Kino, Corona

"Ahaha" He gave a hearty chortle of agreement, "Ya know ya folks are all right. You folks realize it is a lost art and ya see why we folks want to hold a lot of our old ways even if others have moved along. Ya know normally a knife like this would run you about 8000 credits but ya know a festival special I'll knock it down to 4 for ya. Might as well, you're our first customers of today!"

Sunplena giggled and smiled "Understood. Maybe just here then. Well if any of you'd like to try it on, go right ahead." She handed one over and wouldn't you know it, Joel was the one to try it on first. She felt suddenly quite warm in the cheeks laying eyes on him, he was pretty handsome she had to admit but why was she feeling this way, she'd seen men before. "Uh-ye-yeah it fits great. A real man of the islands now!"

Hoshino

"Well it sounds like you've managed to prepare yourselves, that's good at least." Ya-Xi nodded sipping on her tea.

Shinya nodded about the question "There is some early anxiety about it, but I think it will blow over as people get more at ease with it. It just brings up some old memories for some is all. But at this point, we have two foreign military bases on our soil and another one nearby, plus our own state of self defense forces at the ready. Anyone would have be crazy at this point to attack us again. Call me over confident perhaps, but I'd say we've built a decent safety net for ourselves here between relations with our own allies and our selves."

"Plus at some point, the Princess of the Sultanate of Kyrenaia could very well become the Duchess Consort of the islands. Of course AHSCA is a peaceful nation, we won't be going around and picking fights or anything of that sort. But Shinya is right, people will settle as time goes. I think the flurry of activity is just getting some folks riled up but as it settles down people will start to get used to it."

Tommy Miller,
Kino, Corona

"Oh no please Sir, I can not accept such a discount." I reply. "Instead, I will pay it 6000 credits. You're right, us Astarians too have made our best to keep many of our old arts and ways, while trying to adapt them to the changing times. One other thing that many modern nations tend to have is to move some of their industry away, in other countries where the workforce costs less. Well, we Astarians tend to rather keep a fabric of industries scattered across the land. This way, every area has a way to provide jobs, and even though the final product costs a bit more than one manufactured in a cheaper, foreign country, we know where it comes from, and we know what we are consuming." I reply as I continue browsing the knives, before taking out a hunting knife, the handle carved in an elaborate form "I will take this one for my brother." I add before putting it aside and continuing browsing.

Sarah Miller.
As Dad tries the fishnet, I have to agree, it fits him perfectly. But what I also do not miss is the blush quickly coming to Miss Sunplena's cheeks. Seems like she's not indifferent to Dad either.
"Indeed, you could pass for a local." I say as me and Auntie Maria nod while looking to Dad.
"Yeah, you're right." he replies as he scratches the back of his head, before turning back to Sunplena. "Thank you very much Miss Sunplena for letting me try one on. I think I'll take this one." he says as he takes the fishnet off and puts his shirt back on.
"Speaking of fishnets," he continues, "do you sell actual fishnets, which could for example be used to fish in a river?"

Staff Sergeant Abigail "Abby" Anderson
Port Aya, Hoshino

"Indeed, and with the storms coming back soon, we have stockpiled even more." I reply "This way we won't stay idle for the next months, seems like the storms of this season will be hard on the Malditas."
"Glad to hear that your compatriots don't take it too bad." replies Owen after I finish my sentence. "Concerning the other nations who have military bases here, I know that our government is working to establish good relations with them. We received a Kyrenaian delegation in our capital last February, and the Duchess Villa too in July. I just hope that if we have a war in the future with another nation, they won't go attacking the Malditas. Otherwise, this could potentially lead to your people feeling like they're back twenty years ago." he says with a sad tone, as I nod in approval, just before our two plates arrive.
"Thank you." we both reply to the waitress, before starting to dig in.
"Man it's delicious!" I exclaim after I took ad swallowed my first bite.

Big ships and yachts always drew eyes. Some didn't mind, figuring oh well tourist gonna do what tourists gonna do, others had ire drawn that such bohemians would park in AHSCA's small-ish ports. I mean they could accommodate most sized ships but still, most would rather they keep the luxury boats at home or stay offshore and take a ferry in. Well, it didn't matter in the end, if whoever owned this large white ship filled out the needed paperwork with the UNIFRO they could come in. Police Officers running customs and enforcement were always told to put their personal feelings aside about this subject and welcome anyone with the same polite greeting.

"Welcome to the islands." They greeted. "May we see your papers please?" The usual request for passports and anything else relevant and for anyone carrying to declare their weapons to them right off the bat. They also asked to inspect any baggage they had on them and they could stamp and send them on their way.

Cornelia bit her lip at the audacity of the port customs officials to make such a request of someone of her station, or her husband, Count Khushrenada who simply blinked at the port bureaucrat in front of him and his wife. Nevertheless, all he did was let out a sigh before slowly reaching for his pocket, pulling out of it a document that was standard for anyone who ventured abroad; a passport, which in the case of the Cassadians was unique in that it was dark purple with the Fire-Phoenix, the seal of the Royal Family and the country printed on the cover of it, wings spread majestically with a rather defiant bent to it as it also wielded a sword as if ready to battle - a rather factual description of the Holy Kingdom and its relationship with the larger international community.

