With the news that Milano in Besen will host the 84th WorldVision Song Contest, it has been announced by the Britonish WorldVision Song Contest broadcaster that Meghan Jorgensen will sing the song, "Glow" at the Contest. She is expected to fly out to the host country very soon to begin her WorldVision journey. The broadcaster is hoping that this song will gain much more attention than the Britonish efforts last edition. Last edition, Britonisea sent KAYLEY with "Beautiful" which placed fourth at Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2020. KAYLEY did well, especially in a field of over 40 nations as she placed 10th place with 172 points.

Compared to the edition before, Britonisea placed third on the scoreboard, with 255 points with the nation losing 83 points and 7 placements at the 83rd WorldVision Song Contest. It is the aim of BITC to get the country back in the top 5 and go on to win the nation's seventh title. With Meghan's prior history at international song competitions, and her upbeat positive track, it is bound to be a hit with many across the multiverse!

The 84th WorldVision Song Contest will take place on the 5th September 2020 - be sure not to miss it!

As mentioned in my commentary and as I've said on the Discord, I'll be moving house tomorrow and, for a couple of reasons I won't go into because RL stuff, I will be without internet for a while. I can't 100% guarantee that I'll be back in time to actually vote in time so, if I don't, then please can any of the punishments that normally get given out to late/non-voters not apply to me? If I do make it back after the entry deadline and before the voting deadline, I'll get my votes up just like normal (albeit in a simplified form) but I just want to make absolutely positively sure since I don't know how long I'll be.

Apologies for the delay, the host has been inactive and so, after waiting the full flexible deadline time limit, the WVC must open voting.

With that, we're happy to announce a change to the televote form's formatting, which should now be much easier to understand and complete. One thing of note is that a score of 0 is the new ME score - only mark that for your own nation. Any marks for 0 that are not your own nation will be considered a vote of 1.

Right, a word on televoting.

Given I'm still convinced it's a terrible idea for this edition what I've decided to do is to distribute the points in a normal distribution summing up to 58:

1st place = 9/10
2nd-3rd = 8/10
4th-6th = 7/10
7th=11th = 6/10
12th=16th = 5/10
17th=21st = 4/10
22nd-24th = 3/10
25th-26th = 2/10
27th = 1/10

In order to keep the number of nations with 0 televote points below 10% of the total participants, we had to change the weighting- but fun fact: we were able to keep the whole top half in the same order as the original weighting (visualization of changes to the final result), though sadly I had to lose a position in the end
