Due to unforeseen issues regarding money (as in we spend 80% of our GNI for "Dancing in the dark"), Vartguia will withdrawn from Teams. Our master, Darkmania takes our place instead.

We Want Your Opinion

Here at HARESHET we are committed to making the WorldVision Song Contest as exciting as possible. To that end, we are proposing that for this edition only, we add in a televoting segment. This will require slightly more effort on the part of the hosts, as well as the participants, but we feel this will make this edition of WorldVision exciting and special.

What it means for you: If this change were to go ahead, you would submit your 12-1 points as normal on the IC thread. Then following this, you would also fill in a form in which you rank all of the entries out 10, with you giving 0’s to songs you didn’t like, and 10’s to your favourite. 0-4 would give a negative rating, whereas 6-10 would give a positive one. The full televote results will be multiplied so as to give a split 50/50 result. If we approve this change, both voting segments will be compulsory. Failure to complete one of the voting requirements will result in a strike. The televote will then be revealed by the host at the end of the regular voting stage.

What does everyone think of this suggestion?

Please TG Ertzei Kishim to support, or oppose this change!

WELCOME TO ORDIUM
BENUVENIE AI ORTHEO

After 2 previous unsuccessful WorldVision bids, WorldVision: The Teams is coming to Scotatrova! Ordium has been selected as the host city and will serve as the location for WorldVision: The Teams. Ordium serves as Scotatrova's largest metropolis on the Mediterranean Sea, and serves as the capital of the state of Cadecia. The Ordium metropolitan area is one of the world’s largest and most diversified economies. The region is home to more than 400 major corporate headquarters. The area is a major global financial center and produces significant quantities of telecommunications gear, electronics, steel, crude oil derivatives, automobiles, and industrial capital goods. Founded in the 8th century, Ordium became the capital of the Kingdom of Elejalde and later Cadecia and continued to be an important city as an economical and administrative center of this Crown until its merger with Avaria in 1443. Besieged several times during its history, Ordium has a rich cultural heritage and is today an important cultural center and major tourist destination. As with manufacturing, Ordium is an important financial center, third only to Muse and Agon in volume of business in financial markets and in banking. Its securities market, although declining in significance relative to Muse and Agon, is still of major importance.

Ordium is one of the world's leading tourist, economic, trade fair and cultural centers, and its influence in commerce, education, entertainment, media, fashion, science, and the arts all contribute to its status as one of the world's major global cities. It is a major cultural and economic center in southwestern Europe and a financial center. Ordium is a transport hub with the Port of Ordium being one Scotatrova's principal and busiest passenger port and an international airport handles above 35 million passengers per year. Owing to the proximity of Ordium's port facilities, many of Scotatrova's export-import companies are headquartered in the city. Many of the most important retail stores are located in the center, but others are scattered throughout the commercial areas of the other districts, where shopping centers, supermarkets, and other retail businesses handle a large volume of consumer trade. A newer electronics and computer sector has been added to the older industries of metallurgy, engineering, and printing and publishing. Other manufacturing sectors focus on the production of shipyard-related materials, apparel and footwear, textiles, nonmetallic mineral products, food and beverages, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.

The Venue
Image

The contest will be held at the newly constructed Freita Stadium, located 30 minutes from Downtown Ordium. The arena is highly accessible from nearly all modes of the Ordium Transportation System, whether or not you want to get there by car, train or shuttle! The stadium has a capacity of 15,500 people at its fullest capacity. Freita Stadium has hosted several concerts as well as other music events such as Christmas shows and musicals. SSTR decided on Freita Stadium because of the good transport links around the arena, as well as SSTR's previous experiences hosting the Scotatrovian Song Festival at the arena. Freita Stadium is currently served by Freita bus lines 6, 8, 33, as well as several regional bus lines, all of which stop in the vicinity of the arena. The stadium is also located close to the partially underground railway station, which opened in December 2010. The station is served by two different trains, and is reachable non-stop from many parts of the Ordium Region. From the railway station, spectators can reach Freita Central Station in 7 minutes. Parking is available on the western, northern, and eastern sides of the arena. In total, 3,400 parking spaces are available. There is also a parking garage located on the eastern side of the train station. This garage is open all hours and can accommodate 1,400 vehicles. There is also an interior parking garage in the arena with room for 200 vehicles.