The Nobleman extended the passport to the official as he turned to Cornelia and then to the other two companions, glaring them in a way that told them exactly what he wanted them to do, through the unspoken word of body language he made the three who had come along to pull out their IDs and other relevant documents that needed to be presented to the border-control authorities. Cornelia doing so grudgingly as she gave several of the officials her sharp icy frown while the bodyguard and maidservant stepped up to present for inspection what they were carrying; in the case of Kassadnaya putting two large suitcases up on the table for to be looked over by the officials.

The same was the case with Oles Honchar, who while willing to register his weapons to relevant authorities on the spot, was much more reluctant when it came the turn for the officials to inspect the ''magic box'' as it came to be nicknamed by his colleagues, as the antidotes which were stored in it could prevent death from a rainbow of different poisons and other chemical agents; from ricin and tabun to VX, sarin and Novichok family of poisons.

What the officers would find after unzipping the black military-esque rucksack, was a heavy plastic thin box, with two-button switches on each of the box's corners. Opening it would reveal a small inventory of neat, well-ordered, fixed to detachable holders, glass ampoules that contained what seemed to be harmless water-like liquids, on them they were inscribed in Cassadian Cyriclic with identifications as to which antidote was for what. Additional items contained in the box case were several syringes and a needle gun.

''These are in case of a chemical or a radiological attack. It is not what you think it is.'' Honchar declared in English to the pair who stared down at what they found in the case, noticing how perplexed they were seeing.

''Hey, don't throw it all over the place, or I'll have you collect them yourself to put them back the way they were in the bag! You uncultured shitskin!'' Frustratingly exclaimed Kassadnya at the officials, crossing her arms as she went to the Honchar, as the customs officers went through their luggage, inspecting for anything that they found to be suspicious.

It was the same situation was with the blue blood couple, in their case having their documentation taking longer that it was acceptable for it to be approved by the customs authority. Which had begun to taste the patience of Cornelia, infuriated the Princess cursed under her breath many colorful expletives toward the mothers and their kin in general of the customs officials?

While this made Cornelia upset, the situation did not allow for it to sleep upon this emotion as the Princess had to contend with a bunch of unamused and equally frustrated officials on her side.

Ji-Yun's cheeks flushed a little. Even if she was still putting on an act, it rang sincere. She was pretty fond of Hyeon-Mi too as a friend.

Letizia smiled, she had friends, good friends she would hang out with, but never really a "best" friend, definitely not one to travel with. "Well that sounds rather nice no? The closest thing to my best friend is is my work mate Imelda, she is..a character. I guess my brother as well. But never mind that. Where are you girls headed to after this? Kumiko smiled taking the money and replied, "Coins, of course, I'd be happy to oblige." She rummaged through their money box pulling out all needed change giving most in bills but a small chunk back in coins. "Hope that'll suffice. If there's anything else I can do today, I'd be glad to help otherwise I really thank you for your business and you're welcome back any time."

Kino

"Right I believe you did mention that. Ooh the thought of ice and snow makes my skin bubble up. I mean I've lived here all my life so anything outside the tropics are strange to me. Let's see, so you're in winter now. Sounds like you'll be out for a while to get away from the darkness. Well I know you're on a world tour you said, but you're certainly welcome here as long as you like."

Port Aya

"Ooooh that's a very good point" She nodded "I haven't found anyone I like. But well you see...My mind it just don't work the way it's supposed to. I'm just odd. So not sure boys or girls would really like me in the end. But most strangers like you are pretty nice to me. Isn't that right, Georgie?"

Cupping the side of her mouth to obscure the fact she was talking she replied in her deep voice, "That's right."

When I had collected Yasmin's stuff, among it her clothes and hat, Dad had long since put the coinage away - Okan would be overjoyed. I caught the tail end of Kumiko's reply to him and saw him nod.
"The pleasure was ours, Ma'am.", he said and Yasmin nodded in agreement. "I must say, my daughter was not overstating things when she praised this shop for its services and beauty." I blushed lightly, Dad glanced over to me and then added to Kumiko: "Well, we'll be on our way, then. May Nabur bless your shop and have a lovely day."
Yasmin and I said our goodbyes in a less dramatic way and off we were, outside by the light again. Aldhiyb was happy to see us again and Yasmin looked simply stunning with her new purchases, the bag with the accessoires being handed over to Dad.
I smiled.
"So... back to the boat.", Dad said with a grin and went into the middle, linking arms with both of us.

"Thank you.", I said and I meant it. The offer was too generous. I would have to repay her somehow - how was the question, though. I spent a minute or so brushing Asalcloig in silence, then said: "You know, up in the Conall Curach, it is customary to ride bareback during the winter."
I blushed, when I remembered, that 'riding bareback' had a different meaning as well...
I sputtered: "Well, I mean, riding a horse bareback, without a saddle. The thick clothes in winter would make it difficult to keep the balance and proper seating on a saddle and..." I was silent, still beet red. "That one came out wrong."

Nela, Prinzessin von Zieselhaven und Elms.
Port Aya, Hoshino.

