Some bleacher's had been set up, a table full of various food and drink had been set up, and lights illuminated the area. In the center there stood a series of giant containers alongside a freezer, all hooked up to generators. A table stood next to them, a white shroud displaying the outline of the deceased delegate. Around twelve doktors of varying degrees of humanity stood around, waiting for The Dean to instruct them. The Dean was meanwhile broadcasting a high series of notes into the darkness, which SIC was the language of Binary.IC About twenty guards overall lined the clearing, their halberds supplemented by glowing EPEP pistols. Above the trees, the outlines of three portable EPEP defensive batteries waved as they endlessly tracked and ignored potential threats. Coming closer, large stomping could be heard.

"I take it we can dig in when we feel?" Sir Nigel Asked. He turned and Lifted his hat In greeting to the Doktors and the guards.
Thomas had become entranced with the shroud. Sir Nigel turned back to him
"Save it till later" He advised

The three forgone the rest of the people and piled food onto plates and took them to sit far enough away from the others. They didn't care if they would see anything that would cause others not to eat and so they started in on the food. After a few mouthfuls they went and got some more food and waited for whatever was to begin.

"Foods not that bad." Iris commented
"True but its missing something." Mikan said
"You're right but oh well." Brant said
"You know I just realized this could be poisoned." Iris commented but kept eating
"We'll be fine." Brant said

"Why, of course. This isn't Nicksyllvania, there isn't any poison in the orange food,or any for that matter. If we needed to dispose of anybody, we'd melt their bodies into dripping piles of gore with the EPEP systems."

Meanwhile, The Dean motioned Thomas to come over to a more or less secluded area."I must discuss something with you."

Colton took small bites of food off of his plate. The food wasn't particularly good, but then again he was used to better. Regardless, he was hungry so he ate. He was amused by the discussion at hand, and how Johnny proceeded without fear of insulting the nekos.

"I know....what it is like to lose a loved one. My wife.....I swore I would improve Science and Progress so that I could bring her back. I tried, she was the first experiment.....but it failed. She didn't revive. Listen......this may be uncomfortable. She will have to be cut open for us to put the required adjustments in. She....will be very underdressed, I'm afraid, for surgery. If it disturbs you...well, we will not do it, though we are hoping it will work. If you mind your.... departed being surgically opened and tinkered with, say so.

The operation.....it may not, almost certainly will not work. There is but a one percent chance. We are willing to take that chance, for you. Emotion.....we still have it, as hard as we try. If it fails....we will be sorry. If something goes wrong.....we will put her out of her misery."

He pulled a hand, and showed Thomas a gun. Not EPEP; just a normal Raven pistol, a cheap Saturday night special, and several bullets next to it.

"We have...no need for ammunition anymore, here. But that means we do not produce anymore. This gun was not cheap. However......EPEP is a horrible way to kill a person. It doesn't penetrate, it merely hurls a glob of plasma that is, on the normal setting, about three thousand degrees Celsius. A person.....will liquify. This gun still shoots bullet. If she comes back wrong.......it will not hurt much if properly aimed."

The Dean's mask revealed nothing, but contrary to his disciplined nature earlier he seemed almost weary now, "On my good nature as The De - as Franklin Nathaniel Stein.....we will bring her back."

At this, he fell silent, looking up at the stars.

"It's a beautiful night in New Amerik, and here I am as alone as ever. Damn, I thought there would be more company here but even the Nekos are gone. Not that we'd talk in the first place."

He took another drag and let the smoke slowly waft out of his mouth.

He saw the 20 guards and Thomas with guns. 21 versus 1 doesn't look good. Luther was thinking up a plan. He could use the vial of Small Pox he stole from that science lab one time. It had been in that freezer-vault so long they didn't even notice it was gone for two years, but infecting everyone seemed a bad idea. The vial would have to be used later. Perhaps if things went wrong....

No time for that now. besides, no way of knowing what this sample would do. Perhaps it was a dummy sample. Anyway, it would be a last resort.

Yes, that was it, he would wait ill he got his cigar, then he would go say he had to use the bathroom, and then shoot the guards from afar. He might have to shoot Thomas too, but he was willing to do anything to get that revivification machine, even if it didn't work.

OOC: Don't worry, it isn't really small pox, what he stole was a vial of enhanced chicken pox, worst that could happen is your entire body gets covered in chicken pox.
