BITC/BVC ANNOUNCEMENT

Postby Britonisea » Tue Mar 17, 2020 12:45 pm

As revealed by the BITC/BVC Announcement, headed by the Britonisea International Television Company (BITC), the two largest broadcasters in Britonisea will be joining forces to put together a bid to host the 81st WorldVision Song Contest in the Eastern Britonish city of Boschke.

The 81st WorldVision Song Contest means a lot to us Britons who watch the contest. WorldVision Song Contest 81 marks fifty editions since Britonisea first participated, all the way back at the 31st WorldVision Song Contest in Russadonia when we sent Garange L'Iwes with "Be The One To Win". Unfortunately, he was far from winning, placing penultimate but fortunes only eventually got better for Britonisea. It has been forty editions since Britonisea first host the WorldVision Song Contest in Quickenden - the place in which this announcement was made at Vha Mehlodhivestoile. We aligned Vha Mehlodhivestoile to be hosted, starting with Boschke for Semi-Final 1 and Quickenden for Semi-Final 3. Britonisea first won the WorldVision Song Contest at the 41st edition of the WorldVision Song Contest too with Mya Richardson's "I Cry (For Them). Finally, it's been thirty editions since we hosted in cultural capital, Kyvivre.

Hosting the 81st WorldVision Song Contest would mark 15 editions since Britonisea last hosted in Telm City. We believe that we're ready to host, but it's all up to you to decide if that's the case.

The bid is expected to arrive on the 29th March 2020.

Axuva Today Network [ATN] Today we announce that the Axuvian Government now recognizes The Russian Language as an Official Language, Korean and English were spoken in the beginning, but there were Russians too, russians were forgotten and their language were not recognized due to the things they did in the past, but now their language is a official language of Axuva, and there will now be 3 official languages instead of two.

It's time to secure a bright and vibrant future for the Worldvision Song Contest.

Well, it's election time everybody. And one of the few times that serious change and ideas get thrown around by participating nations of the contest - whether that is genuine or not. Me for one, would love to see a #LiberalCommittee be elected. It would stand for a tolerant community, interesting and unique changes to the competition and most of all, the ability to listen to nations in our community.

What Besen stands for:
- ATTENTIVENESS. Although it seems to not be the fault of the current nations on the committee, the OOC has not been updated as of Friday 20th March. I would ensure that at MOST the OOC is updated every other day. There are five nations that takes seats on the committee - more than enough to do this job. I know it's not very interesting to do but I'm willing to do it regularly.
- KEEPING AN OPEN MIND. This contest should not remain exactly the same edition after edition - it becomes tiresome, it becomes irritating for nations that struggle to produce results and it will not increase the number of participating nations - in fact, it will probably decrease our community over time. Gone are the days were 40+ nations were in the competition, that doesn't have to be that way forever. We can make adjustments, big or small, that keep our contest interesting and most importantly fun! Who says we shouldn't consider the idea of semi finals or of changes to the voting process? A #LiberalCommittee would consider these things.
- TOLERANCE. Recent incidents have proven to us as a community that the current measures for ensuring that nations feel supported when they feel subjected to offensive language and abuse, are not enough. There should be a system - whether that be a formal system of reporting abuse, or a designated committee member that deals with these incidents, I believe we can do better.

Besen at the contest:
- We have participated in 11 contests, soon to be 12, and have been around since WV63.
- We hosted the 72nd contest in Lipa.
- We have been lucky to receive two podium places, and six top 10 finishes.

If you agree with me, or just want to see Besen give a positive input to the Worldvision community, do not hesitate to VOTE FOR BESEN and support the #LiberalCommittee platform.

Following discussions with the Kalosian government, Radiu-Televižio Kalosia can hereby confirm participation at the 81st WorldVision Song Contest. As part of the agreement reached, RTVK hereby requests the organizing team to enact special provisions for the (downsized) Kalosian delegation to allow for social distancing to occur.

RTVK's WorldVision social media account has released a teaser video in which members of everyday society (in their residences) listen to the song and give their initial reactions on it (similar to this video). Reactions include:

Young woman wrote:Wow it's in Kalosian!

Middle-aged man wrote:The literary reference being made here is interesting, and she can sing too.

Woman in her 40s wrote:Ooh yes disco! [starts shaking her body]

Old man wrote:[just outright dancing with all his life]

College-aged woman wrote:Is that... is that 5 key changes?

Pre-teen boy wrote:This reminds me of a video I saw where a song like this was playing in the background, the video was of an airport conveyor belt and someone had placed a fake peni— [camera cuts]

And then the camera revisits each of those people saying their final verdicts, all of them positive and along the lines of "It's good" "Good" Yeah I like it" "This is amazing" "Love it!"

Stay tuned for the reveal of the Kalosian entry!

OFFICIAL BID FOR 81ST WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST
Image

Amuaplye.