Ah... she was... how did they say it politely? Touched in the head.
I wouldn't have realized. I mean it, if one looked at her, saw her and spoke with her, one saw a cute girl with her plush rabbit, dragging him around - and speaking through him.
Rena smiled, though.
"Oh, that'll come soon enough.", she said and reached over, softly putting a hand onto Kaori's shoulder. "Boys will tear each other apart for a chance to take you out for an ice cream at this lovely little shop one day... if they'll do it literally, though..." She shrugged. "...who knows."
I smiled. "Speaking from experience?", I teased.
"Observation, actually.", Rena replied, then explained to Kaori: "I have a little sister. Sunna is her name."

Maybe this wasn't going to be so bad after all despite the lack of important things like the Internet, cars, et cetera. I should start writing. Long considered an underdeveloped and insignificant little country by most of the international community, the AHSCAian Islands are in reality a gold mine of cultural interest. If you like to live life in the slow lane, pack your bags and suntan lotion now. . . And that's the Kitan, just up ahead. I bumped the door open with my bag and made my way to the front desk. "Good afternoon. How much would a room for, say, two weeks cost?"

"Ah yes, a two week cost, well our last room so it's going to be 7000 Island Credits exactly. Shall I consider the room booked? I can always suggest some cheaper inns around if it's a bit much but most tourists are fine with the costs."

"That'll be great, thank you. Do I need to put a deposit down or anything? That's a lot of money." I slid my ID card across the desk and readied my credit card just in case. "Oh, and do you think you could recommend somewhere to eat?"

"I think you could all all of this port his dedication and burial. His body was burned by tradition and ashes scattered out to sea so there's no real burial sight besides the monument to him out in the square. But there's plenty any locals can tell you about him, he's a legend here. Not just for his martyrdom but for being a great leader and a good husband. Only a shame he never had a chance to leave behind progeny to take the mantel. Of course that's nothing against Chief Ayla, she's wonderful too just only sad we won't continue such a line."

Sojourner pulled out a pen and a pad from her pocket and scribbled down some notes before turning to Kyrk
"The chief, might make a good subject for the video" she says before turning back to the girl behind the desk, "I think we'll have to do that" she says

Kyrk then turns to the person behind the desk "so can you show us our room please?" he asks with a smile.

Aurora

"Thank you for your business and your compliments, thank you very much." Kumiko gave a bow of gratitude as they parted.

With Aurelia and her family set and making a return trip to their boat, Marcella meanwhile was preparing herself for the festival dawning a cute pink yukata. She now found herself roaming the village of Aurora, just herself no supervision which was always nice. Risky maybe but really it's not like she couldn't take care of herself. Asuna off doing her own thing at Marcella's insistence to take time to enjoy the festival. Still she was stopped by her adorning citizens, because overall she was generally well liked among her population. Many praised how cute she looked and how pretty she looked, some urging she should dawn the yukata constantly as her always professional dress. She liked them enough but honestly maybe not enough to wear them every day as many citizens did. She still waved and gracefully smiled. Little children would run up to her to say hello and sing her praises maybe give a little blunt statements that their parents might have said.

Now she was just wondering where Aurelia might be at, she might be shopping she might be roaming about herself well she'd be ready to meet her when the time was right. A nice sunny day for Aurora at least.

Kino

Ayla's first thought about riding bearback was shirtless for men which in the colder climate seemed a bit odd but hey but her mind also went to maybe completely al natural! But he cleared it up and she understood "Oh without a saddle, I see." She smiled a bit shy and a bit embarrassed. "I see. Ahem, it seems like horses are very integral to your culture and your lands much like a hand crafted boat is to us. Oh uh you're people are called Selkie yes? Or am I wrong on that?"

Port Aya

"Wow you really think so? I mean most boys seem to not like me now but if you say so. Maybe girls might like me, but I don't know. Sunna, that's very cute sounding. I like that name."

Port Aurora - The Kitan

The girl at the desk flipped through the book "Mmmm well, good news and bad news. I have space but only one room. If you would all like to share, I'll be glad to reduce the rate for the inconvenience."

Brettenwald wrote:"That'll be great, thank you. Do I need to put a deposit down or anything? That's a lot of money." I slid my ID card across the desk and readied my credit card just in case. "Oh, and do you think you could recommend somewhere to eat?"

"We do ask for the entire sum upfront, thank you. We also have a lovely restaurant next door but there's also many great smaller venues around the port city that are worth seeing so do make time for as much as you can. So if you're all set, I'll have Stephy here show you to your room." She had a little catgirl dressed in a fancy maid uniform come up to help guide her to the room.

Greater Orcadia wrote:Sojourner pulled out a pen and a pad from her pocket and scribbled down some notes before turning to Kyrk
"The chief, might make a good subject for the video" she says before turning back to the girl behind the desk, "I think we'll have to do that" she says

Kyrk then turns to the person behind the desk "so can you show us our room please?" he asks with a smile.

"Oh I do hope you'll make an effort to explore more about The Great chief Kino. Maybe learn about the lovely Chief Ayla while at it. And I'll have my sister show you to your room now. Kompa."

