Enríkos sat in the Gallery of Demigods in his personal pleasure palace at Apellaios, lounging on an ottoman covered in over stuffed pillows and women. The halls, designed by him was part of the ever changing designs and projects that the young king was doing on his residences. No one who visited one of his palaces ever came to the same place twice. Each time it was a new experience. Today Enríkos had taken inspiration of the tales of demigods that his country had countless stories of. The long hall was lined with marble scenes of hero’s grappling with monsters, vanquishing enemies and making love. Of course, Enríkos had replaced each of the hero’s with marble versions of himself. They were very detailed, if not for the fact that they were twice as large as life, one might think they were actual people covered in paint. Everything from the scales of the hydra to the heads of Cerberus to Enríkos’ own rippling muscles was gone with extreme care. It was a sort of version of self care, and who need more self care than Enríkos? Not physically of course, he was the perfect specimen of a man after all. But on the inside. He was the only one throwing parties of late. Everyone else was whining about being hungry or not enough rations.

Enrikos found it all so horribly unfair that he was being blamed. It wasn’t as if it was his fault (never mind the fact that he had been the one to accidentally destroy the kingdom’s environment). But Enríkos did have to do something. He’d been search for weeks now for a favorable and acceptable deal for him and his people. This he’d been having meetings such as these. He was to meet with the CEO of the something something. He would have one of the beautiful ladies that were sprawl on the pillows beside him.

The young and handsome sex symbol of a king himself was seated with his latest mistress, the Honorable Miss Xeneli seared on his lap. She wore a skimpy piece of black silk that only barely covered her chest, much less the rest of her dark skin. King Enríkos himself was dressed in one of his signature extravagant outfits. It, like Xeneli’s was black. The Court of Cinyras was technically still in mourning for the loss of Enríkos’ brother-in-law Arthur, though aside from the attire, Enríkos showed no signs of mourning. He’d never particularly liked Arthur. Enríkos was topless, his finely sculpted muscles slightly oiled with a sheen of silver flecks, arm braces around his biceps and a black choker with a silver sun around his neck. Three iron chains hung across his pectorals, anchored to piercings on his nipples. He wore think nearly see-through trousers that sat low on his hips laced with silver threads. He was barefoot, his toenails painted silver. The other women, each I black dresses the size of hand towels lounged around him, musing his blonde hair and his running his fingers down his arm.

The Count of Magnesia, Enrikos’ majordomo, and good percent of his impulse control, dressed in black harem pants and magenta sleeves that ended at his shoulders and marched the silk sash that was twisted around his waist; ushered Jisona Vick into the Gallery. Magnesia, better known by his nicknamed that the king had give him, Magenta presented Jisona Vick with a beautifully choreographed flourish.

Jisona followed the man in front of him, and then accepted the gift before saying “Thank you, your majesty, you are most generous” he then said “I am Jisona Vick, elected CEO of the Merchant Naval Conglomerate, and current representative of the Conglomerate, I thank you for gifting me with the price ledge of being in your presence this day”

He then said “And that generosity cannot go without being repaid” he then opened a briefcase he had brought with him, which revealed that it was sectioned, one section was closed, concealing the contents, while the other was open, revealing an intricately carved hardened steel knife, with a simultaneously wicked and beautifully curved twenty inch blade, with intricate tribal silver inlays spiraling across the blade, the pommel made of pure 24 karret gold, with detailing of platinum and diamond. Within the dominion, it would be a truely priceless weapon, likely to be handed down for centuries. However, even as beautiful as it was, its edge was still razor sharp, ready to draw blood at the request of its owner.

Jisona carefully lifted the blade, and presented it to the king and said “It is a traditional Sov’Kavek Blade, forged from the highest quality materials available by a truely skilled smith. There are many that believe that each blade contains within it one of the great spirits, who feeds on the blood that it spills, and in return gives the user good tidings in battle” he then said “By Corrandmian tradition, it is a gift of great honor to bestow a family blade upon someone of a superior standing”

Enríkos touched Xeneli’s hip and like a hesitant cat she crawled out of his lap so that Enríkos could lean forward and hold the blade. He licked Vick. Anyone who recognized the gift it was to be in his presence was someone that he liked. He twirled the sword around. Enríkos had always been a lover not a fighter, but that didn’t mean that he wasn’t one for a good fight. Still, this would make for a lovely gift for Christaan, what with his warrior heart and collection of various cultural artifacts from across the world. This one would be among the view items given rather than taken.

“I accept your gift Mr. Vick,” Enríkos said, still admiring the sword. It really was beautiful. He wondered if it was from Vick’s own family. He wished all of of his visitors brought him gifts. Hmm. He might require them to. “And thus, you are my guest. Please, seat.” He gestured time a spot on the mound of pillows on the couch.

