting her thoughts about the idea fill her mind; childs. She did wanted to have a family with Satou, it was one massive step for them to make a family, but yet, it was one she wanted to wait a bit longer; they were yet settling up to this mixed life of theirs and their marriage; but for Tess the idea of having a family with the one she deeply loved was one she was fully on board and would make sure to be the best mother for them; no matter what.
So her surprised expression when she heard Princess Yasmin's question and her wife's answer just made her giggle as she looked at the islander besides her.

"Well, I'm flattered to hear that you have such high opinion of my relationship with my mother sweetie; but if I have to be honest, your grandmother takes the prize. She really loved you a lot to accept me, an city girl to be with you." She remembered that day when she met Sadoko, it was certainly quite the day as she also presented her parents to her later that day. It was truthfully wonderful for her to be able to have that weight off her shoulders that day while finding an friend in the old woman, well now she was her grandmother-in law to which she was glad as well!

"But... I do really have to say that I'm as interested in having a family with my wife as she is, as I'm sure she will be a wonderful mother to them." And she meant that a lot, Satou was certainly going to be those childs will have as well, and she was looking foward to that a lot; to navigate the waters of a family. Of course while she was giving her replies, Tess hands linked with Satou's ones, a slight blush on the face of the Heiress to the Dileva Group that was replaced with an warm smile before kissing her. As soon as she broke out however, she decided to maybe let out a thought of the many she had on the subject.

"In fact, I already had in mind that it would be nice to be a family of four, either through the adoption or the method you had told as well Your Highness."

"Really? You don't have to do that at all."

The older daughter delivered the bill with her younger sister at her side. "I hope everything was to your satisfaction!"

"Trust me miss, I really mean it." The soldier left with a chuckle before looking back at the woman and her daughter. "It would be nice to help out a soldier in need either retired or not; plus I can see that woman means a lot to you from the picture that was showed and all you told me about her." He was completely serious on it, he didn't minded helping at all, for the Lt. Colonel this wasn't a bother.

As soon as the bill was handed over, the marine just smiled while nodding at the question.

"Indeed it was, very delicious one has to say, thank you for the meal." He smiled again while paying the bill plus a couple of credits as tip. As soon as everything was on order, he got up and looked at the mother and daughter. "I'll make sure to advice you if I know anything of her. I assume you are staying on this Inn, right?"

"Plenty kinds! Big swords, Diestandian Trout, those are the most common we haul in for food; occasionally sharks but we don't go out of our way to catch them, just they sometimes roll in with the catches we haul up."

"Goodness makes me nervous sometimes thinking what might wash up on deck. But I know it well. That's how my grand pap lost a leg. I used to fish too before our son came along, so I'm what you would call uuuh a housewife now. When he's older we'll probably be joining together. Or if something else comes up that requires me to go like a crew position needs filling up.

"Hehe thanks! I mean I get a lot of practice with my little bro so I think I'm a natural at it."

Sarah, Tommy, Maria and me nods at the explanations that Kanin and Nokte give us about fishing.

"That's very interesting." replies my brother. "For us, since we live inland and in a mountainous and forest region, we catch fish too in the rivers, especially trouts and pikes. You can either use a fishing rod, or we sometimes put nets across small river streams. You cook them over a fire and add a mushroom and lime sauce, and it's delightful." he adds with a sincere smile.

"Just to ask," I continue, "when it comes to forestry and other wood industries, is it common in the UIS?" I ask to the couple.

"Oh my, thank you kindly. I'll be sure to relay your compliments to Miss Moto, she's our head chef here and sets the menu. Glad you're liking the food, we do work hard to prepare it and serve it just right."

"That's pretty much the jist of it, yeah. Not sure we like being called sub-human but it's a broad enough term that it fits us, well enough."

"Yeah it's okay, we get you mean no harm with it. But yup that's our home, the large island. Though we're more a couple of small time villagers as opposed to the sprawl of Tsubaki's Port. From the north ourselves. Meaning we had to make the trek south to hop on a boat that would take us here. Worth it."