"Right away." The little girl beckoned them to follow them behind the desk and along a hallway all the way at the end was their room. She opened up the window which was closed up by a couple of wood planks. "I'll be sure to light the lamp for you come nightfall or rainfall, whichever comes first." She giggled "Meantime if there's anything we can get for you, we shall."

Princess Aurelia bint-Damir.
Port Aurora.

Well, as soon as we were outside and had greeted Aldhiyb, my mind wandered a bit.
Dad and Yasmin left me and my furred friend to our own devices, though still quite close - it would not be hard to find a harbour after all, and from there, the place, where the Aurelia was docked.
I was thinking of someone - a very specific someone.
Oh, you know, who I mean, I thought of Marcella - it was so long ago since we last saw us... and I wanted to see, hear, smell her again... hold her close... I have become wiser since that fateful night in 2017, when we were... intimate, not even knowing each other for a day. We grew closer ever since.
Being intimate was not the point anymore. Marcella... she was my rock in a stormy sea, right where I needed it... and when I needed it. And I would give anything for that rock.
A commotion drew my attention, centered around a young woman in a pink yukata and... I smiled.
Manat, thank you.
Marcella was very close - yet my feet could not move. I was mesmerized, entranced. I knew, she was well-liked among her people, better then my Grandmother could claim, but she was so natural here, with these people...

Aonas Folracht of the Tribe of Wicklow.
Port of Kino, Corona Island.

"Yep, we're the Selkie!", I said and grinned, then remembered something... how did that song go...? Ah, shite, can't remember. "There are a lot of songs about who we are and what we do. Many cast us as brave seafarers or brave horsemen - sometimes both! And some tell of how important horses are to us... I'm trying to remember one particular song, but I can't... sorry, Ayla."
I let a beat pass.
"Are there any songs about the Islanders?", I asked, not expecting her to sing - but if she would, I would not mind.

Nela, Prinzessin von Zieselhaven und Elms.
Port Aya, Hoshino.

"Oh, she is cute and very shy.", Rena explained, "So shy, yet very brave - whenever she goes onto a ball or party, she picks out the most intimidating and unfriendly looking people and approaches them. Mama had to hold me back a few times at first, because some of them really made her uncomfortable and I couldn't let that stand, but by now, she is still very shy, but she can approach people... or be approached."
I nodded. "You'd love to meet her."
Rena gave an agreeing hum.

Elin Blaidd, of Tralee Descent.
Kitan, Port Aurora.

I clicked my tongue. Shite.
I glanced to Branwen, who shrugged - a room shared with a guy I knew was better then no room in her book. Well, potentially shared.
I turned to Theomer.
"What do you think?", I asked with a small bit of teasing, "Wanna make the lads back home jealous and room with the two of us?"

Aceus Elurion, King of Danceria

Temple of Kino, Corona Island

AHSCA wrote:"Mmmmm. playing mysterious and coy are we? Ahaha, I like your style!" She slapped him on the back with her open palm. "Well might I say you do look a bit tired and worn out. I imagine you've had a long journey to come to our little island so I would like to welcome you a place with us tonight if you have not made accommodations elsewhere. I think the other Priestesses and I would enjoy your company at our evening supper."

Taking the impact with much grace and a laugh, the silver-haired man smiled and bowed once more. “I would be honoured to sample your cuisine, and to imbibe in the company as well. I hadn’t made arrangements at any hotel, as it were.” the man answered. “Perhaps I may even aid in the cooking of it. Those who plant ought to harvest, no?”

The Kitan

En route to the Kitan, Branwen and Theo seemed to get along like a house on fire. Elinn might not have recognized, or perhaps was vindicated in her intuition, when Theo’s energy sprung forth in areas outside of academics and athletics. It wasn’t as if the lad was antisocial, far from it, he flung himself into and among students along the cafes and chatted away with Branwen in relaxed and slightly accented Selkie. Yet he was more of a bookworm by choice and discipline, rather than desire or nature. Of course, this too needed to be coaxed out after the nth time Branwen bounded off someplace and Theo took turns with Elinn fishing and rerouting her, before speaking and catching her interest for a time on matters of sail and travel. Of course, the prospect of the baths was brought up, but Theo seemed more bashful about the potentially mixed company, rather than the publicity of it.

He was a good Christian lad after all.

When the innkeeper posited their predicament, Theomer frowned. It wasn’t as if he hadn’t roomed with multiple people of differing genders before, but they tended to be closer in kin than in age range. Elinn’s teasing was rewarded with as professionally stifled a blush as the Rohirric man could muster. “Either that or Ah camp.” the blond conceded, though coyly added his own tease. “Though either way, Ah might get a good view.”

“A whole week just for ourselves” Erza says to him.

“It’ll be great, just the two of us,” Jellal replies. “Why don’t we go eat at that restaurant next door? It is lunch after all”.

“I am feeling a little peckish. Alright, we should eat, I’m a bit peckish for cake. And let’s go into town after that”.

“Sounds like a plan”. They both head to the restaurant that was next door

“Hmm… that sounds all like good choices”. Jay began listening to his stomach and decided. “I think I’ll take the sushi rolls please”.

The Hostess greeted Erza and Jellal "Welcome. Table this way, please." She sat them down offering a beverage to them first "We have various kinds of hot and chilled teas, coffee, fresh water and different types of alcohol for your choosing."