The Stage
Image

The stage, as you can see, is full of possibilities. Covered in dozens upon dozens of stagelights, they are used to illuminate the stage in a manner that renders the performances most exquisite. Towards the back of the stage there is a large LED screen, capable of projecting images that can be seen all around the stadium. All around the rim of the stage, there are various jets that can be used for pyrotechnics, and sprinklers are located directly above if the performer wishes to use them in a rain effect. Whatever idea you plan to do for your performance, we can guarantee that this stage can work for it!

Elias Nordin for Estogium at WV82!

THE BIG REVEAL: ESTOGIUM

Former WorldVision Opening Act, Elias Nordin to represent Estogium at the 82nd WorldVision Song Contest in Ertzei Kishim!

Image

Elias Nordin will represent Estogium at the 82nd WorldVision Song Contest with his song, "Promise Me" after his recent World Hit Festival participation...

It has been officially announced that the person who will represent Estogium will be Elias Nordin, who is known in both the World Hit Festival and WorldVision Song Contest fandoms. The singer-songwriter first burst into the song contest scene at the 40th World Hit Festival with his song, "One Step Ahead", but this song never came to be with his participation being pushed back to the 45th World Hit Festival was was held in Izmedu. With 18 points, Elias Nordin scored 5th place in the competition, making it Estogium's 2nd best result to date. In the time between his first and second participation at the World Hit Festival, he was invited to sing in the Opening Act of the 73rd WorldVision Song Contest. He went back to the World Hit Festival for the 50th festival, which had over 30 nations participating. Elias came 2nd in his Semi-Final behind neighbours Britonisea, before taking a respectable 7th place, drawing with Teesdexxia with a total of 34 points - Estogium's largest ever points total. In that time, Elias has stayed away from Estogium as the country went into lockdown, giving him the opportunity to go to the WorldVision Song Contest 82 in Ertzei Kishim - a plan that had been in place for quite some time.

His song, "Promise Me" is about his newborn child that he had not too long with wife, Macey Nordin. In "Promise Me", he seems to be speaking directly to his newborn, preparing him for the road ahead, in a world that is "terrible". He asks his child, in the song, to never lose contact with him as they're a team. An excerpt of the lyrics can be found below;

Can you promise me...
That you won't change for anyone else
Promise me.
Please reassure me,
Tell me everything will be alright.
Oh, I don’t want you to get older! (Oooo oooh)
I fear for you as you get older!

We will be live from Ertzei Kishim on the 6th of June for the Grand Final of the 82nd WorldVision Song Contest, and we hope to do much better than 32nd place!

Artist Indecision Means YOU Decide Our WorldVision Entry!!
Written by Entertainment Correspondent Candí Weller

Despite having a contest off to recover after a wild contest hosting with a dramatic second place finish, WorldVision fever is once again upon us as the nations converge to Ertzei Kishim for only the second time. What makes this country extra special is that the first time was the 26th edition of the contest, where Nekoni debuted. How times have changed. However, while the artist has been decided, the song itself has been a source of contention.

Once again, our country has opted for an internal selection, and in an ideal world, that would be that. However, there is trouble in the ranks, in that whilst the artist DOES have a song, it's also another? Kind of? Let me explain. The WV representative this time is the rock band Café Bleu. However, the song is currently incomplete, as there is an argument between the bandmates about how the song's chorus should go, and, before the band splits out of tension, they have decided to let the audience decide. As the chorus is where the name of the song would naturally be, an additional issue is that the name of the song isn't even finalised yet.

