Sign here for the Future (INVITE ONLY)

Postby The Selkie » Tue Oct 15, 2019 12:32 am

Hello and welcome to Sign here for the Future!
In this RP, the nations of the Strategic and Economic Alliance, SEA for short, come together to sign the SEA-Accords, the founding document. A state ceremony of tremendous importance.
However, this RP is invite only, which means, that only people invited to this event are allowed to participate. So far, those are:
If you are not a member of SEA, but want to participate, you can only do that as an observer. Only Region-members can sign these accords!
If you want to become a region-member, though, you can always throw me a TG and I'll ask the other members, if they agree.

You are, of course, allowed to read along, so have fun!

Fortham, 15th of October, 2019.
A nervous air laid in the air on that morning.
Today, the eyes of the world were directed at the closest thing the Free Lands had to a capital, a city of 12,669 people (according to the 2018 census) - by international standards merely a village, but by Selkie-Standards quite large.
And quite large the reception would be!
Heads of State, Heads of Government and important representatives of many foreign nations came to sign the Accords on the Foundation of a Strategic and Economic Alliance between Free and Sovereign Peoples, in short the SEA-Accords. The Future, many analysts agreed, would have a better chance of looking brighter with these accords, which would not only ensure the defense of the signatories, the aid in case things went wrong, would establish the goal of working towards environmental protection and, most importantly, would establish the goal of working towards a huge, shared market.
It would be incredible, which opportunities were offered due to that, for businesses on all sides.
Yet, the Free Lands were chosen to serve as the backdrop for this occasion, Fortham specifically. The delegations of the signatory nations had landed at Fortham Army Air Field, to be received by an honour guard of the SDF. There, they had boarded a series of carriages, open topped and with soft cushions, to make the short trip to nearby Fortham, under the mounted and armed escort of the best Marcach the Free Lands had. The traditional horsemen in their ancient armours were led by Marla Cróimiam of the Tribe of Cork, herself an Ambassador of the Selkie and quite well-known abroad due to that. A total of 150 Marcach rode as their escort.
Until they had come to the City Gates. There, the mayor of Fortham had received them with the notabilities of the city and a small honour guard of the City Guards. Marla had led them through the short reception, stating, that they were friends of these lands and the city.
Upon that, the mayor had allowed them to pass City Gates.
The Main Street, which went first to the Main Temple of Rhiannon, then to Elder Castle, had been lined by detachments of the Younger Militias, behind whom people had cheered for the guests, even singing a song or two. The colourful tunics of the young men and women in chainmail, their pikes and crossbows at the ready, had served as an excellent reminder of the internal diversity of the Free Lands.
On the square in front of the Main Temple of Rhiannon, the Lancemaidens, the Seminary and the High Priest with his entourage had greeted them. The latter spoke blessings for all of the delegates and their homelands.
They then arrived at Elder Castle, where the main event was about to happen, in front of observers from all over the world. Stands had been erected around the large, round table, where the accords would be signed. The square in front of Elder Castle, a literal small castle, was the place.
There, the delegates had disembarked and find both a bit of refreshments and the actual signing ceremony. Master of Ceremonies was Nia Sneachtúil, of Cefnffordd Descent, an Ancient Spiorad, who had helped working out the day's schedule to the point of her having been in charge of it.
From all over the world, attendees would witness this, television cameras and reporters would capture every moment from nearly all angles.
Signing for the Free Lands, the Elder Council had decided, was Felicia Sciotóg of the Tribe of Monaghan, the Head of the Foreign Office, and Mona Beag of the Tribe of Louth, the Envoy of Lodan Lir, the latter, as a young woman of fifteen Springs, in the name of the Free Land's Youth, for it was their future, which would be sealed here today.
After the actual signatories signed the document, the witnesses would sign it. Notabilities from the Free Lands and from abroad would sign, that they witnessed this ceremony, that they saw the signing, that they saw, what these accords entailed. For the Free Lands, those were General Ferris Taoiseach of the Tribe of Antrim, the Supreme Commander of the SDF, Tyran Cróimiam of the Tribe of Cork, an accomplished Marcach, Fiona Banphrionsa of the Tribe of Cavan, the owner and CEO of Gabha Blacksmiths Limited, Celina Ollamh of the Tribe of Monaghan, a Professor of History of high renown, and Branwen Chwilfrydig, the 'leader' of the Spiorad Ainmhithe and wise woman.
Non-signatories would only observe. Their stands were filled with people of high renown, for example, the Sultanate of Kyrenaia sent Princess Aurelia bint-Damir and Prince Okan ibn-Dardan, one a Half-Selkie herself, the other a Prince of high renown. From the Empire of the Scarlet Eagle, William Raven, the First Secretary of the Imperial Cabinet, was present. The list went on for a while.
Of course, the security was tight to the point of absurdity. Helicopters of the Army stood at the ready for medical evacuations, interceptors patrolled the skies, the Army had reinforced the City Guard in keeping things civil... there were enough reasons.
Opponents of the accords had planned protests all over the country and in other signatory nations as well and as they hadn't been permitted in Fortham and surroundings, the largest would take place in Riverwood, on the other side of Lake Mór, at which's shores Fortham was. Tens of thousands of people were expected in Riverwood alone.
Opponents of Globalization, Tribalists, Communists... the list as to where they came from was long, too.
In the centre of the plaza, on the large, round table, the versions to be signed were spread out, pens were at the ready next to them. Enough for everyone.

The Accords on the Foundation of a Strategic and Economic Alliance between Free and Sovereign Peoples.
Given to paper on the 14th of October, 2019 in Fortham.

Ensouled by the responsibility given to us by the Gods of our lands and by the wills of the Free and Sovereign Peoples, which we represent, the signatories of these Accords agree to uphold and value these foundations:
1. The signatories commit to defend other signatories in cases of armed attack against their territories and mainlands. This provision does not bind in cases of preemptive armed conflicts and wars of aggression.
2. The signatories commit to aid in cases of natural and humanitarian disaster.
3. The signatories will work together to establish a shared market, in which trade barriers between member nations are reduced. This reduction especially concerns tariffs on certain products, as well as the establishment of shared production standards. Specific arrangements will be handled by further agreements.
3.1. The signatories commit to allocate 0.1 percent of the revenues of tariffs on shared projects of SEA, as they are outlined in these accords and by further agreements.
4. Recognizing the need for environmental protection in this day and age, the member nations of SEA will aim at establishing shared standards and programmes aimed at the protection of nature and the environment, so that future generations may have a world to live in. Specific arrangements will be handled by further agreements.
5. Despite the above provisions, these Accords do not aim at limiting the sovereign rights of the nations and peoples signing these Accords.

