The LIVE DRAW BEGINS AT 23:10 GMT!

Postby Britonisea » Sat Dec 28, 2019 6:21 pm

As tradition with Britonish (and now Estogian) hostings, BVC and RVC will be coming together to broadcast WORLD HIT FESTIVAL 49: THE LIVE DRAW which will be broadcast on BVC Two and RVC 2 in their respective countries. We invite all fans of the World Hit Festival to watch the Live Draw with details about it being below.

LIVE Draws and Running Order
29th December 2019, 23:10 GMT

This will take place on #worldhitfestival on our Discord Channel, the link to which you can find on the Opening Post.

In keeping with tradition, Britonisea's running number will be broadcast first (at around 2315) before we go in alphabet order (whether that be A-Z or Z-A) or posting order through the list of nations where we will find out whether a nation will perform in the 1st or 2nd half.

BVC and RVC will then go away for 40 minutes to decide the running order which will be made here after and the Discord Channel.

It's a fun event in the run up to the posting of entries and start of the IC side of the World Hit Festival!!!

Between now and then, however, please get those entries in! Remember, this is a very important edition in the run up to the 50th World Hit Festival so get posting!!!

Since Angelica Magsaysay Decided to Change the Entry due to Plagiarism on WHF51 to Prevent Disqualification, The Entry will be Be Sassy, Be Cherish, Be Joyfull.

The Song was Composed, Writted and Sang back by Andrea Magsaysay in 1990 to make the Background Music for Selecta Ice Cream Ad. It was being Popular and it was covered in Indoesh late 1993 by Alice Desnilla.

The Song was in the Album, "Being Sassy" where The Fatimanian Popular Hit Songs including Jamais N'Dêixar Cesterin Flané (Never Stop Following You), Cherish Life, Never Know You (Like this Before), Please Forget Me, Remember the Past (or Also Called Now Remember Me), Compter chaque minute, Love Leter (or Also Called If Someone Loved you), Dance to the Heat and Do it Again and Be Sassy, Be Cherish, Be Joyfull. All of these are Based on Sonia Evans' Songs.

Today, All of the Album was now Covered by Angelica Magsaysay, Andrea's Niece. She has Remastered her aunt's Songs where Angelica's Voice was Similar to Andrea while she was 19 until 40. Recently, Andrea's voice was look alike Ali Sotto.

Orientation & Grace Period Extension

Postby Britonisea » Sun Dec 29, 2019 2:40 pm

Just to double triple make sure that the orientation is right!

Image

As you can see from above, the black are where people are sitting in tiers, the yellow outlined transparent boxes are where people are standing up. The blue is the stage floor with the LED at the back of the stage. It's not a huge LED because the width of the stage isn't that big lol. The arrow going down are beams - which you can see in the performances I linked - that goes right down that side of the stage from the top. We stopped it around 3 or 4 metres in the air from the floor however and tried to cram in some more people standing from behind the stage.

When we refer to "THE FRONT" of the stage, at the end of the arrow (where the arrowhead is) is the front of the stage (downstage) whereas the back of the stage (upstage) is where the LEDs are.

The Britonish entry is mainly facing the stands at the top of (the top bit of the black L, facing that way) because the entry is quite wide. Estogium's entry isn't wide and therefore, the Estogian act is facing forward towards downstage.

Hope that clears everything up!

I will be out tomorrow evening - I might come back before the deadline but I am not going to rush, so I've decided to extend the Grace Period deadline to Tuesday 12PM UK TIME! at which point, all entries are considered FINAL. Please use this extension wisely.

I will also move the voting deadline back by one day (from Sunday to Monday) with the first day of voting to start on Tuesday, I think. Tues, Weds, Fri, Sat - if I can wrap it up in four days I will. Any changes, I will tell you guys.

Last place with 0 points was my goal and i am happy because i got it.

I wound like to send my congratulations to the winner for his song. It is nice to see him win again knowing that the "Bankrupt RTI by mass hosting WHF" meme is alive.

I (and my Master) will likely be represented in WHF50 with a song from the Norwegian Eurovision selection and probably some shitty video I found and then spend 1 minute writing a joke entry

I've said my thanks on Discord, but I also wanted to say my thanks here as well.

I did not expect this result or to win this edition of WHF. I thought Lane moje was as far as I could go. What I've achieved with WHF is a blessing and is something I'm incredibly proud of. RL's been immensely busy and there were parts where I thought I couldn't sustain WV and WHF participation any longer. To see the support and the points I got is nothing less than absolutely heartwarming. It's an honor to be your winner, thank you so much.

There's no particular RL story attached to Someone You Loved. However, I've had the general narrative trajectory of the song in my head ever since it came 2nd in its NF a while ago. To see it pay off is incredible.

Be bold. Your WHF winner might be the last tune you'd expect to win. Time and time again, looking back at some of the songs I've won with, they were songs that, had you asked me years ago if I thought they'd even podium, I would've said 'lovely songs, but no way they'd touch the top 5.' I stand with the firm belief that anything is possible in WHF. The song that you might cherish sentimentally but are afraid to send or the song you've had on reserve for weeks/months/years could well be your best result in the making. If you are willing to, don't be afraid to take that chance.

I also just want to tip my hat off to Britonisea for a fantastic contest. Well done. You're nearing the end of your overseership and I can't be any more prouder. I'll have more to say when WHF50 hits the record books, we still have the big anniversary edition to do.

Roll on WHF50. I can't wait to celebrate WHF's golden anniversary with you all. See you in the next contest :)
