Nebraska, ("Nebo"), nods, "yup, once winter comes, it gets cold and dark, however flip side is mid summer, its twenty four hour daylight with the sun still quite high in the sky at midnight, though when the wind whips up in winter, we get plenty of snow drifts however on a clear night we get the northern lights, or as some call them the dance of the gods. Down south around the southern part of the country its more a normal day - night cycle year round. As for the piercings...." says Nebo,

"...its a fashion thing!" quips Tricia, who has an extensive half-body blackwork design which is quite intricate. Tricia however has only black nail varnish on 1 hand and one foot, these being her right hand and right foot which are not tattooed.

"as for the pain..." comments Nebo "most were painless, a couple were uncomfortable though I wont say which ones there, but all the ones you see, the worst was the septum which felt like a sharp sensation but, apart from that nothing." yes she has a few rings south of the belt, and a pair of nipple piercings which are currently hidden by her outfit, same for Tricia. "even my tongue didnt hurt" she says, taking the opportunity to show the split tongue which has a stud through each half, moving each half independently of eachother.

"Eminence is not needed. Matron will do, or ma'am. If you really want to be casual you could even call me by my name, Toka Matsumi." After that, the most unorthodox request came about her generally warm expression turned to one that was more annoyed. She managed to stifle her temper and yelling but she did reply rather curtly, "I don't know what you prescribe to in your daily lives, but do imagine for a moment, me walking into a place you consider important, sacred, holy, and asking you that very same question. These statues may not be ancient but they've come to represent our good health in the days since the war. You want a memento, I told you, you can buy one anywhere, but these works of art that were so painstakingly created by artisans, are certainly not for sell. I'm so glad you're blessed with wealth but that means nothing to me. If you have nothing more, I have other duties to attend to."

The Princess nodded to the clarification of this priestess's choice of address, yet what subsequently came out of this despicable pagan witch could not make Cornelia other than to grit her teeth in anger at the rebuke of her offer at the hands of this ''Matron''. At this, the tall, queenly woman that was Princess Cornelia felt as if something like a dam had burst where her temper valve had been.

На майка тi да еба че те родила. Вещiца такава, грозна, мършава. Дано на бiволски хуй да се задавiш дано. She cursed the woman in front of her.

''Listen here, O' Holy Matron. I don't know what kind of holier than thou convictions you have....''

''Hey, hey, hey - dear please, I don't think we should treat this woman like some lowly peasant,'' Treize said in Cassadian, immediately recognizing the pattern on her face, trying to pre-emptively defuse what could escalate into a vile confrontation,'' I think we should go, you heard the poor woman. I think we should go.'' The Count grabbed her forearm as if he was trying to pull her off of an incoming disaster. This was an ingrained problem of Cornelia, feisty, too high-and-proud in voice, prone to lose temper, and eager for confrontation. Sure Cornelia managed with training with the right professionals to reduce such negative qualities, nevertheless that still went on to cost her the throne.

''LET ME GO!'' The Princess raised a voice, unhanding herself from her husband's grips before taking a few steps in the direction of this priestess.

''Now hear me out on this, Matron. Don't you want to help out your people then, because of this supposed war that you had, huh? If so, wouldn't indeed these supposed statues be worth less than nothing for you if it meant feeding the poor, the homeless, and the orphaned.'' Cornelia remarked in an accusatory tone at the temple's clergy,'' if so, and if you had good heart, then it won't be much of an issue to you then. Or is it because you pray to idols made out of wood and stone when there is only one God - and to answer your question, if you somehow got your barbaric fat bum to Cassadia and entered one of our churches, we, of course, won't have sold you anything because unlike you we don't have stone idols.''

Cornelia's voice was heavy and tense under her breath as if she was resisting the urge to scream at the person in front of her.'' Won't you consider that for a moment, and realize the number of good works your temple can do with this money if you sell them to us?'' YOU CAN AFFORD A THOUSAND LIKE THESE AFTERWARDS IF YOU SELL THEM TO US!

''Alright honey, thay's enough!'' The usually sonorous aristocrat barked, pulling his wife by both hands for the exit, as Honchar went over to assist his lord in the mighty effort of restraining the bullish beast that was his wife.

''I HAVE YOU KNOW - I SWEAR ON MY NAME AS PEACEKRAFT, THAT I'LL MAKE MY SISTER TURN THE WHOLE BUNCH OF YOUR SHITHOLE ISLANDS INTO NOTHING BUT RADIOACTIVE ASH YOU HEATHENS!!'' Was the avowed, hair-raising cry of Cornelia, trying to get herself free of the grip of her husband before she went out of the temple, forced to by her husband Count Treize and the plain-clothed bodyguard.

“All men are NOT created equal! Some are born smarter, or more beautiful, or with parents of greater status. Some, by contrast, are born of weak body or mind, or with few, if any, talents. All men are different! Yes, the very existence of man is discriminatory. That’s why there are wars, violence, and unrest.”Emperor Charles (VII) Von Peacecraft

Corona

"It'd me my pleasure, Sir!" She took his hand, it wasn't too trouble of a mount given her height and his help. "uuuh giddyup?" She still was clueless what it was actually like to ride a horse properly, she'd only ever read about it in books.

Hoshino

"I can't wait to see you look more cuter too! I'll see you then!" She waved them goodbye. "Georgie, they sure were kind don't you think?"

"I do think so, I hope they enjoy the festival more."

"Me too. We should go pray at the Temple. I don't want another hurricane to ruin things again."

"Mhmhm."

The Kitan

"Agreed, agreed! Even on the high seas that's very much the truth for all of us folks! Glad you two remain close, honestly didn't think shared communal bathing was a thing anywhere but here. Well maybe Kyrenaia though, I hear they do it too there but it's different from here. Well that's that."

Rikka nodded along quietly "Are you enjoying the festival so far?" Mizu asked as she now settled down into the water.

Princess Aurelia bint-Damir.
Port Aurora.

I smiled and nodded, following Marcella - Aldhiyb of course right behind us.
It was a nice feeling. It reminded me of the Free Lands.
There, no one gave a damn that I was a Princess and one of the most popular one, too - there, I was only Aurelia. I was a bloody good horsearcher, there, one, who preferred Kyrenaian Lamellar above the Cathéide, but only in context, I was more. If there was no context, I was hardly recognized, while I could hardly go and by a replacement pen without someone asking me to test that one with an autograph in Kyrenaia.
But it was also different: Here, I was with my beloved.
Marcella and I were sitting in a tree, kissing...
Oh, there would be enough of that later. For now, we arrived in front of the Kitan.

Aonas Folracht of the Tribe of Wicklow.
Port of Kino, Corona Island.

Oh, she had much to learn, especially about bareback riding - and she was a bit shy, keeping a bit of a distance. My lad Asalcloig stood still as she got comfortable.
I smiled over my shoulder.
"No need to be shy.", I said, "Come closer and hold on tight."

Nela, Prinzessin von Zieselhaven und Elms.
Port Aya, Hoshino.

We waved goodbye and went away, sharing a glance. Kaori was cute.
"Let's go for a swim.", Rena said with a smile, "She said, that there're shoal caves along the island's western shores, right?"
I nodded. "Yes, she did, but also to be careful during high tide.", I added and shrugged, "Well, we'll see, how we'll manage. And we'll be back in time to get changed for the evening celebrations."
"We promised to look for her, yes.", Rena agreed and stretched. "That ice cream really hit a nice spot...!"
"Walk it off?"
"Walk it off. Besides, it's sunny.", Rena reasoned and I nodded. Sounded like a plan!

Elin Blaidd, of Tralee Descent.
Kitan, Port Aurora.

"It's less communal bathing and more familial bathing.", I corrected, "Sure, there are public bath houses in the Free Lands, but those are a Kyrenaian Cultural Import and they do have quite a bit of business, but generally, only siblings, close relatives and such bath together... and usually only as kids."
Branwen nodded at this slight correction. "Though we became too large for our bathtub..."
I laughed at the memory of the two of us trying to fit inside together with the water.
"But yeah, so far, we are enjoying ourselves.", Branwen said, still smiling. "You see, we met these nice lassies at the Kitan, who we are sharing a bath with..."
I grinned as she winked at the two of them.
I knew, that a little vacation would do her good...