Attached below was a list of all the people, who would be signing today, the witnesses and enough space for all of the stamps of those, who would be ratifying the accords. It was a tremendous occassion and if all were honest, it made them a bit nervous. After a short welcoming speech by the Master of Ceremonies, the first signatory's representatives stepped forwards, on a first come, first served basis.
The future, everyone felt, would become good.
The real fun would be the aftershow party in the inner courtyard of Elder Castle.
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.
My people are called the Selkie, the nation is usually called the Free Lands in MT-settings. Thanks.

Fortham. 15th of October, 2019.
Amongst the airplanes landing at Fortham Army Air Field, there was the well-known Nation Hopper, the special example of aircraft solely reserved for the purpose of bringing the President and further Delegation of the Federation abroad safely. Due to its colors - black-yellow-vanilla, just like the Federation's Flag - it was fairly easy to recognize.
Thanks to the weather, it had a rather uneventful flight behind itself now (so uneventful, that the pilot, Bruno Rehweiler, had almost been bored), one straight tour starting at the Airport of Marieholm in Sigurdsland, a special airport run by the Lillorainian Air Force, where seven Presidents of the Federation - so far - had already departed from, the destinations located all over the globe.
Not only President Silas Flemming was fascinated by what he would see in Fortham, the 'sorta-capital' of the Free Lands - a country mentioned in Lillorainian history multiple times, the relations between the two having had quite a few ups and downs, the latter found more in the past, the former found in the past as well, but also in the present. The future was anticipated to primarily consist of ups, and Flemming's autograph would be an important step towards it.
Fortham, including the company towards it - the famous Marcach -, received a good load of admiration also by Annika Seelscheid, speaker of the Meritocratic Council; she had seen 42 Summers, looked like barely half her age, and regularly had to answer the question of all questions - yes, she was a niece of Marie Seelscheid, the (so far) only President of the Federation whose presidency had gotten ended by bullet, back in 1994. Annika remembered that quite well - although that event (she had been 17 back then) hadn't necessarily been the reason why she had entered politics, but that was another story.
A grey-haired man in his early 50s accompanied them as well - Severin Morgenthau, CEO of Lengerich Electronics Ltd., one of Lillorainen's largest IT corporations, producing phones, PCs, tablets, and so on, and so forth. The name rang a bell with everyone who was a fan, or at least distantly familiar with Tankery, as Britta Morgenthau, who had founded the Vartrup Boarding School Sensha-Do Team, together with Joelle Charlot Engström (who actually was the daughter of two artists, her father hailing from Nouvelle-Dunkerque), happened to be nobody lesser than the girl his wife had given birth to eighteen years ago.
Gesine Stuhrscheid had come along, too. She represented Lillorainian cineastic culture in here, being particularly famous for starring as Svea Herning, the young MND Agent from the novel series of the same name, in the TV series based on the novels. Needless to say, that Svea's real-life colleagues had dropped quite a few jokes during the preparation of the plane's departure. Stuhrscheid hailed from a family of business owners, who had founded the Stuhrscheid Association, a charity and aid organization, in the 1970s. Back then, their activities had been limited to Post-Civil-War Lillorainen - nowadays, they were pretty much the Lillorainian equivalent of the Cabhair Group, aiding wherever needed.
And then, there was the youngest one amongst them - Hilda Margrethe Colonia Leverdal. Having seen 18 Summers, she was already famous all over the Federation, for her excellent performance on horseback, especially regarding velocity - a field Lillorainen hadn't really been known for excelling at ever since Sarah van Dortelen, and her victories already dated back more than thirty years. Hilda had already seen the Free Lands, twice - once during the last year's Harvest Festival in Shella, and the second time during the Spring Festival in Cuan. She was well acquainted with the Marcach, so, she would recognize Tyran Cróimian of the Tribe of Cork at once. This was just her first trip abroad for a few weeks - as not only the Marcach had gotten attentive of her, but also the Mangudai, who had invited her to Ulaanels, Sharulsi Khanate, barely a month ago, an invitation she had followed just as gladly as the one to the Free Lands.
And then, there were two other people, a man and a woman, who, however, wouldn't sign anything today, as their primary reason to be around was to observe the entire ceremony - Sophus Ingram, Ambassador of the Free City of Wiedheim to the Federation of Lillorainen, and Leilani Paia, Ambassador of the United Confederacy. Even though they were only observers, they did look forward to the ceremony - especially the aftershow party, supposed to take place in the inner courtyard of the Elder Castle.
They passed the City Gate, then went down the Main Street, giving the 'capital', for a given definition of the term, quite a few admiring looks, passing the main temple of Rhiannon, Freyja's Selkie-equivalent, receiving Her blessings, continuing, and eventually arriving at the square in front of the Elder Castle - which, by its size, reminded the Lillos of rather small structures like Schloss Lirscheid, near Nienhagen, but it did serve its purpose, so who they were to judge. The Selkie were hardly known for pretentious structures anyways.
The Master of Ceremonies gave a short welcoming speech, then the primary signatories - in case of Lillorainen, President Flemming - would be ready to sign the Accords. The Accords supposed to bring a bright future and prosperity to the nations and peoples involved in them.
The President didn't hesitate a second; nonetheless, Annika Seelscheid grinned and told him to go on, in Rhenish. He went to the small round table, took one of the pens and put his autograph where it belonged.
From now on, there was no way back. Lillorainen was aboard.

Since Lillorainen's geography is currently being overhauled a 'tiny' bit, most information on it posted before December 12, 2018, is not entirely reliable anymore. Until there's a new, proper factfile, everything you might need to know can be found here. Thank you. #RetconOfDoom (Very late update, 2020/08/30 - it's still going on ...)