"Coming up." A short time of careful preparation and a roll was presented to him, wrapped in a palm leaf topped with white rice "Enjoy your meal."

They were seated down after being greeted by the hostess.

“I think I’ll have iced tea this morning. How about you Erza?”

“I’d like some green tea. Something a little warm would be nice”.

“Thank you” Jay says, beginning to snack down on his sushi roll. This is sweet bliss he thought to himself, but he is a little lonely. Would he could use some company right about now.

Satou dabbed the tears away from her beloved's eyes "I know, it moved me too! It's like what granny would say to me, when she felt things are just bad or she was feeling anxious about the days ahead, she'd look into my big blue eyes and suddenly feel hopeful. My eyes just have a gentle aura to them that makes people feel good. I guess that's why you married me after all." She giggled pecking her on cheek "Such a lovely play. They do so many great shows there, I think we'll be plenty entertained during the deluge."

Tsubaki

"Wonderful. Then please, follow me and I'll get you served up." She lead him along to another rather spacious room with a large center table and a cushion to sit on. It was fairly empty right now only a few guests scattered at various ends. "We're usually filled up more for dinner. Now I'd like to offer some specialties of ours, white rice with grilled salmon and a squeeze of tropical lime juice on top. That's my suggestion but you're free to request what you like."

Aurora
It truly was moving, she should had brought handkerchiefs with her considering how it all ended. Then, Satou talked about her grandmother and how everytime she felt lost she just looked at Satou's blue eyes and felt hopeful of what was to come for the future and; she was right. Her eyes were always filled with optimism and happiness, a gentle aura that was added with her personality; she had to say those eyes were one of the many reasons she married her, it always loved that optimism and cheerful personality of hers.

"You're right. That was one of the reasons I married you and it is, the best decision in my life." Tess said while her face blushed while Satou pecked her cheek.

"Indeed, certainly is a place we can come back and have new shows to enjoy." She said while thinking about what to do now that it all ended, perhaps they could go and congratulate the actors.

"Would you mind if we go and thank the actors for the show??"

Tsubaki
They walked off to an very spacious room; albeit mostly empty with a few guests eating. Eduard nodded when he heard the reasons, certainly at dinner they will be filled entirely. He sat on the table and heard the speciality of the house, interesting choice it would be.

"I'll take the speciality then." He smiled while letting a beat pass. "As for dessert if I want to, what do you recommend me??"

I grinned and Branwen snorted in amusement, especially at his small bout of coyness in his answer. My friend, you needed to learn a whole lot of things about the Selkie... still, I imagined, that we were not the first girls he'd room with, but I also imagined, that he had been closer with those girls - either a girlfriend or family.
Turning to my sister, I asked, still playfully teasing: "So, do we take in the peeping tom?"
She nodded. "But of course! Can't have a friend camp outside, now can we?"
I nodded - thought so as well. Turning to the receptionist, I told her: "It's alright. We three will take that room at full price." Turning to Eomer, I added: "It's on me."
Branwen raised a hand inconspicuously - it was a sign for Eomer to just let me pay. He could invite us for a drink or something later.

"ya sure, pal? I mean I hardly know a fella to decline a good discount---"

"Come on, papa, he's willing to pay so take it."

"All right all right if ya insist I thank you for your generosity sir. Still uuh Sunplena think we can throw something good for it?"

"How about one of the little wood dolls I made? A little token of our appreciation."

"All right consider the knives and an extra wood doll for ya." He wrapped up the items they asked for

"And to answer your question," Sunplena showed a wall of many fishing nets made for actual fishing "We sure do! Also fishing polls hooks and twine. Rain gear for open seas travels as well. Got lots to go with and plenty of good spots to fish from. Some I could even show you ya know if you want inland or good spots at the shore. Good spots where the fish gather. "

Port Aya

"Well I sure hope things won't come to that if it happens but I have a good feeling you can still count on our support in some way. AHSCA likes to help people."

"We certainly do! So natural or man made, count on us." Ya-Xi held her cup out for a refill on the tea. "The food is great isn't it?" Ya-Xi agreed "We are some good artisans here."

"Thank you very much for the doll Sir, Miss." replies my brother Tommy with a nod before the knives and doll are wrapped. I have to say, Sunplena is a very talented dollmaker.
When she shows me the wall of fishnets and other fishing accessories, I listen with a great interest.
"I would be more interesting in the fishing hooks, that's what use primarly to fish back home. Say, would you have some time later today to show me some good fishing spots inland?" I ask, as a bit of red comes to my cheeks.

"You're always so pretty in yukata" A little girl told Marcella, "why don't you ever wear one every day like my mama does?"

Marcella giggled a little "Some people love wearing yukata or kimono day in and day out but I'm just not one of those people. Might I say you look truly cute in your own and your mother looks very beautiful in one."