To decide which version they use, they ask for fans on social media to pick their favourite version of the song, and the version with the most votes by Monday 25, May shall be the version that they will be using.

(OOC: Please telegram me either 'Version A' or 'Version B'. Only votes made before 20:00 BST on the deadline day will count. It's like a National Final! But not!)

Updated Voting Info for WorldVision 82 ONLY

Following a public consultation on Discord, it has been decided that we will implement a televote component to this edition of the WorldVision Song Contest following strong support for it from the community. This will be exclusive to the 82nd WorldVision Song Contest (the future of this change will be up to the committee and community to decide together).

How it works
Each nation will rank the other nations out of 10. Each number below 5 adds a scaled negative score whereas each number above 5 adds a scaled positive score. The complete score of each nation will be the total sum of the positive and negative scores. At this point, any nation with a negative score or 0 will be considered to have 0 televote points (this is unlikely but possible). The rest of the nations with a positive score will have this score then multiplied until the total scores are equal to the amount of points distributed through the points on the IC thread (this from now is the IC "Juries"). This multiplied number will then be the televote score for each nation.

What this means for you
  • In addition to the standard 12-1 points that we all post on the IC thread (which remains the same) there will also be an additional requirement. Each contestant must also submit a response to a google form in which they will rate each song from 0-10 (out of a maximum of 10) - with 0 to a song which they hated and 10 to a song they loved (and everything in between).
    • Your votes must not be random - that is, if you give a song 12 points in the IC thread, you can then not score it lower than a song which you did not give points to, or ranking every single song the same, for example (however after committee consultation, leeway is allowed here - committee discretion).
    • You can give your puppet a maximum of 6 out of 10 in the televote and vice-versa to the main nation. If you have a puppet you will have to submit a second set of televoting points - however, you can submit a single set of points and include the ranking for both your main nation and puppet nation in the same form. You must inform the host (me) if you wish to do this in advance.
  • If you do not submit a televote, you will receive a 25% penalty on your original televote score (which will then be redistributed among the rest of the nations according to their televoting score). It is strongly recommended that you submit a televote score so we can assess whether this change is good for the contest or a distraction.

What this means for the contest
  • The votes will thus at first be revealed as normal. The final jury scoreboard will be released, and upon this time the televoting portion will then start. The results of the televote will be revealed with the lowest televote scores revealed until the highest ones. We anticipate that this will add a new and exciting dimension to the contest, with nobody knowing who will win the contest until the very end (and people keeping scoreboards also unable to predict the winner eventually).
  • The televote will be presented as a single block of points. The results for each individual nation will be released after in the form of a google sheet document so all nation's can understand the individual breakdown of their results. The individual responses to the google form will also be shared with the committee to double check the results calculated by the host if they so wish or if a problem arises.
  • Because of the nature of calculating the televote (and the need to create appropriate graphics for it), the results may be delayed for an unspecified period of time however for this edition I endeavour to announce the full televote results systematically within 24 hours.

The reason I set the voting up was BECAUSE I couldn't decide. No matter, I got my fiancée to do it for me.

Incidentally, how are we playing this televote? What is it specifically judging? Can we split it so the jury votes on one aspect and the televote votes on the other?

Basically, everyone posts their votes as normal on the IC thread. But there'll be a Google form posted somewhere (not sure if it'll be here or on the IC thread) where you simply rate each entry from 0-10 and each rank has some sort of score attached to it. Like, for example, if you rank an entry 10/10 it'll have 5 points added to its televote total, if you rate it 5/10 it's pretty much the same as giving it a 0. I'm guessing if the televote total is a minus then it's basically the same as "I'm sorry, zero points", which'd make sense unless there's someone willing to have points taken away from their jury vote. And at the end, our gracious host will sort out the televote things, adds them up to everyone's scores and there we go.

Or something along those lines, might have to ask Kish just to be sure. I've got my doubts about this whole thing too but I'm trying to keep optimistic about it.
