Royal Palace, Citta del Re. A week before.

Sitting at his desk, still and in silence, Cleone looked up at the ceiling of his office, which was lit only by the sunlight behind him. On the desk were papers, reports, issues, financial and legal matters. Military reports were still coming in regarding the shit-show in Posteastan. Deaths were still being confirmed and letters of condolences were still being written. Sorting out these papers, he noticed an envelope among them. It was sealed with wax and the stamp was an emblem he did not know.

He flipped and turned the envelope every which way, surely the address was to the palace. He stood up from the chair and opened it in the sunlight, it was an invitation to a baptism, in a country called Camelone. Baptism of the two royal children of the king. He'd never heard of this country, or its king. Peculiar that the envelope ended up on his desk, the name rings a bell but he couldn't put his finger on it.

"Hmm. Who would I invite?" Throughout his day he would think about who he could take. His brother Marcello? Running things while he's out. His sister Isabella? Out on vacation. Pietro? Doing...whatever he does. In truth, he would go alone, just to take some time off and be alone away from home, but it was almost custom to travel in twos. He'd figured he had to do more research on Camelone before actually going.

The following day, Cleone was again at his desk, a cigar burning in its tray, a line of smoke traveling up to the ceiling. As he read over some more reports, the buzzer at his desk rang.

"Sua Altezza, the Archbishop is here." the king was notified.

The guards outside opened the doors and the Archbishop entered. As he walked up the the king's desk, Cleone stood up. And when he reached the desk, Archbishop Neromari took his right hand from behind his ferraiolo(cape) and held it out, to which Cleone kissed his ring. In return, Neromari took off his biretta and bowed his head before putting it back on and the two sat down.

"My king."

"Archbishop...a drink?" he offered. The guest put up his hand in refusal and nodded. "Well, I'm glad you can come visit me."

"Of course, something about a royal baptism in some island kingdom, correct? But why me?"

"I don't know. Thought it would be fun. We haven't had a good time in a while. Get out of that stuffy cathedral."

"I like my cathedral, and my prayers. I'm not here for fun, I'm here for the Lord's work."

"Come on, there's a time for everything Your Excellency. Obviously, He has priority. But maybe me reaching out to you, is His way of getting you of there. What do you say?"

"Are they Catholic?"

"They were...once. They schismed a little bit after the 'Great' one. They call themselves 'Apostolic Catholic'. Don't know what that means but you can ask when we are there."

The Archbishop sighed "When do we leave?"

"A week." Cleone responded with a smile. The two stood up and bowed to each other. Neromari quickly blessed the king and was soon exiting the room. "See you in a week Your Excellency."

The day of departure came and the two, accompanied by guards, made their way to the plane. They had both made sure their things were in order before and during the leave, Cleone made the necessary calls for expectation to whoever would receive them in Camelone. The wind had Neromari hold onto his saturn hat and his cape flowing, it all ceased when he entered the plane. Cleone stood at the top step and saluted his men before entering the plane.

Into the skies the plane went, on its way to Camelone. The two sat in different seats but close enough to hear each other with Neromari in the window and Cleone taking the aisle seat on the opposite side.

Opening up his breviary, the Archbishop inquired before starting his prayers "So...what kind of people will we be dealing with? Frankish? Germanic? English? You know how I don't like those bunch."

"Aren't you supposed to love all God's children?" Cleone asked as he leaned his seat back about to sleep.

"Don't be a hypocrite. God doesn't like hypocrites. Besides, yes I love all peoples, but I don't have to like all peoples. That's the human in most of us, disliking things dissimilar to us."

"Well, this might get your cassock in a twist. It's an island comprised of...take your pick. Gaelics, Anglos, Norse. It's a weird mix of similar ethnicities, kind of like us, no?"

"Hmmph. 'Like us', like you maybe. Italian blood has been running through my veins since the Romans."

"Whatever old man." Cleone said before he nodded off to sleep.

Several hours later, the plane had finally touched down and they had reached it: Camelone. Woken by his stewardess, the two were escorted by their guards to meet with the Camelonean crew meeting them.

"Buongiorno, I am Cleone d'Angeli, I believe we have spoken, or I spoke to someone and it was said we'd be taken to our stay."

Alvor proffered his hand to shake, a smile illuminating his lips briefly-though quite buried beneath his thick white beard. The room was colder than what was comfortable for the normal person, but considerably warm compared to Truvaria on a normal day. A few people in the room were looking at the trio of men with a curiosity he understood quite well. It was the way someone peered at a strange new animal, or a man whose reputation preceded him. It was of admiration or fascination, more often than not it was the latter. His garb wasn't so unusual as to arouse such looks, he was wearing the same jacket that he had worn for years, grey and comfortable. They must know who the three were, there really wasn't any other reason.

