Welcome to Besen!

For the first time since I took leadership back at the 41st World Hit Festival, it's finally time to host the Junior World Hit Festival! This time we have the pleasure of going to Mera, Besen - a nation that hasn't hosted the World Hit Festival before - in what will be a new adventure for the World Hit Festival team. Us at BVC are excited to work with BSB - the Besenian broadcaster for Junior World Hit Festival, the hosts of the 6th Junior World Hit Festival.

Both us in Junterapten and BSB in Mera would love for this to be the largest Junior World Hit Festival ever. This edition we are including the televote as well, which we are more than excited to include. Depending on how it's used here, it may get implemented in the normal World Hit Festival.

Good luck to Mera, Besen and all the participating nations of Junior World Hit Festival 6.

Fabio McAlpine
World Hit Festival Overseer

What is the Junior World Hit Festival?
The Junior World Hit Festival is the children's version of the World Hit Festival. It is a multiversal song competition modeled after the World Hit Festival. Each nation shall enter 1 song and 1 artist, and it shall be 'performed' via roleplay. Most nations tend to use a real life tune as a musical backing, but every entry submitted to the Junior World Hit Festival is required to have original lyrics (ie. if you submit a tune, you must re-write the lyrics), so this does mean that instrumental entries are blocked from entering the contest.

JWHF operates with three threads, the OOC, Draft, and IC threads. The one you are seeing now is the OOC/Sign-ups thread, the main place for you to discuss the contest, reveal your entrant, etc. All OOC chatter goes here. The Draft Thread, opened by the host, is the second thread opened up during a JWHF contest, and this draft thread is where nations will post and work on their entries until a deadline determined by the host. The IC thread, also opened by the host is the third and final thread attached to a WHF, and it is where the host will transfer your entries.

However, there are key differences between the JWHF and the regular WHF, most of which will be articulated in the rules and procedures section. All of the regular rules in the WHF still apply, but a lot of the differences will involve your IC participants and how the show selects its host. Unlike the WHF, JWHF calls for bids from interested channels and decides the host through a bidding process. Additionally, your IC entrants must be children or young teenagers in order to be eligible to participate (between the ages of 7 and 16 - an increase of since Junior World Hit Festival 5).

Four editions of the Junior World Hit Festival have been held so far. To find them, please click this link.

Rules and Procedures
  1. A user is allowed to submit 2 puppets maximum to the contest, meaning that a user can be controlling at most 3 nations in the contest.
  2. The voting procedure is as follows: 5 points to your favourite, 4, 3, 2, and 1 to your 5th favourite. All votes are sent to the host (Besen) through telegram.
  3. Users are allowed to receive 8 points maximum from their puppets in the Jury Vote. Meaning, a nation with three users can use Nation B and C (with B and C giving 4 points each) to give Nation A 8 points total, but nothing more.
  4. A nation is expected to vote in both the Jury and Televote.
  5. All or at least most of the written lyrics must be original. Should any user spot any concerns, don't hesitate to let either Britonisea (The Overseer) or Besen (The Host) know.
  6. If more than 30 nations successfully post complete entries on the draft thread, semi-finals will be held.

  • If you like to find out more information regarding Junior World Hit Festival 6, find out HERE!
  • If you want to learn about the TELEVOTING SYSTEM, find out HERE!

