At The Resturant

Now that the unassuming couple were seated at one of the tables at this restaurant, the lovebird couple went over the menu, with Cornelia conveying to her hubby Treize how much she was starving, expressing it with the kind of usual overexaggerated fashion that women expressed themselves, not that it prevented Cornelia from taking a liberal amount of time to do her hair and debate which perfume from the mini-collection they brought with themselves, with Cornelia spraying herself to such an extent, that one could smell the expensive fragrances before one could catch a sight of her.

You surely turned our room into a gas chamber. The Count humored his wife.

''I'll fancy a Fourchu Lobster.'' The tall, long-legged Princess Cornelia ordered the server as she pondered over what next to order.

''I'd like to the oldest wine that you can offer. Other than that, like my wife, I would like you to serve me a Fourchu Lobster.'' The twice-as-older than Cornelia said, who had persisted to be deep in thought what to order next.

''I'll summon you if I choose something for later.'' The Princess postponed.

We'd also like it if your chefs prepare our meals as quickly as possible - we'll pay you four times over what you will normally bill us for.'' Count Treize commanded to the waitress, rather than inquire if this option was even possible in the first place.

Kassadnya and the ever-vigilant bodyguard Oles Honchar each ordered a beefsteak and a vegetable soup, respectively. All the while the Knight-Agent surveyed the environment all around him, especially at the section where His Grace Count Treize Khushrenada and Her Highness Princess Cornelia Von Peacekraft were seated. Jolting a little and on alert, as he watched like a hawk, another waitress accompanying a woman in civilian clothing who took her seat at the table to where members of the Royal Family were seated.

Brettenwald wrote:Lunch was starting to seem like a good idea, so I finished my paragraph, closed my notebook, and walked over to the restaurant adjoining the inn. It was much busier than I expected for such a small town, but then again the religious festival was probably a big attraction for tourists. "Oh, I don't mind at all, I like meeting new people," I reassured the waitress, who was very apologetic about having to seat me with a couple who looked about as out of place here as a cow at the Aurinel debutante ball. Plain but definitely upmarket clothes, posh demeanor, foreign looks. Come to think of it, they were probably the ones with the immense white yacht distantly visible in the harbor. Money does not buy taste, as Mother always says. "Hello, I'm sorry to trouble you, but there don't seem to be any other seats." I ordered the tempura shrimp over rice along with a side salad before introducing myself. "Liane Harkenhal, from Brettenwald. I'm here on work, sadly, but you look more like tourists. Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking?"

The man and woman of blue blood were somewhat surprised by this woman for whom the server personnel had found a place at their table, an unexpected situation to be had for sure. Cornelia for one found this delightful, to encounter another tourist in this otherwise third-world shithole, as her husband voiced his impression of the country privately to her, while they were in the hotel room.

The princess leaned slightly over to the seat of her husband, whispering into his ear in Cassadian.'' Should we tell her who we are?''

''No.'' Plainly stated Khushrenada to his wife, to which Cornelia submitted to.

''Oh how nice to see a foreign tourist face in this strange land. Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Svetlana Kamenova Vojvodina. This towering presence of a lovely bear next to me is my husband, Petarchovski Lyubomir Vojvodina.'' Cornelia switched to English, expressing her remarks in a tone that was bright and animated, lying to the woman in front of her as to whom they really were.

''Pleasure to meet you, madame,'' Treize said in a gentlemanly fashion, getting from his seat as he extended a hand with an open palm for the woman in front of him.

''We're tourists from the fair Holy Kingdom of Cassadia my dear. Surely you may have, or have not heard of our country in the news publications in your country.'' The Count answered her inquiry, he continued by asking the young woman a counter-question.''And may we ask from what land do you hail from dear?''

“All men are NOT created equal! Some are born smarter, or more beautiful, or with parents of greater status. Some, by contrast, are born of weak body or mind, or with few, if any, talents. All men are different! Yes, the very existence of man is discriminatory. That’s why there are wars, violence, and unrest.”Emperor Charles (VII) Von Peacecraft

Over in the pool, Nebraska Sinclair, (sporting a totally bald head with 9 spikes in her skull forming a sort of metal mohawk) swims gently across the pool as she enjoys it's warmth. She figures the spikes in her head may make some people nervous around her as it is not a usual style of jewellery that people go for, as such she greets those in the pool already with a polite Smile to try and disarm any situation.

Tricia, with half of her body tattooed black in a geometric panel design which covers her entire left leg, left arm and the left side of her torso, not to mention a part shaved head which gives her slightly plus size figure a rock chic look swims on the surface before taking a deep breath and going under where she swims with ease, quickly catching Nebraska.

Popping up to the surface she looks to who else is in the pool,

"hi" she says.

Marcella's eyes widened at the last minute as Aurelia planted a surprise kiss on her. Well she'd be lying if she said she didn't enjoy it! No doubt it made the picture that much cuter. "Hehe indeed. How bout one more picture for posterity." She posed again and well what started as one picture became quite a few more of the two in different poses and everything else. Marcella also encouraged Aurelia take a few pictures of the scenery because the beautiful beaches against the blue sky and tall palms sticking up always made a post-card worthy snapshot. "We're blessed with a sunny festival. I like to think the Black Goddess has gone to sleep for a while before she'll emerge from her slumber to cast her rains upon us yet again. Now just the White Goddess to give us her warmth and love."

Kino

Ayla blushed and giggled "Hehe you know how to flatter me. You're pretty handsome yourself, Aonas." She also held her glowing cheeks now. He really did know how to lay on the charm.

Hoshino

"That does sound cute, doesn't it Georgie?"

"It sure does! When that time comes you'll be able to do so"

"Yeah."

Their waitress returned to gather their empty dishes "Little Kaori, I hear right you planning to change to your kimono soon?"

"Very soon."

"You'll look super adorable when you do. And hopefully your new found friends will find you just as cute as we all do here."

Aurora-the Kitan

"Wonderful, I shall prepare a room for you." She let them go onto their rooms to change and stow their things while she and a new worker prepared a room making sure it was just right for when the group would return.

"Welcome, it's all set for you folks."