"And it's our last hurrah as kids so to speak. I mean we're teens but we're also adults now. We're going about our service soon."

"Oh yeah" She giggled "Granny can be set in her ways but I know she loves me more than anything and wants my happiness above all else." Tess's idea was four children, which Satou was fine with, be it one, four, or beyond, it would be nice to have quite a few to love and care for. "Four does sound nice. I'm an only child and given my mother passed so young, I often wondered what life would be like if I had siblings of my own. I think I would have been a good older sister, I did often look out for the smaller children in my village, growing up."

"Young Miss, it was a great breakfast, thank you."

"Of course, it's our pleasure. If you need anything else, please don't hesitate to ask."

With the sisters off to their next table she could answer his question, "Yes, we are staying here."

"That does sound great. More inland villages do the same, catch their fish from the ponds and streams." Kanin replied.

Nokte shook his head, "No forestry isn't common here, we take enough what we need for building but that's about it. A lot of the environment was devastated after the war, took a lot to get it back and it's still a bit fragile."

"I can imagine well that after the war, you wanted to protect your environment. From what I seem to understand from the researches i did on the matter, it was a great hurricane that brought things to a standstill, isn't it?" I ask, with sincere curiosity in my voice, and not wanting to bring back painful memories...

"indeed it is", replies Tricia as Chyna decides to jump back down to the floor and make her way over to Itsuki, jumping up on the arm of the seat where she sits, placing her paw on to Itsuki's arm, her tail aimed straight at the midwife! "Though I would probably struggle doing Nebo's job, to me beer is beer, wine is wine and whiskey, well I may be from Greater Orcadia but lets not go down that route"

"Yeah, it was pretty lucky. I guess all the canon fire finally woke up the Goddess and she said she was having none of that."

"None of it!" The little boy repeated while jumping up.

"Well as I was told, it was a sad shift." Kainin spoke next to offer her own thoughts, "Don't take me as insulting The Great Duchess Shino, she was a fine and wise Duchess, as is her daughter, but she had too much uuh light. Oh well, in Madokamisim, we believe everything is a balancing act. Some have too much light, some have too much dark and in the end it always finds a way to balance out. I mean you have a cluster of islands that have their own cultures and identities, it was inevitable something was bound to break. But something broken can be fixed again."

"Actually, I mean time in military service than time in the church. But I haven't decided officially yet, and well I still have time so I suppose I'll kick the can down the road for another day."

"ohoho, there's a story in my family, of a relative, uncle, father, not sure but whatever, anyway said relative was supposed to transport some liquor between islands and well he decided to partake of some while at the helm and wrecked his boat upon some rocks. Best to be careful when nature's nectar is involved"

Chyna patted the arm of Itsuki *meow", more patting followed *meeyyyoooowwww*, for one thing the little bag of Orcadian fur and cuteness knows or it thinks it knows how to get a fuss and so is now trying it on, she is if anything persistant.

"well that probably was not the best thing to do" comments Tricia, "there's a lake that is bordered by several countries at the eastern end of Orcadia, Glislandia, Yellow Star Republic and a few others border it and some of those nations have questionable records, though luckily the last ship that sunk was when some of those nations were at eachothers's throats, it is however showing signs of quietening down on the political front though theres gonna be some fractionalism there which is one good thing about the Aurora Confederacy, they have not had any major conflicts since the 1940s, Im looking forward to starting work there" comments Tricia, "Might even put you through your class 1 Nebo"

"Our deities are quite diffeent from yours, that's for sure." I reply with a smile. "Our religion is called the Astarian Star Polytheism, and we have twelve deities in them, each one the patron of certain aspects of life. I can for example cite Etheria, Star of the Sky and Space; Melima Star of Healing and Medicine; or even Hyrcine, Star of Nature and Hunting.
But our most important deity is Ymir, Star of Life and Creation, but also of Death and Afterlife. The one who birthed the Universe, and the one who reigns over all life."
