We were celebrating our military victory over Spain in 1906 after they launched a disastrous invasion of our mainland. Even though we won the previous war, by 1915 our military observers in Europe were shouting at us to rearm as quickly as possible if we hoped to contribute anything other than losing soldiers in case of intervention. In 1917 we joined the war alongside our ally, the United States.

During World War 1 Reutoa was still an Empire lead by the Kaiser, we were on the side of the Central Powers and lost the war badly. This resulted in the Kaiser having to sign a new Constitution passed by the Reichstag that abolished the Monarchy and replaced it with a Citizen Government protected by the Military, the transition was peaceful enough with Communist uprisings in the Eastern Parts of the State but they were quickly put down with a Presidential Election occurring 4 years later where the current President was re-elected.