I took Marcella up on her idea of making a few more pictures for Dad, Yasmin and my own memories - if the incresed numbers of tourists were anything to go by, it might be one of the last times, when one would see the UIS this... natural.
Regardless of that, I nodded at her comment about the wheather and the Goddesses.
"Yeah, seems like She is napping.", I said, grinned, "I don't mind." I thought back for a moment. "It's the start of September... that's around the time of Luchta's Feast... that's a Festival in the Free Lands, in honour of Luchta, the God of Carpenters and one of the Coillteoiri, those are the children of Gavida and Rhiannon. It is said, that Luchta's Feast is the ideal time for the topping out ceremony. The carpenters build tables and benches out of the remaining wood, the house builder then organizes a feast for the family, the craftsmen and the neighbours." I grinned. "A whole lot of fun!"

I grinned. Yes, this was going well...
I brushed my horse and finished it up, smiling as I walked around him once more for a check. "Ya look pretty good to me, lad!", I told my partner, who neighed in response, a certain happiness in it as well. I turned to Ayla, grinning. "He had been calm and collected during the entire cleaning."
I said and went to one of my saddlebags.
Pulling out a dried apple, his eyes lit up like the sun.
Holding it out to Ayla, I asked her: "Do you want to do the honours?"

I nodded to the waitress. "I am quite sure, that we will.", I said and smiled. "Though, before you run off, could you bring us the bill please? If you don't mind, we'll remain here for a few minutes after paying, though."
Rena smiled slightly. "I'll pay next time."
"Nonsense.", I countered, "You owe the boat, I owe you the food."
Rena shrugged. If we were honest, it was less a matter of finances and more a matter of the honour for the two of us...

After we agreed with Theomer on who, when, what and how, Branwen and I went ahead to the baths, which were already set. To our knowledge, the local bathing tradition in hot tubs demanded for the visitor to be undressed, so there was actually little in the ways of preparations we had to do except grabbing the little bag with the things a girl needed to be pretty and two towels.
If the hotel demanded swimsuits, we were ready, too.
I was still grinning about a remark from my dear little sister, that I would cover more skin with the towel after the bath then I had before, when we went down, as we met up with the maid and her helper.
"And we're set, too. Which one will be ours?", I asked with a small smile, grateful for the aid. I hoped, that this question would also prompt a brief introduction as to the house's rules with bathing...

Oh listen to me talk up another girl, hope you don't get jealous" She kissed Tess on the cheek, obviously Tess was the only girl in her life! "A wedding gift sounds wonderful! I think I told you it's not very common here but I really do want to give them something. You're better at this than I am so I figured you'd be the best choice." hand in hand they walked the short distance down to the shop. Thankfully by now the crowds had thinned from the early rush of when Aurelia had visited earlier. Kumiko sill here for a short while more before she'd join her family.

"Welcome! Oh, Satou!"

"Hey, Kumiko and look who else!"

"And Tess, how lovely it is to see you enjoying the festival with your wife now! My hearty congratulations to you both, I'm sorry to have missed your wedding" She bowed in apology

"Couldn't be helped, you were at sea, finding your future wife of your own!" Satou grinned

The women giggled "And how is Mamiko?"

"Still her usual dreamy silly heart self. She's taken to Reina very nicely and vice-versa. Well you're both here to shop I imagine, anything in particular you might be looking for? I have plenty of great stuff from my last haul. If you need something practicle for the rainy season ahead I have that too."

Tsubaki

"Very good, we'll be here if you need us." She left him to eat. From across the table a woman with long brown hair wearing a loose fitting yukata. She rolled up a paper in her arm and moved over "Greetings. You know islander traditions say it's better to eat with company so might I join you?" she took the time to introduce herself "Celia Shepherd. I'm also a tourist here, on vacation from Kuronami."

Tess Dileva

Reina; from what she saw of her it would be indeed surprising what Satou is telling her about, she certainly adapted to the life of marriage very well. It made Tess chuckle when her wife told her to not be jealous, that alongside a little blush when she kissed her check; she loved her dearly and in her eyes too, Satou was the girl in her life too. She let a smile when her wife told her about the gifts, considering it wasn't a tradition here to hand over gifts to the married couples; she could certainly at least with them make an exception as they are close friends, plus it's common back at home as a sign of respect to the couple.

"Say no more sweetie! I will make sure to choose them something perfect; only thing I hope is that they accept considering the tradition you told me which in fact I do remember well..." She kept grinning while they took hands, by then they got moving to the shop and thankfully the busy hours were getting over as it was far more calm than expected.

Kumiko was there when she recived the couple with a smile on her face, which in turn Tess smiled back when spoke about her and leaving a bow to her in respect while the two spoke. She then asked to see what the two needed since they were shopping and in fact; she had a few ideas of what to buy. Some clothes and then anything they need for the next rainy season and of course, the happy married couple gifts, in her own store. Well if not then they could always ask and see if they could get it somewhere else??

"As a matter of fact, we do need some stuff for the next rainy season so that should be one of the things to work out as the other. Well; something for a pair of friends of ours and some new clothes." She said turning to her wife to that.

"Are you interested on a dress sweetie??"

Eduard De La Mercant
Tsubaki Village

It appeared he had guests today as a brown haired woman with a loose yukata came; well he couldn't blame her to join in, albeit most tables were empty, the soldier noticed her rolling a paper oddly enough, he only thought about it briefly before smiling at her.

"I wouldn't see a problem miss; besides is all full." He grinned at the small joke while nodding her to seat. Celia huh? Such a nice name. "Eduard De La Mercant of Mervay; at your service young lady." The soldier spoke with a grin while bowing at her.

"I suppose you figured I was a tourist from the uniform I believe right? So what brings you from Kuronami to AHSCA if I may ask??"

"Indeed, spoken like a true soldier." I reply, before Owen and I let out a loud "Oh really?!" Ya-Xi tells us that her husband Shinya is the Deputy Defense Officer of the UIS.
"Well Sir," continues Owen, "it goes without saying that when we'll be finished with settling the Malditas, you'll be more than welcome to visit to give you an impression of the bases and all we've settled." he says with a wide smile.
"Owen, don't put the cart before the horse." I continue as I pat his hand, before turning to the Governors. "Of course, such a move would have to be cleared wih our higher ups, but I'm sure they would love to welcome you for a visit. Anyway Mr Li, if I may ask, how were you chosen for this position as Deputy Defense Officer?"

