Natanya confirms return!
NTV have today announced their intention to return to the Worldvision Song Contest once again for the 76th edition. There was some initial doubt surrounding whether this Natanyan comeback to the contest would follow on into future editions after a rather disappointing performance at the 75th contest in Monterra, Kalosia, but with NTV sticking to their oath to not only comeback to the contest more regularly, but to try and amp up Natanyan enthusiasm and effort for the contest, and hopefully improve results out of the usual mid-table sittings and more towards the higher end of the board. One factor that may have pushed NTV to continue with the contest may have been the recent, much more successful performance in the 47th World Hit Festival, where Natanya managed to achieve 4th, although in the initial speculation some thought this may have worked detrimentally, thinking NTV may abandon Worldvision for World Hit Festival, NTV have confirmed that this is not the case, and is not likely to happen in the near future.
With the confirmation of their return, NTV have also announced the song and artist which will represent Natanya, which they have internally selected. The artist representing Natanya at the 76th Worldvision Song Contest shall be singer and dancer Chŏnsul with his new single "Shards". Chŏnsul, whose real name is Aylward Kyung Nechayev, is a Natanyan pop and rock singer with an Axuvian background. His stage name, depending on the context, can be written in different ways and even in different scripts, for Worldvision, he will be credited as "Chŏnsul". While singing is his main focus, many of the songs he's been apart of include dance routines and has also ventured into some smaller acting roles. Chŏnsul has been quoted as being "extremely happy" to be representing Natanya at the contest, saying "Worldvision is a big opportunity, I said yes to the chance to go almost immediately".
"Shards" has been described as a stripped back guitar ballad with an Iberian flair. NTV have taken a more lowkey approach to the song this time around, hoping the more calm and emotional style of song will attract a new audience and potentially bring new voters along with it. Lyrically, the song is about the "shards" of a broken heart, with Chŏnsul's emotional performance taking centre stage. When it comes to staging, Chŏnsul and NTV haven't given much away, although Chŏnsul hinted that he'd want a more laid back affair, though he counted that by saying he also didn't want to "make it too boring too quickly" by having it be extremely simple. He has also been recorded saying he's "somewhat hopeful" at his chances at doing well at the competition, explaining that "ballad can be hit or miss at Worldvision, but I think with the extra flair ours can perform better". NTV have said they are aiming for a top half finish for this Worldvision, but did not elaborate further on their strategy, only revealing that they have more specific goals, predictions and boundaries for their future placements.
Here's to luck for both NTV and Chŏnsul and hopes for a better result than the robbery that was WV75! See you all in Worldvision 76!