Fortham. 15th of October, 2019.
Another plane would land at Fortham Army Air Field, the Asad Alhawa, entirely colored in dark green and showing a white sabre on it, one of the national symbols of the Federal Republic of Shamsiyya. While it had been constructed for the SFDF-Air Force, a few components of it came from Saressidia, a result of the economic issues Shamsiyya had faced after the Eighth Intifada back in 1991, which the aircraft building sector had suffered from a lot, amongst other sectors.
Speaking of economic issues - this was what Shamsiyya was now keen on preventing, the SEA-Accords being an important step towards the furtherment of international trade. Isolationism would be a thing of the past.
At least, this was what President Arafat Ismaili hoped to achieve. The half-bald man with green eyes, 52 years of age, was on his way to lead Shamsiyya into a bright future, by economic cooperation, and also by mutual defense in case some of the signatory states' annoying neighbors started to run crazy. While the SFDF was quite substantial on its own, the map simply looked better with a few friendly nations on it.
The weather in Fortham was pleasant, at least to people from the same latitude. For a Shamsiyyan, especially one who just directly came from a flight from Adirnabul, it was a bit cold, yet still bearable.
Ismaili was accompanied by Shamsiyya's Special Ambassador, a young lady named Ceyda Nimatuliha Jagoda. That her second family name was Serbian (and meant 'raspberry') had a reason - her Dad was Lillorainian. This, aside from a certain political agenda, which had influenced Shamsiyya as well, was a good reason for Ceyda to be a fan of Princess Aurelia bint-Damir - they shared the same fate of being mixtures. For Ceyda, this meant, that both personalities spoke up in many moments where a decision was required, the questions ranging from everyday life things like, 'Am I allowed to have a Raki to the beer, or do I have to do that vice versa?', to essential ones like, 'If I'm Half-Shamsiyyan-Half-Lillo, and I date a guy who happens to be of the same mixture, who, Ishtar or Freyja, will be in charge?' - But the point bothering Ceyda a bit more was the fact, that her Dad wasn't particularly fond of Ceyda being with her Mom - and her half-sister Jale, an offspring of her Mom's second marriage. But Ceyda had a mind of her own, and out of the international missions she had taken part in so far, this had pretty much been her first one. Yeah, the challenges in life ...
Amongst the little Shamsiyyan group, the SFDF were represented as well, by General Amir Lamroubal. The man in his late forties was an old resistance fighter; the 8th Intifada had happened to occur when he had been barely an adult - and while he did love to brag about his achievements during the founding of the Federal Republic, he didn't talk about details too much. He was friendly and dutiful, no questions asked, but he also did love to keep his secrets - which was quite appreciated by the Almukhabarat, the Shamsiyyan intelligence agency.
In a cultural sense, Shamsiyya was represented by Yassir Ubayduliha. He was well known throughout the entire Federal Republic for his novels and cineastic adaptions thereof, the most famous one being A Nightmare On Kings Hill, written in 1999 and released as a movie in 2010, but also a series named Tamara (after its protagonist) and the movie adaption of an old novel named Letter to a Pharaoh did bring him a lot of fame - granted, this was rather limited to Shamsiyya, for his works were a bit 'too Shamsiyyan' to reach the international audience.
Similar to the Lillorainian Delegation - as would turn out later -, the Shamsiyyan one had a non-signatory company as well - Princess Miyako Tamori. Actually Tamori no Miyako, she was the daughter of Count Shintarou of Shiratsuyu, a fief in the south of Shikonjima - and the Shikonjimanese Ambassador to Shamsiyya. She would have the honor to observe the signing ceremony of the SEA-Accords by order of Her Majesty Princess Kyouko Yamura.
They gave Fortham an admiring look, too, as they went down the Main Street - the Selkie-style looked completely different from what they were used to. Rhiannon's Blessings were gladly accepted on their way.
They were a bit excited. Everyone was well aware, that not everyone viewed the SEA-Accords positively - the demonstrations in Riverwood were known about, of course, and there were quite a few in Junaira as well. But the Authorities of the Free Lands had everything well under control, at least they enjoyed the Shamsiyyans' good faith.
President Ismaili was not the first one to sign - he followed his Lillorainian colleague, Silas Flemming, only six years younger than him. At the round table, Ismaili checked where his autograph was supposed to be, then signed - both in Latin and Shamsiyyan writing, just to make sure.

Fortham, 15th of October, 2019.

For the non-signatory delegations, things had been a bit different.
Tthey had arrived the day before, had been welcomed in a similar manner as the signatory delegations were today, although on a much smaller manner.
During this time, William Raven, First Secretary of the Imperial Cabinet of the Empire of the Scarlet Eagle, and Harris Brecken, Foreign Minister of the Queendom of Global Harran, had got to know Felicia Sciotog, the head of the Foreign Office of the Free Lands. And both men had taken a liking to their fellow politician.

And so, on this sunny day, both of them are sitting in the stands reserved for non-signatories nations, along with three other people: William's assistant Tatiana Gutierrez, Captain Corey Herzog of the Investigation and Intervention Brigade of the Blachkov DC Metropolitan Police Department, and his wife Christina Herzog, a stylist.
William, as usual, is wearing his trademark black business suit with a red necktie. His assistant Miss Gutierrez is also wearing a black business suit, with a knee length black skirt.
Captain Corey Herzog, for his part, is wearing the Dress Uniform of the Blachkov DC Police Department, a black uniform with a peaked cap bearing white laurels, and the Department's coat of arms on the front. On the belt of his vest, a sheath containing his ceremonial dagger on the left side, and on the right, a Colt M1911 pistol in a holster. According to the Free Land's regulations, the gun is unloaded.
His wife Christina is wearing a simple but elegant dress, colored greyish-blue, and a small jacket on top to cover her shoulders and arms. On her arms, the pair of vembraces she had bought with her husband when they were in Launceston just a few weeks ago for a festival.
And finally, Brecken is wearing a grey tuxedo, with matching shoes, a white shirt and a blue bowtie.
A thing to note, however, is that somewhere ont their persons, each one of them is concealing a knife for defense purposes.

"Well, for a first time as a witness, this is not so bad, says Harris with a small smile as he strokes his chin.
-Yeah, replies Corey, although there is some nervousness in the air that you can clearly feel, Your Excellency. For me, it's not different at al than when I go to a court session regarding a case I helped solve.
-I see what you mean Captain, answers Raven as he takes a sip from the glass of water at his disposal.
-Anyway, since we do not have to sign those accords, the tension is not the same on our shoulders, interrupts Tatiana with a neutral voice. I wonder how long they will last though before something starts going wrong.
-We shall see in due time Tatiana, don't be so pessimistic, replies Raven with a small chuckle, before turning to Prince Okan sitting beside him. So, Prince, if I may ask, have you ever been to events like these?" asks the Vice-Emperor

Clearly this was a big step on the right direction as it meant to expand the horizons of Mervay's Economy and to strenght ties with the rest of the SEA Accords Nations, it allowed for something big, standards were set and those were supported and approved by the goverment entirely to allow Mervay to sign such treaty. Simple as that. Albeit opposition was met for such treaty, mostly from commies and isolationists which believed in keeping foreign influence out of Mervayan Soil, of course, they were wrong, but they were mostly skecpticals which believed this was a lie or something it wouldn't work, from the isolationists mostly since The People's Republic Party (Communists) believed it was a lie and called for thankfully, peaceful protests on opposition to the treaty on all important cities all over the nation. Gladly at least like 1.000.000 were present, not a big number in Mervay's politics... Maybe a bit big in nations like San Salvacion and North Point, which their populations were around 50.000.000 to 70.000.000 at max. Still, at least all over the continent of Europa there were massive protests against it, the population was mostly in favor but there were some citzens against it still. Can't blame them.

