Tonight, 9 songs and 9 artists performed in a fiercely competitive Izmepisma to determine who will become the Izmeduan representative for the 76th WorldVision Song Contest. For this edition, ten international juries voted in the national final, constituting the largest amount of international jury votes since Izmepisma's WV68 edition. Now, the votes have been tallied and we are proud to announce that the winner is...

Lea Sabolic - Breaking Free

Setting a record within the national final itself, Lea Sabolic won with a stunning 184 points (68 jury + 116 televote) and won with both constituencies. In what was an intensely competitive jury vote, Lea's "Breaking Free" maintained a consistent performance with a majority of the juries, securing points from all but 1 juror. Her lead in the jury vote was aided with six jurors putting her song in their top 3, with one set of 12, four sets of 10, and one set of 8. The televote itself was hotly contested, being a two-way deadlock between the two pre-contest favorites (Lea and Poslie Postojanje). In the end, Lea squeaked out the televote win, having received approximately 255,000 votes (amounting to 27% of the total Izmeduan televote) and with a 3,000 vote lead over the runners-up. Following the win, Lea immediately accepted the invitation to perform in WorldVision, and will enter intensive rehearsals for the upcoming contest.

Poslie Postojanje, the runners-up, have declared an interest in the World Hit Festival. The secrecy surrounding the WHF team's plans have made it difficult to ascertain which edition is certain. However, the band released a joint statement declaring a steadfast interest and provisional intention in representing Izmedu in the 50th World Hit Festival.

We thank each and every international jury that voted in Izmepisma. This would not have been possible without your participation.

Languages: English, with a few lines in Kalosian

Tune: Que dieu me pardonne — Kendji Girac ft Claudio Capeo

Weeks ago, Mikhail Khaled was announced as the nation's representative at the 76th WorldVision Song Contest. A national final was held in which three songs was presented. At the end of the night, the song "Insemë" was announced to have won the vote, while "Ma ja" came 2nd and "Sia kanžu" third.

For the WorldVision Song Contest, Mikhail and his team have decided to translate the song's title into English, however the full lyrics to the song will remain intact. Best of luck to Mikhail!

Thank you to the Achaean Republic, Izmedu, Kishrael, Main Nation Ministry, and Scotatrova for the votes! I know I had promised to vote in NFs this edition but unfortunatly when I finally had time to vote in them, they had closed :(

I'll interestingly note that 3 of the 5 voters gave out points identically.

Scotatrova set to participate in WorldVision 76 after finding its new artists

Image

"I'm sad to announce that I will not be representing our great nation at this edition of WorldVision. Due to some unforseen consequences of something I have since put long behind me and because of some old, outdated beliefs, it has cost me this wonderful opportunity. However, I will learn from this experience and continue to grow. I congratulate the two artists and wish them the best of luck at WorldVision. Bring it home."
That was the statement issued on social media from Manuel Flauirnse, who has indeed confirmed he will not be participating in WorldVision. Hours before the statement was posted, the STRC announced that the search for its WorldVision participants had come to an end. In a surprise turn of events, it seems that the artists who will represent Scotatrova have already had the chance before to do so. Andre Valerio, who placed 18th in Scotatrova's debut in the contest, and Lila Cruz, who represented Scotatrova at WorldVision only 2 editions ago and placed a respectabe 8th place. The announcement received mixed reaction. Many saw this as unfair as they have already had the chance to represent the nation, while others believe their past experiences could help them succeed this time around. For better or for worse, Scotatrova's WorldVision 76 entrants are Andre Valerio and Lila Cruz with the song "Emor ei ondue resto".

THE BTVB ACCEPTS BVC'S WORLDVISION TAKEOVER JUST BEFORE WORLDVISION DEADLINE; BUT THERE'S NO ARTIST

By Damien Matthews

BVC today confirmed that The Britonish Television Board have confirmed that BVC will broadcast and participate in the upcoming WorldVision Song Contests, but now BVC is racing to find an artist.

Britonisea, after withdrawing from the 75th WorldVision Song Contest, is set to return to the WorldVision Song Contest but this time BVC will be the ones responsible for picking the Britonish act. BVC last sent an act to the WorldVision Song Contest 57 when BVC hosted the competition in Machievelihe. BVC will be sending their first act in nearly twenty editions with some members of the public wondering how BVC will do after such a long break. BVC has not yet confirmed an act for the upcoming WorldVision Song Contest, but it is expected that BVC will confirm this in the coming days...

Contest thread now up: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=471627

Sign-ups are now closed. All of the above have been provisionally accepted, although this could be subject to change as Estogium did not confirm that Britonisea was its puppet (or vice versa), so this is under review.