Whenever you hear about Amuaplye, it means that something has gone horribly wrong there, it seems. Another bombing, another assassination attempt, another scandal. Constant violence and political backstabbing. Government incompetence. A tired and weary Prime Minister trying to reassure the masses as the country goes through yet another crisis.

Well, it's been a year since all of those incidents happened, and it's time to change our image. We know that we might be fighting a losing battle, especially with much bigger nations having already bid for the contest, but we are confident that we might at least put our names in the books. We are not discouraged by these bigger nations.

With a new decade, comes a new change of pace. Perhaps a smaller nation can have a turn at bidding this time?

Your City

Brisbane is the 3rd largest city in Amuaplye, home to 2 and a half million people, though its metropolitan area is home to nearly 4 million. The main part of Brisbane is in a peninsula near the Brisbane River, about 9 miles away from the mouth of said river. The city lies in a densely-populated floodplain.

Brisbane is the oldest city in Amuaplye, having been first an Aboriginal settlement. It is named after the nearby Brisbane River, which is named after Thomas Brisbane, the Governor-General of New South Wales back when the city was first inhabited by British prisoners.

The Moreton Bay prison settlement was founded in 1824 in nearby Radcliffe, 17 miles away, but was abandoned and the prisoners relocated to North Quay the following year, and was open to settlers in 1842. Brisbane was named the capital city of Queensland when it was declared independent from New South Wales in 1859. It also played a key role in the Second World War, being the South Pacific headquarters of the US Army at the time, run by Gen. Douglas MacArthur.

Brisbane is also an extremely diverse city, with 1/3 of the population being immigrants, and is known for its distinct style of architecture. It is also served by an expansive rail, bus, and ferry network, along with the 3rd biggest airport in Amuaplye, and several seaports.

Brisbane is also an extremely popular tourist destination, home to a large amount of historic and cultural sites, and several popular surf beaches.

Image

Your Arena

The Brisbane Entertainment Centre is a large indoor arena in the suburb of Boondall. It has a vast array of seating plans, varying from performance to performance, but its maximum capacity is 13,500 people. It is home to not only 1 arena, but multiple, with one large arena, a sports complex, and several smaller rooms for stuff like wedding receptions and business meetings.

The arena was built in 1986 for the Brisbane Bullets basketball team up until 1997, and for the Queensland Firebirds from 2015 to 2019. It has also been used for skating events, plays, musicals, and concerts.

The concert area will be a large raised square, with a large array of pyrotechnics, water jets, laser lights (pictured below), rising platforms in the center of the stage, and a large LED screen that can be programmed to display video and audio. An entire orchestra, the Brisbane National Orchestra will be provided if needed, with the orchestra pit in front of the stage. There will also be speakers placed all around the arena, making sure that everybody in the arena can hear the concert.

Your Hosts

Frankie Bradley is a politician, actor, athlete, and activist. His claim to fame was his gold medal in cross-country skiing in an international sports contest, which brought him fame, but also led to him suffering severe leg injuries in 2018 that hindered his ability to compete. As a result, he became an activist and founded the charity Peace, dedicated to stopping conflicts worldwide, its executives going all across the world to mediate disputes between anyone, from landowners to governments.

This caught the eye of Nathan Bishop, the head of the Amuaplye Investigative Force, who was pursuing a run for the ACP leadership election. He was promised a major government role if he won, due to his contributions to international disputes. The election was cancelled due to a major crisis, but when Bishop became Prime Minister in 2019, Bradley was named the Deputy Prime Minister. While he lost the title when Bishop lost re-election later that year, he is still a major social force, having left politics.

Now, the actor part. While he has left politics and hasn't competed in nearly a year, he has carved his niche in acting. He is well known for his roles in The World Stage series of movies, playing former Prime Minister Andrew Stelton in It Roars, Then Stops (2020), and will play him as Prime Minister in the 3rd film in the series, We Are Under Attack, in 2021.

Image

Angela Payton is an Amuaplyean singer and songwriter. Her career began in 2019, when she released her 1st album, Ерок (Love), which tells several stories from several perspectives about love. Half of the album is in English, and the other half is in Amuaplyean. The album went under the radar mostly, although the title track, Ерок, did hit #45 on the Amuaplyean charts.

This was, until another one of her songs, Forgive Me, was used not only in a viral marketing campaign for the jewelry company JewelDazzle, but in the film Robert's Request, a rom-com about a man named Robert trying to reconnect with his ex-girlfriend, Julie in late 2019. As a result, the song shot up the charts, going from not even charting when it was released, to #1 in January of 2020, and was Amuaplye's entrant to the 79th WorldVision Song Contest, placing 14th.

World, stop voting now!

