Emperor Matthieu of Polonge, husband and Consort of the Empress of Polonge, stood outside of Saint Stephan’s Basilica alongside Archbishop Crayocar waiting for the motorcade that had been sent to receive the visiting Prince Jaron of Aradira, brother to the reigning King of Aradira from the private airport and take him to the grand cathedral in the center of the metropolis. Bledapestra, a city of nearing 100 million people had once been two separate rural villages centuries ago. Now it was a cluster of skyscrapers, monorails, green-roofs and glass domes. Yet the old sections of the city remained even in the extraordinarily dense city. The great palace on the hills on the Bleda side on the other side of the river still commanded attention even from the skyscrapers and luxury towers that flanked them. The equally great Basilica on the Pestra side of the river was also one of those beautifully preserved monuments to Polongain structure. Emperor Matthieu and Archbishop Crayocar has been given the duty to give a tour of the Basilica for the visiting prince.
