The International Pact of Sovereignty
Whereas in the course of human affairs history has shown that it may become necessary for nations to resolve their conflicts and to cooperate with other nations to preserve their sovereignty:
And Whereas in such event a respect for the opinions of mankind requires them to declare to other nations the causes which impel them to band together:
Now Therefore, We, The Government of the Chrysanthemum State, Do Hereby Declare:
That the nations of NationStates have exercised the powers of self-government and have been responsible for the progress, development and welfare of their people;
That said nations are tied to the regulations of the World Assemly, which has enforced edicts that are against many nations' principles or that are insensitive to their circumstances;
That since said nations must follow the World Assembly's edicts, edicts should protect national sovereignty, allowing nations to govern themselves as seen fit;
That, while recognising that issues such as international crime and climate change cannot be solved by one nation alone, mandatory enforcement of legislation not supported by the local population could lead to civil unrest and withdrawal from international initiatives;
That there are certain organisations (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=440516) that support their members' resolutions, which have been known to undercut national sovereignty;
That in the belief that procrastination and delay strike at and injure the sovereignty of nations, the Government of the Chrysanthemum State consider it essential that the Chrysanthemum State should take action;
Now Therefore, We The Government of the Chrysanthemum State, seeking to promote the common good so that the freedom of all nations may be assured, Do, By This Proclamation, adopt, enact and give to the people of these worlds and beyond the agreement annexed hereto.
THE INTERNATIONAL PACT OF SOVEREIGNTY
The Undersigned thereafter promote this agreement as a path to full sovereignty and are binded to its points:
1. Signatory nations shall not vote for World Assembly resolutions that undercut national sovereignty;
2. Signatory nations shall support World Assembly resolutions that expand or restore national sovereignty;
3. Any member of the world community can become a signatory, except members of WALL regions (Balder, Europe, Europeia, International Democratic Union, and The North Pacific);
4. Signatory Nations who do not hold to either of the above three statements shall be removed as Signatories. Such a Signatory may not be reinstated without making changes in their policy to comply, and the approval of the Chrysanthemum State;
5. Signatory nations may withdraw from this agreement by stating so underneath.