Enríkos sat back down and ran his finger down the flat of the blade, careful not to cut himself, curious at what Corrandmian spirit might be trapped within it. Xeneli crawled back into the ottoman, sitting behind him, rubbing her hands over his shoulders and down his back. Enríkos looked up from the sword back to Jisona Vick. The Merchant Naval Conglomerate of the Dominion eh? Enríkos wasn’t sure what yet to think of such a conglomerate. Enríkos had always been rather partial to big businesses. He liked wealth and liked the many ways that the best of the businessmen and -women could amass great amounts of it.

“I hope that you may enjoy all the wonders of my kingdom whilst you are here.”

Jisona sat down, and then said “I am certain that I shall enjoy them” he then said “However, before I do, I believe that it would be very prudent to get down to buisness” he then opened up the second section of the suitcase, revealing a set of papers and then he said “The conglomerate has taken notice to the troubling situation that is currently taking place here in Cinyras, most importantly your public image.” He then said “And we believe it is possible to kill two birds with one stone, deal with the food issue, in the long term, and help the people to see how truely generous and wonderful your rule is”

He then said “You see, the Conglomerate has a total of twenty three corporations that we can bring to bear, putting people to work, helping to establish long term farming to help provide a long term, domestic supply of food, and introduce Corrandmian aquaculture techniques as well, to help provide a steadily supply of seafood without exhausting the population of suitable fish. To add a cherry on top, we could begin the construction of a spaceport, in your name of course, to help facilitate travel to Cinyras from the Cosmos”

He laid out the papers in front of the King and said “and you can take credit for all of this of course, you gain a better public image, a happy populace, and improved infrastructure, while we gain a new market and make a profit” he then said “A mutually beneficial deal”

Enríkos looked down at the stack of papers and found it infinitely less interesting that the shiny sword. He set the weapon down and picked up several of the papers, skimming through them. He looked back at Vick, fighting back a yawn. This was one part of business that he loathed. Paperwork and contracts were so boring. Enríkos thought of Christiaan and how he picked things apart before coming to a decision and tried to channel that.

“I am sure that my,” Enríkos shivered, “unpopularity is only temporary. The people will remember that I am their king and that they love me.” It was more of a point made for himself than Vick. Still, he didn’t want people to think that he needed them to handle his own country. “But say if you were to try and bring domestic farming back to Cinyras, how exactly would you maintain it. My kingdom is rocky and there has always been very little suitable land for agriculture. And that was before enrikosvilla covered the place. We have tried to protect farms and fields, but my flower is strong and tears through everything. And for every green house that is built, it has to be of the best quality just to keep it from being containment by the air.”

Enríkos gave his hand in the air, gesturing around them. “Even here, as in all of my country the traces of the pollen drifts through the air. To have the same sort of decontamination checks like those at the air port or the docks... the expense would be great to have them at green houses.”

“And can you truly feed tens of thousands on fish alone?” Enríkos scoffed. “It is poor people food.”

Enríkos flopped through the sheets, tossing the ones he had no interest in at the moment to the side. He plucked up the one about the spaceport. “I do like the idea of building a spaceport. Especially one named after me. The Enríkos Spaceport. No! The King Enríkos Spaceport. No! The King Enríkos Starport! No! The King Enríkos Celestial Anchorage! Ooh, yes, that sounds good, no?” Cinyras did have several colonial possessions, but they were newly acquired former Rogeno colonies and while Enríkos had great plans for them, they needed a strong tether to the Fatherland.

“I think I shall take your cherry,” Enríkos said with a smirk. “You can explain to me how you shall make a sundae that shall work for Cinyras.”

He nodded and said “That is where the use of Corrandmian techniques come in, you see, we have extensive experience in both hydroponics” he then said “Hydroonics that is designed to deal with Antarctic conditions, and too keep the plants both alive and prospering under those conditions.” He then said “And in regards to fish, the meat from suitable species is very high on proteins, making it more than acceptable, plus fish are not the only form of food that can be harvested from the ocean, crabs, lobsters, shellfish, shrimp” he then said “For centuries Corrandmian tribes survived off of such a diet, and in such a situation, I doubt that the people would be very choosy”

Enríkos wrinkled his nose at the thought of lobster. It was such a disgusting thing. And he didn’t know what the difference was between a lobster and a fish, weren’t they the same thing? He tilted his head.

“You are going to grow plants in water tanks?”

Enríkos ran his fingers through his hair, trying to understand what the hydroponic system was, much less how it actually worked.

“And then, these, these water tank crops and stuff would been be sold to the people?”