Rules and Differences for the Junior World Hit Festival
  1. Your IC entrants must be between the ages of 7 and 16 on the date of the contest.
  2. 6 people maximum are allowed on the stage, and all of them also must be between the ages of 7 and 16.
  3. Your lyrics must also be age-appropriate for the singer's age. For example, a singer who is 13 years old would normally not be singing a song about war or an economic crisis and thus, it would look out of place if done so. Rule of thumb: if your lyrics are more suitable for an adult in their 30s or 40s, step back. Remember that you're writing for a younger singer.
  4. Unlike the regular WHF, the JWHF has a language rule. 50% of your song must be in your national, regional, widely-spoken, and/or state-sponsored languages that your country speaks in. Preferably, this language should not be English (it is not forbidden if English is your national language, but you are highly encouraged to use another language)
  5. In terms of tunes and song production, there's two aspects. ICly, children/teenagers are going to be the main authors of the song, so keep that in mind when choosing your tune. However, adults can help produce the song or teach your entrants to songwrite. However, like rule 3, if you find that the songwriting begins to match that of a renowned artist, step back. OOCly, it is highly recommended and advisable but not required that you choose a tune primarily produced by children (examples: children's music or the Junior Eurovision are good sources for tunes)
  6. As an addendum to tunes, OOCly adult-produced songs can be sent to the JWHF. However, you must be able to ICly justify it and it will be held to the same rules (language rule, etc). If enough nations in the community object to a nation's tune, the WHF Overseer will make the final judgment to the tune's suitability.
  7. The JWHF6 will be trialling out a new Jury/Televote system. It is up to the host how they would like to reveal the winners of the televote and jury points. You can find out more information about how to vote in the post below.

If you want to see what the contest looks like in action, here are links to the most recent JWHF: OOC Thread where you can find the Draft Thread and IC Thread.

Signing Up
You've read the rules and what it's about, and you wanna join? Awesome! To confirm that you are indeed participating, fill out the sign-up form below. It is not necessary to immediately complete the sign-up form in full immediately, as a post saying you'll participate is also fine. However, please do fill out the form to completion during the contest.

Voting in Junior World Hit Festival | Mera, Besen

Postby Britonisea » Mon Aug 05, 2019 4:00 pm

TELEVOTING PORTAL
Have a look!

Jury Voting in the Junior World Hit Festival 6
Monday 2nd September 2019 - Sunday 8th September 2019

The Junior World Hit Festival Jury Voting will work in the same way it currently works in the World Hit Festival, with all nations sending their top 5 entries to the host. Please read the host's information carefully. They will then collate all of the points together and get them ready to reveal. All nations are expected to vote. As this is a lot of work for the host, we would recommend you vote as soon as possible, with the prime time to vote being after the Listen-Along (straight after) - the date to which will be decided by Besen at a later date.

As soon as you have voted Jury voted, the host will then allow you to vote using the link above - the Televoting Portal. If you vote early for the Jury votes, you will have a longer time to vote in the Televote. We have allowed two weeks to do the voting separately to make it easier for everyone to get used to the large change. We expect a large Junior World Hit Festival.

Once the deadline has reached, you can no longer vote.

Televoting in the Junior World Hit Festival 6
Monday 9th September 2019 - Sunday 15th September 2019

This edition you will be able to submit televotes for the Junior World Hit Festival. We expect all users to participate in this - it is up to the user whether they would like to vote only once or based on how many nations they have participating at the Junior World Hit Festival 6. This means if you've entered only one nation to JWHF you can only submit one televote form, whereas if you've sent three nations, you can submit up to three televote forms.

When you click onto the link, make sure you read all the information there before submitting "Yes". You will then be asked questions about your nation and whether you are submitting a form as a PUPPET or a MASTER nation. This bit should take you the best of thirty seconds.

Page 2: Televoting Page 1: Voted-for Nations

Here, you need to get together the list of nations that YOU VOTED FOR in Page 2: Televoting Page 1: Voted-for Nations. For example, if Kalosia voted for Todlichebujoku, Britonisea, Besen, Izmedu and Axuva, on this page, Kalosia can only vote for THOSE nations. From these five nations, Kalosia can pick the nation his nation's televoters would most vote for under FIRST PREFERENCE with all considerations thought about. This nation will receive approximately 1/3 of all points given by Kalosia's televoters. Kalosia can then vote for a second nation under SECOND PREFERENCE with Kalosia being able to pick one of the other four available nations. This nation would receive 1/5 total points given out by Kalosia. You cannot vote for the same nation more than once per nation.

After you have voted here, you will then move onto Page 3: Televoting Page 2: Other Nations. Here, Kalosia would be free to pick two nations that he couldn't vote for when deciding his top 5. This is a great opportunity to reward nations that just missed out. Under FIRST PREFERENCE, Kalosia can pick the nation his televoters would have like the MOST than the Jury didn't include in the Top 5. This nation will receive around 1/3 of all points given by Kalosia's televoters. Finally, under SECOND PREFERENCE, Kalosia can pick another nation he didn't vote for. They will receive around 16% of his votes.