"A weariness is biting at my bones and i'm nearly on death's door. I'm going blind in one eye and i have lost feeling in the pinkie of my left hand. My sons are unmarried, my heir almost thirty years old. Our plane took off thirty minutes late and we accidentally left behind one of our maidservants." The old man grumbled, eyes focused solely on Frederick. "But i'm here in Camelone to see my son in law and my daughter-and my first two magnificent grandchildren. So i would say that i am doing very well today. How are you, High King Cyneric?

Ivan drifted to Freja, letting the two Kings talk about palace intrigue-or whatever it was that Kings liked to talk about. He looked down at Freja, who peered up at him in amusement. "Don't stare, it's rude. How are you doing Ivan, it's been far too long?" Freja asked.

Ivan still had yet to get over the altercation that he had with his father in the carriage only a few minutes prior. He looked about at the Church that surrounded them. It was very Celtic in appearance, but that was to be expected wasn't it? He turned to Freja, gesturing to his father with a swish of his hand. "I'm well i suppose. Father is growing more upset every day though-he says i have to find a wife soon or he would find one for me. He doesn't understand that i want to marry for love. Don't you Freja? Didn't you marry Frederick because you loved him?"

Her face screwed up as she contemplated the question. "Well, actually i was forced to come to Camelone. I only fell in love with Frederick as i came to know him-but the circumstances of our courtship were because of father's intervention-sending me here. I think you will find love no matter who you marry, Ivan, you should just listen to father and find someone you can live with. Let love sprout from that."

Ari slipped around those who were speaking and to the two small infants that were to be baptized. He looked down at them curiously, they didn't quite resemble their mother that much-maybe a little, but they were certainly Frederick's children. Ari still couldn't believe that he was an Uncle, that the two little fellows before his eyes were his blood. It was surreal, but heartbreaking. They would be raised Camelonean-as it should be-but would be a part of House Ui-Krieger, their allegiance to the home of their father. The boys were his blood, but they weren't the same as if he or Ivan were to have kids.

He felt the familiar tinge of nationalistic pride run through him. "I hope you two become strong and hardy as you grow up. Just like your grandpa and your uncles" he mumbled to them too quietly for anyone around to hear. He straightened up and came alongside his father-who was speaking with King Frederick.

Cnoc na Teamhrach Cathedral
"Please no need to call me by my regal name Frederick is fine especially from my father-in-law." Frederick said with a smile and a wave of his hand "I thank you for the consideration though. Also I must beseech you to remember that the Lord will watch over His faithful servants and I have sincere faith that He will guide your family to overcome any of these obstacles. Your kingdom will be preserved, Camelone will always be at your side when you most need it and I say this as High King and as oathkin." Frederick sincerely stated "One day both our lines will sit on the High Kings throne, a reuniting of our people's since we drifted so far apart." As the sovereigns talked Frederick glanced over at Ari.

"Speaking of oathkin how have you been Prince Ari? I saw you made a rather large splash in the jousting tournament. Prince Ingeld had told me he was looking forward to seeing you once more. Speaking of the man." Frederick said as he noticed House Thorgest approach, the old king of Agdane still looked as strong as an ox with his white wispy hair reminding one of a painting of Odin. Next to him leaning on a cane was Prince Ingeld with a wide smile as he made his way over to the group, being permitted by due to his status as the old king took his leave elsewhere. The Prince was wearing his officers uniform of the Royal Dragoons, blue trousers and officer jacket with a red trimming, a plumed helmet with a red crest underneath his arm as a saber dangled from his hip.

"Prince Ari, a pleasure to make your acquaintance once more. How have you been?" Prince Ingeld asked curious resting slightly on his cane before realizing whose presence he was in. "Pardon me my liege I forgot my place." The Prince said bowing his head "Honor to the High King whose strength preserves the realm."

"No need for that Ingeld, you have done much to serve the High Kingdom I can look past this old friend." Frederick said before deciding to explain "Prince Ingeld discovered an attempted landing of forces from the Sons of the Raven, the group that assassinated my father, so he and his cavalry squadron equipped for scouting engaged and threw them back out into the sea capturing twice their numbers and slaying more in the battle. He acted like a true son of Camelone in the engagement leading from the front and surprising their little encampment with a cavalry charge."

