This new year, like many before, stretches ahead with promise and, I’m sure, lots of good days ahead. But it has begun a bit on the bumpy side. Holiday travel stirred up more than the usual aches and pains, some other lingering health problems are still, well, problems, and news about a a friend’s death and another’s stroke have already brought more than a little reality back to the holiday season’s rosier glow.

This week, besides starting on new writing projects and getting back to routine exercise and rest, I’ll be prepping for doctor visits, praying mightily for my stroke-besieged friend, and attending a funeral.

At first, it might seem as if 217 is starting off horribly. Or, at least, not in the way you would expect a brand new, tarnish-free year to begin. But I’ve lived with the ups and downs of chronic illness and pain for awhile and recognize the ebbs and flows. Just because the new year is beginning with a few bumps doesn’t mean that I have to resign myself to a terrible 12 months. Life is, pardon the cliche, life – and with faith, there is the understanding that no matter what it brings, God will comfort, hold, and inspire Happy 217 Korea!

The Atokian Navy commissioned AES Commander Aron Otha Lawrence on January 2014. This is the first ship of this class, with three more ships in her class. All the four ships are arranged with vertical launched BT193 Mk4B ‘Thunderbird’ Anti-Ship Missile as the fundamental strike weapon.

Petra class destroyers are suited with Excalibur Defense's AESN MM/SPS-768 radar, 8 × BT193 Mk4B VL SSMs and 1 × BT900 SAM, 1 × AIC-Horen Mk X 127mm and 3 × AIC-Horen V 76/62 mm Super Rapido gun. The BT193 Mk4B ‘Thunderbird’ has the advantages of stealth and facilitates the launching of the missile vertically in any course.

Last week's successful space mission opens wider horizon for SNASA

As of Saturday, the situation in the SNASA's headquarters that overlooks much of the capital from the Asam Hills stayed as calm as usual. There is no trace of the bumbling celebration from the success of Project Bayu-7, named after the Hindu god of air, that oversaw the country's first landing mission on Mars last week. Scientists, astronomers, and various staffs employed by the national space agency keep on working silently, analizing the various datas gathered from the last mission's robots that are now exploring the surface of the red planet.

Dr. Maryam Zakaria, a leading astronomer in the government's facility at Asam Hills admitted that the success has elevated the agency's confidence to a level never seen since the dissolution of the International Space Agency. For now, she said, the potentials of further exploration on Mars - and in the rest of the Milky Way - are so wide and open.
"There have been so much excitement among our colleagues in SNASA on future explorations - to answer humanity's curiosity about our own universe. What are exactly things in our universe, and of course, the question if there is any semblance of intelligent life outside of earth - beside whatever it is that is now being held in Area 51." She joked, making a reference to the viral meme in the Internet.

"The datas that we have been gathered from our robots on Mars provide us with so much informations about the characteristics of the surface of the planet such as about its past and geology. However, there are so many mysteries and secrets remain hidden below the rocks and we intend to look for them."

The astronomer shaked her head after being asked if SNASA is going to reveal their findings soon.

"The robots - Kelabu and Titan - are still collecting the datas they managed to find during their journey on the planet. The datas are raw - and our people in SNASA are still in the process of collecting and analyzing the datas that we received everyday. This is a long way ahead, and I doubt if it's going to be finished by the end of this year given the size and condition of the planet."

"However, we can ensure you that once we have booked the datas, they are going to be shared with Samudera Darussalam and the world."

Samudera Darussalam is one of the most technologically advanced countries in Melayu Archipelago next to Libonesia, and it also has one of the largest space programs in the region.
The country's space program started in the 90's in the middle of the Cold War, and owing to the neutral status the country held eversince the start of the First World War, it managed to thrive undisturbed.

The success of Project Bayu-7 has prompted the space agency to seek cooperation with the various existing space agencies in the region.

"We are looking for greater cooperation between the countries of Melayu Archipelago in our space research, because we believe that in the long run, this is going to be beneficial for the region."