And then you're all done. Click SUBMIT and confirm with The Overseer that you've sent the votes so he can check. If you do not confirm this, they might not have been saved. Four nations, very quick. Please look below for a few rules about televoting.

  • You CAN NOT vote for yourself as a NATION. This means that Natanya cannot vote for Natanya in EITHER section of the Televoting whatsoever.
  • YOU CAN NOT vote for yourself more than ONCE in each section with more than one nation in the Junior World Hit Festival. This means that if Togonistan is participating with Cleaca and Kalmarlund, Togonistan can receive points from Kalmarlund on the "Voted For" nations (if Kalmarlund did vote for Togonistan) and then Cleaca can vote for Togonistan in "Other Nations" (if Cleaca didn't vote for Togonistan). HOWEVER, no more voting exchanges can happen between all three nations. Votes will be discounted if this happens.
  • YOU CAN NOT vote for a nation twice in either section PER NATION.

If you have any questions, please ask on the Thread or DM Britonisea.

Here we are, for the first time in Besen for the 6th Junior World Hit Festival. Although our nation have never participated in JWHF, we have been frequent participants in World Hit Festival, and will send an entrant to the 47th edition in Kyvivre, Britonisea. We have hosted only once, for the 72nd WorldVision Song Contest - so we felt it was time to explore a different part of Besen for JWHF. Welcome to Mera... we're sure it is going to be an amazing experience.

Image

Our city of Mera is very much a beautiful one. It sits on the Eastern coast of Besen's lands, with a vast spread of forest and sea. Development of the city has allowed it to expand it's capacity in regards to both people and the economy - it has experienced the fastest growth of any area in the country. Home to 2 million, Mera is extremely diverse, which is something we are very proud of, and we definitely celebrate this fact. The locals here are probably the most kind, welcoming people in the whole of the country and we believe that this makes the city a perfect atmosphere for this event.

It has a continually growing nightlife scene, where you can expect one of the craziest nights of your life - for the adults, of course. We know this is a contest for the children of the world, and we are sure of our ability to provide a brilliant experience for them too. Agieno Park is the biggest theme park in Besen, and critically acclaimed for it's diverse entertainment - especially for kids. If that's not for you, you could always simply take a walk through the maze of streets, exploring the sprawling array of commercial hubs.

Image

Image
No LEDs in Mera - lighting will be the greatest element of your stage performances.

Image
MEB Arena will hold 15,000 for WHF - though it has the ultimate capacity for 20,000.

MEB Arena was constructed as a final product in 2010, originating as a venue for sports, but quickly evolving into a great place to host concerts. Its capacity is currently 20,000 - however we recognise its ability to grow in capacity if we should feel it's appropriate to remove the sides of the stage, which usually are used as a platform to elevate the performer. The venue is critically acclaimed for its lighting abilities, which support laser lights and many other forms.

LEDs. We have taken the decision to not use them for this stage. Instead, we will have six interchangeable and customisable panels in the back, which will act as a beacon for whichever route delegations would like to go for in terms of their lighting design. And of course, we won't completely disallow LEDs, and delegations are permitted to bring and utilise their own, in whatever capacity that is. We wish to give the performers a good variety of tools to showcase their artistic vision, but we challenge the participating nations to think outside of the box to do so.

We vow to keep the delegations updated on how the stage construction is heading, and a comprehensive idea of what they will be able to utilise for their performance.

Image

Our hosts have been selected based on a strict criteria for the direction of the contest. Our theme 'The Future Is Now' is very fitting of these two fantastic people. Both were previous child stars, and have paved their own way in adulthood, in two very different ways.