"Exactly so, we gotta have humor or our lives would be as dreary as an Island Monsoon."

"Whatever you say, Matron." Her counterpart sighed a bit but she went along with it.

"Bad weather huh, in that case many folks just have large palm leaves or umbrellas if they wish to endure the rain. But if it's paticularly rough then we encourage people to take up any of the rooms and The Priestesses under my care can talk to folks that way. I also will do the same by making rounds. "Thanks, I'd appreciate that a lot. Sorry if my wife had to kind of throw my title out to push you along, I didn't want to feel like you were compelled like she said, I'm the Deputy"

"Come on Shinya, don't be modest. One day you could be the Officer! But until then..." She sipped her tea

"Anyway, my former CO is the current Defense Officer. He naturally has a lot of experience on me so it's not a surprise he got the position. He made up a short list of those in his command he'd feel would be good to work with him, so he came to me. Don't know where I fell on the list but he said I have a strong knack for strategy and studying."

"Shinya could very well teach a course in military studies or history and be great at it. Or he could build a ship with his own two hands."

She nuzzled him

"I think the tea is getting to you, dear." He chuckled a little bashfully

"That and the festival."

"Well you can see, she's crazy about me, I'm crazy about her."

The littlest one was a bit put off by the unusual appearance of the strangers while the older was perfectly content and cheery.

Satou nodded at Kumiko and Tess about gearing up for the season ahead. it could be a pretty rough one all things considered. "Yes, Kumiko I agree. Maybe some extra food stock and lantern fuel to start and if it gets cooler with rain something a bit warm for kimono or dress."

"Then I got perfect styles here. I went to Mervay just over a month ago and picked out some really cute dresses for girls and women. I thought about getting some mens clothes but those just don't seem to move last time I tried it." Kumiko showed them just about everything and anything they might need from their practical needs for the season ahead to something they could afford to be a little frivolous on. "Need something for work, Satou?"

"I could use new shoes for sure, mine are starting to wear."

"Good I got something in your size. How about you, Tess?"

Satou found a dress she really liked "I think I'm gonna try this one, back in a moment"

"Go right ahead." This was actually a nice time to talk with Tess a moment "You seem to be settling in with Satou very nicely. Really taking to island life like a fish to water even" she giggle a bit.

Tsubaki

"Hehe I thought as much. Seeing you in uniform brought back memories for me. Oh let me make a long story short, when I was in the Kuronami Army, I served a tour of duty here. I'd always wanted to come back but before I knew it, I was married and had a family and life responsibilities. This year I brought my daughter along to come see the Festival and what it's all about. Also been hoping to find someone here to see how they're doing."

She was briefly interrupted by the young waitress "Oh here is your tea, miss."

"Thank you very much."

"Everything to your liking sir?"

We listen to the Matron's explanation with attention, before Sarah raises her hand once she's finished.
"How much time did it took to build this Temple?" asks my daughter following the last part of the Matron's explanation. "And was it damaged or destroyed and then rebuilt in the past?"

"Don't be sorry, "I reply with a raised hand and a smile," we don't feel compelled at all. At least you earned your position through experience and skill, this seems to become rarer and rarer these days." I add with a sigh.
"I don't doubt that you would be great with military history and all, Mr Li." continues Owen. "But building a ship with your own hands, I hope we're not talking about an aircraft carrier or a landing helicopter dock here." he adds with a joking tone and a small laugh.

"Some time you and I really must go away together to a festival in the Freelands or wherever. Even us Royals need a vacation once in a while don't ya think?" She winked and smiled in a playful way. Who knows if either could make it happen but Marcella simply wanted to throw that out there to think about. "A festival like that sounds just as fun as this one here."

Corona

"I agree, looks like a new horse! Bet he feels like one too. Oh I would love too" She took the apple from his hand and gingerly offered it up. "Bet you're hungry and would like this tasty apple? It's bound to be juicy and sweet."

Poart Aya

"Certainly and feel free to stay as long as you like, especially friends of our Kaori here! Though don't stay too long that your ma worries about you"

"Don't worry, I won't."

She tallied up their whole bill, all in all about 40 Credits, not bad, a lot of discounts for festival time.

"H-Here, I wanna help too." Kaori offered she had about Two Credits on her in two shiny coins, "You've been very nice to me and Georgie here, mama would want me to make sure that I show that I'm thankful for you."

The Kitan

The attendant saw they were gathered and she lead them "Follow me just down here." She opened the door which separated the hall to the change station for those who needed it . "If this is your first time please allow me to go over etiquette. Please refrain from towel bathing in the water, if you desire swim attire, we'll be fine but traditionally this is a place to be fully undressed. Be mindful of other guests by keeping your noise to a minimum and enjoy yourselves. Remember bathing is to cleanse the soul before the Goddesses. If you need any help, do not hesitate to ask. "

That done, we entered the bath without towels and without a scrap of cloth. Since their settling in a couple others had joined an older female, probably late teens with a much younger child at her side. "Oh hello!" The oldest said "Hope ya don't mind if we join you do you? If you'd rather be by yer selves we can find another pool."

The littlest one was a bit put off by the unusual appearance of the strangers while the older was perfectly content and cheery.

Nebraska turned to the elder woman who was presumably the child's mother, "Feel free, we don't bite" she says in a happy voice as Tricia leaned back against the wall of the pool, enjoying the warm water. Tricia, sporting several ear rings, a septum ring with a chain to one of her ear rings which was in one of her flesh tunnels, (more commonly known as gaugings by some), a lip ring. By the looks of her bikini, she also sported a pair of nipple rings, though her panel design tattoo is quite intricate, she also has nail varnish on one hand only, the hand that isn't tattooed!

