Facts & Figures

Postby Britonisea » Mon Apr 20, 2020 12:00 pm

Jordan Hermes: In terms of points received in the WorldVision Song Contest, Britonisea, since we debut 50 editions ago, has received a total of 2,890 points with our more fruitful "decade" you could say being the 60s where we received 775 points - or 27% - of our total.

Ria Aristide: Britonisea has been voted for a total of 493 times - do you think that we will hit 500 this edition, Jordan?

Jordan Hermes: Well, I bloody hope so - touch wood!

Ria Aristide: 134 times, or...again...27% of the times, the points that we were given have been podium positions - that's 134 times you've heard either, eight points, ten points or twelve points to Britonisea! To give you a further breakdown, 49 times was Britonisea given 12 points, 33 times 10 points and 52 times 8 points. How very cool!

Jordan Hermes: It's interesting having a look at the nations that Britonisea has voted for in the's a look...

Ria Aristide: Wowie! What does this show, Jordan?

Jordan Hermes: Well, this shows that Izmedu is the nation that has dished out the most amount of points to Britonisea, voting for us on 23 occasions - which is the most of any nation. We can also see that Kalosia has given us the same amount of points as well, but they've voted for us on 18 occasions, five less than Izmedu. Other nations that aren't mentioned on that board are...Ekoz in 13th place, they've given us 58 points on fourteen occasions. Besen has also given Britonisea 58 points on eight occasions, they're in 15th place.

Ria Aristide: I've also got a second chart here...

Jordan Hermes: This is essentially showing the same thing but this time, it's the amount of points Britonisea has given out to other nations. Britonisea has voted for Izmedu and Kalosia 19 times each and you can see that pays off - they're right at the top. Britonisea has given out over 2,000 points too - you have to remember that each edition, anyone nation gives out a total of 58 points. We are in the green, 744 points over, which is good news for us. As you go down the board, you can see the likes of Mister X, who is the third nation to receive 100 points from Britonisea, receiving their 100 points in WorldVision Song Contest 71 - ten editions ago.

Ria Aristide: In 11th, we have Mercedini, then Togonistan, Ekoz, Arioslavia and Titaniumland all one after each other. Antahbrantahstan lands on 18th place with 42 points from Britonisea, before there's a big jump. Besen rounds off the top 20, though, with our nation having given 29 points to them.

NOTE: In most editions, scores are added to Estogian votes with some nations receiving Estogian points rather than Britonish votes...

Jordan Hermes: But enough of this talk, it's time to find out if the scores for the WorldVision Song Contest 81 are ready and whether we can go around to the 30-odd nations to find out who will be the winner.

Ria Aristide: We're going to head over to the WorldVision Song Contest Executive Producer to find out if we're ready...
The camera panned up into a corner of the arena where the Executive Producer and committee mbembers are sitting side by side as they add the finishing touches to the scores.
WorldVision Executive Producer: Hello all! I can indeed confirm that the winner of the WorldVision Song Contest here in Boschke has been found. And I am sending over all the votes to you now, good luck!

The two hosts look down at their podium before looking at each other and then back at the screen.
Jordan Hermes: Well then, thank you very much!

Ria Aristide: What's going to happen now is that all international juries and televotes will tell us their points, with first-place being given 12 points, second place 10 points, 3rd place 8 points, until we get to 10th and 1.

Jordan Hermes: Spokespeople will only announce the top three, you'll see the rest flash up on the screen.

Ria Aristide: We will have a quick break during the midway point. Right...I am ready to start!

Jordan Hermes: Me too! It's time for the first spokesperson...

Nina Bo'Nina Gina: Howdy do everyone, it's Nina Bo'Nina Gina, your favorite drag queen, reporting to you live from Boschke in Britonisea, for the 81st Worldvision Song Contest! We have a wide plethora of entries here tonight, from the electropop stylings of Talvezout to the retro dance music of Llata, to the haunting guitar strums of Nahlcomo. As you all know, I represented Nahlcomo back in Worldvision 79, and I'm back bitches! You can't get rid of me, I'm like an STD. Now, BITC has been hyping up this contest ever since they won the hosting rights, so we better see a great show here. And of course, don't forget that this is the International commentary. If you're looking for Talvezian commentary, go to TRT 2. If you are looking for Talfossian Commentary, go to TRT 3. To repeat, si estás buskando komentarios de Talves, ve a TRT 2. Eán psáchnete gia Talfoz scholiasmós, metaveíte sto TRT 3. Now, the contest is getting ready, so here we go!

Now, onscreen we have the betting odds, as compiled and computed by the lovely folks at the Talvezian Statistics Institute. We currently have a three way tie at the top - Polkopia, Ertzei Kishim, and Britonisea are all favored to win, while Izmedu, Kalosia, Todlichebujoku, Titaniumland, Talvezout, and Eljida are all close behind. To quote the great Slaine Etritch, "It's anyone's game and we are just the players." On the other end of the board, we have Placely Placington, Zentata, Zamboodle, and Vartugia all languishing at the bottom. If you want to bet on one of those entries placing last, put your money on one of those four. It's also worthy to note that there's a lot of crowding between the entries - it's clear that the bookies and the public believe that there quite a lot of great entries this contest. There's usually a massive gap between entries, but we really don't hit any big gaps until Krytenia or so. So to recap, there's a lot of good entries tonight, so who knows who's gonna win.
Now that was a great opening act! I will admit, the way they edited that video at the beginning made it seem like Grange L'Iwes had died or something. I hope the little bugger is alright. I love how the video showcased how Britonisea has evolved throughout the competition - they've certainly come far, compared to their early days. The songs themselves were great, admittedly a bit generic but still great. The Parade of Nations was lovely too, I always love seeing the artists all happy and jovial before they get their dreams crushed in the voting. I think my favorite was Massey Massie and the two 'bots from Nahlcomo. Those two robots are absolutely adorable, and I hope they make more music with Massie. They even have hats and bowties! How effing cute is that?
01 - Highly Ranked

Good evening, buenas noches, Boschke! This is Coventry calling with me, Nick J. Holland, and I'm back once again to give you the points from the Elejamian public. It's been a long night, it's been a good night and I'm looking forward to announcing what we've given. So, let's stop wasting time, let's get to the unos a sietes. One to seven points, if you please!