"Oh thank you, Milady. thank you." The mother thanked Marcella's kind remarks. "It's my pleasure." Marcella rose up to her feet when her eyes caught glance of Aurelia. resisting the urge to barrel through the group of people who had gathered to pay their compliments and respects (or lack thereof) for their Duchess her eyes fell on who else but the blond bombshell tanned skinned beauty of Aurelia. As their eyes locked she shot her a smile. "Please, everyone." Marcella addressed the crowd "I appreciate you all gathering for praise or honest criticism but remember this Festival is about our Holy Mothers. Let's take time to honor them as well as enjoy the company of friends and family."

The crowd seemed to positively take to Marcella's words. As the crowds fanned out and Marcella could shed her Duchess composure and elegance she just as quickly threw herself into the arms of Aurelia again. "How great it is you came again! i'm sorry I'm late."

Kino, Corona

Ayla laughed affectionatley "Brave horseman and sailors. Well Islanders meet one of those, the brave sailors part but horses not around here. I have no doubt when Tamrua the great or Tamura the terrible, depending on who you ask, was building the Aurora Empire centuries ago, she surely would have rode on horseback. Songs to speak of who people are are natural and always lovely. I recall a lullaby my mother sang to me as a little child. About Corona in particular, the sun halo will shine as so will the clouds shall be fine. So sleep little knabino and let the rains sooth your weary soul. well I lack my mother's voice talent to pull that off the whole song or my father's musicality to keep rhythm properly so best I leave it at that. And there's more songs that will speak to who the people are of every island. The Animalpolans celebrate their features and community, the Aurorans celebrate their strength and leadership. Those on little middle island of Truce will sing praises to the people of all. I suppose true to their nature and name."

Port Aya, Hoshino

Kaori's eyes just widened more with curiosity of the little girl that was described to her she sounded nice and cute and well different from Kaori that maybe she could even learn how to be brave like her and not make her poor mother worry so much. "Yes, I'd like to meet her, wouldn't you, Georgie?"

"I sure would! But she must live very far away and that'd mean having to travel over the seas."

"If mama would do it, I can do it too. No matter how much the Black Goddess tries to claim our souls for herself!"

"Let's wait and see, Kaori."

"Okay! uh anyway yes, I bet she's as nice as she says." She nodded with a big smile.

"The words of a farmer if I ever heard one, the words of my father for as long as I can remember too! So your help would be most graciously accepted. I'm sure Nokte would appreciate the help in the kitchen, we expect many more to come to the temple as evening falls so many hands to make light work is appreciated. So then..." She waved over one of the much younger Priestesses in attendance "Birdeto, we have a guest with us, please show him a room and then the kitchen as he's volunteered his services to us."

"Certainly Matrono." She beckoned the man to follow her further along the complex to show him a quaint little room nestled in the corner of a facility. Small just a little hammock to sleep in, a small desk for writing or other needs. "There's a shared communal bath we all use here. We don't mind sharing with a man but if you do feel you'd rather be alone I'm sure we can arrange that. Now if you wish, follow me to the kitchen otherwise I can leave you to rest."

Aurora - the Kitan

"Well you are welcome to share but if camping is what you'd desire, perhaps head just out the door and around the other side into the palm forest. It's not exactly the wild untamed jungle, it's more like a little park but you'd be close to the Port and be close enough to nature. So what will you decide ladies, sir? Shall I have a room set for you or would you rather be outside? I also know a store that can help you with gear if you need any."

“Thank you” Jay says, beginning to snack down on his sushi roll. This is sweet bliss he thought to himself, but he is a little lonely. Would he could use some company right about now.

"Certainly." She left and returned with their tea order. "Iced tea and green tea. Now maybe I can start a dish for you. We have many specials today, including a spicy Mokan Bass. It's sea bass caught and topped with various Mokastana style spices and chili. We also have many fine rice and fish dishes and a few others. If you need more time take time to look at the menu."

Jay may have a reputaion as a fickle critic where he's from but none new about him here but they were still putting on their best service for the man because every customer was value and who else cared for their customers but the owner Tsubasa Kinoshita the owner of the Kitan. "Would you mind if we go and thank the actors for the show??"

"Well, would you be available at around 4.30PM?" asks my brother to Sunplena. "I'll come pick you up if that's all right with you. In the meantime, can you please show me the fishing hooks I asked about? " he asks with a smile to Sunplena.

It's been such a long time since I've seen him like that, given his first wife, Sarah's mother, left him when she was just a baby, so he had to raise her alone. Aceus Elurion, King of Danceria

Inner Halls, Temple of Kino, Corona Island

Following the younger of the Priestesses, the silver haired man reflected on why he was here. To pay homage and keep true to the oath he made to Yue, sure, but what of his mortal life? What fruits of the spirit may aid him in this life, rather than potentially the next? While he pondered this in silence, he barely missed the younger Priestess informing him of his lodgings and the situation of the baths.