AHSCA wrote:"Well two positive opinions so uh, Kumiko, consider this sold! Maybe something else to go with it?"

"Mmm you know I think Azusa could help you with that, ask her for some hair accessories and maybe a large sunhat. And you'll look as cute as can be."

"All right!" Satou took a moment to consult Kumiko's partner about some extras, gave Kumiko another chance to speak with Tess.

"A travel yacht? Goodness..." Kumiko pondered part of her was tempted to take it but that was so much more than she could ask for or have any right to ask for frankly. She'd be happy on a quaint old ship so long as her wife and daughter were with her and again she wouldn't have to double as a crew member. "That's so generous of you, Tess. It's not entirely needed, I'd be just as satisfied with some expenses taken care of. You know travel and maybe lodging. Uh well do think on it some more, and I'm sure we'll come to an agreement. after all you're right might be best to wait out the virus to finish out before we make great travel plans. You're so very kind, Tess, thank you."

Satou did return a cute hair ornament in her black hair "I think it's perfect."

"It suits you, it really does. Honestly I thought I'd never see you in anything but a kimono."

"I love kimonos but, there's a lot of great clothes out there a girl can wear and look cute and fashionable. So I'll take the dress and the hair ornament."

"Then sold. Actually call this a gift from me."

"Are you sure? I mean the ornament alone has to be 200 Credits and the dress."

"It's fine. Really, call it a belated wedding gift from me."

"Kumiko, thank you a lot. I know you're pretty busy but I think the four of us should get together some time during the festival. Another couples night out would be a lot of fun! Of course I want you to have time with your little girl so no rush."

"I'd like that. Who knows what the weather's gonna do anyway during the festival so we might have a rainy night in at some point."

"sounds great."

Then Tess went to try on a dress herself and again she looked so cute in it! "Tessy! You look so cute and adorable! It's just so you, you must take it! And Kumiko, we're paying for this one, I insist now! I did get paid after all!"

"Hehe okay okay, I'll tally it up for you."

Tsubaki

"It was in the immediate aftermath of the war here. I was part of the first relief team to go in and start the cleanup. Between shells, landmines, and everything else it was a hellish task. Many of the locals were pretty afraid of us but children I guess were curious. Including the little child who found us. She turned into a big help being able to interpret for us. She was so precious and just surprisingly full of life for living through something so traumatic. But still, I could tell she was shaken by the whole ordeal. If I were here at that age, I'd certainly be having nightmares for months on ends if not the rest of my life. I just hope she's doing well today. Chances are I'll never find her in a village so large with so many people. But I'd sure love to see her again."

Tess Dileva
Aurora Village

And so Satou bought the dress for herself and went with Azusa to accessories and a sunhat for her dress while Kumiko and Tess had time to continue their talk.

Yeah, a yacht was certainly normal for Tess and her family considering their wealth, but; perhaps she might had proposed something less extreme, albeit Kumiko was a friend of her and she wanted to make sure her and her family were safe of this virus just in case in their journey to Mervay. But when she heard Kumiko she did also had the point regarding her travel would require the expenses and that included the travel and lodge; she smiled at her warmly before responding to her friend.

"Don't worry Kumiko and I mean that about the yacht as it would be nice for you and your family, plus the virus issue even if you all will travel after it's all over." She told her before continue with the rest. "And don't worry I'll help you out cover part of the expenses there and hand you a few more Albats just in case; so when the virus ends, please make sure to advice me so my wife and I help you out with the preparations." Tess told her with a slight grin just in time for Satou to come with a cute hair ornament in her hair; it was beautiful.

"Indeed it does dear. You look beautiful." She said while her cheeks went a bit red, she looked cute.

Then they heard the dress and the ornament will be free as a gift, it did came as a surprise certainly and after that Satou proposed to have once again a double date during night with the recently married couple; and Tess loved the idea entirely as it would be fun! So she nodded with the idea being proposed if it does present itself and she isn't with her daughter.

Then she went to try her dress and see how she looked like on it before making her mind on buying it. As soon as she looked to herself to the window, it looked fantastic! Yup; she's going to take it with her.

As soon as she went out with it her wife certainly loved it too. And as such she decided to take it and add it to her wardrobe.

"I think that should be all with our dresses, now we need everything for the rainy season and we should be done." While it is fun to go shopping with Satou for these kinds of clothes, they also had to prepare themselves for the rainy season too.

Tsubaki
Couldn't blame her about that, he was deployed to an peacekeeping mission back in 2014 to the Yuktobanian-Apotian Border after their skirmishes and of course his more confidential operations when National Security was at risk and most of them to that same continent and the former nation where he was deployed with the peacekeeping force; of course out those missions he was mostly busy with officework and training back at home. But Eduard understood in a way what she meant, out of personal experiences but also from what he could read of that war it was horrible, worse on first person it was for sure.

"I guess that you can't blame them, the situation they were was already bad and they certainly feared that it would all repeat itself when you and the rest came back there, of course children were different; curiosity is part of them and we had been there when we were young, not the war bit I mean, but the curiosity one." He told her while thinking about what it did felt that experience to her, she certainly had a strong bond with her to come here to see her; who knows, maybe the goddesses of these lands will be kind to make them meet again with each other.

And so he spoke again.

"Perhaps you will, never say never after all." Eduard could only let a slight smile at that comment while he continued. "Who knows, perhaps the goddesses of these lands will be kind to make you two meet again."

Tommy, Maria, Sarah and me follow the Matron through the Temple, finally arriving inside a small grove with a very beautiful statue as well. The Matron told us that Homura would fall for Ymir's looks, I'm sure the other way around would be true as well. A true beauty indeed.

"She is very beautiful indeed." replies my brother Tommy to the Matron. "And I agree with you, as the Goddess of Darkness and Rain, keeping her in the shade seems logical. Just to be sure, I've heard thats she's also the Goddess of Love, right? Do you have to pray to her if you wish for a relation with someone to happen and be succesful?" he asks with a sideways glance towards me.

Port Aya Hoshino.
"Thank you very much." Owen and me reply to the waitress as she departs, before refocusing our attention to Ya-Xi and her question.
"It will indeed be a mix of everything, both military and civilian. A naval base, some airfields capable of welcoming fighters, bombers, etc. The main reason we took control of the Malditas, are the underground ressources that were discovered in the area back in April 2019. Aside from the usual petroleum and gas, the area is generally rich in what is known as Rare-earth elements. They are a set of about 17 metals, used in a variety of applications nowadays, especially electronics. Since only a few places have it on Earth, that means that whoever is in control of a mine of it can make a lot of money, and have some influence.
While our Imperium has some small deposits, we had to import most of it to produce what they are used in, such as smartphones, computers, some alloys, etc.
But the abundance and extraction easiness of the ones discovered in the Malditas means that we will become self-sufficient in that regard, and even capable of exporting some.
So, that, the other ressources, plus the Exclusive Economic Zone rights, means that right now, the Malditas are considered a treasure trove by our government." I finish before taking a sip of my beer.

"Love and lust, my good friends, you're right about Homura in that case, she represents all the desires of people's most inner emotions as does Madoka. So yes you'll find plenty who pray to her for a happening to bring a couple together. I would say though for a stable relationship, better to turn to the level headed White Goddess on that end. Homura will give the passion for those in need, Madoka will see them through. Neither can exist without each other. You know around festival time, it's likely to find either of them wandering among us. Well so says legend. I wouldn't doubt it myself but that's all a matter of faith."

"My my with so much development and so much activity, it's sure to be quite busy in this part of the world." Shinya mused "We've been rather on our own, so to speak, for so long. Now to have this flury of activity it's unusual." This sparked a few things to think about for Shinya, not just about the future of the region but the nation here too. Certainly concerns he would have to try to lobby up his way up to the Duchess at some point. Well that was for later for now his focus on his wife and their lunch guests.