However as that happened, the goverment heads were here and about to sign an important treaty which would change things for good. And so it was, with the SEA Accords about to be signed by Mervay, North Point and San Salvacion for now unless changes of last minute added an place like Yuktobania, which was at the mercy in influence of Rohan and as such, they wouldn't let it slide if they signed such Accord. But let's focus on Fortham and the people there and which planes were on them landing at Fortham Army Field.
The Mervayan White Angel an plane in all white, but easy to recognize thanks to Mervay's Royal Air Force Emblem. That A350 brought some of Mervay's Important Political and Economical Faces there.

Her Majesty of Mervay, clearly needing to be present for such historical event was without doubt needed her presence; Mervay's Prime Minister from the legislative goverment as his presence was needed to be on place for the entire goverment to sign, of course some economical heads were part of the delegation. People such as Athena Freezis, the young lady of 24 years was at control of one of Mervay's and Europa's most important families, such influence was only challenged by either the remaining Royal Families of such power as the Da Mervay's and Devienne's or The Dileva's, and obviously Edward Dileva, the head of the entire economical group rival to the Freezis family was present, but he wasn't alone... It was clear another political figure appeared alongside all of them, his wife. We could consider it a way to spend holidays after they are done since they couldn't enjoy at AHSCA and won't when they know of their daughter's wedding. Still their other ambitions were to show the actual Ambassador to the isles as the political successor of Vianna. It could work?? Maybe. But 2024 will say it all.

On part from San Salvacion and North Point?? Well neither of both heads of goverment or state could be present, sending in just some goverment officials which could make note that both nations joined the SEA as well.

It seemed they were greeted with honors as they were carriaged to Elder Castle all over the city they were recived as friends. The opposite to what they could be recived at Launceston. Well this area of the lake was safe and militarized to it's teeth with the amount of signataries, witnesses and observers, dear they were a lot.

Then in the center of that plaza in which the signing of the Accords would happen, there was a table, there all officials signed both signataries and witnesses when it was their turn. First The Selks, then the Lillos and now their turn, Mervayan's.

A bright future awaited all of them clearly and it was time to move foward. No turn back and they all knew it, all doubts were out and they knew this was the future, the bright future for Mervay.

Felicia Sciotóg of the Tribe of Monaghan.
Fortham, Signing Ceremony.

I had welcomed them all yesterday, the foreign observes, but today, until the aftershow party, I would simply not have enough time to talk with them. I was occupied, signing for the Free Lands together with Mona Beag.
The little girl, who had looked so shy and nervous when I got to know her, was maturing into a confident young woman - and, to be honest, into a beautiful one, too.
Anyway, today was the day of the signatories.
Lillorainen had started the merry roundalay, Flemming himself going for it. He had his birthday not too long ago, I would have to congratulate him in person later - the exact day on which one was born was of little importance to Selkie, but I knew, that it was abroad, including in Lillorainen. With him was the speaker of the Meritocratic Council, Annika Seelscheid, a charming woman, who knew her stuff.
His witnesses to the ceremony were an impressive assortment, Lengerich Electronics' CEO Severin Morgenthau (Mona had told me, that his daughter was quite a known figure, which she knew due to her friend Fiona, the heir to the Eascann Brewery), Gesine Stuhrscheid, who was a famous actress, Svea Herning being currently being dubbed into Selkie (the title character being spoken by none other then Gwen Cróimiam of the Tribe of Cork, Tyran's daughter), and finally Hilda Margrethe Colonia Leverdal, who was an accomplished horsewoman in her own right.
Having taken to plane-sharing with them had been the Ambassadors of Wiedheim and the United Confederacy, Sophus Ingram and Leilani Paia, the Ambassadors of these places to Lillorainen, as we didn't have embassies with these nations in Fortham. They were in the stands, together with the Ambassador of Teressien and other foreign observers.
I had also looked forward to seeing the Asad Alhawa, the dark green plane with the white sabre had an aesthetic one could hardly replicate, much like the Mervayan White Angel. I knew, that images of the lot of government planes parked on the airfield, in addition of the planes of the Flight Readiness and the usual complement of the Army Air Field, were made and already entering circulation.
Anyway, signing for Shamsiyya after the Lillos was President Arafat Ismaili, a half-bald man, who had just entered his fifties, with Ceyda Nimatuliha Jagoda, the Special Ambassador of Shamsiyya. I knew, that she and Princess Aurelia would be talking shop, mainly because they shared a lot of opinions.
As witnesses, the old resistance fighter General Amir Lamroubal was present, him and Uncle Ferris would be likely talking shop of their own soon, as well as the novelist Yassir Ubayduliha, although I would have to admit, that I didn't read any of his books... something to change in the future.
Plane-pooling with them had been Tamori no Miyako, the Princess of the Count Shintarou of Shiratsuyu, a fiefdom in Shikonjima. Marla had met Her Majesty, Princess Kyouko Yamura of Shikonjima during a ball in Teressien, and brought home a positive opinion of the woman, which was promising. She was also the Shikonjimanese Ambassador to Shamsiyya.
Ismaili signed both in his own script and in Latin letters, safety first.
The Queen of Mervay was here, as were her Prime Minister - I knew, that in her own country, protests were taking place, but things were decided already. And I knew of the precarious situation on Europa, where Yuktobania was kept from signing by Rohan... but North Point and San Salvacion were aboard, together with Mervay.
Her witness party included Athena Freezis, a young woman in charge of a very important family despite her age, her eyes having a special aura, as well as Edward Dileva, head of the Dileva Group, including his wife, an accomplished woman in her own right - both of these economic groups would now have to contest on a larger market, where the competition was already waiting.
From our end, Silverport Dockyards and the entirety of the Banphrionsa-Family came to mind.
North Point and San Salvacion were represented by political figures of lesser import.
Once they had all signed, however, it was our turn.
Mona and I stepped forward, the young woman giving me the precedence. I signed in Selkie-Runes and Latin letters, much like the Shamshiyyans. Mona did the same.
That being done, the round started anew with the witnesses.
Nia Sneachtúil, the Master of Ceremonies, indicated for the Witness Parties to go ahead - and promised the reward at the Aftershow Party.
It caused chuckles in our rows.

Prince Okan ibn-Dardan.
In the stands.