The host has opted for a HARD deadline for entry posting, so you have until Monday 16 September, 2000 BST to finalise your entries: no entries or edits will be accepted after that date.

Good luck!

A Primer on Postcard-Festivals

Postby Achaean Republic » Wed Sep 04, 2019 10:01 am

I hope that all are you are enjoying your time in sunny (and humid!) Rosario! This is an exciting time of year for us Achaeans to have you all visit us (and no hurricanes to boot!), so we’re here to give you a primer on some of our many festivals we selected for your nations to go throughout the year––sponsored by Fuego Airlines Achaea’s largest and most respective airline, and Correos de Acaya, the post office that carries the dreams of millions of Achaeans. Feel free to role-play the experiences you had in your respective festivals through your entry RPs. We’d surely appreciate it!

 1. ImageMissus X is traveling to the Carrera del Rosario, Achaea’s very own Kentucky Derby! Celebrated since 1735 on the second Saturday in October, the Carrera del Rosario is the centerpiece of the city’s ten-day patron saint festivities in honor of Our Lady of Rosario. This invitation-only competition celebrates the finest thoroughbred victors in other regional races to compete for two minutes of fame and glory. This is always broadcast on AS1 at exactly 5:30 PM EST. Tune: Joseph Fonseca- El Caballito de Palo
 2. ImageScotatrova is going to Corola City, in the state of Corola, to celebrate Las Mañanitas, a traditional celebration done every December 12 in honor of the city’s patron saint, Our Lady of Guadalupe. Many Corolanos consider this festival the true beginning of Christmas, as early-morning processions in honor of the Virgin fill the streets of the city’s traditional barrios with color and music. Tune: Pedro Infante-Las Mañanitas
 3. ImageProluviais on the small Southeastern fishing village of Punta Santiago in the state of Rio Grande for the Festival de la Lancha Planúa or the flat-footed boat festival, celebrated each year on the first weekend of June. Started by drunk fishermen in the late 70’s with nothing better to do, the highlight of this coastal festival is the flat-footed boat race to and from the Islote de Morangos, where the winner receives a year’s supply of free beer and chicharrones in the town’s bars.Tune: Viento de Agua-Ola de La Mar
 4. ImageMain Nation Ministry and its Leader must enjoy classical music while managing a large dictatorship; as such, we sent them to the Festival Casals in the Universidad Federal de Muñíz, in our nation’s capital. This two-week classical music festival on university grounds has included the presence of important Latin American conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Jacomo Bairos, and Miguel Harth-Bedoya. Tune: Orquesta Sinfónica de puerto Rico-Felices Días
 5. ImageBesen's Marietta must enjoy the sights and smells of flowers on a spring morning. For this reason, we sent her to the Carnaval de las Flores, a week-long festival in Canovanillas, in the central Achaean state of Jatibonuco. Billed as the largest flower exposition in the Caribbean, highlights include a procession of flower-based floats where the Queen of Carnival bashes everybody with flowers and water cannons.Tune: Marc Anthony-Flor Pálida
 6. ImageRuritaneis going to the Festival de la Novilla Rebelde, or the Festival of the Rebellious Heifer, in Santa Ana, the capital of the Western Achaean state of Zacatecas. Celebrated in honor of Saint Sebastian, this three-day festival includes human depictions of young cattle with painted nails and mating dances with colorful dances.Tune: Dona Odete-Jamburana
 7. ImageGaciadiaenjoys dolphins and on the coast, so we couldn't pass up the chance to have them witness the Diablos Marinos, costumed anglerfishes in grotesque costumes that parade the city of Angola in Islas Fortuna in search of minnows to eat for Carnival. Made of papier-mâché and sand, these costumed fish-demons are an excellent representation of our fused Taíno, Spanish, and African heritage.Tune: Hector Lavoe & Willie Colon-Che Che Cole
 8. ImageAxuvais in La Izquierda on the outskirts of Corola to witness the celebration of the Virgen del Carmen, the patron saint of fishermen. Every mid-July, a procession takes place at sea where the local priest throws a statue of the Virgin in deep water; whoever gathers the statue first receives a special blessing––and lots of rum!Tune: Fontova Trio-Virgen del Carmen
 9. ImageMalta Comino Gozois enjoying the sun in Playa Los Tubos for Guaya-Guaya Fest, Nueva Galicia's largest urban music festival. Four days of pure reggaeton, trap and dembow dot the many stages of this iconic beach––just don’t try to pack any heat!Tune: Jowell y Randy-El Funeral de la Canoa
 10. Image]Polkopia's having fun in Cardenalicia for Angostura's one and only Festival Internacional de la Salsa, one of Achaea’s spiciest events! Every bar, studio, and dance club in the city opens up on early December for seven nights filled with passionate and energetic salsa music––and yes, lots of salsa dip!Tune: El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico-Sin Salsa No Hay Paraíso