When asked if SNASA has any new plan after the exploration of Mars, Dr. Zakaria smiled.
"It depends on the board. There are many possibilities and ideas. Space missions to Venus? Ceres? Or maybe going outside the galaxy? I don't believe that all of that are impossible if we try hard enough, but for now and maybe for the near future, Mars is going to be our foremost priority."

The new RUPS Indigo Ship is set to sail outside of Oceania on anti piracy operations in the Atlantic Ocean. The Indigo, a ship used for patrol, is a frigate that will be used to deter foreign and pirate entities from maliciously entering UPK waters. The Indigo Wil be the second in 23 Frigates Ordered, and will fall under the Central Kingdom Military Command. Lieutenant Commander Abdullah Mujeek said that it was his honor to be the Captain of the ship, and said that he will do his best to serve his nation.

The Stormfolks River - class Guided Missile Cruiser HNS Russell Welliberg (CG 79) and the Astonguard-class Destroyer HNS Claymerchant Bay (D 90) pulled into Innclaus September 10, while the Fisherworth-class Frigate HNS Fisherworth (FFG-1004), and Gabhdán-class Fast Combat Replenishment Ship, HNS Greenbooker (AOE 2902) pulled into Royalbird, Fallenstorm, September 9. While in port, SURFACE STRIKE GROUP THREE personnel will have the opportunity to go on tours and participate in several events with the local community prior to starting exercise Kingfisher Attack 2019. The Surface Strike Group is an operational formation of the Hundredstar Navy. It is composed of least one cruiser as flagship, a destroyer element of at least two destroyers and the frigates. A surface strike group also, on occasion, includes submarines, attached logistics ships, a hospital vessel, and a supply ship. Combined ammunition, oiler and supply ship provides logistic support enabling the Navy's forward presence; on the station, ready to respond.

It was learned that the armed forces of Atok signed a new contract to buy NACCO-made multipurpose fighters, NF91 Blazer. The NF91 most often flies air supremacy missions, but its most modern variants are able to perform almost all aerial warfare operations. The bulky NF91's airframe is constructed from advanced lightweight aluminum lithium alloys, making it weightless for its size. The wing is designed employing an ogival shape and wing root amplification. The wing has 42 degrees leading-edge sweep with full-span leading-edge slats and trailing edge flaperons. The flaperons amalgamate the functions of conventional flaps and ailerons and move in unison as flaps to contribute lift and drag. They move out of unison to function as ailerons. The engines of the NF91 are two Atok Aerospace AAE900-C turbofan engines designed by AAe Aeronautical Mechanical Lab (AAMAL). These engines are deemed greatly economical and are rated at 12500 kg static thrust in afterburner and at 7600 kg in military power. The AAE900-C engine has been proven to be trustworthy, formidable, and maintainable. When tested in severely disturbed airflow, and in intense conditions, the engine performed effectively.

ZERO SHADOW DAY COMES TO SORACANA


Peoples observing Zero Shadow Day

Gato Uyuri- In the past few days, peoples has been updating and sharing many things surrounding the increase heat that they feel. Sudagundi Ganapadmi, Head of Soracana Islands Geology and Climatology Council (SIGCC), said that the phenomenon is the side effect of zero shadow day that currently happening in Soracana Islands. This phenomenon happens when the Sun's declination becomes equal to the latitude of the place. And on zero shadow day, when the sun crosses the local meridian, the sun rays will fall exactly to the objects on the ground and the shadow of the object won't be able to observe.

This October is the second time in this year that the phenomenon occur. Last time, it was occurred in April. The phenomenon affected the temperature in Soracana Islands. Based on SIGCC report, the temperature in some places in Soracana Islands increase around 0.5^o to 1^oC to around 36^oC and 37^oC. The phenomenon will occur for about 2 weeks, starting at 5 October until 19 October 2019. The time of zero shadow day differ from each place. The western part of Soracana Islands will view the phenomenon earlier than their friends on the east. Minister of Health, Sudamila Aksagida, urge the peoples to stay safe during zero shadow day and continue to drink water to prevent from dehydration.