Nebraska, as well as the spikes, also sported a few additional ear rings including a pair of gauging tubes in her ears, a lip ring, septum ring with a chain to one of the rings in her gauging tubes in her ears, Like Tricia she also looked to sport nipple rings, as she spoke to the young woman, Nebraska made no attempts to hide the fact that she also had a surgically split tongue with a stud in each half, but wasn't flaunting it either so if its spotted it's spotted, if not then no one is any wiser, yet despite this body sculpting, Tricia's girlfriend is polite, friendly, the sort of personality you'd expect from someone who used to work behind a bar, for Nebraska was one of the bar staff at Ryan Halvaarsson's bar in the centre of Barentsburg, "The Northern Cross"

"Very interesting." replies my brother Tommy, as we nod in approval, once the Matron has finished her explanation. "We also believe, as followers of Astarian Star Polytheism, that building something is a way to honor our Gods and Goddesses, but when it comes to Temples and other sanctuaries, we prefer to build them so that they are durable, and stand for a long time.
-Indeed." I continue "Although when it comes to living a humble lifestyle, a priest told me when I was a child that it does not really matter to the Stars. As long as you can get along with others and not be an outright monster, that's all you need to be looked favourably at by Ymir and the others. Ymir is our main Goddess by the way, the Star of Life and Creation, but also of Death and Afterlife." I add for clarification.

Once the two locals were in the pool, Nebraska and Tricia turned to them "After thirty hours of travel, its nice to have the journey here out of the way, You guys from this island or one of the others??" asks Nebraska.

--

Meanwhile, over in Kino
"You've certainly come to a good place if you like weather. Corona and the islands are known for having some pretty intense weather. Well we aren't expecting anything major until after the festival but Corona usually has good thunderstorms that crop up in the late day or night hours. I'm sure you'll see some. So please enjoy your stay."

From their room it was a straight view onto the expansive ocean. Around them tall palm trees curved over with their might leaves draping a nice gentle shadow to keep out of the sun. Little boats with their sails at full could be seen as well as some larger ships preparing to head overseas. Rocky formations off the far left or right from the cove. A lovely breeze kept it pleasant today.

Kyrksen smiles, "oh we will enjoy our stay" he says as Sojourner takes some photos of the rock formations from the window.

"Kyrk, might be worth going over there i think" Says Sojourner

"Yeah, though we best check to see what the access is like, dont want to get cut off by the tide" he replies.

Kyrksen looks at the notes scribbled down by Sojourner before checking the guide pamphlets that are in the room, he is looking for signs of historical importance and also the itintery of the festival in Kino

I nodded. "Yeah, Kyrenaia has a lot of beautiful places, too...", I said and nodded again, "The Khanate of Tanin, for example... or the Dry Marshes... or Oea... but any place, no matter how beautiful, will be all the more shining when you are there..."
I took her hand and smiled, wanted to add something more, wanted to tell her so many more things...
...in the end, my stomach took over the talking by growling.
I was silent, blushed.
Then I burst out laughing.

"Hm...", I made, looking her up and down. "I can say for sure, that I like, who that made you into."
I let a beat pass, Asalcloig gave a soft neigh.
"He seems to agree.", I said and petted his flank. "I think, I promised you a ride back in the Free Lands. Wanna go now or do you have any other plans for the two of us?"
Now, the question, which I realized with some delay, was... who did I mean by the two of us? Me or Ayla or me and Asalcloig?

Nela, Prinzessin von Zieselhaven und Elms.
Port Aya, Hoshino.

I smiled.
"We might be nice, but you, my dear Kaori, are just the sweetest.", I said and Rena nodded, grinning from ear to ear. "Maybe even sweeter then the ice cream." I went down to a knee, to Kaori's eye level. "Now, I am sure, that the young gentleman on your arm and you would love to explore the festival a bit more, so the two of us won't keep you for too long."
Rena nodded. "Yeah, don't wanna be third and fourth wheels, ya two.", she added.
"See ya later, you two?", I asked with a smile.

Elin Blaidd, of Tralee Descent.
Kitan, Port Aurora.

I scooched over a bit to make more room. "Of course there is! Come in!"
Technically, for the two of them, there was enough space even without me moving, but the two seemed close and I had moved a bit over to my sister so that the two of them could stay together - a Captain and a young woman named Rikka, both seemed to be natives. One, the Captain, was a pinkette, the other, Rikka, a purplehead with an eyepatch, though it did not seem to be a short-term medical one.
"I am Elin, that is my sister Branwen.", I said with a smile.
"Hi.", Branwen said, "Pleasure to meet you two."

"I could use new shoes for sure, mine are starting to wear."

"Good I got something in your size. How about you, Tess?"

Satou found a dress she really liked "I think I'm gonna try this one, back in a moment"

Adding to the list of all things to buy, supplies and lantern fuel alongside clothes, perhaps also a generator for her electrical devices which were her cellphone and laptop she brought with, but then again they were solar powered already and she had solar portable charges too. So yeah, that won't be concerning.

As for clothes meanwhile, she had enough for her stay; but it wouldn't be too bad to have some extra sets in practical and a bit more good looking clothes. She glared at the clothes Kumiko set for them while glaring at other options present she loved, some might be unsuitable for the rainy season tho, but she could use them after it or back at Mervay.

"Well..." Tras said while looking at the options. "I think I have my eyes on a variety of options if I'm honest, but I do certainly like what I see." She said cracking an smile looking at her.

Then her wife found a dress she liked and went to try it out, leaving both to talk a bit. The aqua eyed woman chuckled a bit at her comment before replying with a proud smile at her.

"Indeed, I'm taking very nicely and certainly isn't that difficult to adapt to it when you have someone supporting you entirely. I guess I'm really blessed to have her by my side." Her smile became even warm at that sole mention, really glad of it and thankful even by that hurricane that passed across here two years ago.

Then she found a few things she liked regarding her new wardrobe which was a white dress she always looked to it back at the mall which was very beautiful; certainly a bit more like some of the stuff she brought with her back from home, to then find more practical clothes for the season.

"I like this. I'm gonna wait for Satou to come out before changing myself tho." She said while holding with her what she was to try. "By the way Kumiko. I was asking myself something; what would you and your wife want as a wedding gift from Satou and I?"

Tsubaki
So she served in the military too? Interesting to hear it was, of course she got charmed by the nature of the islands and was logical to come back sooner or later.

