Period 2: Conflicts in the Modern World
Ljubomir Kostelac in his 40s would attract any students in need of his assistance. His kind eyes and visage, and his extroverted nature help to foster a friendly relationship no matter how different a person is. While the students were gathering to take their seats, Ljubomir polishes his syllabus, not minding the commotion from the students. After publishing the syllabus and having it display on the screen, he looks at the time, and stands up from his desk with a smile on his face.
"Zdravo, everyone. Very braw to see some new faces. Welcome to Conflicts in the Modern World," he then announces, "where in this class, we will ascertain insight behind particular and significant conflicts that have occurred since the mid-twentieth century. Since 1945, new conflicts have sprung up throughout all over the world in numerous quantity. Regardless of motivations and causes, these have marred the last century with blood, violence and hatred. Even more so, onto this current century. Together, we shall discern the causes of these, so that with the grace of God, or compassion, we are able to make a difference in the world, even if it is just a little act."
Ljubomir then proceeds to explain the syllabus further. Course goals, skills applied, essays that are worth 20% of a student's grade, project and a presentation both worth 25% alongside quizzes, midterm and final worth 30%, all things that would garner an attention of a diligent student. Finally, he discussed the course overview, which contains the following topics in this order:
