My main opposing stance to this is coughing up part of my GDP to a group who I do not know if they can properly assist in military operations... If there is a way for the Armed Republic to be of assistance without coughing up an arm and a leg to support the likes of a coffee-less heathen like one certain nation... ;) ...we would consider this offer.

We made the charter to counter that. :)

Unfortunately, we must respectfully decline the offer. However if this group ever needs military assistance (RP wise), please feel free to reach out. It wouldn't cost to much...

I'm here too, though I have a strong issue with the second-to-last clause of the charter. I don't think a student exchange (minus the exchange) is an appropriate or relevant clause in a military alliance charter. It also seems to implicitly elevate you to a higher position in the alliance.

IC wise there's no way I would agree to something like that.

Have military budget be at least 3%, with said budget going into the best equipment and training possible-excessive salaries will not count.

and the aspect of .5% of your GDP greatly affects some nations... I have 58.4% of my govt. spending being crammed into defense with a11.8% GDP rate... and I still out military spend Jolthig who has a massive economy and higher GDP percentage in comparison... 64.2% Adjusting for differing currency values, It's even bigger/etc.

I'm crunching the numbers (But Eternal Lotharia's isn't coming up atm) and frankly, it doesn't look like a fiscally responsible act to hard cap a percentage of your GDP that could be better spent elsewhere. Don't get me started on the fact that a certain Coffee hater doesn't even have a military budget.

Overall I think some of this is flawed although generally it was a decent idea. I'd be willing to sit around as an observer and a military banker/etc. if y'all needed the assistance... (You probably do).

All of this is based off of NSEconomy + NSstats.

Well, NSStat wise, I have a negative military, so that might be…inconvenient.

So I’m kind of incapable of fulfilling…multiple of these clauses.

17.8% of my government budget is in defense (out of a total govt expenditure of 88.9 trillion of my currency), so I'd be good as far as lending arms to the alliance.

However, my nation is also well suited for providing vehicles to alliance members (I'm in the top 8% in automobile production on NS).

I've got some major gripes I'll voice later about this "Pact" Eternal. Mainly regarding what I'm seeing as a power grab with unfair duties enforced on it's members.

Eternal Lotharia wrote:Guys don't use NSstats and issue stances to determine GDP, foreign policy, etc. just don't.
RP ones and gameplay ones should be separate for realism and flexibility reasons.

Like 17% on defense and 86T is unrealistic as hell.
I'll remove the academy clause it was meant as a unifying political education and cultural exchange program.

And these clauses will all essentially assure the alliance will not divide politically or have internal conflicts, they seem necessary.

So... just giving a bullshit number with no backing for GDP... Sorry Et, stuff like this makes me nope right on out of these things.

Along with this I don't like how you say you can only opt out if OOC busy. That's a pretty shitty thing to try and enforce and isn't even enforceable outside. People are free to come and go as is and shouldn't be bound to this just because you want numbers/members. Sorry bud, it's a hard no from me.

It's actually a problem in NS alliances where most members never take part in stuff.

Also not bs it's based on geography and resources and realism. Working on a map.

Except we have our own maps for our nations and our own lore. To box people in with these limitations is a bit off putting.

Also I still think you should scrap the anti-opt out crap. No person can control others and frankly this is looking more and more like an OOC power grab similar to past attempts. Nothing against you brother, it's just not meant for me with all the fine print. Best of luck with this however.