"It's glad to hear you finally got time to get here miss." He said letting a smile out of his face. "And where are they if I may ask? Since I don't see your daughter, as for your husband; I believe he stayed back at Kuronami right?"

He asked to her before wanting to add "that" someone she wanted to look to see. Who it was?? But before that, Celia was finally brought her tea while they were talking.

"Indeed, everything Is good miss. My congratulations to the chef." He said smiling warmly before resuming his question.

"Sorry that I'm bombarding you with questions, but if I may ask who is that someone?? In the general sense of course since it seems you knew them from when you were deployed here if I'm not mistaking?"

As long as you can get along with others and not be an outright monster, that's all you need to be looked favourably at by Ymir and the others.

Aurora

"Well..." She pointed at her cat ears protruding from her head. "We're indeed visitors all the way from Animalpolis. Wanting to see Aurora for the festival and maybe catch sight of the Duchess if she's on the move. Actually named my little one here after the former Duchess here. C'mon Shino, try to say hi."

The little girl squeaked out something that may have sounded like a 'hi' or it could have been a meep. "Hehe she's a cutie aint she!? Mah pride and joy this little one is! Well how bout you folks, where you from, what brings you all the way to our little festival?"

Kino

If the two wanted to head to the beach, this was the ample time. Good weather, moderate surf and low enough tide would make it pleasurable time. Guides also gave good walking trails deeper into the jungles that would keep them in earshot of Kino.

I took her hand and smiled, wanted to add something more, wanted to tell her so many more things...
...in the end, my stomach took over the talking by growling.
I was silent, blushed.
Then I burst out laughing.

Aonas Folracht of the Tribe of Wicklow.
Port of Kino, Corona Island.

All the places sounded lovely enough but before Marcella could reply anything in the agreement, Aurelia's own stomach did the talking. "Hehehehe" Marcella couldn't help but giggle. "If you were hungry, why didn't you just say so? How about we go get something to eat." Marcella extended her hand to Aurelia to pull her along. "I always have a table set aside at the Kitan for me so no waiting."

Hoshino

"Hehehe" Kaori giggled bashfully hiding her eyes behind her messy hair "Oh you going already? I guess I should let you, mama says I can't be selfish after all. Just you folks are so nice. So I hope we'll see each other again during the festival. You gotta see me in a yukata, you gotta, because I'm so very cute in one!"

"She is very cute, I'm sure you'll think so too" She parroted through her puppet again. "May the Goddesses bless you!"

Kino

"No time like the present, I'd say." Ayla stood "So I'd love a ride."

The Kitan

"Thanks a lot! The fact we found a room is nothing short of amazing. Good to meet you two, Elin, Branwen. "Mizu. And this is Rikka." Rikka gave a quiet nod hello. "Pleasure is ours. Oh a wedding gift huh? I hadn't given it much thought but I thought gits were supposed to be a surprise. You know I'd simply tell you, you don't need to do that. Well...Maybe a trip to Mervay? For the whole family I mean. I went there on business but I'd like it to take Reina and Mamiko along with me. Also would love to be able to sail without having to double a crew. Well I am asking a lot of you, that's a bit selfish I know so don't feel like you have to. I value you and Satou as my friends."

Speaking of Satou, Satou emerged wearing a white sundress, now with her hair flowing long and free "Aww might I say, it looks adorable on you, Satou! And if you want to tie your hair or keep it loose you can't go wrong."

"It does feel breezy that's for sure. What do you think, Tess?"

Tsubaki

"My daughter took an early start to roam the village. Yes my husband decided to stay behind in Kuronami so it's just the two of us here." The young waitress came with her tea and asked the gentleman about the quality "Thank you, thank you very much. Anyway, that is much harder because the person I'm looking for was a child when I was here so she is most certainly grown now."

"Indeed, other polytheists, although our pantheon has more gods." I reply with a smile.
"As for Ymir, she is the one who was at the beginning, and who gave birth to the Universe, the other Star Gods, stars, and everything else.

Now, as I was saying, Ymir is the one who gives life, but who also ends it when the time has come, a time of her choosing. So, we can't really understand, even after all those years, if she is kind, cruel, or anything in between. However, everyone tends to believe the same thing and that is she is just like us humans, ambivalent. Botj capable of good and bad things." I reply with a smile.

As I finish talking, I take out my smartphone from my pocket, and after browsing a bit, I turn it towards the Matron to show her a picture of a statue representing a tall, young woman, wearing a nearly translucent dress, her long hair reaching near her thighs, a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes in her arms, while at her feet, various small plants, animals and humans all look up to her.

"This is a common representation of Ymir in human form." I explain to the Matron.

It did not pass a great deal of time until the group was fully accommodated at their own table. Even for a such, poor and underdeveloped country, the service at least was very professional and on-point to cater to their every need. The other aspects of it, the couple found a little later, to be again of impeccable quality in terms of the speed that their respective dishes Princess Cornelia and her husband Count Treize had ordered for themselves. Indeed, the speed with which their food had been served was commendable, to say the least, after all, they paid extra to have the cookers prioritize and fast-track their order, a Fourchu Lobster and a Beef Wellington dish, be served to the clients on the double.

The two, of Royal and blue blood, delved into their own respective delicacies, the manners, and etiquette from lessons learned at the Royal Court, especially with Cornelia, who had learned from her mother, like the rest of her siblings; how to cut up one's food, which type of silverware was for which type of dish according to the size of the forks, spoons and which glasses were for which type of drink and whatnot more. Her husband, Treize was the same in that aspect, though less stringent since he did not eat, chew or drink with the careful movements with which his wife behaved herself at the table. It would, of course, raise and even confirm that they were of a rather high-birth. If the upmarket, international brand clothes were anything to go by and hadn't already given them off to those with more observant and knowledgeable eyes.

This feeling peeled at Treize's mind greatly. He looked at Cornelia, telling her in Cassadian that they should dismiss themselves from such a public place as promptly as possible, to which the Princess, while disappointed, still realized the importance of security and safety, to agree to her husband's pressing insistence to leave.