"You honor me sire." Ingeld said with a bow and a sheepish smile because he knew what he did was reckless but it turned out working.

It is currently winter down in Terfelia, being that it is located within the Southern Hemisphere. With the approaching promise of a warm summer, despite a little bit of the cold, the presidential couple held a smile that held an invisible, yet tangible picture of the season's blissful paraphernalia, and arriving at the country exceeded it.

Arianwen took one look at the window, and a smile formed on her face.

"Look, my love. Isn't it beautiful," she pointed out.

"Oh, yes," Iestyn nodded with his mouth looking somewhat like a kiss, "It definitely is. And magical," he then said with a tangible, but petite, touch of happiness.

"Do try to relax, love. After all, we are away from all the annoying banter in the capital, right?"

"Yes, right," he nodded more quickly.

As the plane touched the tarmac, the couple prepared to rise up from their seats. Arianwen had eagerness glowing on her visage like pure luminescence on a candlelight, while Iestyn cleared his throat just silent enough for his spouse to not turn her face towards. The engines then fell silent, and they were off to foreign ground.

This peculiar couple continues to stroll around the small city for its rumored source of the eerie glow that word has spread throughout this foreign country. However, it is Brychan that is clearly showing more excitement than Carwen, with constant mutters that possess words of dire confidence and breaths that would make him seen by one ordinary person, even his girlfriend, as a crazy person loose from an asylum but in a more normal mask. Carwen could only keep her emotional and mental composure and her love for the poor fellow in her palms as much as possible, despite Brychan picking out any path he could find without consulting his dead phone and even her advice. Much to her elevated aggravation, she drags him to a nearby alleyway to reason with him, snapping Brychan into the more palpable realm of reality. After much apologies from Brychan, they head to a nearby cafe to relieve themselves of the rather intense charade.

Greeting the Presidential couple was an older nobleman of merry cheer and large red dimples, he was slightly overweight but not in a gluttonous way but one that spoke of a man who found many reasons to celebrate with the simple pleasures of life. His green cloak billowed in the wind slightly as he approached, a squad of Patriarch Guard's behind him, arms spread wide and a happy smile on his face. "A thousand and one happy greetings and blessings honored guests! I am Count Wilstan Kin-Athelwyn your guide to Camelone assigned by the collective wisdom of the High King and the Patriarch. If there is anything I can help you with please say so otherwise please follow me and I shall lead you to the cathedral. It is such a joyous day today, the Prince and Princess are joining the mystical body of Christ even the smiles and laughter of the ancestors can be felt in the sacred city of churches and tombs, haha!" As he said this a car pulled up and the door was opened for the Presidential couple.

Osward's Cafe
In the cafe they stepped into the activities were much more subdued in comparison to what was occurring just outside the establishments doors. A reserved atmosphere it appeared there was little in the way of conversations being had, though a hearty laugh punctured the low conversations every now and then. The shop owner was dealing with some customers in the dimly lit cafe as a patron noticed the couple and decided to speak to them. From his booth he raised his voice slightly to get their attention. "You there, teasa. You all alright?" The old man asked, he wore simple brown trousers and tunic with a white cord tied around his waist acting liking a sort of belt with one end having seven knots tied into it hanging by his side. A brown hat allowed only his face to be seen with gentle green eyes and a wrinkled face, and his cloak was in his lap. A cup of steaming coffee sat before him as he peered over at them curious and slightly concerned.

Jonathan was deep in concentration adding the finishing touches to the silver receiver of the shotgun he was working with. When the young man spoke, it broke Jonathan's deep in thought gaze and he looked up with a smile at the young man in front of him.

"Hello sir, I'm working on this piece of metal as part of my soon to be profession. As you can see, I actually have been engraving it these past couple of hours."

With that, he shook the metallic shavings from the receiver and used a piece of paper to deposit the shavings into a small vial on the table. After all, he wasn't about to waste precious silver even when traveling.

"If you don't mind me asking, what is your name? I am Jonathan McAllister of Clan McAllister of the nation known as The Chuck to many."

As he spoke, he stood up and extended his hand towards the man. Jonathan figured with the varying viewpoints on firearms to deliberately exclude the part where it was the receiver to a hunting shotgun in the conversation so far.