 11. ImageAmuaplye is having a tasty bounty for Acción de Gracias, the Achaean version of Thanksgiving in Buonásera’s Hacienda Buena Vista! One of our most recent holidays dating from the US invasion of Achaea in the 1940’s, Achaeans have adapted this American tradition to suit the tropical tastes: roast pork, turkey, pasteles, fritters and more scrumptious desires herald the traditional beginning of the Achaean Christmas season.Tune: El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico-El Menú
 12. ImageBritonisea's jumping around with the Guloyas, a Pre-Lenten tradition in the island of Baquibo in Islas Fortuna. During colonial times, slaves and freedmen from British-controlled posessions came to Baquibo to work in the sugar fields who retained the mixture of colorful African dresses and instruments with re-tellings of British morality plays.Tune: Aziatic-Chatty Chatty
 13. ImageIzmedu's splash of fun and color leads them to the Carnavales Acuáticos or water carnivals, a unique tradition that takes place in Cabo de Gata, Angostura. Started in the 1970s, the water carnivals involve numerous decorated floats across the Cabo de Gata River into the mouth of the Caribbean Sea. The most beautiful boat is spared a fiery end by the end of Carnival! Tune: Corazón de Azuero-Murga Macaraqueña
 14. ImagePambudia is enjoying some good seafood from Western Achaea’s traditional Mariscadas, large seaffood platters created by fishermen to be enjoyed by the whole community. While Tamané in Zacatecas is not the only city that does these seafood events, its platters are the largest and most renowned in the region––not to mention, tasty! Tune: Johnny Ventura-Patacón Pisao
 15. ImageVartugia is learning the many ways to cook breadfruit in the Festival de la Pana, a three-day ode to one of Achaea's most famous tropical staples. More than 300 appetizers, entrees, deserts, and even liquors made of breadfruit are in exposition in Mambiche Prieto, in Navarrona. Tune: Chi Ching Ching-Roast or Fry
 16. ImageErtzei Kishrim is honoring Arab-Achaean heritage in the Festival del Ayuno or the Fasting Festival, located in the city of Larnaca in Southwestern Achaea. While the vast majority of Arab-descendended Achaeans today no longer speak Arab and are mostly Roman Catholic, a small contingent still congregate on this impressive mosque in Antofagasta each first Ramadan weekend to celebrate the first Syrian-Lebanese Muslim immigrants to the region in the late 19th century. Have fun with traditional Levantine music and food with a Caribbean twist! Tune: Adriana Lucía-A Pedile a Mi Dios
 17. ImageNatanya celebrates La Santa Cruz in the city of Chipiana de Granada, the capital of Santa Cruz, a ten-day festival dedicted to the numerous flowery crosses that each barrio decorates in honor of a Catholic saint. Brought from Moriscos hailing from the city of Granada, have fun dancing old-country [i]sevillanas and dress up in traditional Andalusian dresses while having a nice glass of wine! Tune: Grupo Plaza Nueva-Popurrí de Sevillanas
 18. Image Antahbrantahstan is in the city of Juana Díaz, near the state of Ponce, celebrating Día de Reyes, one of the Achaean Republic's most cherished traditions. Every January 6, children put showboxes filled with grass under their beds so they can receive presents from the Three Kings on their way to give presents to infant Jesus. Many cabalgatas or horseback ride parades are held throughout the country, but the oldest continuous celebrations are don in Juana Díaz, since 1841, where the city becomes a living manger! Tune: Julieta Venegas-Ya Vienen Los Reyes
 19. ImageNormandy and Picardy enjoy Achaea's largest book festival La Feria de Libros de San Jorge, a tradition from Catalan migrants that was revived in 1965 in the city of San Jorge in San Miguel. For two weeks in honor of Saint George, the city turns into a large library where prestigious artists, writers, poets, and even chefs, bakers and beer-makers transform their creations into literary masterpieces. And who can forget to try out the world-famous Bookbeer?Tune: Mima & La Orquesta Bombilla-Ñam Ñam
 20. ImageVoxija celebrates our freedom in Arapaima's Lago de Candelaria for Las Fogatas, the bonfire parties of February 2. Every Independence Day, Achaeans make a bonfire in the early morning in a sign of devotion to the Virgin of the Candelaria that they will become free from the yoke of Spain––and then they party! Tune: Sonora Ponceña-Fuego en el 23
 21. ImageEstogium's in the city of Ocumá in Suárez del Sur to Celebrate Las Siete Potencias, Achaean Santeria’s most famous holiday. While not officially sponsored by the city, Santeria practitioners believe that the seven deities of the Yoruba cannon––Obatalá, Changó, Eleggua, Oshún, Ogún, Orunmilá, and Yemanyá––possess certain believers and grant prayers to them. Tune: Carlinhos Brown-Ashansu
 22. ImageNorth Arenia is learning how to take care of and appreciate horses in the Festival de Pason Fin celebrated in Tamarindo, in the state of Guainía. This special weekend has the elegant Paso Fino horses compete and demonstrate their talents, all the while a gallery of food, beer and music follow their path. Tune: Trio Vegabajeño-Nuestro Juramento