The two excused themselves, before having to go, Cornelia reached for her purse, leaving a significant sum of foreign currency of about a dozen banknotes of hundred US dollars Benjamins. Cornelia and Treize did not bother to wait for the waitress to take their bill money and return them their change. With that, the plain-clothed couple went for the hotel's entrance, Cornelia's arm around under Treize's with their duo of servants following close behind, as they passed by the lobby and out through the entrance, all the while Cornelia decided to strike up a small talk with her dear husband.

''That lady who sat next to us was such an awkward case. I uttered a few words, and she sat there as if a cat got her tongue or something.'' Cornelia said, her tone indicating a kind of dissatisfaction at what happened. She looked at him in the eyes as they crossed the cobblestone onto the opposite sidewalk.

''Do you think she could have recognized who we are? What if she is some mud-racking journalist or even a spy!'' The princess exclaimed with grave concern, her eyes pleading for Treize's answer. He was a man who had experienced dealing with that kind of people.

''I don't know for certain, dear. She did not have that look on her face. If she was, that woman would have been more than pro-active to strike up a conversation with you likewise.'' Treize remarked, puzzled at the notions that Cornelia was imagining, sure it was paranoia. But it was better to be safe than sorry. The Count slowed his walking pace to a standstill along with his wife, as they turned around to have Honchar and Kassadnaya catch-up to them.

At that moment, Treize reached for his pocket, to reveal the key to their room.'' Kassadnya, can you go to our room and take our luggage and take it back to the yacht, please.'' The Count asked, politely, it was something more than what other masters did when it came to treating their servants.

The servant girl curtsied before approaching to take the key out of her master's firm hand.'' I'll get to it at once, my lord.'' The young woman said submissively, turning around as she went to her urgent assigned task at hand. Honchar looked at his unlikely colleague, as he shifted his gaze back to the ones whom he swore to give his life to if need be.

''You'll be tagging along Honchar, come on let's get inside. I want to see what kind of place is this temple the locals told us about.'' Cornelia uttered cheerfully, as she gripped her hand of Treize like a child guiding a parent to something it liked.

The structure they entered looked far older than any of the other buildings that surrounded it. The place certainly served as a place of worship, particularly to some kind of a Goddess, if the idols and the engraving on the walls and stone idols were anything to go by. Nevertheless, the place emanated a kind of warm feeling in the air, and this Goddess to which this temple served did not appear to be one that called for the sacrifices of fellow men, or little ones.

The Cassadian trio would come across a small trio, congregating around, one of them standing out of all from the particular garments she was dressed in, a long robe with embroidered robes that had interesting patterns sewn on to it - definitely, she must be from the temple's priesthood. The other appeared to be a most normal, they were a duo of two women - judging by the clothes of the two; they most definitely were foreigners like Cornelia and Treize themselves.

''Look there are people here. That woman over there must be a part of the temple's priesthood.'' Cornelia pointed at, with a hand, as they went up to approach this unassuming group, whom they themselves were talking to each other, had Cornelia and Treize not interrupted them.

''Excuse me for barging in on your conversation, but can you tell me more about this exquisitely decorated temple?'' The Princess asked of them, in English. Still, she was worried that some of them might recognize who she and her husband were, the Royal Office did come out with a press release about their engagement which was inevitably picked up by some in the international press and Crown-logists whose job it seemed was to analyze every facet of the Cassadian regime.

It then dawned onto her that she had to introduce herself and her husband to the group.'' Oh my, where are my manners! My name's Ninova Kosorska, this is my husband Goryan Kosor.'' Cornelia smiled as she introduced herself and her husband to the group, before moving onto engaging the group regarding other matters. Treize on the other hand preferred to stay silent, he was not the kind of person for such a petty small-talk that the Fairer Sex was capable of.

''We're from the humble Kingdom of Cassadia.''

''To whom is this temple built in honor of?''

''I am looking to purchase anything that you may sell as souvenirs, trinkets or anything of the like. Statuettes or other such trinkets about the deity you're serving - it is for a childhood friend from my country you see. Lukov has quite the diverse collection of idols, statues, and other amulets that symbolize Gods, Goddesses, and other deities that may or may not be like yours.''

Treize's eyebrow twitched for a moment. At that moment he prayed that none of the people before them would have any kind of idea about whom his wife had just referred to.

Damn you, careless woman! Was the thought that reverberated in the back of the Count’s mind.

"Sounds like fun!", I said and allowed her to drag me with her, Aldhiyb hot on our heels. Marcella was surprisingly strong if she wanted - and it seemed to me, that she wanted to. Branwen nodded. "Yes, we have some nice experiences with all kinds... we are actually twins, you see?", she said with a small smile of her own. I was sure, that they had caught that. "We often bathed together as kids and... actually until... last year, I think."
"Yeah, since we moved out of home for our studies.", I agreed. "Though, when we both are at home, over holidays, then we do bath together, too."
Branwen nodded.

Staff Sergeant Abigail "Abby" Anderson
Port Aya Hoshino.
"Interesting, thanks for the answer." I reply with a smile. "We Astarians do or do not have a sweet tooth, it depends of people. For example, I'm very fond of everything with chocolate in it. And Owen here is very fond of filled-types pastries, such as donuts or rolled crepes with jam in it."

Corona

Ah a smart phone, she'd actually never seen one before, though she had heard from her fellow Priestesses abroad who had possessed them or interacted with them. "My, my she is beautiful. I think even the Black Goddess herself could be very well tempted by her radiance! Well now that I've said that she'll surely bring the heavens down upon us soon! Rivera!" she waved over one of the many young Priestesses on duty "Best to start a sky watching party, I might have ran my mouth off again!"

"Certainly, Matron." she gave a slight bow and ran off "But anyway I do mean it when I say she's a lovely one."

Hoshino

"Mmmm Chocolate!" Ya-Xi was dazzled "I've tasted some of the richest chocolates in my time, I'd say it's another one I'm a real sucker for. I'm more of a tea drinker usually but I do love coffee with chocolate. No need for cream or sugar when you have the delightfully rich creamy...." She waved over their waitress "Chocolate moose, please!"

"Coming up."

'Hehe you've done it now." Shinya joked a little "Oh more tea for me."

"Certainly, My Lord. How about you fine visitors?"

Qassadia wrote:''We're from the humble Kingdom of Cassadia.''