Alia Reno will be recognised by Besen as the young girl, who acted in a very popular TV show that is considered an important piece of the nation's cultural identity. She has since gone on to gain recognition for her charity and activism work. Her history as an activist has led her to many places and she has been acclaimed many times - even eventually receiving an honorary award from the King. The theme means a lot to her:

"I am in love with the theme of this. I wish to give these kids a sense that they are the future of the world, and they really mean so much to our society, and always will. As a mother, I hope we can spread our pride for them as they have given their performances, just like I would for my own children."

On the other hand, Georgio Naleine is seen as important figure in the world of sport. He is the only openly gay man to win the top prize in a 'Kreballis' championship. He also states that the theme is a great message to send:

The future definitely is now. I wish I could have had that type of message on the TV when I was young, and I'm glad to be able to tell every child in the world that they are worthy of anything they work hard for, just as I have proved."

Image

Our graphical content for the JWHF in Mera is supposed to resemble the futuristic themes of our whole contest. We will relate all of the branding to the slogan "The Future Is Now" - almost 'spacey.'

This is shown in our graphic design, which will be very much based around this idea, and the general futuristic vision that we have. The shapes that appear in all of our promotion will be used in both the postcards and the end scoreboard.

In the postcards especially, we will give the delegations participating to choose which colour they would like to be used in the shape, a tool that we will use to personalise the design of each postcard. We hope that nations will be able to correlate our graphical design with the theme.

Image Image

This contest will integrate the new televoting system, which you can find more information about in the post above. We are sure that the graphic design will be fantastic in ensuring this segment is both intense and visually pleasing. You can take a look on how you will participate in this by taking a look at the Televoting Portal, created by the Overseer.

We at BSB really hope to make this edition of Junior World Hit Festival a memorable and exciting one. We know we aren't always the greatest hosts in terms of supreme graphical content, but we without a doubt will do an attentive job in fulfilling the needs of the competition. If you need any further information regarding the theme or the stage or the general contest, don't hesitate to contact Besen or the WHF Overseer Britonisea via Discord or TG.

Have an amazing JWHF!

hi I
Axuva Today Network [ATN] Today we announce that the Axuvian Government now recognizes The Russian Language as an Official Language, Korean and English were spoken in the beginning, but there were Russians too, russians were forgotten and their language were not recognized due to the things they did in the past, but now their language is a official language of Axuva, and there will now be 3 official languages instead of two.

IC Date: 15 August 2019, 7pm
For the first time in nearly two years, the children's spin-off of one of the Multiverse's most successful National Finals is returning to the screens of Britons, with BVC broadcasting live from Kyvivre. Vha Mehlodhivestoile is back. In wake of the 47th World Hit Festival happening on Sunday just gone (11th August 2019), BVC decided that it would be a good idea to reuse the arena's facilities for VME2019, with it being converted into a television studio for the Semi-Finals on the 15th and 16th of August before transforming back into the arena set up for the Grand Final to prepare our young artists for what will face them in Mera, Besen. In order to participate in VME2019, BVC stated that children must be transitioning to or already in secondary school (10/11-16) but must be 16 or younger on the date of the Grand Final of the Junior World Hit Festival. Despite what was a much smaller field than what the JWHF accepts (going down to 7-year-olds), BVC managed to receive over 400 applications, some of which were bought forward from Britonisea's sudden withdrawal from Togonistan's Junior World Hit Festival.

This edition is larger than the last, with there now being six songs per Semi-Final, instead of five. Similarly to the last edition, we will be seeing three qualify from each Semi-Final, but this year we will also see a wildcard entry which the Britonish Public will decide on at the end of the emission tomorrow. It will be revealed online which artist made it through to the Grand Final which takes place on the 18th August 2019 where our winner will be found. Like the last edition, the Britonish Televote and Jury will decide the Semi-Finalists that have gone through to the Final before a joint 50/50 international jury and televote effort. This edition we have fantastic artists ready to blow your socks off! You can be introduced to them below...

SEMI FINAL 1: THE SONGS

First up we have fourteen-year-old Kayden Boyce-Lee from Aloquirbe's Alosable...

01 KAYDEN BOYCE-LEE - "WANT TO HAVE FUN"
Age, 14
Tune: Smash Into Pieces - Human

Let’s run, let us be free
Let us dance ‘till we sleep.