Nicholas Holland, better known by his stage name Nick J. Holland*, television personality and singer best known for co-hosting the late night LGBT-themed variety show Saturgay Night from 1997 to its cancellation in 2001 and from its resurrection in 2017 onwards. He's also been the Elejamian spokesperson for WorldVisions 74 and 78 and will be their spokesperson from WV80-90 (unless I host at some point during that period).

* Much like the real life actor Michael J. Fox, the "J." in his name doesn't stand for anything, though in this case not only does he not have a middle name altogether but also he chose it because he thought the name "Nick J. Holland" had a nice ring to it.

  1. Britonisea
  2. Kalosia
  3. Titaniumland
  4. Polkopia
  5. Talvezout
  6. Todlichebujoku
  7. Malta Comino Gozo

That's out of the way, let's get onto the big points. The big, big, big points. The big, juicy points. And, getting a medium amount of juice, República Acaya - the Achaean Republic - gets the eight points.

Our ten points. Our penultimate set of points. They go to Nahlcomo.

And, finally, we reach the big one. A lot of good entries but we found it good enough to give it the max. Congratulations, Filius Deorum, you and Mister X are the proud recipients of our twelve points. Thank you, Boschke, have a great evening!
Elejamie (English); Elejamia (Spanish); Elejam (Iyilim) - Denonym: Elejamian - Pronounced (English): Eh-leh-jah-meh

OOC: Just some guy who does stuff.

N.B. All credit goes to Mantas Bartuševičius, whose Eurovision voting parody video I've mostly plagiarised inspired this one.

1112/35 - Placely Placington votes!

Dave McDaverson, Chief President Man. The guy in charge of Placely Placington, for better or for worse.

Hello! It is I, Dave McDaverson. Chief President Man of Placely Placington. All will bend down to my whims. *inaudible whispering* Ahem, it turns out that I'm just here to give the votes. Here are the votes. All the votes. All of them. All of the votes.

Four points however goes to... *Dave whips out a giant Britonish flag and waves it around proudly* Amuaplye! I think that's what this falg [sic] is. That's what the person who sold me this falg [also sic] told me.
Five points go to, Elejamie. Also seven points because I'm Dave McDaverson and I can. *inaudible whispers* It turns out that I can't. Pick one at random.
Six points goes to Caryton! *inaudible whispers* Turns out Caryton withdrew. Axuva? *more inaudible whispers* Disqualified. Pffffft. Beepee? That's OK? OK, six points goes to Beepee.

Eight points is for petrol. Not Petroslovania, I mean petrol in general. Petrol is very, very good. Everyone should love pterol.
Ten points goes to... goes to... goes to... goes to... *Dave gets prodded by an offstage stagehand wielding a broom* Llllllalta.

"Buenas noches, Multiverso! My name is Emilly Santiago-Cabrera, M.D., Ph.D., and I am Francheska González's, better known as Manamma's, psychiatrist appointed by AS1 to check up on her behavior. I am happy to report that over the past five and a half months, her condition has improved greatly and, for that matter, I was approached by AS1 to be the special Achaean spokesperson for our nation's points and to support her condition towards greater mental health.

"In the meantime, you can look up my website for virtual hours of operation at, where you can also purchase my new book, 'You Need Pills and You're Going To Die!' So, let's begin by announcing the first points!"

7 Kalosia
6 Ekoz
5 Todlichebujoku
4 Besen
3 Scotatrova
2 Britonisea
1 Malta Comino Gozo

8 points go to... IZMEDU!

10 points go to... ERTZEI KISHIM!

and finally, our 12 points go to... POLKOPIA!

"Congratulations to everybody who participated, and especially Manamma––and even more congratulations to me, since I am getting lots of money from the channel as well as from visitors from all over the world who flock to me so I can help them with their psychological crises. Until next time, buenas noches!"

Not racist. The name has nothing to do with racism.

Halftime Scoreboard

Postby Britonisea » Thu Apr 23, 2020 1:06 am

Haltime Scoreboard: Britonisea leads the way at halftime with 89 points, but hot on their heels is Izmedu with 87 points. Todlichebujoku rounds out the top 3.

Jordan Hermes: Britonisea is currently in the lead with 89 points - how fantastic, well done Kelsey Banques so far, but this does not mean we're any closer to winning.

Ria Aristide: Indeed not, Izmedu has 87 points - so right behind Britonisea, and Todlichebujoku is only 15 points behind the leaders.

Jordan Hermes: Rounding out the top ten: Ertzei Kishim with 68 points, Polkopia with 62 points - sitting in 5th place.

Ria Aristide: Scotatrova and Eljida are in 6th and 7th place respectively. Besen is in 8th place with 53 points with Ekoz, Talvezout is in 10th place with 39 points.

Jordan Hermes: Right, let's get back to the votes...

If the scoreboard is wrong, please DM me (don't message the main groupchat as your comment may be lost). Thank you!