"Welcome friends, to the Great Temple of Aurora. This Temple stands in honor of the Great Goddesses whom created our lands and our people and the universe as we know it here. If trinkets are what you're looking for, you're better off in the town than here but we welcome any visitors to spend as much time as they like right here. I can answer questions for you too as well, spiritual or not."

I smiled.
"Sounds like fun!", I said and allowed her to drag me with her, Aldhiyb hot on our heels. Marcella was surprisingly strong if she wanted - and it seemed to me, that she wanted to. I doubted, that they still had a room free, though, so we would later retreat either to the Aurelia or to her place... or crash under the stars.
I smiled and took in the sights as they went past.
This was nice, too...

Aonas Folracht of the Tribe of Wicklow.
Port of Kino, Corona Island.
I smiled for a moment, then decided.
With one swift jump, I mounted Asalcloig without a saddle, my trusty partner calmly standing. I smiled, adjusted my seating slightly.
Barebacked. Heh.
I got him moving and pulled up right next to Ayla, reaching down with one hand. "Milady, may I offer you a hand?"

Nela, Prinzessin von Zieselhaven und Elms.
Port Aya, Hoshino.
I smiled and nodded. "We'll make sure, that we'll meet you two later.", I promised, still kneeling in front of Kaori - then I rose. "And we'll wear something cute, too."
Rena nodded, although not as eager as before. She was convinced, that she wasn't a lass for 'cute' clothing, but I tended to disagree. While she was quite tomboyish, one could work something with her short hair.
"See ya!", I said and turned, Rena waved and said something similar.

Elin Blaidd, of Tralee Descent.
Kitan, Port Aurora.
"It's nice.", I said with a smile, "A bath can be so much more then just for cleaning and cleansing, but also highly enjoyable due to a lot of other reasons - be it a steam bath, a hot tob or jumping into the next river or even the ocean itself."

Aurora

"I know I'll take you to The Kitan. I always have a table set aside for me, hopefully it's still open, I do let them give it away if they're very busy but we might still get lucky. Come, come, you too Aldhiyb, I'll make sure they give you something special too!"

Corona

"It'd me my pleasure, Sir!" She took his hand, it wasn't too trouble of a mount given her height and his help. "uuuh giddyup?" She still was clueless what it was actually like to ride a horse properly, she'd only ever read about it in books.

Hoshino

"I can't wait to see you look more cuter too! I'll see you then!" She waved them goodbye. "Georgie, they sure were kind don't you think?"

"I do think so, I hope they enjoy the festival more."

"Me too. We should go pray at the Temple. I don't want another hurricane to ruin things again."

"Mhmhm."

The Kitan

"Agreed, agreed! Even on the high seas that's very much the truth for all of us folks! Glad you two remain close, honestly didn't think shared communal bathing was a thing anywhere but here. Well maybe Kyrenaia though, I hear they do it too there but it's different from here. Well that's that."

Rikka nodded along quietly "Are you enjoying the festival so far?" Mizu asked as she now settled down into the water.

As Nebraska spoke, there was 2 glints of metal in her tongue from the two studs that sit in her tongue, which has also been surgically split.

Tricia turned to Nebraska,
"wasnt your flat close to a nuclear plant?" she asks

"yeah, it was and by close i mean i could toss a golf ball onto the top of the reactor building. "Hehe c'mon Shino, I know they look strange to you but we probably look plenty strange ourselves, so let's all just be easy"

"H-h-hello..." The meek little Shino managed to squeak out "That's my girl! Oh flew here huh? Unusual, most come by sea even if they can fly in. Unless of course they're high ups in government and all that. Anyway if you're sailing from Animalpolis to Aurora it's about ooh four hours on a good day. But in stormy conditions it might be longer. We arrived last night and settled in to our little cozy inn together. our voyage was surprisingly well normal. Hehe go figure that."

"No scary storms." Again little Shino squeaked out

"Well just life I guess."

''We are grateful that you can have us your....'' Cornelia remarked with an appreciative curtsy, as she struggled to choose what title this priestess had, in front of her.''...Your Eminence? Excuse my insolence if I mistook your title, in which case, I deeply apologize.'' The Princess said in a potentially regretful tone, it was all part of the decorum of etiquette manners after all, that her mother, Marianne so arduously ingrained into her, with great struggle and brawl with her natural cosmic wayward spirit.

Treize, meanwhile, looked on as he was more interested in the wall engravings, statues, and other idols that were on display. Stroking his chin, on occasion as he held the hand of his wife in the other. Honchar on the other hand struggled greatly to become one with the background, trying to appear as just another tourist that was interested in the sights of the temple, like most before he did.

All the while keeping one eye on his Lord and Her Majesty, scanning the surrounding discreetly as he looked on engravings and the many amulets, pictures, and statues that the temple had to offer.

''It would have been a simple matter really if we were simple tourists. But, Your Eminence, I would like if I can be more direct with you on this point; We're not interested in street vendor trinkets. We're interested in the kind of artifacts that your temple offers, some statues, amulets, and other most interesting objects on display.'' The queenly tall woman said to the priestess, her position not budging.

''What my wife really wanted to say about this..'' Interjected Treize out of nowhere,'' is that we are more than willing in satisfying any sum, or any kind of riches you request.'' Said the Count in a rather boring sonorous voice. He was not appreciative of having to deal with pagans, and that Cornelia wanted to dabble with such a pointless hurdle, because a childhood friend, felt that it was more than annoying and pointless, even if successful. To stain one's Christian hands with the demonic examples of works of stone and wood that these people prostrated themselves at, in idol-worship.

It disgusted him.

The Count continued,'' We're not the kind of common tourists you have had business with.'' the count said in a more serious tone. At that moment, the sunglasses-sporting, the plain-clothed bodyguard would get closer to where the conversing group was. '' That yacht, The HMS Dauntless, that is in the port of your city that you may have heard about - is ours. I and my wife would be willing to discuss any price range you may state on some of your temple's religious relics.''

''I assure you, we're liberally inclined to any kind of bid you may offer us.''

''Treize!'' Cornelia seethed, subduing herself to her husband squeezing her hand tightly,'' they're other people here, what if they recognize who we are?'' The Princess said in Cassadian.