I just want to have fun and party-par-ty
Oh want to have fun
Want to have fun, oh oh yes I do
Want to have fun!
Want to have fun!
Oh I wanna feel like I am an adult,
That I’m old
I want to just go out!
Oh I want to have fun oh yeah!

Up next we have 13-year-old Aaliyah Foster from Telm City in the East...

02 AALIYAH FOSTER - "I WONDER IF"
Age, 13
Tune: dodie - Secret For The Mad

In and out - oh I breath in and out
Take in the cold air of the mountain tops
I look down on the world, realise that we are oh so small

I…
Wonder if…
We could be larger than we look...
I…
Wonder if…
We could be larger than we look...

Next up is 15-year-old Leon Boroughs from the capital, Doportedas...

03 LEON BOROUGHS - "BUTTERFLIES"
Age, 15
Tune: Bahjat - Hometown Smile

Yeah, when I look at you
My stomach fills with butterflies
Yeah it fills with butterflies
Yeah it fills with butterflies

Everytime you walk by
Oh everytime that you smile
I’m smitten - my stomach fills up with butterflies
Everytime you walk by
Oh everytime that you smile
My stomach fills with the most beautiful butterflies.

Up next we have 16 year old Amanda Drews who hails from Burgendore, Ghiezland.

04 AMANDA DREWS - "FLYING FROM THE NEST"
Age, 16
Tune: Natasha St-Pier - Aimer c'est tout donner

With your help I will rise,
Leave the past well behind.
No looking back - I won’t.
I won’t regret - no way.

With your help I will rise,
No, I refuse to cry
We both knew this would come
It’s time for me to go
I’m flying from the nest…

The next song that we have is from 12 year old Rahrah Montana from Alshkan in the West of Britonisea...

05 RAHRAH MONTANA - "WHO AM I?"
Age, 12
Tune: Rebecca Roubion - Don't Know Who I Am

Who Am I?
Who Am I?
Who Am I?
Who will tell me which path I’ll choose?

Tell Me Now!
Tell Me Now!!
Tell Me Now!!!
Who will tell me which path I’ll choose?

The final song of the night performed to Britons is 16-year-old Johnathon Granger from Junterapten in the Central East.

06 JOHNATHON GRANGER - "LOUDER"
Age, 16
Tune: Luca Hänni - POWDER (official Video)

There's nothing you can do to silence me, you can't ignore me
I may be young and naïve to you - you also know I'm right
I will scream the words out louder, louder
And I'll push them out with power, power
I'll do anything to make my friends and family prouder
If I'm ignored, I'll shout out louder

SEMI FINAL 1: THE RESULTS

After a great interval act, we then revealed the votes of Semi-Final 1. The Britonish Televoters and the Britonish Jury had the same top with Johnathon Granger receiving 126 points in total and therefore coming first and qualifying to the Grand Final of VME2019.

Coming second in both the Televoters and the Britonish Jury was Amanda Drews who was very close in the public vote - with a larger audience on Sunday perhaps tipping things over. Amanda was only two points behind Johnathon in the Jury. Both acts received two top marks in the Jury. Amanda received a total of 119 points in total.

The last act to qualify is Aaliyah Foster who came third in the televote but came fifth in the Jury vote. Overall, Aaliyah received 79 points in total which was enough to qualify, but very close in front of the other acts...

Congratulations to Johnathon Granger, Amanda Drews and Aaliyah Foster for making it to the VME2019 Grand Final of Sunday. We can't wait to see you perform in front of thousands!

One member of this Semi-Final might still make it to the Grand Final. We will find this information out on Saturday!

While we won't have the consolidated figures until next week, it was expected that a solid 3 million people tuned over to BVC2 to watch Vha Mehlodhivestoile Euvenoures 2019 which saw three acts qualify to the Grand Final. Tonight we will see the same with six more acts taking to the stage in arenakyvivre hoping to win over the Britonish Televote and Jury to go to the Final and go on to represent Britonisea at the Junior World Hit Festival which is set to take place in Mera, Besen. This time we have a wide range of young artists looking for your votes...let's meet them...