"That's all well and good," Ya=Xi continued but do please be mindful of our boats and ships. Fishing is a livelihood as is sailing for us people. I'm sure we'll all get along fine otherwise. "

"Yeah, I guess it was a matter of time until others started flocking to this remote part of the world."

Super weird, not sure I could do it but suppose ya folks are used to it all so hey! The short walk later lead them along to the Kitan which again as always stood proud the sign showing today's specials for food and specialty bath options. In they went, to be greeted at the receptionist. This one a new girl, certainly as cute as any of the others, and like many others who worked here, animal traits - short round and stripped tiger ears and a tail with this one. "Good afternoon and welcome to --- " her eyes widened at the sight of the Duchess, though she really didn't recognize Aurelia. "You-Your Highness!" She leapt down from box she stood on at the podium to give a deep bow on the floor "At ease, at ease. Today I'm just another person."

"Oh well...W-would you like a table?"

"Well if my special table is ready, I'd sure like that one, but if it's taken, then we can sit anywhere."

"Oh uuuh right...."

Marcella could tell this young girl was new and that was fine. "It's the one in the back, against the windows." She gently reminded her.

"R-right!" She looked over the seating chart. "It's free. So, please follow me!" The young girl lead them on back to the table . "Now how about I start you with some tea, Milady! I'm sorry I'm knew and I don't know what you like--"

"Tea sounds lovely!" Marcella agreed "I'd like milk tea. "

"Milk tea and for you, Miss?" She took Aurelia's order "Right, tea coming in."

"Oh what's your name?"

"S-Sapphire, M-milady."

"Such a pretty name. Thank you for serving us. If possible, let your Manager know i'm here, and when she's free I'd like to say hello."

"S-sure!" She bowed again darting along

Corona

"Oh well I....Okay." Ayla blushed, leaning in and wrapping her arms around him to get a hold on him. "This is certainly different..." She thought to herself, perhaps aloud but now she was in his good hands and the hands of this lovely horse she just helped groom. Well now she hoped she wasn't too rough with the brushing.

The beaches were lovely and pristine, the ocean a clear blue, the sun shining made the sand nice and warm. The breezy winds made the air cool enough to make it really pleasant. Plenty of people had flocked to the beaches already but there was always plenty room to enjoy oneself. Throw down a beach towel or jump in the water. The shoal caves which were marked with a sign and an ordinary caution sign in pictographs, warning against visiting during high tide or bad weather but today was a day to not worry about that. This was low tide right now and the weather was terrific, perfect for a visit. A couple of other tourists were also looking to visit the caves, a girl with her boyfriend. She snapped pictures as he watched and pointed out other things to look at and grab pictures of.

The Kitan

"Ah family bathing then? I think I understand now!" She nodded.

"So it would seem good fortunes and good winds lead us together. Is this your first festival or have you been before? I think this is our first since we became sailors."

"Aaah Rikka is right about that, seems we're always out to sea when Festival time rolls around. Being back for one is nostalgic really, like being a little kid again."

"Hehe you're so kind, Tess. Right I can help you get your provisions for the season change ahead. Anything in particular you might need, Satou?"

Satou thought she did make a list of food, materials and anything else they would need she showed that to Kumiko. "Let's see, I should have enough to cover everything."

"Well if you don't, I'm sure we can work out a discount. You are one of my finest customers in general!"

A little more shopping and gathering later everything was set and paid for. "I'll drop off all your goods myself."

"Oh thanks, Kumiko. No rush, I mean you can do it tomorrow. Even if the rain does start tomorrow still plenty of time. Be sure to spend time with your wife and daughter after all."

Tsubaki

"Hehe that's what I've told my children, never say never so I should live by my advice."

And speaking of who should call out and say hello other than her daughter "Morning mom!" The girl with short brown hair also getting into the local custom of wearing a kimono. "And here she is now in fact. This is my daughter, Sasha."

"Good morning. Hey check it out," she turned about slightly "Cute little girl was giving away flowers to put in our hair so what do you think?"

"Aww it does look cute on you."

I listen with great attention to the Matron's words, taking mental notes.
"Thank you for these detailed words,." replies my brother Tommy, before turning his head sideways towards me with a small smirk. "You see, the reason I ask this is because my dear brother here," he adds as he pass an arm over my shoulders, "has a date planned with a local woman this afternoon. And since it's clear the two of them hit of well at first sight, I would like to be sure it works well for the future too.". he says with a happy tone, but I can clearly see that he enjoys teasing me a bit.

As Ya-Xi talks, my gaze shifts over to her husband for a few seconds. As I thought, ViceRoy Shinya looks deep in thought. No doubt that as Vice Officer for Defense, his brain must be scrambling with all the implications and future possibilities our presence in the Malditas will bring to the UIS. Being in a remote part of the world only to be thrown in the light unexpecidely thanks to your neighbor's actions is surely not a pleasant think at first.

"Do not worry Miss Li," replies Owen with a smile, "we know for a fact that our Commanders in Chief, aka Keisaer Adrean Blachkor and Keisaerina Anna Blachkor, signed some papers with the Duchess during her state visit last July regarding the respect of each nation's Exclusive Economic Zone, territorial waters and everything else. We will stick to our own zone, the UIS will do the same on its side. Each in his own home, and the cattle will be guarded well as the old saying goes." finishes my Corporal with a smile.

"Amen to that." I continue with a smile and a nod. "I'm sorry for all the trouble it may be causing you ViceRoy." I add to Shinya. "But know one thing: one of our original plans was to seize the Malditas, settle there, and keep to ourselves without interacting with our neighbors. But since unfortunately, the UIS is already allied with nations as poweerful as ours, a newcomer in the South who suddenly starts to build military bases and all is bound to make them worry and think of the worst. So, we had to come forward and show our good intentions before someone got trigger happy and would have maybe thrown the area in another conflict." I let a beat pass to take a sip of my beer.
"But know one thing: if something happens, it won't come from our side. We will do everything we can to keep stability in this region." I finish with a determined tone.

I smiled as we entered, the young lady behind the counter recognizing Marcella, but not me. Something I noticed, though, were the tiger ears on her head, which twitched, so she had the Traits - was Sapphire of the Spiorad? Or was she a Migakemujara? Or was she something else?
Hm... maybe I would have the chance to scout that out later.
For now, however, I decided to order the same tea as Marcella and watched her order the girl to get her Manager. I doubted, that she had any complaints, I certainly didn't have any.
As we waited for our tea, I smiled at Marcella.

We entered the beach, where there was quite a lot of people already - not really a secluded bathing spot, but who could blame them all? It was a nice place, the weather was nice, too, and it was almost hot.
We found a nice spot to deposit our things, not too close to the surf and not too far away, but a bit away from the shaol caves. They were marked by signs, which was good, because otherwise, we would have missed them. There was a couple, who were apparently close to visiting the caves, which was always nice, but while Rena was easily changed into swimming attire, she wore it under her sun dress, while I would have to change. Rena just shed her dress and folded it up, putting it into her handbag and the straw hat under it, her red-white tankini looking good on her.
She then turned her back to me to give me the illusion of some privacy - I didn't even take two minutes, but with no changing booths in sight, I had learned my lesson: Better prepare at home before you have to strip.
While I wore everything quickly, I took a minute or two to make sure, that all straps were sitting nicely and snugly, while all knots were good. Nodding, I folded my clothes and put them into my own handbag, then turned to Rena.
"Ready when you are.", I said and smiled as she turned. She took a moment to look me up and down. "Like the sight?"
Rena stopped a bit below my collarbone. "I should have eaten more nuts."
I giggled and we went towards the surf near the caves.

