As the draft thread goes up pretty soon (two days from now), here is an update. 20 nations have signed up so far!

Provisional Sign-Ups (20)
Updated 11 September 2020, 16:00 BST
  1. Achaean Republic [HOST] Beauchamp - Escóndete de Mí
  2. Beepee [BONC] Ashi N - Walk a Mile
  3. Britonisea [BVC] Jordan Hamilton & Nicholas Leblanc - No More
  4. Darkmania

  9. Kyritakia [Kosmos] Akira - Σε ποιον είσαι;
  10. Llalta [LBN] Maya Glennis
  11. Malta Comino Gozo [MCG1]
  12. Nekoni [nk.TV]
  13. Normandy & Picardy [SRNP] Michelle - J'ai le droit aussi

  19. Tödlichebujoku [Estegoa100] Sivartti Yataroo & Hajimee Heikkinen - TBA
  20. Vartugia Eighteen plus - Bitches & Titties

In terms of acceptable entries, I will be looking at how suitable entries are when the host transfers them onto the IC Thread. As per the new rule (10 - Contest) that was put in place a few editions ago. If I believe that an entry isn't acceptable (think what would be accepted, say, at Eurovision), then I will recommend to the host that they don't place the entry on the official IC thread. This will be done once the Draft Thread goes up so we can see the lyrics and the entry as a whole.

Signups, Entries, Live Draws!

Postby Achaean Republic » Sun Sep 20, 2020 4:40 pm

Image[/center]

Buenas noches!

We at both AS1 and TVS are very excited to present to you the World Hit Festival as we are working behind the scenes to provide you with the best competition ever in La Cañada. Many of this year’s performers and their respective delegations have already arrived in La Cañada or are on their wary, and we can’t wait to show you everything we’ve got in store. Allow me, though, to say hi to the confirmed entries of this year’s edition:

[align=center]Image

But first, let’s talk business:

  1. Signups are officially closed. Countries that have confirmed their participation must at least have their entry posted in the Draft Thread, which is at least a tune and a set of lyrics; however, staging and background RP are very well encouraged. The deadline is next Sunday, September 27 at 6:00PM EST/11:00PM BST.
  2. The Live Allocation Draw will happen at 6:30PM EST/11:30PM BST on the WorldVision/World Hit Festival Discord server. Swing by for the interactive experience that kicks off the World Hit Festival proper!
  3. After the draw, I’ll open up the Draft Thread once again for the Grace Period, which should last until Monday, September 28 at 6:00PM EST/11:00PM BST. You’ll be able to finish up any RP remaining before it’s completely transferred to the IC thread at the time. Only entries that have lyrics and tune and are considered suitable for the contest will be able to take advantage of the grace period, so choose wisely!

We hope you enjoy your time in La Cañada, and we hope to see you have fun and enjoy a bit of music and mystery! Buena suerte! Good luck!

Postcards for artists;

Music means a lot to me, but I couldn't possibly tell you why. Music isn't something that one can simply boil down into a few words, an explanation. Music is feelings, its emotions; everything is music - it's quite the mystery...

The most simple form of music is invested in one's heart. My heart beat, your heart beat, the foundation of every one of my songs. Music is a mystery as we don't know how the music in us got there, but we all know that deep in our heart's we've all got a rhythm we dance to.

Voting Schedules

Postby Achaean Republic » Tue Oct 06, 2020 6:48 pm

Thank you so much for voting. The lines are closed, and we have a winner.

We're currently working into revealing who won the 54th World Hit Festival, and we'll outline what follows next.

Image

For Phase One, we'll reveal the cumulative countries' 1-4 score in Spanish language alphabetical order, similar to how we previously revealed the Jury vote in the 7th Junior World Hit Festival. Because we have 18 nations, this phase will take place in two days:

Wednesday, October 7
  1. North Alezia (Alezia del Norte)
  2. South Alezia (Alezia del Sur)
  3. Beepee (Bipí)
  4. Britonisea (Britonisí)
  5. Skanden (Escánden)
  6. Scotatrova (Escotatrova)
  7. Estogium (Estogio)
  8. Fromulya
  9. Kalosia

Thursday, October 8
  1. Malta Comino Gozo
  2. Natnaya
  3. Normandy & Picardy (Normandía y Picardía)
  4. Pemecutan (Pemecután)
  5. Polkopia (Polcopia)
  6. Teesdexxia (Tesdexia)
  7. Togonistan (Togonistán)
  8. Yaakovistan (Yakovistán)
  9. Achaean Republic (República Acayana)

Image

For Phase Two, we'll reveal each country's top 5 points that may change the whole competition and finally determine who wins the contest! As per tradition, Britonisea--last year's host--will open the voting, while the Achaean Republic will vote last. Who will win?

