OOC: PGT Beauregard was a Confederate General from Louisiana who won the first battle of bull run and later supported the rights of black people to vote provided they had "some education" and "some property".
Sharifistan likes him because he is believed to suit their aristocratic form of government, fought bravely and was a good strategist as well as relatively less racist (probably because he grew up in New Orleans were a number of the free population were black or mixed-race).

Also can we judge the vote by who has already voted?

In regards to the name, We could name it after some Prime Minister or American President ( or something to that effect) I don’t think a Confederate General is the right idea with what’s going on now.