Words at this very moment could not have described how upset Count Treize was at this moment. The scene that Cornelia made with her mood swing was downright dishonoring of her family's name that was steeped in tradition and history consisting of a line of Emperors that stretched for a thousand years, and yet this was what Cornelia, a Princess of the Peacekraft line just did in front of everybody at the temple. He knew about the downsides of marrying Cornelia, and while it was not like Cornelia possessed the qualities of running a country like Cassadia, it was her disqualifying feisty temper and domineering, a pushy personality that was in stark contrast with her younger sister, the subdued, dignified, and diplomatic Relena, or the serious, studious and erudite Euphemia who shined at comprehending the severe stakes of addressing statecraft to striking up small-talk with foreign dignitaries or with other aristocrats.

And here was Princess Cornelia, dragged out by force as if she was a hysterical and misbehaving child.

''LET ME GO, I'LL SHOW THAT BITCH WHAT I'M MADE OF - LET ME GO, LET ME GO!'' The woman-girl cried out in frustration, as she tried to free herself of her husband's grip, gather enough force to slip off her right hand from Treize's lock, slapping him across the face as the hit left a reddish welt.

Treize did not flinch, forcing his wife into a deep, sensuous kiss that lasted for a while. This had a mellowing effect on the queenly woman as she calmed down, feeling as if her muscles lapsed to rest as the sensation of her husband's deep kiss enourmed her with romantic feelings as if the hysteric banter had never happened.

''Don't make us a laughingstock for these savages dear, I think there are better things to do than have outbursts over petty idols.'' Soothed softly the Count into her year.

''The only thing I want is for you to cuddle me hard tonight, honey when we get back on the yacht, these people just made me not stand a moment more on this island.'' The Princess soothed in her husband's year in return, saying it all seductively.'' It just saddens me that I won't be able to keep my promise to bate Lukov, you know his tastes in collecting such innocuous objects.''

Treize stepped slightly off, now having freed her as their bodyguard lingered to the side, a short distance away from them.

''Then I guess he'll have to settle down with something less fancy. I suggest we browse some of the stores and stand further down the street and get on to sailing off this rock.'' The Count suggested something that Cornelia found receptive judging by her nod. With that, they set off on foot as they walked through the dusty street, arm-in-arm, as Honchar shadowed them just by their side. The couple's dabbling with finding what they were looking for was only the beginning. Now all they needed was to find the right vendor, as sellers peddled them their wares, souvenirs, and other charms.

Well they now have everything for the rainy season ordered and to be delivered tomorrow as it was better if Kumiko took this time to be with her wife and her daughter after all. So now she was getting out with this new dress bought which looked great and cute; but of course she had to get her yukata back home as even if she carried it out in a bag, it would be great if left there and then focus on the rest of the event.

"Just to clarify I'm leaving with the dress now that it's bought, which speaking of sweetie-" Tess said turning back to her wife. "We should leave our yukatas at home before we get to eat, to the hot springs or whoever you want to go if you don't mind?"

Speaking of rome, here it appeared her daughter whose name was Sasha from what Celia told her. The soldier smiled at her daughter as she showed both of them the flower in her hair.

"Pleasure to meet you, I'm Eduard; and as for the flower in your hair, it looks pretty and it certainly combines with your hair and yukata." He smiled once again at her before turning his attention to Celia. "You have a kind daughter miss, you certainly raised her well."

"Ohohoho" She chuckled "So getting a little interest with a local girl huh?" She did wonder if anyone she knew assuming the girl was from Kino or at least close enough. Probably, they were tourists but either way it was an interesting development "Well may the Goddesses see you through to at least a successful first date. A little prayer wouldn't hurt at all, I'd think. Thing to know about native women -- well actually -- there's nothing to know that you probably don't already know. I'm sure it'll be fine!"

Hoshino

"Well that's good," Ya-Xi said "I'm sure we'll be good neighbors. Frankly though the trouble isn't so much for us, we're just governors of this fair island rather I think you should consider maybe apologizing to The Duchess because she has to bare all this on her...." Ya-Xi continued in a friendly way, she talked up Marcella more, she did have a great deal of respect for the Duchess anyway. As Ya-Xi continued, Shinya sort of zoned out. At first Shinya thought to reply with maybe the same passing approval his wife just gave but now Abby's words kind of echoed again in his mind. one of our original plans was to seize the Malditas..... As much as it seemed like they dodged a bullet it was a narrow miss indeed only by the grace of having a few good allies. The military colonel in him kicked into overdrive at this moment, what an oversight this had been for the UIS as a whole.

"Shinya?" Ya-Xi snapped him from his quiet reflection

"Oh...Sorry did you say something?"

"I made a bit of a silly quip maybe Miss Anderson here should really apologize to Her Highness...Was that maybe a bit too far? Too presumptious of me? As if Her Highness really didn't know this already.."

He hadn't really heard anything she said one way or the other but either way her heart was probably in the right place. "No, I'm sure it's fine." He smiled as he stood up. "Hey Love, I'm going to go take care of the check right now and use the facilities. Would you excuse me just a moment?"

"Oh sure sure." once he left Ya-Xi continued speaking, she figured his sudden quietness was just his need to relieve himself.

"Oh Shinya he's too formal, disciplined and polite to speak of such things in good company. " She explained to ease Abby of any concern she may have.

Shinya did take care of the tab "Everything to your liking, Milord?" Their Waitress asked them as she finalized up their expenses "Yes, it was terrific. Sorry but could I trouble a spare sheet of your order pad and pen?"

"Certainly."

He made a urgent note to himself, a reminder, come the end of the festival he was going to urgently speak with his boss, the Defense Officer. Truly this was the time to get serious about really setting up a formal and organized intelligence network within the Defense and Foreign Offices. It may not really involve him at the end, but no doubthis boss would want to consider that seriously and get the Duchess on board as well. All in good time. With that note tucked away into his pocket he rejoined his wife.

"Better." He simply replied. "And Staff Sergeant, I hope you don't mind me picking the whole tab. Consider yourself our guest and our treat to you for the lovely company."

The two pretty ladies having to quickly change naturally drew a little attention. Of course the good boyfriend tried to avert his gaze best he could the girl took a few glances but again tried to be polite and not watch. "Uh come on, let's go in."

Inside the caves well it wasn't super remarkable beyond seeing the effects of water erosion on stone making all kind of patterns and carvings in the rocks. With low tide the water was usually at the feet sometimes cresting around the ankles when a nearby wave pushed enough water in. "It feels like it'd be fun to swim in here during higher tide" The boy remarked

"But probably dangerous. Let's not risk it and enjoy what we got. Get a few pictures of me." he snapped a few pictures of her, she of him before they turned to the two girls with them "Uh sorry to bother you but mind taking a picture of the two of us?"

It's one of the larger ships you probably saw in port, a four-masted globe trotting beauty! She'll carry you where you need to go, maybe not as fast as a jet craft but no less reliable! More islanders are starting to stretch their legs, see what's beyond our little huts here so folks like us carry them there and back again."

Qassadia wrote:
''Then I guess he'll have to settle down with something less fancy. I suggest we browse some of the stores and stand further down the street and get on to sailing off this rock.'' The Count suggested something that Cornelia found receptive judging by her nod. With that, they set off on foot as they walked through the dusty street, arm-in-arm, as Honchar shadowed them just by their side. The couple's dabbling with finding what they were looking for was only the beginning. Now all they needed was to find the right vendor, as sellers peddled them their wares, souvenirs, and other charms.

Their riotous scene in the Temple did draw more than a share of onlookers, most who dismissed as ordinary obnoxious tourists a few may see an opportunity to take advantage of a couple of rubes and it'd be well deserved. Another did take notice, one Mayuri. She was a police officer, dressed in civilian clothes. Seeing them truly did make her irate but either way she was here to uphold the law and that was that. She had thought about approaching them to cite them for disorderly conduct but they calmed down enough so no need but still, given the scene they just made she wouldn't be surprised if some unscrupulous characters would be wanting to maybe try to rob them blind. Well right now it was fine but she was going to keep a bit of an eye on them. Well besides that, a short walk back to the heart of the town they'd quickly find themselves at another shop. If entering they'd be greeted by a pair of twin girls, already dressed for the festival, one in a purple kimono and one in a pink kimono, matching bows to go with their color choices. "Welcome!" They greeted. Of course being here they were unaware this was the same couple who just made a scene at the Temple so of course there was no animosity.

"Welcome to our little shop." The twin in purple said and the twin in pink continued, "Anything we can pick for you today? A gift, souvenir, clothing?"

"Directions, advice, general thoughts?" They were young so of course they were a bit playful by doing this little alternating sales pitch to welcome their guests.

Aurora

"That's fine, and thank you again for all your business." Kumiko thanked. Azusa also gave her thanks to them. "Have a nice festival!"

"Thanks, you as well." Tess suggested they should leave their yukata back home a while, a good idea so they wouldn't have to haul everything along all day. "I think that's a great idea." The two girls hastily moved along to deposit their things along and that was quick and simple enough now Satou decided "I think the Kitan is good to go eat at. Might be busy but I feel we'll get lucky and grab a table without much of a long wait."

Tsubaki

"Good to meet you, Sir."

The women both giggled a little "Thank you thank you."

"Well mom does have her military background and I'll be enlisting when I'm old enough so I guess I oughta be well raised."

Prince Damir ibn-Razia.
A street in Aurora.

We had left the Aurelia behind to see a bit of the town - it reminded me, personally, a lot of the Oileánra-Archipelago, if that makes sense. It was the same warmth, the same relaxing attitude, the same business in festival-mood. Yet, it was also a bit different, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
Yasmin, who had never been to the Archipelago, was of course a different story.
She was smiling like a madwoman, excited by every little shop and every little store we saw. If she had a little less restraint, I was quite sure, that she would have bought the whole stock of some of these stores, but as she had restraint, she looked, considered buying one thing or the other and settled on something third.
Luckily, we were both landed nobility with flourishing lands.
But as we were walking along the streets, I also watched out. She was pregnant, after all, and while the bump was not yet highly visible, I did not want anything to happen.
I had to say, though... seeing her smiling and enjoying herself like this... taking her from Munjam, where she was the Princess-Regent in her father's stead, to here had been the right decision. Even if Marcella would never realize it, she did me a greater favour by her country simply existing then she could ever imagine.
And Aurelia, of course, who had proposed the UIS as the destination of our honeymoon.
"Damir, look at this!", Yasmin said, drawing my attention to some stall, looking over her shoulder, "Is something the matter?"
I must have watched her with a content smile, maybe a bit spaced out, and now I shook my head. "No, everything is alright, my flower. More then that.", I replied and stepped up next to her. "Something caught your eye?"
I did not look very much, so maybe I would bump into someone - or someone into me?

AHSCA wrote:Aurora - Marcella and Aurelia

"Oh that sort of depends. How much people know tends to depend on where they live. Those in the bigger villages might be more aware because more press is out there. Remote villages are not as familiar. Or they simply don't recognize you, I mean you do look a little different all dressed up and cute the way you are."

Sapphire returned with their tea as well as Tsubaki with her. "Oh Duchess and Milady Princess Aurelia how lovely to see you both here."

"Manager, likewise, the feeling is mutual! I see you're as busy as ever."

"Quite, business is booming today. Everything to your liking?"

"I'd say so. I know you're busy but I did want to say hello again, I always love coming here."

"I'm glad. I have my hands full but it is good to take time to speak with you, Duchess and Princess."

Hoshino

The Kitan

"That's right, a couple of seafaring gals! I'm the proud captain of the S.S. Hana. Rikka here is my first mate.

Princess Aurelia bint-Damir.
The Special Table at the Kitan, Port Aurora.

When the manager, Tsubaki, arrived, I was, for a moment, confounded. Sure, I knew, that animal-eared folks lived in the UIS and that some animal-eared folks lived outside of it, too, but... the air with which Milady Tsubaki carried herself was familiar.
I have felt it a few times before.
"The pleasure is all ours, Ma'am.", I said and bowed my head in gratitude and respect. If she was, what I thought she was, one of the Spiorad, then I was actually quite disrespectful right now. "I can imagine, that this is a busy time of the year. It reminds me a bit of the Barley-Days at the Al'Arz."

Nela, Prinzessin von Zieselhaven und Elms.
Port Aya, Hoshino.

I nodded at the request. "Sure, leave it to me!", I said with a small smile.
The cave... well, I had seen more remarkable, to be honest, but it was quite interesting. The erosion patters on one hand, but also the implied danger of when high tide came. It would indeed be interesting to swim in here, I thought, as I snapped the picture.
Rena, meanwhile, studied the walls. She was no geologist, but she seemed to know, what to look for...?
Or at least she pretended to.
"Say...", I asked the two locals as I handed them their device back, the image taken, "...by any chance, do you know, when the tide will come?"

Elin Blaidd, of Tralee Descent.
Kitan, Port Aurora.

I nodded.
"Awesome.", I said and leaned back slightly, the wolf ears on my head drooping slightly in comfort, "I sailed on sailing ships a few times, but as passenger. Fun times with fun people." I let a beat pass. "Though, admittedly, we came here by plane. A big amphibian, which carries passengers on hire."
Branwen added: "I can imagine, that there is a wholly different feeling of being when sailing a vessel with sails when compared to a vessel with engines.", she said, "Though I must admit, that I somehow imagine you two in pirate costumes right now..."
I laughed out loud.

And off they went to leave their yukatas back at home so they could enjoy the festival without the extra weight from having to carry the clothes they left early in the morning before changing to their dresses they bought back at The Twin Palms Shop. Of course now for them to eat they would have to find if the Kitan had an extra table before settling somewhere else.

She smiled at Satou while they kept walking down the street; Tess was lost on her thoughts for a bit as they walked down, thinking of the amount of extra activities and credits she had to do to be here for what remained of the year and, quite possibly the next year. If the virus continued worldwide then she could continue her studies online thanks to her having brought her laptop to begin with, then of course she had the option of ask for more activities and expand her timeframe; of course that should rather be thought for later, more considering she bumped into someone else without noticing as she was deep in her thoughts.

Of all people she had to bump into it had to be Prince Damir and his wife, Princess Yasmin; The couple that is already chosen as the successor of the Sultana to rule over the Ilkhanate of Utica and also parents of the woman the Duchess of AHSCA was in love with and was her girlfriend.

Still; she had to apologize as it was her mistake after all. As such, she looked at them and bowed for the incident.

"My Apologies for having bumped into you and your wife, Prince Damir; but I was busy with my thoughts and didn't noticed you two on the way, I'm sorry for that."

Tsubaki

He should had expected such answer considering that she had a point, Kuronami had that obligatory service either in the civil service or the other option was in the military; it isn't surprising that she wants to join the latter considering her mother's story on it.

"Fair point, had you already thought of which branch you want to join or that's to be left when the time comes?"

I took a moment to catch myself and see if Yasmin was alright. She was, even smiling as me.
I turned and took that smile of my wife and showed it to the two, who bumped into us. My hand made a swishing move as I looked at both women - they were... well, I would not say cute or pretty, but they looked nice together.
"It's no problem, nothing happened.", I said, not surprised at all at them recognizing us. We were quite public figures, at least home in Kyrenaia. Don't let it get to your head, Damir...
"He's right.", Yasmin said, having turned away from the stall after thanking the owner. She looked at the woman, who had spoken, she was obviously not an Islander, but now, that I looked at her... the other was one, though. "Say, ya two, by any chance, do you know a nice place to eat? Maybe one not so out in the open?"

After bumping with the Kyrenaian Couple, Tess could see that they were looking at her wife and her; clearly surprised a bit at the couple.
She looked at said couple and thought about their question.

"We are in the same situation at the moment; we were going to see if The Kitan had available seats." She told them before changing curtsying. "Forgive my manners for not introducing myself. My name is Tess Dileva from Mervay and the beautiful woman besides me is my wife, Satou Fujimiya." She smiled at the couple before looking at her wife with the same smile.

"Sweetie, those two are Prince Damir and Princess Yasmin of Kyrenaia, they are the parents of Princess Aurelia."