The Matron presumed he was a farmer, but he considered himself a gardener, a tender of plants that took root long before his birth, and a life that he had not always nurtured efficiently, especially when it came to love and family. He had lived for thirty years-contrary to his outward appearance of a silver haired and tired old man-and already he had failed to embody the truest nature of monarchy, both ceremonial and substantial. To be head of his own family, to be a husband and father. Almost a lifetime ago he met a woman he had loved dearly, and rashly, and produced a child who he would later adopt. He had thought it was out of duty, and perhaps out of a desire to perhaps right what was wronged. Erika and Aceus were opposite in many regards, but they were still family, and kept as such. However, since she was born out of wedlock, and his inability to properly explain her presence had resulted in the severance between himself and a woman he had loved for a long time. Twice he had failed in love, and with his advancing age, he decided not to pursue romantic relations, so he wouldn’t mind the company of the bath. Almost half a beat passed between the words Birdeto spoke, and awkwardly late he would respond. “There are tasks to be done, and I do not mind the company.” The reply was curt, and ineloquent. Now he had failed in diplomacy, something he had once considered himself apt in.

It was clear, of course, that his banter was simply that. Banter that was well received, since Elinn and Branwen allowed him to stay under a roof for tonight rather than being kicked to the curb. Of course, he did intend to take a big fat look...at the interior design away from the two girls. Playful teasing was fun and all, but he meant nothing serious for now...and definitely not with Branwen. Something told him she was spoken for, and he was not one to interfere with romance. Besides, he at least knew Elinn better, seeing her around campus and speaking with her.

When the innkeeper asked to confirm Theomer’s lodging, the blond lad smiled. “By their hospitality.” he smiled, and meant those words genuinely. He would’ve taken being shooed out in the cold with quiet dignity, had he overstepped his bounds. “Miss Elinn paid fer th’ whole room, so we might as well use th’ whole room.”

Chyna just curls up on the counter waiting for eitherTricia, Nebo or perhaps the girl behind the counter to pet her.

They certainly had the best decisions of their lives with the other and certainly didn't regreted them one bit, it was worth it all for them.
Tess accepted Satou's hand and got up her feet; kissing her wife alongside while they walked to the cast of both shows which just got thanked by other spectators before them, thankfully they were able to approach thanks to the first wave dispersing.

They were greeted by miss Aihara, which thanked them for them coming to watch the show today; to which Satou replied saying they enjoyed it and had a lovely time to then introduce Tess to which she bowed with a warm smile while she was presented by her wife.

"Thank you! And yes, we've been married for a few months by now but we been dating since two years." She said smiling at lady Aihara before continue. "Your work was great, it was a wonderful tragic history with a hopeful ending if I have to say, an great example of tragedic theater."

That sounded great for the soldier, smiling for the offer and nodding.

"That sounds great ma'am. I'll take it too." Eduard grinned at the idea. "How much it would be?"

Oh, I knew, that Theo would do his best to study the inside of his eyelids as best as he could, but that would not mean, that we would not have our fun with him!
Paying for the room, I watched Branwen out of the corner of my eye - romantically, she was currently free, no boy- or girlfriend, which was one of the reasons why she went along with it. I was the one with the girlfriend, but Ritu and I...
Our relationship was neither platonic nor carnal. It is hard to describe.
As I paid, I also asked the receptionist: "Quick question before we move in, can we also book some time in the bath?"

Of course, Theo and Elinn were both eldest siblings. He knew of the unspoken rules of protecting those younger than them in their family. Still, he had read some of Branwen's work...he was never an initial fan of science fiction, both out of never really getting around to reading, and the fact that there was simply too much grim, dark, and future in the general corpus of works. Uncle Stavros insisted that he focused on “science facts” rather than “science fiction”. Yet as always, there was a drop of truth regarding the human condition, and a rompish nature that was a breath of fresh air, especially when it focused on the simple interaction of humans (and non-humans).

While he may admire, and even banter with Branwen, he knew things wouldn’t work out. Even if his wildest idle fantasies were true, they were immortal. He was not. In the history of Danceria, the comparable Elven species when intermingling with their mortal lovers died of grief, or simply faded until there was nothing left. He wouldn’t want to ask either of them for the same thing, it was foolish to think that all immortals were created equal. He hoped the Lord would allow Branwen enough years to see those glittering vessels reach those fantastic stars, and enough life in his years to make a difference.

He snapped out of his brooding-a habit Elinn no doubt was familiar with, if she had known him long enough-and resumed a stoic stance. Theomer had no quarrel with hitting up the baths, in his perspective of his present company, it would be the equivalent of bringing a toddler or a youngster into the baths, nothing more carnal. Though we must be honest, the thought had crossed his minds, but no. He doubted such affairs were meant to be.

When Sunplena's father mentions she's available, she's not the only one to blush a lot, I can clearly see that Joel's cheeks become a bit redder too.
"Well, would you be available at around 4.30PM?" asks my brother to Sunplena. "I'll come pick you up if that's all right with you. In the meantime, can you please show me the fishing hooks I asked about? " he asks with a smile to Sunplena.

Meanwhile, I lean towards Sunplena's father, and start whispering:
"I'll be honest with you Sir, it is clear that my brother is not indifferent to you daughter's charms. It's been such a long time since I've seen him like that, given his first wife, Sarah's mother, left him when she was just a baby, so he had to raise her alone. So I gotta ask, if something happens between my brother Joel and your daughter Sunplena, would you be supportive of their relation?"