Check back often for the next batch of festivals profiled in this edition of the Worldvision Song Contest!

ELEANORA BUCKINGHAM AWAKE IN HOSPITAL AS BUCKINGHAM CASE GETS NEW BOOST

By Damien Matthews

Eleanora Buckingham has finally woken from her coma that she was in since her fall at the 75th WorldVision Song Contest in Kalosia just as Il Gran Palazzo Mediterraneo provides Britonish police with new details..

It has been weeks since Eleanora Buckingham was found at the bottom of the stairs of the Kalosian hotel, Il Gran Palazzo Mediterraneo, which left Britonisea withdrawing from the WorldVision Song Contest mid-contest for the first time in it's 45 edition history. In the time since, Eleanora Buckingham had been going through surgeries for broken bones in several places in her body but we have received good news from her family who state that her condition is stable and that she has finally woken up but isn't yet speaking. Eleanora Buckingham has been approached by police but due to her condition, the family had stopped them due to Eleanora seemingly reacting badly in when she saw Police. Eleanora also had a visit from the former WorldVision Delegation of BITC which also seemed to cause her a bit of distress, with the family now having no visitors at all until Eleanora is able to talk for herself. The family, in the meantime, have thanked Kalosian doctors for their help with Eleanora during her hospital stay.

Meanwhile at Il Gran Palazzo Mediterraneo, new details have emerged about the case with many assuming that the hotel giving over the tape of the night and location where Eleanora Buckingham had her fall. While many people have been wondering what these new details are, the Britonish Police who are looking into the case have stated in a press release that "the new details is evidence that will help the case a lot. We are in no position to speak further about the matter. The Buckingham family are seeking justice as they believe someone is to blame and with the new evidence we will hopefully be able to punish those who are responsible." It is expected that the evidence that have come to light will never enter the public eye, especially because the Buckingham family have not looked to the media to look for who is responsible. It is also unclear what crime the culprit would be charged either with the evidence maybe providing insight into this.

As we move onto the 76th WorldVision Song Contest, it has been confirmed that Rosario in Achaean Republic will be the hosts of the competition with Britonisea confirmed to be a participant at the contest. BVC have stated that Ria Aristide and Mabel Mae will represent the nation at the upcoming WorldVision Song Contest with the song being released a weekend before the competition...

The WorldVision Song Contest airs on the 21st September 2019 on BVC One.

I know this is very last minute but I'm going to have to pull Normandy and Picardy out, will still be competing as Monaero tho. Hope this is official enough (I have already discussed this with Tod, but if I remember correctly you have to post something here)

As seen on the IC thread, the voting for the 76th WorldVision Song Contest has officially begun, you have until the 23rd September, 20:00 BST to vote for your favourite acts. Due to not completing an entry, Gaciadia has been banned from the next contest. Normandy & Picardy informed a member of the committee beforehand and will thus be able to participate in the 77th edition. Proluvia does not have a complete entry and thus, Nekoni as master is banned from competing in WV77.

Regarding the case of Natanya and puppet Teesdexia, after much discussion the committee has ruled that Natanya (and Teesdexia) broke the rules and thus is ineligible to compete in WV76 by a vote of 4 (Achaean Rep, Mr. X, Polkopia, ToBu) to 1 (Kishrael). In addition, Antahbrantahstan has also been disqualified from this edition by a vote of 3 (Mr. X, Polkopia, ToBu) to 2 (Achaean Rep, Kishrael) for being deemed to have an incomplete entry. Both will be eligible to compete in the next edition.

As a result we have 26 eligible entries competing for WorldVision crown in Rosario! Best of luck to all the competing entries!
