Welcome to the Second Largest
Historical Reenactment/Living History Timeline Event in North America!

Ye Olde Fort Lizzie Days is an event run by the staff of the Fort Elizabeth Museum across the banks from New London, Mediama, and boarding on the shore of the Niagara River. Historically known as a base of operations for British Forces during the War of 1812, it remained a key base of operations in protecting Mediama from American incursion until late into the 1880’s, when relations between the two nations improved.

Fort Elizabeth was recommissioned as a training base during both World Wars, and remained a training camp for the Royal Army until 1966, when it was decommissioned for the final time. Today, it is a museum mainly covering events within the War of 1812, and is mainly staffed by historical interpreters from the era.

Since the museum had come under the directorship of a more eccentric historian named Lord Charles Nelson in the 1980’s, an idea had been floating around to organize an event that allows many reenactors to meet in one place in a show for the common love of living history and reenactment. And so, what started as a small gathering of minor reenactor groups, has turned into what some may consider, a Comic-Con for living history.

The event will showcase demonstrations of weaponry on a designated field in the vicinity of the fort from various groups. Various groups and regiments can also set up booths and scenery reflecting their represented time period, and conduct additional, non-weapon related demonstrations. In addition, there will be militeria vendors, and food and drink vendors in the fort commons, as well as visits of key historic figures, such as Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Victoria, Winston Churchill, Theodore Roosevelt, General Montgomery, General Patton, and General McArthur.

Everyone, regardless of nation, livelihood, or time period represented, is welcome to come and show off their prowess in historical interpretation. Visitors of all ages are welcome, and are also encouraged to wear clothing from all time periods.

Registrations are open for historical re-enactment groups and regiments to set up encampments at the event and to conduct weapon demonstrations and shows on the staging area, and non-weapons related demonstrations in your appropriate encampments (I.E. music from the time period, how butter was made, etc.).

All groups must pay a £50 registration fee. Group/Regiment leaders will receive wristbands equal to the number of participants in your group. These are essential to gain access to the fort in the event off hours to set up encampments.

Hello and welcome to Ye Olde Fort Lizzie Days. After participating in some of Selkie's festival roleplays, and in the RL event this event is based upon, Old Fort MacArthur Days, I felt inspired to create a non-war related RP of my own. Bear in mind this is the first Forum-RP I am in charge of.

IC is now up.

Notes:

• Firearms are permitted, but practice common sense gun safety (No aiming muzzles at other people, safety always on, keep weapons unloaded or at least loaded with an empty mag and slung/holstered outside of range, etc.). Group weapons in encampments should be stored on racks or stack arms, under careful watch of a group member to prevent theft. A range will be provided to test fire weapons before demonstrations. Airsoft weapons are to have the orange barrel in accordance to laws.
• Alcohol is NOT permitted.
• Reenactors, you are now educators of history, please answer questions politely, know the ins and outs of your clothing and gear, and act professionally.
• Should you want to be a militeria seller, let me know in OOC or TG.

As with any event, we've got to have

1 – No Godmodding, Meta-Gaming or other such nonsense.

1-1 – If such a case comes to your attention, bring it to general attention here and we will take care of that here.
1-2 – ALL Mediaman-NPCs are controlled by me. No exceptions.

2 – I am the OP, my word is law. I reserve the right to add to this list of rules or to amend rules if necessary.
3 – IC on IC, OOC on OOC, simple rule to follow, be sure to use it in that way.
4 – Permitted Characters:

4-1 – No high government or military officials. The only exception are portrayals of key historical figures in your nation's history. No other exceptions.
4-2 – Keep in mind, that your characters are under the right and law of Mediama. No illegal contraband, historical weapons will be checked through customs. On top of that, you are under museum rules.
4-3 – Appearance of your characters, a.k.a. Valid Passport Photo. Please choose pictures, that are SFW and where your character is easily identifiable. Anime-Pictures are allowed, but are under the same restrictions. You can also write a description of him or her. And it does not have to be a passport photo.
4-4 – Non-Humans. Non-Human Humanoids are permitted, the rest is not. Magic is restricted to the lowest setting, no exceptions.
4-5 – You have to provide an RP-sample (a link to a RP you participated in, from the account you are applying with, showing how you interact with other players, not a post written on the fly) and answer the question “Have you read and understood the rules?” with “Rommel you jerk, I read your book!” No exceptions.

5 – No murders. Violence only if all involved agree to it.

5-1 - Security will be provided by the Royal Mediaman Air Guard (equivalent of the Civil Air Patrol). If you feel the need for your character to have a bodyguard or someone of that kind, it's most likely a break of Rule 4-1.

6 – No military actions, declarations of war or similar stuff. We are here to recreate history, not create history (by trying to kill each other.)
7 – Try to avoid oneliners.
8 – When the IC starts, all characters accepted up to that point start on the fort commons during the flag raising ceremony. The set up phase for encampments might take up a lot of time otherwise. Group applications will still be accepted throughout the RP until the RP is coming to a close, or there is no more space to RP'ly set up an encampment.

The area marked in red is the fort commons, where militeria sellers will be situated, and the opening and closing ceremonies will be held. The areas surrounding that red area and outside the fort walls will be space for re-enactment encampments, so feel free to RP that. Additionally, depending on how many encampments are there, space will be limited, so keep that in mind.

Fields further south of the fort (not pictured), will be the range/staging area to test out equipment and to do weapons demonstrations/larger scale shows.

Small scale demonstrations such as musical performances and processes such as coin making, gun cleaning, butter making, etc. again will be allowed in your own encampments so long as it does not create undue harm. It’s a living history event, go nuts on historical acting.

Note: Museum events such as the Historical Fashion Show and the Gathering of Historic Proportions are open to all reenactors through registration with the attendant in the fort commons, where the two events will be held.(Rp'ed during the event or skipped all together so long as you let me know beforehand through your app or through TG).

People dressed as historical figures throughout history on stage basically acting like them and talking about themselves. You could send in an individual app for someone who portrays someone from your own nations’s history for that event as well if you want to join the event.

Likewise, you could also have living historical figures from your own nation’s history be there as well, veterans and war heroes and the like visiting as well.

I assume there are no time period restrictions considering the OP said it was All Tech. Though I'm unsure if say you are a FT nation (like myself) and you can present about your history (which is the future for MT nations).

It’s allowed, it’s just logically it might cause some confusion to spectators, there would have to be something to make the nation’s MT be different to Mediama’s MT (Just IRL stuff), since i’m MT myself and not PMT or FT.

I’d suggest digging a little further back to possibly simplify things, at least to the 1990’s. The all tech’s mainly there because as mentioned, it’s a timeline event, a comi-con for re-enactment in a modern nation.