Next to us, we had the Delegation of the Empire of the Scarlet Eagle sitting, with a police officer, his wife, Anaximander's First Secretary and his secretary. I was severely underimpressed by Anaximander, he and I got along, but we would not be friends.
We were too different.
As it was, they observed and commented, too. Of course, people were nervous around here and that would not abate until the drinking started later tonight...
Aurelia was observing with her eyes hard and her expression neutral, thinking about great many things as I knew - she was a Half-Selkie, after all, and things were not easy as it sounded because she was a Kyrenaian Princess, not a Half-Kyrenaian Princess.
Raven turned to me. "So, Prince, if I may ask, have you ever been to events like these?"
I let a beat pass, glancing at him. "Signing of international treaties or founding of international treaty-bound organizations?", I asked for clarification, "If the latter, no, this is my first time. If the former..." I smiled slightly. "Kyrenaia and its Sultana often served and still serves as the guaranteeing power and mediator of international treaties settling conflicts around these parts. The Utica Peace Accords of 1983 come to mind. I have witnessed my fair share of ceremonial treaty-signings, even worked on some of them myself."
I did not mean to boast, but... well.

The Utica Peace Accords of 1983 come to mind. I have witnessed my fair share of ceremonial treaty-signings, even worked on some of them myself."
I did not mean to boast, but... well.

As soon as the treaty also carried the signatures of the representatives of Shamsiyya, Mervay, North Point, San Salvacion, as well as - of course - the Free Lands, it was time for the witnesses to sign.
The Selkie had signed in both Latin letters and Selkie-Runes, just like the Shamsiyyans had signed in two scripts, playing it safe. Since Lillorainen used the Latin alphabet, that point was moot for them - signing in Younger Futhark was rather only usual amongst religious personages, hardcore-traditionalists, and students who wanted to practice their Runic writing or did it just for fun.
While Annika Seelscheid, Severin Morgenthau, Gesine Stuhrscheid, and Hilda Leverdal signed - in that particular order -, the Ambassadors Sophus Ingram and Leilani Paia kept watching - after all, this was their job in here. Observing.
Nonetheless, they did have a few quick looks into their own round - quite a couple of countries were represented in the stands as well. Kyrenaia, Teressien, Lutetii, the Empire of the Scarlet Eagle, Shikonjima, and others.
Not only Ingram and Paia, but also the Lillorainian delegation were aware of the protests in Mervay and Shamsiyya, and, of course, the demonstrations in Riverwood, at the other side of the Lake Mór - everyone was surprised, that there was much resistance in Lillorainen to speak of. Most certainly because they rather saw the benefits of the Accords, especially for their own wallets.
As the four Lillorainian witnesses finished, they made space for the next ones.

Similar to her colleagues from Wiedheim and the U.C., Princess Miyako checked the round of personages for some she knew - hardly surprising, that she found quite a few familiar faces -, while also keeping an eye onto the signing ceremony, especially when it was the Shamsiyyan Delegation's turn, following the Lillorainian one at once.
The young Special Ambassador, Ceyda Nimatuliha Jagoda, made the start - possibly because she had the longest name, as the Shikonjimanese Princess thought jokingly -, then General Amir Lamroubal followed, then finally Yassir Ubayduliha.
What surprised everyone of the Delegation of the Federal Republic, was that not only the annoying neighbors were missing, but also quite a few more friendly states in the area. Only Princess Miyako knew, that Atakheer Khan of the Sharulsi Khanate hadn't had the possibility to send a representative. What he had sent, though, were his best wishes. Same went for the governments of Kashira, Chaamerland, Saressidia, and Democratic Semporna.
Just like the Lillorainian Delegation previously, the Shamsiyyans instantly made way for the next ones, as soon as they had finished.
Soon, the party would begin.

Last to sign were, again, the witnesses of the Free Lands.
First to sign was Fiona Banphrionsa of the Tribe of Cavan, the brunette heir of Gabha Blacksmiths Limited signed for the Merchant Guild of Leuda and the economy of the Free Lands, wearing Geansai in Cavan's Green and Red. Her mother had fallen ill on short notice and as Fiona was a major player within Gabha, she had been selected as a replacement by the Guild. Considering that SDY's own Nora Cathlong had her own issues at the moment, it might have been the wisest choice.
Next was Professor Celina Ollamh of the Tribe of Monaghan of the University of Leuda. She was specialized in Old Selkie History, her attire being the Geansai. Her double belt was slung around her hips, her grin was wide - how many professors of history could say, that they not only wrote about history, but actually made it?!
Then came General Ferris Taoiseach of the Tribe of Antrim, the head of the SDF, its supreme commander, in the blue Blue Dress of the Army. His eyepatch covered his left eye, giving him a fierce look. He openly wore his sabre, a Kyrenaian Type 3, the only decoration he wore with joy, mainly because of the story behind it.
After him came Tyran Cróimiam of the Tribe of Cork, the middle-aged blue haired man wearing Geansai, not armour. It had been discussed whether or not he would appear in Ceremonial Garb or in Geansai, choosing the latter in the end because there were enough uniforms already. That, and the armour would have made it necessary to carry a sword. While the SEA-Accords were also defensive in nature, Tyran was a peaceful man, despite being a Master of the Sword.
Last was Branwen Chwilfrydig, the most likely most controversial witness. She was the leader of the Spiorad Ainmhithe, people, who usually tried to stay away from politics as much as they could. It didn't always work, but that was another issue. She signed with her fox ears raised, her tail groomed.
As she stepped back, silence descended.
And then, Nia stepped forward as the Master of Ceremonies and addressed the crowds, speaking English, her melodic cadence coming out, making the speech more like a song:
"I walk on this world for a long while now. In those many years, I have never witnessed people, which are so different then those assembled here today, come together in peace to work with each other for a better world - even if it is only in a small part of the world. You can be proud of what you achieved today, gafachi."
This caused a round of giggles as Nia just called quite a lot of people with large names and high standings kittens, as the Spiorad usually referred to those younger then them, a term of affection, not of ridicule.
"It will be a heritage, that your children and their children, and all the generations coming after them, will be proud of. It does not matter, which course the Gods have in mind in the future, they will be proud of it - for this shows the best we can achieve. May the Gods smile upon the lands, who's representatives came here today."
Applause came up and with that, the signing ceremony was concluding. Said representatives were invited for a small rounds of drinks after the conclusion, with a delay of an hour to freshen up.

One hour later...
The inner courtyard of Elder Castle, at the foot of the donjon, which housed the Head of State of the Free Lands, the Elder Council, was large enough.
Opposite to the gatehouse, the entrance led into the donjon and at several points, stairs went up onto the walls. A long time ago, this indeed had been a defensive structure and the only halfway neutral ground in what would become the Free Lands, which had led to it being chosen for the seat of the Elder Council.
To the left, the stables were empty.
To the right, the offices of the Foreign Office were closed.
In front of the latter, tables held the nibbles from all over SEA, to be tasted as a sort-of culinary thought-fodder.
Inbetween, people mingled, both witnesses and other notabilities of the Free Lands and abroad, from all over SEA and beyond - every one of the guests and signatories was invited. In a corner, Kaylee Paisúile of the Tribe of Galway strummed her guitar for soft dances for those interested, the quicker pieces being bust out later.
All in all, it was the aftershow party - it was time to socialize!
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.
My people are called the Selkie, the nation is usually called the Free Lands in MT-settings. Thanks.

The witnesses of the Free Lands were the last ones to sign; Fiona Banphrionsa as a representative of the MGoL and business of the Free Lands, then Professor Ollamh, the history professor visibly enjoying herself not only writing about history, but also making it, then General Ferris Taoiseach, the SDF's supreme commander with the eyepatch and the Kyrenaian sabre, and last, but not least Branwen Chwilfrydig, leader of the Spiorad Ainmhithe - who usually stayed out of politics, but exceptions confirm the rule.
A short speech by the Master of Ceremonies followed, in the melodic sing-song Selkie-accent was known for, addressing everyone as gafachi, kittens, a term of affection the Spiorad used for everyone who was younger than them - so pretty much everyone. At the end of her speech, applause came up, and with that, the signing ceremony came to an end.

One hour later.
The inner courtyard of Elder Castle received quite a few admiring looks - one could duess from the donjon and the stairs going up to the wall, that this had indeed been a defensive structure a long time ago, in a time before the Free Lands, as they were known as today, had evolved, and the Lands of the Selkie had barely been more than a loose confederation of city-states. Multiple structures in the Lillöer-Archipelago were known to have a similar history as a defensive structure and neutral ground at the same time - including, but not limited to, Bellerup Castle in (today) Lysköping, the Fortress of Bersenich near Sandscheid, the ring fortress in Preetz, the Katlenburg in Breden/Marrania, the donjon in Quantenburg - and, most prominently, the Lokahallir, the Halls of Loki, in Lollerup, Visholm. The Halls' Guards, Lokahallavorthir, had been known to have a particularly responsible job, as the halls hadn't only been an important neutral ground, but also probably the only place of worship dedicated to Loki, the Trickster-God, in the entire world (a particularity caused by Loki's rather controversial character).
The stables were empty; the offices of the Foreign Office were closed.
The representatives of the Federation gathered around the table in front of the latter, offering nibbles from all SEA-countries. Annika Seelscheid threw a skeptical glance at the filled, steamed buns with little Shamsiyyan flags sticking into them, similar to the common practice to put flags of the countries of the world onto snacks during Football World Cups. She quickly thought about whether her stomach would be able to bear the surely spicy stuff these were filled with, but then shrugged and took one.
Of course, Hilda Leverdal had recognized Tyran Cróimian of the Tribe of Cork at once, even though she was a bit surprised to see him in Geansai instead of armor. They would surely find the occasion to have a chat soon.
Sophus Ingram and Leilani Paia stood a bit beside; the Wiedheimer Ambassador smoked a pipe, while the Moana Nui Islander had gotten herself a few snacks. They had some small talk, both speaking German. They obviously had a lot of experiences to share.

The hour of delay since the ending of the official signing ceremony was used for freshening up - and, of course, for being fascinated by the architecture of their surroundings, including the one of the Elder Castle, which had served for defense purposes for centuries before the Lands of the Selkie had become the Free Lands. Its size was, of course, nowhere near the one of the Palace of the Republic, but it did have a charme one could easily notice, especially when one was used to huge, sophisticated complexes mostly consisting of sandstone.
Yassir Ubayduliha had to grin at General Lamroubal, guessing his thoughts - this place was full of people he could share his Intifada stories with, for most of them hadn't heard about them, at least not from him. But like many others in here, he was rather keen on getting himself something to eat. Both Ubayduliha and Lamroubal threw an amused glance at Miss Seelscheid, now guessing her thoughts. Yeah, Shamsiyyans were into spicy food.
Likewise, for Princess Miyako Tamori, who was used to both Shikonjimanese and Shamsiyyan cuisine, the Lillorainian blood sausage nibbles looked ... interesting, to say the very least.
Ceyda, who had lived in Lillorainen for the better part of her life, grinned at her. "Flönz" - she told her what this was called in Rhenish.
Miyako nodded. "I've never seen this before ..." - she said, in Shamsiyyan, and tried one. "I'll have to get used to it, but it takes better than it looks! Maybe with some rice to it ..."
Ceyda smiled and shook her head. "They add mashed potatoes mixed with applesauce to it."
Miyako smiled back. "Must be an interesting place to be in. Or to hail from, for that matter."
Ceyda nodded. "It is, lemme tell ya'!"

Lillorainen wrote:As soon as the treaty also carried the signatures of the representatives of Shamsiyya, Mervay, North Point, San Salvacion, as well as - of course - the Free Lands, it was time for the witnesses to sign.

Shamsiyya wrote:Similar to her colleagues from Wiedheim and the U.C., Princess Miyako checked the round of personages for some she knew - hardly surprising, that she found quite a few familiar faces -, while also keeping an eye onto the signing ceremony, especially when it was the Shamsiyyan Delegation's turn, following the Lillorainian one at once.

On middle of the Lillo's and Shamsiyya's Witnesses and Selks' Witnesses. There were the Mervayan Witnesses, The Dileva's were the first to sign in as Mervayan Witnesses, clearly they had the political power and economical one, they were ready to push for their companies to operate on all SEA Nations and beyond of Europa and Bolgiano. On one hand Edward was preparing all of the economic group for such task, on the other hand, Jessica was getting ready to battle for The Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Perhaps it should be mentioned earlier but there was an referendum regarding Mervay's integration to the SEA as a Founding Member in which the results were 61% in favor of joining and 39% against it; clearly it has been an resounding victory, but even with 39% being less than the 61% it was a lot of people against joining The SEA, Vianna's Cabinet was mostly in favor of The SEA, excepting the actual Minister of Foreign Affairs, Avril Blackburn, Blackburn was exceptical and understood that this alliance could be problematic at the long run, mainly on their already tense relationship with Rohan, which even if it wasn't an priority, they had quite the power to make an mess on Bolgiano and begin another Cold War. And so it has been announced by Blackburn herself she will be resigning from her position as Minister of Foreign Affairs and chances were that one of the candidates would be Ma'am Dileva. Clearly they had their priorities set.

Meanwhile Athena wasn't behind and was having her cards right to push too and she was pushing foward. Her confidence could be seen on those eyes, which were mystic from the tone of it and clearly could convince alongside her aura. She was someone to take into account for the future. The Freezis Family on itself was, she was just represeting her family as her head of it, but they had quite the influence on Mervay too. So this was going to be interesting.

Then the Selks's Witnesses signed The Accords and such one by one did. Fiona Banphrionsa being the first to, the heir of Gabha Blacksmiths Limited, she was surely alongside her family be the main competition here on The Free Lands for all Mervayan Companies on all fields. Then Celina Ollamh, Professor of History on The University of Leuda, it seemed she liked making history too, can't blame her. Then General and head of the SDF, General Taoiseach. Then Tyran Cróimiam and lastly... Branwen Chwilfrydig... The leader of the Spiorad Anmhithe... Now that was controversial. And would give a lot to talk.

Then The Master of Ceremonies spoke, giving a good speech albeit with the Gafachi it seemed she talked to... Well everyone younger than the Spiorad Anmhithe's. Which was almost all presents.

Then as soon as it ended the speech, everyone applauded and so the ceremony was done. Now the party was coming.

Insert Spongebob Joke of... One Hour Later

The Dileva's dancing abit together as they enjoyed the party, such lovely couple of course, twenty one years together and surely beyond that. As they enjoy they surely will find familiar faces here on today.
Ma'am Freezis was resting and sighing as she watched the couple being wholesome again, feeling glad of seeing them strong. She was resting on a table as she watched her surrundings, looking to make a conversation with someone.

Her Majesty of course was looking around and doing the same as Athena, albeit more relaxed... Perhaps that travel to the UIS did wonders on her to rest, finally able to rest and enjoy a bit before going back to politics.
Vianna on the other hand... Well he was thinking clearly on someone to replace Blackburn at The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, difficult indeed since he has to show the candidates to Parlament and Her Majesty herself the day after their return to Mervay... Yeah he is gonna be busy.

I did not mean to boast, but... well.

"I see, replies William as he looks again at the proceedings. I remember when we introduced Global Harran into the Scarlet Dominion alliance, I was one of the people who worked very hard to convince our Vorkutoans friends to give them a chance. At least this goes more smoothly than a few weeks ago during the Sultan's coronation I was attending. I'll never get what happened there, just that everything went FUBAR without any warning and we had to make an exit. I'm still wondering how Tatiana and I got out unscathed. Were you ever in the same situation?"

Later, at the party...
The Scarlet Americans are talking among themselves, Corey and Christina talking with Harris about a possible fashion event later in Old Harran, while William and Tatiana are on their own, waiting to see Aurelia if Princess Aurelia would be free for talking...

Lillorainen wrote:The witnesses of the Free Lands were the last ones to sign; Fiona Banphrionsa as a representative of the MGoL and business of the Free Lands, then Professor Ollamh, the history professor visibly enjoying herself not only writing about history, but also making it, then General Ferris Taoiseach, the SDF's supreme commander with the eyepatch and the Kyrenaian sabre, and last, but not least Branwen Chwilfrydig, leader of the Spiorad Ainmhithe - who usually stayed out of politics, but exceptions confirm the rule.

The Scarlet Eagle wrote:"I see, replies William as he looks again at the proceedings.

Felicia Sciotóg of the Tribe of Monaghan.
Fortham, Aftershow Party.

A tremendous weight had been lifted off of my shoulders.
We had gone through the entire ceremony without a hitch, with all having signed at the correct spot, without any terrorist attacks or fights or whatever - indeed, news from Riverwood even said, that while the protests were larger then anticipated, they were peaceful.
And the Younger Militia Detachments, which had greeted the delegates, had returned to their camps outside of the city in peace as well. It was, apparently, like one gigantic festival out there. No one knew, if they were celebrating the SEA-Accords or a job well done, fact was, that they were celebrating and no one wanted anything more then that.
Now, we had a small party of our own, mostly to be used for networking. And appropriately many large names were here for that, too.
I spotted Duncan Iarnród, of Ironcastle Ironworks, Yvain Saighead of SDY with his daughter, several people from the MGoL, Fiona Banphrionsa of Gabha Blacksmiths, Raidri Drochnós, a timber magnate, Ceridwen Báigh, an industrialist from the Northern Islands, Nolwenn Gluaisrothar, the heir to Gabha Motorworks, Mister Scáineadh of the Eascann Brewery, Mister Cuach of Cairéal Mining and, of course, Finnegan Drisiúr of Bicíní Industries. The top dogs of economic activity within the Free Lands were here.
And then, there was a number of notabilities, from culturally important people over Ambassadors and diplomats to religious persons. Mona Beag was still here, the fifteen year old redhead looking quite uncomfortable in her skin, unused to being at diplomatic occasions - but now, that she was a grown woman and Envoy of Lodan Lir, even married to Him, she would have to get used to it.
And that didn't even mention the foreign dignitaries!
Speaking of which... I had an appointment with the Queen of Mervay. Approaching her, I greeted her in the manner typical to my people: Hand over my heart, I bowed my head.
"Greetings, again, Your Majesty.", I said and raised my head, smiling slightly, "I am glad, that we managed everything without a hitch - one of the lads reported to me a minute ago, that one of the carriage's axles broke a few minutes after arrival here, so we were incredibly lucky!" I let a beat pass. "But anyway... how did you find the ceremony Milady Nia organized?"

Ida Feic of the Tribe of Antrim.
Approaching Miss Freezis was surprisingly easy: Just go over to her, wipe a strand of red hair behind the ear, bow my head and then speak: "Madame Freezis, to introduce myself, I am Ida Feic of the Tribe of Antrim. I am here on behalf of the Merchant Guild of Leuda." Now, the MGoL was quite interested in deepening its relations with the Freezis-Group, and thus Mervay, but the same was true for the Dileva-Group, with whom I would talk later. For now, however, it was time for small talk. "It's a great honour to meet you."

Leonard Lách of the Tribe of Galway.
By the nibbles.

While I personally found sticking the little flags into the different nibbles to be a bit of a tacky practice, I found it quite balanced out by the selection of cheese nibbles.
Even if I had to fight with Kendra's stern looks making me not go for a nibble more times then not, and with my girlfriend Alaina almost urging me to go for it at any given opportunity.
I surely was more susceptible to the latter.
That did not stop us from looking around, though: Annika Seelscheid stood nearby.
I knew her from hear-say, but that would not stop us from doing our job, right, Kendra? She had spotted the woman, too, looked to Alaina.
"Don't worry, he won't get a tummy-ache.", she assured my colleague, which caused me to look at her with shock, which was quickly amended by a peck on my lips.
Kendra nodded, then was off greeting the Speaker of the Meritocratic Council.
I smiled at Alaina. "I promised Kendra.", she told me, which made me slump my shoulders.