Semi Finals 1 & 2 for the Landa vy Polkopiya have both concluded, meaning that it's time to reveal who will be qualifying to the Grand Final for a chance to win one of Polkopia's biggest annual music award shows in the country. The winner of the Landa vy Polkopiya will have the opportunity to represent Polkopia at the Worldvision Song Contest - the largest music competition in the multiverse! This edition, the Landa vy Polkopiya drew interest from eleven different nations, with each of them sending a team of music experts to vote on who was to qualify for the Grand Final. The two qualifying acts from each semi-final are decided in this matter, whereas the Wildcard spot is awarded to a non-qualifying entry that the Polkopian jury feels as if though it deserves a place in the Grand Final. With the four qualifiers and one Wildcard spot, there are to be five acts competing in the Grand Final, each of them vying for the top spot in the competition.

Semi Final 1 Votes:

The following scoreboard shows the results for Semi Final 1. Juries from Scotatrova, Izmedu, Besen, Ertzei Kishim, Achaean Republic, and Todlichebujoku have all voted in this semi-final.

Semi Final 2 Votes:

Her name is Ǧamilah (pronounced like Jameela) and she previously represented Kalosia at the WorldVision Song Contest 47, where she came 3rd.

Unlike her previous WV entry Someday, the song she'll sing this time 'round will be entirely in Kalosian. More details of the song to be announced soon, so stay tuned!

IZMEDU'S MANIFESTO

If you've participated in either WV or WHF, you may know me as Izmedu, Izzy, or Iz. I've been in WorldVision since WV34 and have won the contest three times. I've not hosted the contest nor ever ran for a spot in the committee. The bulk of my admnistrative, hosting, and moderation experience comes from the World Hit Festival, where I was the overseer from WHF31 to WHF41. I've also hosted 10 editions of the World Hit Festival.

I don't come into this election with any specific vision, direction, or mandate into any immediate changes for WorldVision. Instead, I campaign as a user who is ready to be flexible and moderate. That is, I wish to augment what is already working in the contest, work with other committee members to help shape the futures they envision, and help mediate ideas that can work and those that may need more time in the oven. Therefore my stated intention is to keep maintaining what makes WorldVision fun and what makes WorldVision work, while also making sure to keep an eye out for ideas that can potentially take WorldVision to the next level, whatever those ideas may be. No contest can ever stay the same forever, but my hope as a committee member is to identify when those changes are necessary, and work with the committee as a team to determine the best next steps for WorldVision.

For example, if one wants to bring more pre-contest engagement to WorldVision, I'm happy to collaborate with the committee or any other nation that has any idea they wish to bring forward. I'd be happy to participate in RP events in Discord. I'm currently signed up for the Junterapten pre-party and I also did betting odds + betting articles in WV65 under the Klarete series. I also currently maintain a twitter account for my broadcaster, RTI, and I plan on utilizing it far more in the future. I've done a twitter thread with the channel reporting on my national final's jury rehearsals. If there are ideas, I want to hear them and I definitely wish to engage them to figure out what we can concretely do to make WorldVision an interactive, fun event that's more than just an IC thread where we post entries and vote.

I aim to bring flexibility, humanity, and also activity to WorldVision. I am a firm supporter of the hard/soft deadline rules currently in place. Additionally, I'm a fan of bringing in a little bit of spice to the committee messages and to make sure that they aren't simply just messages written from above with an authoritative tone that can be intimidating. I will also be active, either behind the scenes, the discord server, or here in the forums. Concern over the OOC thread's lack of updates has been raised, and I aim to work with the committee to ensure that OOC threads will be updated more regularly in the future. I am happy to work in whatever form they wish, whether it'll be an informal way of going about things or a more regimented schedule of daily updates. As WHF overseer, it was my responsibility to accept new entries and update the WHF OOC thread as regularly as possible, and I am happy to transfer what I have learned from WHF over to the committee.

Though being in the committee does mean administrative power over the contest and the Discord server, I remain steadfast in being a resource for any nation for entry help or to just talk about things in general. One of the best things about WorldVision is the sense of community I've found and what everyone here cultivates. I've made years-long friends with both nations new and old and I always enjoy talking about anything with any member of the community, whether that be about anything WorldVision related, RL itself, or whatever comes to mind. That still stands whether or not I am elected into the committee.

No matter what happens, I absolutely want to stick around in WorldVision for as long as I can. If you vote for me, you can be assured you are electing someone with experience, flexibility, someone willing to provide a human face to the contest, and those text walls too ;)

Welcome back! Everything's good here - just still seems a bit surreal that this is the way of life now for the time-being. How's everything been with you?

Everything has been great lately, I've been busy with work and theatre and songwriting, but I've been at home for a week since the state I live in shut down the bar I work at and I honestly haven't spent this much time in my own house maybe ever in my life. Starting to go a little stir crazy because I'm a very social person, but I'm trying to stay calm and occupied so I don't get bored
