Chief Secretary Gerrit Visser has arrived in the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia on an official visit. This foreign visit by the head of government of West Zilveren Berg is ahead of a major historic referendum, where the citizens of West Zilveren Berg will vote whether or not to remove the non-bloc and neutrality status of the country. In case these rules are removed, political analysts see this visit as a preparation for the possible beginning of West Zilveren Berg's shift towards a more decisive foreign policy of building closer ties with the Corentian bloc. The Chief Secretary appears to hope for that kind of an outcome, since the head of government is personally campaigning for voting to remove the non-bloc status. It is expected that in the talks with the Sunrisians, the Chief Secretary will touch on the topics of possibly replacing the current SOWEFTA–West Zilveren Berg Deep and Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with a free trade agreement, which has been talked about in West Zilveren Berg and which Sunrisia has previously expressed support for. Possibly, the sides will discuss the potential of moving the bilateral West Zilveren Berg–Sunrisia Enhanced Trade and Investment Agreement towards a more extensive and closely knit deal as well. As for other areas of cooperation, Chief Secretary Gerrit Visser might also discuss a deepening cooperative military relationship with MDAA.