Tyran Cróimian of the Tribe of Cork.
After a quick exchange with my daughters, and a quick hug, they threw me into the meat grinder that was this party - but let's see, who would laugh last!
For I knew more then someone here. I knew quite a lot of people here, actually, but that was besides the point. Who held my interest right now was Hilda Leverdal, which I told her by: "Miss Leverdal - it's good to see you again!", I said, opened my arms for a hug, "Come 'ere, searrach!"
We had met in Cuan and I would say, that we were friends - even if only due to our shared passion for equines. I liked the younger woman, not sexually (although she did look good, so please don't get me wrong), but as a part of the gigantic family that were the Marcach.
She was a part of it, if she wanted it or not!

General Ferris Taoiseach of the Tribe of Antrim.
Ah, it was ideal weather!
The signing ceremony was concluded, everything that had to be said, had been said, now came the part, where small talk and sharing war stories began.
And, laddie, lemme tell ya, that a few people here could tell war stories!
There was, of course, also General Amir Lamroubal, with whom I wanted to speak - and talk shop. Especially about young recruits and their need to be brought into shape. Even for us Selkie, who we prided ourselves with an active lifestyle, needed to do that, yes.
Anyway, they were by the nibbles-table, the General and Yassir Ubayduliha, a young movie-maker and not a bad one at that! Another person I wanted to meet, because that would make my wife jealous...
"Good afternoon, ladies, gentlemen. Please, don't let me disturb you!", I greeted with a small bow and took a piece of Flönz, popped it into my mouth. It not only looked interesting, it tasted interesting, too.
Now, the ball was in their court - including the decision whether or not they wanted to accept the ball.

Prince Okan ibn-Dardan.
I had replied, back in the stands, to Raven, that I had little experience with traveling to gatherings abroad and especially not to those, that went that amount of wrong, but then, the ceremony continued.
But now, we (that means Aurelia and I) had spoken to Ol' Lynn, a.k.a. Lynn Aosta of the Tribe of Louth, the Elder of the Tribe Aurelia had belonged to before she had gone to Kyrenaia. It was complicated, but that was another story. It had been a short conversation, during which Aurelia had been mostly interested in the condition of her Uncle Donald Crionna, who was still ailing from a wound he had received during a gathering abroad going south.
Oh, the irony...
But now, we were free.
Aurelia looked to me: "Let's see, how Anax's doing, okay?", she asked in Kyrenaian, I nodded.
She, due to some unfathomable reason, was friends with the Emperor of the Empire of the Scarlet Eagle and although their relationship had hit a few snags as of late, she was still not wishing evil upon him.
So, we approached Raven.
"Mister Raven, how good to see you again!", she greeted, bowing her head lightly in a respectful manner, unaware of them having wanted to speak with her, "How do you do?"
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.
My people are called the Selkie, the nation is usually called the Free Lands in MT-settings. Thanks.

She was a part of it, if she wanted it or not!

While noticing, that the nibble she was trying was indeed spicy, yet delicious, Annika Seelscheid overheard multiple conversations - while she didn't understand a lot, she did get Ceyda's explanation to Miyako as to what Flönz was, leaving her amused, as one could guess from the Shikonjimanese Princess's facial expression, that this was entirely new to her. After all, this was blood sausage - which probably wasn't much of a thing in their home countries.
She also overheard the conversation between Leonard Lách, his girlfriend, and Kendra, also having to judge by their expressions, as her level of comprehension of Selkie-Language was comparable to her Shamsiyyan - she knew some basic vocabulary, but that was about it.
Kendra left her little group to greet Miss Seelscheid. The Speaker of the Meritocratic Council quickly grabbed a cheese nibble, then indicated a slight bow of her head towards Kendra Sciamhach of the Tribe of Waterford, the professional diplomat known for wearing glasses - as a fashion accessoir, not because of her vision.
She was aware, that the Selkie weren't handshake-people.
"Good day, Miss Sciamhach!" - she said. "A pleasure to meet you! How's it goin'?"

Hilda did also recognize Leonard Lách and Alaina, whom she had met in Cuan as well, she noticed, that Tyran had recognized her, too, now approaching her, opening his arms for a hug.
Of course, Hilda hugged him back - indeed, they could safely be considered friends, maybe not with many more shared passions other than equines, but being parts of the huge Marcach Family. Hilda's (honorary) family tended to grow larger and larger; her recent trip to Ulaanels brought her into her other mounted family, the Mangudai - the Marcach's counterpart from the Sharulsi Khanate. Hilda wasn't sure, if Tyran knew about this, but it wasn't unlikely, for messages like these tended to make their way into other parts of the world fairly quickly.
"Nice, to see you again, too, allerkæreste!" - she said. The latter term was a Danish term of endearment meaning along the lines of 'dearest', appropriate for all people regardless of gender, age, shape, form, or color, and Tyran was likely to already have heard this address from her. "It's already a while ago, eh? How have you been doing?"

"Greetings Princess Aurelia, says William as he bows his head as well, a bit deeper than Aurelia. It's good to see you again as well. I'm doing fine, and so is Tatiana and the rest of our group, he adds as he points to Corey, Kristina and Harris talking among themselves.
In any case, how are you yourself? continues the First Secretary. You seemed pretty concerned during the ceremony, I hope you got better?" he asks with a concerned smile.

Now, the ball was in their court - including the decision whether or not they wanted to accept the ball.

Still confused and fascinated by Ceyda's short explanation on Lillorainian cuisine, Miyako continued to have a few cheese nibbles, a terrain which was a bit less unknown to her. Ceyda tried a few other snacks from other countries she was a bit less familiar with. This continued, until a man in his late sixties with an eyepatch, well-known to them, approached the Shamsiyyan group that had assembled around the nibbles.
Of course, not only the ladies noticed General Taoiseach of the Tribe of Antrim - the gentlemen he was likely to wish to have some shoptalking with turned to him as well, as the greeted them.
And they accepted the ball.
The old resistance fighter (who was around twenty years younger than Taoiseach, ironically) resisted the urge to salute and bowed his head lightly instead, too. "Good day, General" - he said. "You aren't disturbing, don't worry! It's a pleasure to meet you!"
Yassir Ubayduliha nodded. "Indeed, sir, you're absolutely not disturbing." He indicated a slight bow, too. As did Ceyda and Miyako, the latter with the notorious, perfect angle appropriate in her home country - the force of habit, one might say.