On the Streets Satou and Tess x Prince Damir ibn-Razia Yasmin

Satou with hand in hand weaved through the crowded streets. Boy there were plenty of tourists this year, though with what was happening in parts of the world that included extensive qurantines and lock downs, it was no surprise maybe some were fleeing to an island paradise. And her thoughts also were on Tess, just how blessed and fortunate she was to have her, no doubt this was going to be difficult for her, having to try to continue her studies here while the wrath of this virus went on in places. My Dear Tess, I'm going to work my hardest for you! What that entailed besides her job, she didn't know yet but she had to give a little something to her, anything. Lost in thought and to their surprise they actually bumped into another couple. Well Tess was kind of leading but Satou should have been paying attention too so she was just as fault. "Oh pardon us, we're sorry." Satou also apologized after Tess gave apologies. Well it all seemed water under the bridge quickly but to her surprise Tess recognized them as some very important figures from where they were from. Satou bowed her head in respect. "Milord and Milady, it's a fine pleasure to make your acquaintance." Satou bowed in respect for the Prince and Princess. Not only royalty but the parents of Princess Aurelia! Aurelia, very likely the future Duchess Consort of these islands.

"Oh, looking for a place to eat huh? That's a coincidence we too were heading out for something too." Their request for something low profile though, that was a bit tricky. The two of them were planning on the Kitan but that's a very popular destination and no doubt would draw plenty of attention. Well if they sat in the dining room, the alternative was to sit in the kitchen which would be private but not romantic. Satou thought, a couple of their stature should have something nice, not another tavern but it needed to be a little more secluded. She then had an epiphany, see Hiromi, whom we met earlier in this story, wasn't the only co-worker of hers to go and break out on her own! "Hey I know a good place! I'll lead the way!"

With that Satou took Tess by the hand again and did an about face, beckoning their new found companions to follow her. It was a short walk down the road, around a couple of winding corners and down an alley into a grove, a rather impressive looking building surrounded by tall palm trees. Entering the interior was nice too, decorated, stylish, it had the markings of a place from abroad more than the usually plain decor of most places. No windows for light only the dim burning lamps on the walls. A little ambience was provided by a live musician too. There were a few guests here already, it wasn't super crowded but busy enough to show business here was healthy. A sign noted Wait for Hostess and below that Festival Special: Priestesses EAT FREE!. Well too bad Satou wasn't a formal Priestess she did have some clergy training but her service to her country was split between military and clerical and it was mostly military.

Their Hostess greeted them with welcoming smile. "Good day, our friends, welcome to the Sanda."

"Good day." Satou felt free to speak for everyone "We'd like a private table, if you'd please."

"Certainly. Follow me please, I shall seat you all immediately." The young Hostess walked them across the floor sitting them at a secluded table in the corner. A little darker here but no less nice. "If the lighting is inadequate I can fetch an extra lamp. Meantime how about I put in your beverage requests."

"Darjeeling tea." Satou requested

"Very good choice, Ma-dam."

Aurora, The Kitan with Marcella + Aurelia

Tsubaki's eyes moved between the Duchess and the Princess Aurelia. "Busy is correct. Busier every year it seems but hardly one to complain. And I have enough capable girls in my care to keep this place running well."

"No troubles I hope."

"None so far, quite a pleasant day. And you were seated by one of my newest recruits. She's already getting the hang of the job already which is always a good sign."

"Well you do a lot for many young women of the islands, I always appreciate it."

"Thank you, Milady! And consider your Meal on me today. And I won't take no for an answer on this."

"Aaah no arguing with you, I suppose. Thank you. I do have a bit of a selfish request to also make of you, I understand it's busy but I would like to keep our table private for us two today."

"Certainly, Milady, I'll be sure to make sure you have a lovely time with us. And you Princess, I hope things are going better back home. I too was quite heartbroken to hear what went down last year. I've been around a very long time, it seems some things never change in the hearts of men good and bad. I hope you know, we're all keeping your good people in our thoughts here."

Port Aya

"Thanks a lot!" She thanked taking her phone back. "Oh, tide huh? I read on the tide cycles here. Let's see....Hun, hold this." She gave him her phone to hold as she dug into her little bag pulling out the information guide. "Right it says tide begins to rise by late afternoon and swells around dusk and recedes into the night. Phases of the moon can also affect how high it'll get. Right now it's a full moon so that means oh yeah it'll be really high come high tide. It's a little after 2 now so I we have a decent amount of time to still enjoy the caves."\

The Kitan's Baths

They chuckled "ohoh us, pirates, can you imagine?" Rikka chuckled

"Well I can certainly see you, Rikka. I mean you already have the look down part way at least."

"But you're right, sailing with wind is a whole different challenge than engines. But my captain experience is only with sail and wind. But I've served on a steamer or two briefly. but Rikka here only has her experience with me aboard my ship."

"yeah, she had more of a start than I did but that's fine."

"Well you came by plane but maybe you'll consider leaving by sea, we'll be shipping out again, well if all goes well."

"Army, Good Sir! Hope to be like my mom like this one, she was Special Ops."

"Oh nothing clandestine, just a greater degree of training."

"Did you tell him about how you served here?"

"I did."

Prince Damir ibn-Razia.
Sanda.

When we had been introduced, we had given small bows - not too deep, this was not a formal ball, after all, but not a nod either. No need in denying the obvious, now was there?
The two introduced themselves as a married couple. Yasmin was, as far as the Change in the Law of Marriage to allow the Marriage of Homosexual Couples was concerned, on the fence, but I supported my daughter and her will to marry the woman she loved by Kyrenaian Rite as well.
"It is our pleasure to make your acquaintances, Mistress Dileva, Mistress Fujimiya.", I said.
When the latter took off to show us a restaurant she knew, we followed her to a beautiful restaurant surrounded by palms, only to be greeted and seated by a woman with animal ears. Spiorad? Maybe...
Anyway, she asked for our orders, I smiled. "Two green teas for us, please.", I requested, ordering for my wife as well. She nodded. I knew her well.
Once it was all ordered, I turned to the couple, who had shown us this place.
"Thank you.", I said, a small smile gracing my lips, "Consider whatever you order to be on me."

Princess Aurelia bint-Damir.
The Special Table at the Kitan, Port Aurora.

I bowed to Milady Tsubaki, gracefully and respectfully.
Yet, when I opened my mouth, it took a moment until the words came out: "Thank you, Ma'am. I really appreciate it.", I said, then gave a small smile, "The evil some people do can only be defeated by the good many people do, to quote al-Hakim, a famous philosopher and wise man from Kyrenaia. And I saw many people do good after that day at the Al'Arz."

Nela, Prinzessin von Zieselhaven und Elms.
Port Aya, Hoshino.

I nodded. "Thank you.", I said and turned to Rena, who had caught every word as well. "Do you see something fun or interesting?"
"No, not really.", Rena replied, then shrugged, "But I am a horse doctor, not a geologist..."
I nodded. "It is pretty, though. Must be fun to swim here during the night." I thought for a moment. "Does anyone have a torch?"

Elin Blaidd, of Tralee Descent.
Kitan, Port Aurora.

I smiled apologetically.
"Thank you for the offer, but I am afraid, that we already paid our pilot.", I said, "Besides, we need to be back at our respective universities on a tight schedule, so... it would be fun, though."
Branwen had an idea: "Say, do you two ferry people between the different islands as well?" I looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "We have a research assignment from our universities and for that, we need to travel around the UIS a bit."
Ah... good thinking, lass!

"Gee wow, tattooed eyes? Wouldn't that hurt to all high heaven and hell? Goodness me, I couldn't begin to imagine something like that! Well I guess there's only so much I can say it's odd and I don't get it, sorry 'bout that. Wait a nuclear reactor? So do ya like, glow in the dark?"

Nebo smiles, "dunno, not something I have had done. Zafferana's eyes are a neon sapphire blue, though as for me glowing, I dont think so, however the great thing about that place, the central heating for the entite block, and indeed the entire town came from that plant, Tricia's place is wierd - they have individual gas central heating for each house, so what do you do if I may ask?"