This will take place between one to three days. It is my expectation to have this completed by Saturday, October 10, the IC date for the final, but this may be done earlier depending on my availability. However, we will have a winner scheduled by the latest dealine of Sunday, October 11.

Good luck and buena suerte for everybody in this competition! Thank you so much for your support!

Congratulations to the winner of the 54th WHF. If you could get in contact with me that'd be great when you find out - thanks.

Thanks for my placements too!

Now whilst you might find yourself on both lists at the top to get points, because of how Esto/Brito votes, you received the highest amount of points. Luckily for some, you were bumped up (so if the ABEN votes weren't linked, you might've received two instead of 4) - this will probably change next edition, especially if I participate with three nations which I think I plan to do.

You will be able to find the official votes in the excel document set to be released soon, along with the full Jury and Televote breakdown.

Estogium Televote winners: Beepee (1st), Kalosia, Britonisea
Estogian Jury winners: Pemecutan (1st), Beepee, Kalosia

Estogium
1 Pemecutan
2 Kalosia
3 Normandy & Picardy

13 Malta Comino Gozo
14 North Alezia
15 Teesdexxia
16 Yaakovistan
17 South Alezia
18 Estogium

Britonisea

Britonish Televote winners: Polkopia (1st), Beepee, Togonistan
Britonish Jury winners: Normandy and Picardy (1st), Kalosia, Pemecutan

Hi everyone!

First of all, a big big BIG terima kasih to everyone who voted for our song! Although my goal was to indeed sweep the entire top 3 with my three entries this edition (as Kalosia, Fromulya, and Skanden), I am still taken by surprise at this result and am incredibly humbled that you guys deemed me (as Fromulya) to be worthy of the title.

I'd also like to extend a congratulations to our wonderful host Achaea for being able to pull of this hosting gracefully despite the obstacles and RL priorities he's currently facing, and of course muchas gracias as well for being such a great host!

I know what some of you are wondering right now — will Fromulya host the 55th World Hit Festival? I think, after quite a fantastic edition, we can just relax for now and celebrate these 18 wonderful songs. Don't worry about the future yet! All will come in due time.

Once again, thank you so much and we hope to meet again as participating countries in the 55th WHF!

Blessings,

Fromulya

¡Gracias!

Postby Achaean Republic » Mon Oct 12, 2020 3:38 pm

I know it's a bit late and the dust has already settled on the 54th World Hit Festival, but I am more than blessed and thankful and honored that, despite all the hiccups, I was able to successfully hold of my very first hosting of the competition (though not the first WHF event, I'm sure)! I knew that I was coming with a win-worthy banger last edition, but I never expected to win--and win with a tie against a contest legend like Normandy and Picardy. I already had my theme, postcards, and plan of action in hand for if and when the time came to host.

I'm glad that all of you were able to enjoy La Cañada with all the obstacles we've faced. It was very hard to keep track of everything and, more so in the homestrech, when so many unfortunate circumstances collided and even threatened the entire running of the contest. But I'm glad I took this project with the same emphasis as I do on my full-time job, applying project management, graphic design, writing, editing and--above all--our old-fashioned Achaean humor to a successful result. It has been a personal challenge of mine to host the contest and I'm glad I did. Even in the midst of the pain and grief I'm experiencing along with the rest of the family, working in this contest has provided some levity and clarity which is more than sorely needed in this very tremulous and unprecedented year.

I thank God above all because I didn't know what curveball would He throw at me next--I just needed to catch it, haha! And I do sincerely apologize for rushing through the phases, but I will not apologize for Olga Martínez's cuckoo behavior--that's on you! Overall, the result stays the same: Fromulya is our edition's worthy champion and I can't wait to see what they'll come up with next!

Everybody in the community has been very supportive of this event and I always hope that this is not the only one we're able to host.

¡Gracias por todo y pa'lante siempre!