SEMI FINAL 2: THE SONGS

The first performance tonight is 13 year-old Angelica from Tonesk in the centre of Britonisea!

01 ANGELICA - "CAPTURE THE MOMENT"
Age, 13
Tune: Angélina - Jamais Sans Toi

Take a photo; you have got to capture the moment
Don’t think twice - otherwise you’ll miss that perfect smile
Remember! One day you’ll look back on these photos,
And you will say…
I am so happy this exists.

God, I am so happy this exists.
God, I’m so happy this exists.

Up next we have 15 year old Jake Onarsson from the city of Ghiez on Ghiezland.

02 JAKE ONARSSON - "OUR KINGDOM"
Age, 15
Tune: Vlad Reiser - Nakna i regnet

Get up, then you go to sleep
You’re stuck in this routine - yeah
Is it boring you cuz it sure is boring me!
We’ll rebel, let’s do it
Let’s take flight and make our own rules, our kingdom.

We can make all our own laws from top to bottom
No one can tell us how our kingdom should be run

Next up is 14 year-old from Jared Jones who hails from Estogium - Darlington.

03 JARED JONES - "I'LL WAIT"
Age, 14
Tune: Isak Danielson - I Am Falling In Love

I’ll cross my fingers,
And I’ll pray,
Wish upon a star, I’m waiting for you

Yes, honey I’ll wait
I’ll wait at our bench by the tree
Oh here hugged and we had our first kiss

Up next we have 14 year old Alkar Harmonds who is from Arçonne in North Britonisea.

04 ALKAR HARMONDS - "FEWL BETTER"
Age, 14
Tune: Eldar - Rising Up

So come on, jump! Let’s get up, no refusing
We can’t sit and just doing nothing
This’ll make you feel better
Feel better!

I’m here to raise your spirit,
Back to normal in a minute.
This’ll make you feel better
Feel better!

The penultimate act of the evening is Grace Jones from Zelmerlöw in the East of Britonisea...

05 GRACE JONES - "LIFE'S TOO SHORT"
Age, 13
Tune: Rhys - Too Good To Be True

You know life’s too short
(You know life’s too short)
You know life’s too short
(Oh yes it is too short)
I intend to live my best life from the start

You know life’s too short
(You know life’s too short)
You know life’s too short
(Oh yes it is too short)
I intend to live my best life from the start

So join my journey!

The last song of the night comes from brothers Garange and Louis from Aloquirbe's Alosable.

06 GARANGE & LOUIS - "AHGEHAR NEISTON INDIEREMINT"
Age, 15 & 16
Tune: Evan & Marco - Le Boxeur

Did you know without you my life is incomplete
We both fit together like a jigsaw piece
Pareterum teiston euten [Forever you’ll be mine]
Teis-ton ma remus wo-oah! [You are my brother]

And even through the hardest days - where we don’t speak,
Just remember I’m always there for you
Ahgehar neiston indieremint [Together we’re inseparable]
Teis-ton ma remus, [You are my brother]
Remus… [Brother]

SEMI FINAL 2: THE RESULTS

After another fantastic interval act, it was announced that the winner of tonight was - like the night before - the final act of the evening. Garange & Louis from Aloquirbe won with 121 points in total which sees the pair have 5 points less than Johnathan Granger from yesterday however they won with a much larger margin...

Coming in second place in what was a rather clustered Semi-Final in terms of results, Jake Onarsson who scored 99 points in total seeing him through to the Grand Final of VME2019. He won a single top placing from the Juries, the same as Garange & Louis.

Coming in third place is Angelica who scored 90 points in total, a single point in front of 4th place. Angelica came third in the Britonish Televote, not receiving any top places from the Juries coming fourth with them.

Notably, Alkar Harmonds received top placements from half of the jurors and missed out from qualifying due to his poor Britonish Televote placing. He, along with the other 5 acts could still perform on Sunday...

Congratulations to Garange & Louis, Jake Onarsson and Angelica for making it to the VME2019 Grand Final of Sunday. We can't wait to see you perform in front of thousands!