''I don't care.'' The imposing Count said to his wife.

That was very truthful indeed, they were destined to be together and for Tess her wife was worth everything it had to be said, this relationship will never break. She had a wide smile thanks to Kumiko's comment. Then it came her gift; which wasn't selfish entirely, in fact it was understandable.

Before Tess could say something tho; Satou emerged with a beautiful white sundress and with her hair let loose; she was always to be even more beautiful than what she was already. It made Tess blush at how she looked like.

"Y-you look beautiful sweetie." She said with a warm smile before grinning at her wife, she was always pretty with whatever she wore.

"I think you should take it." Tess told her to then turn at Kumiko. "I'll gonna make sure to give you that gift you want for you and your family Kumiko; in fact, I will make sure that as soon as that virus is over that you and your family are taking a cruiser to Mervay or if you want I can see if I can hand you for the travel one of my family's yachts; but either way all the travel and stay would be covered." It could certainly quite amazing how normal it seemed for Tess to say that without any trouble considering her and her family's wealth.

Of course after that she grabbed the dress plus a few other clothes and smiled at her friend and kissed her wife.

"Well, I'm gonna try some of the clothes now; see ya in a few minutes." And off she went, and a few minutes later came out with the dress put on and a wide smile on her face.

"So. How does it look like sweetie?"

Tsubaki

Well that explained why she was alone now, considering her daughter is roaming around the village; he should do the same too after done with his lunch. As soon as he heard that last time she saw that person she's looking for when she was a child; Eduard's raised some eyebrows at it and spoke as soon as he was done eating.

"You must had been deployed here a few years ago if so I'am right? Well either that or it was back during the post-war era of this place." He commented before sighing. "Sorry about that but it's just surprising as while heartwarming, it really seems like a task that could take a while I guess."

These statues may not be ancient but they've come to represent our good health in the days since the war. You want a memento, I told you, you can buy one anywhere, but these works of art that were so painstakingly created by artisans, are certainly not for sell. "Well two positive opinions so uh, Kumiko, consider this sold! Maybe something else to go with it?"

"Mmm you know I think Azusa could help you with that, ask her for some hair accessories and maybe a large sunhat. And you'll look as cute as can be."

"All right!" Satou took a moment to consult Kumiko's partner about some extras, gave Kumiko another chance to speak with Tess.

"A travel yacht? Goodness..." Kumiko pondered part of her was tempted to take it but that was so much more than she could ask for or have any right to ask for frankly. She'd be happy on a quaint old ship so long as her wife and daughter were with her and again she wouldn't have to double as a crew member. "That's so generous of you, Tess. It's not entirely needed, I'd be just as satisfied with some expenses taken care of. You know travel and maybe lodging. Uh well do think on it some more, and I'm sure we'll come to an agreement. after all you're right might be best to wait out the virus to finish out before we make great travel plans. You're so very kind, Tess, thank you."

Satou did return a cute hair ornament in her black hair "I think it's perfect."

"It suits you, it really does. Honestly I thought I'd never see you in anything but a kimono."

"I love kimonos but, there's a lot of great clothes out there a girl can wear and look cute and fashionable. So I'll take the dress and the hair ornament."

"Then sold. Actually call this a gift from me."

"Are you sure? I mean the ornament alone has to be 200 Credits and the dress."

"It's fine. Really, call it a belated wedding gift from me."

"Kumiko, thank you a lot. I know you're pretty busy but I think the four of us should get together some time during the festival. Another couples night out would be a lot of fun! Of course I want you to have time with your little girl so no rush."

"I'd like that. Who knows what the weather's gonna do anyway during the festival so we might have a rainy night in at some point."

"sounds great."

Then Tess went to try on a dress herself and again she looked so cute in it! "Tessy! You look so cute and adorable! It's just so you, you must take it! And Kumiko, we're paying for this one, I insist now! I did get paid after all!"

"Hehe okay okay, I'll tally it up for you."

Tsubaki

"It was in the immediate aftermath of the war here. I was part of the first relief team to go in and start the cleanup. Between shells, landmines, and everything else it was a hellish task. Many of the locals were pretty afraid of us but children I guess were curious. Including the little child who found us. She turned into a big help being able to interpret for us. She was so precious and just surprisingly full of life for living through something so traumatic. But still, I could tell she was shaken by the whole ordeal. If I were here at that age, I'd certainly be having nightmares for months on ends if not the rest of my life. I just hope she's doing well today. Chances are I'll never find her in a village so large with so many people. But I'd sure love to see her again."

Tommy, Maria, Sarah and me follow the Matron through the Temple, finally arriving inside a small grove with a very beautiful statue as well. The Matron told us that Homura would fall for Ymir's looks, I'm sure the other way around would be true as well. A true beauty indeed.

"She is very beautiful indeed." replies my brother Tommy to the Matron. "And I agree with you, as the Goddess of Darkness and Rain, keeping her in the shade seems logical. Just to be sure, I've heard thats she's also the Goddess of Love, right? Do you have to pray to her if you wish for a relation with someone to happen and be succesful?" he asks with a sideways glance towards me.

Staff Sergeant Abigail "Abby" Anderson
Port Aya Hoshino.

"Thank you very much." Owen and me reply to the waitress as she departs, before refocusing our attention to Ya-Xi and her question.
"It will indeed be a mix of everything, both military and civilian. A naval base, some airfields capable of welcoming fighters, bombers, etc. The main reason we took control of the Malditas, are the underground ressources that were discovered in the area back in April 2019. Aside from the usual petroleum and gas, the area is generally rich in what is known as Rare-earth elements. They are a set of about 17 metals, used in a variety of applications nowadays, especially electronics. Since only a few places have it on Earth, that means that whoever is in control of a mine of it can make a lot of money, and have some influence.
While our Imperium has some small deposits, we had to import most of it to produce what they are used in, such as smartphones, computers, some alloys, etc.
But the abundance and extraction easiness of the ones discovered in the Malditas means that we will become self-sufficient in that regard, and even capable of exporting some.
So, that, the other ressources, plus the Exclusive Economic Zone rights, means that right now, the Malditas are considered a treasure trove by our government." I finish before taking a sip of my beer.