"Indeed, just like the Imperium will not only assist the UIS in times of war, but for other problems as well." I reply with a nod and smile. "I can only see a bright future in front of us between our two nations.
-Indeed." continues Owen. "And we'll be sure to try mochi for dessert." he adds with a smile. "In the meantime, I think that what Abby just said calls for a toast, don't you think?" he asks as he raises his beer. "To friendship between the UIS and the Imperium."
"Here here." I say with a nod as I raise my beer too, awaiting for our three table partners to do the same.

"Uh, yeah. Papa you can handle the shop then can't you?"

"Of course I can! You take some time for yourself too."

"Then it's a date. I mean yeah...." She blushed again "Anything more I can help you here with? And well would you be terribly bothered if I brought my daughter along this afternoon?"

Port Aya

"Here here!" They all toasted to that and drank up . "So," Ya-Xi continued the conversation "Might I ask, what else you want to do here during the festival? You going to stay here on Hoshino or going to island hop?"

"Very well, please come along." She lead him along through a series of doors and entries between buildings to the kitchen where everything was housed. Quite a few girls were at work preparing a large spread that would certainly feed many. The girl managing everything was a Priestess by the name of Nokte as mentioned by the Matron of the temple. "Nokte, we have a guest who has offered us his services."

"Splendid, thank you for the help. Well sir what can you do, can you cook or can you not? There's always plenty to do in here so don't fret if you can't. I'm preparing a large banquet as many villagers will descend on us as evening comes."

A rather large sword fish was placed on the counter by a couple of other girls. "Freshly hauled in."

"Give my thanks to Tran for his offering"

"We will."

I'm guessing those are real ears, but I thought nekomimi were just an anime thing. Cool. The room was plain but cozy, with a writing desk (and complimentary stationery), an oil lamp, a window with a view of a grove of palm trees, and what the English-speaking world termed a Murphy bed that folded out from the wall. "This is lovely, thank you for the escort. Er, is tipping a thing here or would you consider that rude? Despite traveling for a living, I never seem to guess right. If you could recommend me anything to see and do, I'd really appreciate that."

"Tipping is acceptable, just please do not feel obligated to do so if you do not wish. For sights, perhaps you'd like to see The Great Temple of Aurora, this is after all a holy sight. If you wish to relax a while longer we have splendid large baths here, right now we're a bit quiet so getting a private room wouldn't be difficult otherwise there's always shared if you like some company. That even includes us staff if requested. We have a lovely grove of palm trees just outside for those who like to be outside but don't want to wander over to the next village. The beaches are fine too."

When Marcella gracefully told everyone, that she needed a bit of breathing room, I smiled - it was so polite, ladylike and friendly, that it could only be Marcella. Others could simply not compare.
And then she hugged me.
I threw my arms around her and pressed her close, breathed in her scent and it was the most heavenly scent one could imagine. It was undiscribeable to hold her again, to feel her...
"How great it is you came again! i'm sorry I'm late.", she said and I smiled, my face buried in the nook of her neck.
"How could I not come?", I asked her, smiling, "I missed you..."
Aldhiyb at my side was giving happy sounds as well, but refrained from throwing himself into Marcella and licking her all over. He knew, he would get greeted soon enough.

Proceeding with cleaning my companion, I brought my forehead to his as I rounded him to take care of the other side of him. Wouldn't do to just clean one side, now would it?
A few beats passed.
"We are called 'people of song and dance' by many foreigners... we liked it so much, that we took it for our tourism brochures!", I told her with a grin, "But truth being told, horses are important to us, music is important to us, the world around us is important to us... you saw the Archipelago, this synergy between us and nature, that is normal, from the Far North to the Archipelago."

"If you two and your mother want to make a trip to Teressien, I am sure, that we can arrange something.", I said with a friendly smile, "And maybe even meet Sunna?"
Rena nodded. "I am sure, that she would love to meet you."
"But...!", I said and raised a finger, "You two will not travel alone."
Or without the necessary documents, which only Kaori's mother would be able to procure for them.
For a brief moment, I wondered, where the waitress was.

Port Aurora

"I missed you too. I know it's tough for us nobility to always get away to do what we want so it's always a pleasant surprise you come all the way to see me. Of course how could I forget you, Aldhiyb." She kissed his furry head and stroked his fur "I missed you too!"

Kino

"Song and dance, horses, the sea. A real cultural blend if I ever saw one! We're quite fond of music and dance too, granted it doesn't carry to well overseas because superstition says it's taboo to do so on the sea. But believe me, we're just as jovial as anyone is."

Port Aya

"Wow maybe we can! I'll talk with mama. Maybe you can talk to her too! I'd really like to go somewhere and see something new. And Sunna really does sound nice and cute and fun to be with that I'd like to meet her."

And as she wondered, their waitress came back to see to them "Well how are we all doing? Would you all like something? Kaori maybe you would like some tea?"

"Please? You know I really like green tea."

"You got it. Maybe tea all around."

Aurora - the Kitan

"Very good then, I'll reduce your overall fee for the inconvenience. And we do have one bath open up right now that I can get you in or reserved if you like."

Back home, serving alcoholic drinks to individuals under 18 was banned. I was pretty sure me and Alice fell under that, even though technically some of our classmates and our parents had broken that rule by occasionally letting us drink alcoholic cider or beer, or in the case of our classmates, smuggling it in.