If she had to say who was at fault, it was hers since she didn't noticed the Kyrenaian couple in front of her even so Satou had her own thoughts too it seemed, well after the dinner they could talk about their thoughts on their minds, so for now better focus with the dinner and find a place to eat for all. She smiled at Damir for the comment before they had to talk about the restaurant. Thankfully her wife then remembered another place where they could eat without trouble and was nice, she smiled warmly at Satou as she lead them to the restaurant with their companions to an alley where they got into a grove where they found a beautiful building surrounded by tall palm trees; it's interior was matched by the style the place had, stylish and with a sense of it having been based on restaurants from abroad and with confidence Tess could say this place looked like a restaurant in the New City or few streets away of Victory Park with both cases being back in Asteria.
She noticed the sign which said they had to wait for the hostess and that priestesses ate free; if her memory didn't failed her, she remembered Satou telling her about that she had training as a priestess during her service but had to serve in the military or needed to have basic military training mostly. Then their hostess came and welcomed warmly to the restaurant known as the Sanda, it appeared she was from Animalpolis considering her tail and ears. Satou asked for a private table to which their hostess replied and led them to a nice table in the corner, a little dark but nice!

They sat at the table and were asked to order their drinks meanwhile they are brought the menu's, to which Tess replied with the same answer her wife had.

"I would like Darjeelig Tea too." She said grinning before focusing on her wife with a smile. "Wow sweetie, how did you knew this place? It's awesome!" It was a nice place to eat so far from how it looked, but they still had to taste it's food.

Then she heard what the another couple told them and she smiled at their offer.

"We appreciate your offer Your Highness but you won't have any problem with it?"

"Oh nothing clandestine, just a greater degree of training."

"Did you tell him about how you served here?"

"I did."

The daughter pulled out her phone scrolling through the photos. "Maybe you've seen this pic before pretty famous one, of my mom there in the blue beret when she was a peacekeeper here. That's what I aspire to do too. Wear the Blue Barret."

Tsubaki
Special Operations huh, well that was surprising to hear; It was nice to hear that as that meant she got quite far to get there and he should congratulate her for it.

"Well I hope you get there." He told her smiling at Sasha before he looked at Celia. "I must congratulate you for it, it's quite the feat and it takes a lot of training and dedication to get accepted and this come from soldier to soldier which also serves in the special forces." Well the Marines and Navy Special Forces to be exact.

A little bit later her daughter pulled out her phone and showed him a photo that he saw back when reading about the war; Two peacekeepers, the first one from Lamoni besides that little girl and the other peacekeeper and from what Sasha said it was her mother. It really became a famous picture for the post-war era if it had to be said. He was surprised she was the woman to the right posing with her pair and that child.

"I see. I've must say I didn't recognized you at first." Eduard chuckled slightly at that; "But seeing you and seeing the picture, yeah I see that it is you. I must also believe that the girl besides you is the one you are looking for right?"

Joel Miller,
Kino, Corona

"Thank you very much Matron." I reply to her well wishes. "I'll be sure to give Lady Madoka and Lady Homura to see this through with success and hapiness. However, when it comes to native girls, I'm afraid my knowledge as very limited on the matter. I'm a simple tourist after all. To tell you the truth, the girl I have my eyes on is Sunplena, she's the co-owner of a small store nearby with her Dad. Do you know anything I could bring as a gift for a first date with a Coronan woman?" I ask with a hopeful smile.

Staff Sergeant Abigail "Abby" Anderson
Port Aya Hoshino.

"As I said, everything's been taken care of at the top level." I reply with a smile to Ya-Xi. "Besides, I'm a simple soldier, and by the time I ask for an appointment through the normal way with the Duchess to meet her personally, my unit will have long gone be sent back to the Imperium." I add with a small chuckle.

While I say that, the reaction of ViceRoy Shinya Li in my peripheral vision cathc my attention. Even though I'm not a psychic and can't read exactly his thoughts, one thing for sure: it may have to deal with military matters. Maybe related to what I said about the Malditas. Meh, we'll see what happens in due time.
As he leaves to take care of the check, I cast a quick glance to Owen, who's attention has been on Ya-Xi the whole time.

"Don't worry about your husband." replies Owen to Ya-Xi, "being too polite is better than being too impolite no?" he asks with a small chuckle.
As Shinya comes back, he says he has picked our tab for us.
"Well, this is most gracious of you ViceRoy, thank you very much." I reply with a large smile as I bow my head lightly in gratitude. "I hope to repay the favor to you too one day, if you'll make us the honor of visiting the Malditas or our home base, Fort Baldur, back in the Imperium."

AHSCA wrote:Their riotous scene in the Temple did draw more than a share of onlookers, most of who dismissed as ordinary obnoxious tourists a few may see an opportunity to take advantage of a couple of rubes and it'd be well deserved. Another did take notice, one Mayuri. She was a police officer, dressed in civilian clothes. Seeing them truly did make her irate but either way, she was here to uphold the law and that was that. Of course, being here they were unaware this was the same couple who just made a scene at the Temple so of course there was no animosity.

"Welcome to our little shop." The twin in purple said and the twin in pink continued, "Anything we can pick for you today? A gift, souvenir, clothing?"

"Directions, advice, general thoughts?" They were young so of course, they were a bit playful by doing this little alternating sales pitch to welcome their guests.

Several minutes passed after the ruckus of Princess Cornelia had passed, now calmed and in a much better mood after the gentle, soothing words and affections of her husband Treize tempered her wayward spirits into settling down into a tranquil state. After that, the Blue Blood duo and their bodyguard went on their way as they passed between both rows of kiosks and stands on which were advertised various curiosities and charms that were up for sale and peddled by awfully annoying for the ears vendors. To Count Treize in particular, most of what these people were selling by the looks of it, even from a distance, appeared to be handmade ''trash'' if the Count could have put it in a single word.

This however did not stop his wife to drag him into some kind of store. At the very least it was not an open-air stand like those of most merchants, away from the stinky humid air of this God-forsaken country. Treize already felt deep contempt for this country and its people, and while his wife may have acted a little out of hand, the Count at this nevertheless thought his wife to be in the right for the temple's priesthood to carefully consider her offer, rather than shoot the proposal out of hand.

This place stinks. The Count thought venomously.

Cornelia unlike the stern and sonorous facial expression of her husband put on a polite smile at the two ladies who had so warmly greeted them into their humble shop. The respectable looked down on the two lovely shopkeepers who had tried their best to make their little shop as inviting as possible. The Princess looked around the shelves of what was up for sale, all the while her supple curvaceous frame towered over the two little ladies, her heels enhanced her stature that without heels stood at 5'10, though with her three-inch high heel shoes she had the consolidation of being half a finger taller than her husband. Something that Treize found annoying and brooded at the fact to the amusement of Cornelia.

''Greetings to you ladies.'' Cornelia chirped,'' tell me, can you present me with what is possibly your most expensive charm or a souvenir you have for sale?'' The Princess asked in an animated tone, all the while Trize brooded and tried to look elsewhere. Clearly, he was annoyed, but....eh, women.

In the meanwhile Honchar stood outside the shop's door, eyeing the stream of people who walked to and from one stand to another as they browsed for something they were looking for or walked up or down the street. However, it was not that which he scanned for, as his shades moved with his head as he locked his glare at a group of ruffled scoundrel-looking teenage boys who were moving in his direction. At this he pulled back his overshirt to flash at these people a holster on which was sheathed a Hi-Power, cocked and loaded to be used as a remedy to whoever was to jump at him or his Lord and Mistress.

I smiled and waved at the question. "Thank you for the concern, but it is my pleasure.", I said.
One should know, that Kyrenaian Princes, especially those of the Ilkhanates were... shall we say... well off, which is to say, that 'stinking rich' was an understatement. That came with two caveats, though, as the territories owned by us (in my case, I was the Bey of Mawjayi and Khalsamak (the latter within the Khanate of Motya, which belonged to an uncle of mine), too, while for example Aurelia was Beyeha of Malakiard near Larsa) paid into our accounts, yes, but we paid everything there from our accounts as well, ideally for positive revenue. The other caveat was, that we had to pay a certain percentage of these profits to the superordinate level of rulership, in my case, that was the Khan of Motya and the Ilkhana of Utica respectively.
And then, there was the more normal owning of real estate, which of course resulted in us paying taxes like everyone else.
Of course, I did not mention any of that. If Tess knew, and judging by the name Dileva, it was not unlikely, that she was in a similar station, then she knew, if not... well, she knew, that I was a Kyrenaian Prince.
"More important question.", Yasmin asked, "If I may ask, how did the two of you meet?"

"Heating? Frankly it's not that great of a concern. Even in the doldrums of our rainy season it seldom gets cold enough here to warrant anything more than a simple blanket to wrap yourself in. I think I read about a unusual cold snap like it getting really cold. Some generations ago 'round here but hasn't happened in my lifetime. I suspect it could one day and we'll make the most of it."

"Aaah Sunplena, I know her well. A gift you need, something simple is more than enough to satisfy her. She's a very simple humble girl. Actually, pick something for her daughter. Nothing fancy needed, but showing concern for her child is enough to get to her heart. She's devoted to that little one."

"Thank you, you can be assured we shall make a visit when you are ready to receive us. Until then, please enjoy the Festival. It's our biggest time of the year. Well, darling, I believe you wanted to go to the bathhouse so why don't we head there now?"

"Shinya, that sounds great! It was lovely to meet you, hopefully we'll bump into each other some time again during the festival!"

"Most expensive huh? Lemme think...Ayame, do you know what we can offer to them?"

"Let me see what we have in our storage."

The twin in purple slipped under the counter to pull out a few things they'd have. One was a handcrafted sword, another a priceless vase. A few gem stones forged by the fires of volcanic eruptions from elsewhere, a classy looking painting of the islands painted by a local artist with real oil paint and real canvas encased in a frame. "Let's see what else....Ah yeah here we go..." The true coup de grace, a necklace with an impressive diamond in the middle. "These will run between 1000 and 10,000 Credits, but the necklace we can't let go for less than 50k. What do you think? Or is there something more special you're looking for? I can send my sister for something you might need."

Outside, Honchar's antics was gingerly approached by Mayuri. The guy seemed a bit trigger happy so best not spook him but she tried to be cordial and friendly. "Afternoon! Seems you got a nice piece there." On the waist of her hakama was her own gun on one side, a sword on the other, the sword was mostly old and ceremonial, a family heirloom and of course her police badge, showing she was police.

Sanda Restaurant

"Certainly two Darjeeling teas for the ladies and two green teas, one for the gentleman and one for the lady. I will be back with those in a moment, please get comfortable."

To Satou's surprise the good Prince and Princess were ready to take on the tab for them. Satou felt just a bit uneasy for now suggesting a very classy and expensive place but again it was with the best intent, given they were Nobility and deserved a classy experience. "Milord and Lady, that's so very kind of you, if you are certain than I gratefully accept." Satou agreed. Tess asked her about how she knew of this place "Oh, well like Hiromi, another one of our own, from the Kitan that is, she's gone to set up this place with a few others."

The Kitan with Aurelia and Marcella

"I heartily support the sentiment of that quote, Milady. I'm glad things are on the mend. I know I'm just an old soul who's made these islands her home but I would still like to offer my support in any way I can. I know it's been a year but still, I want to give my support even just my words if that's enough. Anyway, Miladies, I want to let you to two enjoy your time together, if you need anything more from me, just have Miss Sapphire come fetch me."

"Of course, I'm sure you're very busy."

She bowed a little and made her departure.

"Now Miladies, is there a dish I can get started for you?" Sapphire asked them ready to take their order. "Oooh yeah. Mmm what's today's special?"

"Sea bass with a Mokan style chili powder."

"That sounds delightful, I'll take that for myself."

"Very good, Milady. And you, Milady?" She asked Aurelia "Would you like more time with the menu or would you too like the special?"

Hoshino

"Hum...My phone's light is pretty bright but a long swim or soak in high tide might call for a lantern light. Think just about every store sells them around here. It actually does sound kind of fun and the weather is still expected to be calm tonight to so it'd be like a little pool! You two ladies just hatched a great idea!"

The Kitan Baths

"Aww well that is understandable, you gotta schedule to keep then you gotta keep it and when money is involved you gotta keep your end of the bargain! Hopefully next time we'll get the pleasure of having you as passengers aboard. I assure I'll carry you to safety!" She saluted "Oh you want to know about ferry service huh? Well afraid we're long haulers but maybe I can still help or I'll find you someone who would help. Wouldn't hurt to head down to the pier and talk to a ship captain. An easy way to know is they usually don't have UIS Flags on their masts like long haulers do."

"Hehe I was certainly a lot younger back then, that's for sure. Yup that's the little girl I'm looking for. Well again, I'm sure she's an adult by now but that bright smile of hers just filled me with so much joy then."

"I have a good feeling we're gonna see her again." Sasha responded tucking her phone back into her yukata.

"So, where do we go now? Tabby's Point?" I ask to Owen.
"I was just about to suggest the same thing." he replies with a smile. "Alright, let's take a look at the map."
As he takes the map out of his backpack, he unfolds it, and we look at it for a few minutes in order to find a good way to go to the top of the mountain, that would allow our bikes to go through, and also give us somme good sightseeing points.
Once we have checked all of this, Owen puts the map back in his backpack, and we start to pedal towards Tabby's Point...

Cornelia found the display of the store's best goods with deep interest. Intrigued by the strange craftsmanship of not only the vase but also the painting and the masterfully crafted necklace that was presented to her. Her husband, Count Treize in the meanwhile did not even bother to pay attention to the transaction that his wife was cobbling up. What he truly desired at the moment was to get out of this accursed hellhole as soon as possible.

''Oh my, they are all so pretty!'' Exclaimed Cornelia in a fashion that was animated, as she turned her gaze to her husband, her lips grinning wide into a smile that showed her perfect white teeth,'' what do you think of this honey?'' The words of Cornelia made Treize feel a strong craving at the back of his mind, of pure irritability.

'' It is not my place to choose charms that are womanly in nature. All is up to do you.'' The Count swallowed his high-mindedness for a moment, telling Cornelia in that usual aristocratic attitude in which he was bred in, that he won't concern himself with such petty objects.

The Princess made a pouty face at this, but she allowed for it to slide by choosing to not bother commenting on her husband's act of rudeness.

''I absolutely love all of this. I'll take all of them for 100 000 US dollars if you find this sum to be acceptable.'' Cornelia said with an excited voice, before moving on,'' I don't mean to prod, but do you perhaps happen to own some more spiritual charms and other items of great importance? I am asking because I have a friend back in my country that collects such objects, who is always open to receiving more idols for his collection.''

Treize just rolled his eyes as the pushy Princess went on. He took out a smartphone from his pocket as he phoned back to the HMS Dauntless to have the sum his wife just mention to the two shopkeepers, to be withdrawn and taken to the place where they were at.

The Count did not care if the things she was bought would have turned out to have been dummies of whatever the real thing was. It was the folly of the First Princess to be burned in this case.

All while this was happening. Honchar had the rather unexpected opportunity of having to deal with an undercover policeman of whatever law-enforcement this nation had. Now that he had, Honchar pulled out nonchalantly his own badge, a butterfly-like creature that was excellently handcrafted and shaped from platinum.

''I am Andres Honchar, Knight-Agent of the Royal Guard to the Cassadian Royal Family. I have been tasked like all my colleagues to protect the safety of their persons of Her Highness Princess Cornelia Von Peacekraft and her Consort, Count Treize Khushrenada of Novobirsk.'' The man declared to the woman his identity, and while the disclosure of who he and in turn, his masters were, Honchar nevertheless hoped they would understand the kind of predicament he was in.