"Ah yes pardon my forgetfulness. My name is Marnath Nur'Aravorn, I'm from the north Cessarin country." The man said taking Jonathan's hand and shaking it. "My profession ain't to fancy to involve intricate carvings or the like. I'm just a fisherman who gets some extra work in the dockyards every now and then. A pleasure nonetheless to meet you sir." Marnath said, though his face only slightly turned into a smile but it was there. If Jonathan had heard anything about the Cessarin it would generally be the stereotype that their faces are exposed to the cold so much that they are generally frozen into place with slight variations. Stoicism and hardiness were common personality traits for these folk as well as large warm heart for those they are loyal to. "Need any help packing up there by the way?" Marnath offered as he knew the train was not going to be here forever.

"A pleasure to meet you both." Brother Seraphim said earnestly with a kind smile directed towards Bianca. "If you would follow me please we can depart at once to the cathedral. If you have any questions about anything you see please feel free to ask me for I am here at your service in the name of High King Cyneric II and the most virtuous Patriarch." He continued before he turned and began to leave the train station the Patriarch Guards forming a moving perimeter to escort the Empress out of the train station and others dispatched to grab their luggage.

Outside the train station was their ride, a simple automobile with a few motorcycles around it which the Patriarch Guards mounted. Brother Seraphim held the vehicles door open to allow the two inside.

"Thank you very much. We will be sure to ask if any questions or concerns come up. For now I think we're in good good hands. So if you'd please." she nodded allowing him to lead the way down to the vehicle that was awaiting him. The two entered the vehicle, Fine thanking as they entered. Bianca took in their surroundings to assess everything as she was trained and she could tell, they were in good hands to be sure.

Cnoc na Teamhrach
With the Empress and her bodyguard securely in the automobile they took off down the crowded and bustling streets of Cnoc na Teamhrach to the cathedral which dominated the skyline with its towering spires. Moving a little faster than a crawl the automobile pushed through the streets the shouts and orders of the Patriarch Guard's being muffled by the metal walls and bullet proof windows. Jigs, songs, fire dancing, athletic contests, and overall merriment was seen as they passed through the city and while the Patriarch Guards were well trained professionals even they were struggling to maintain the perimeter as they traveled. Thankfully Camelonean customs and taboos were able to pick up the slack where the Guards were weakening.

Coughing into his hand a little Brother Seraphim spoke up "Uh the people are rather happy at the moment so public order is being maintained mostly by our customs. There is only so much our men can do to keep the peace so we rely on the people to maintain the relative peace through the frith. While chaotic and unseemly to many it is effective and our Guards are doing a decent job at maintaining the perimeter without causing any incidents. There also is no other way to the cathedral but the streets because well it is the center of Cnoc na Teamhrach."

"I shall be at your service, just tell me when and I shall be prepared to lead you to the cathedral. I would beseech you though not to wait to long due to the fact that well the Mass will start on time regardless of your attendance." Lord Finkellson stated before bowing once more and stepping back. "I shall wait for you in the lobby." He informed them before leaving with all but one of the Patriarch Guards who took up post just outside the door.

It was a relief that he can finally take a break from all the abundance of stress, intense work, and especially the heat. He can experience once again the cold breeze of the European weather rather then the tropical heat of Haring Bayang Katagalugan. It was all almost perfect enough for it to be a vacation for Supremo Cuerpo to let go of all worries, but there are still things that bother him and most importantly, his bodyguards.

"Kailangan mo ba talaga pumunta Supremo? Dilikado po eh" asked one of Supremo Cuerpo's bodyguard.
(Translation: Do you really have to go Supremo? It's dangerous sir.)

"Eh may magagawa pa ba tayo? Nan dito na tayo. Wag ka mag alala, walang masama mangyayari. "
(Translation: Is there anything we could do now? We're already here. Don't worry, nothing bad will happen.)

Even though he said that to his bodyguard to insure him that things will all go well, he was also worried as well. He knew these people he would meet, the royal families and etc., wouldn't look at him with a positive view due to him being a leader of a socialist country and a communist party, but that shouldn't discourage him. He knew that this was a chance to give his nation a better image of itself to foreign nations. Haring Bayang Katagalugan is not some backward country. It was a nation proud of its history and the will of everyone to help each other with great education and healthcare.

"Supremo" called the bodyguard.

"Nandito na po tayo"
(Translation: We're here)

Supremo Cuerpo peered through the plane's window and saw the city form above. It was a magnificent sight. The streets could be seen filled with people cheering and celebrating the royal baptism. Even from the plane you can see the joy the people are experiencing. The sight was enough to make the Supremo excited for the baptism. As soon as plane landed at Cnoc na Teamhrach International Airport, his body guards began their protocol to insure that the delegations where there and all is safe for the Supremo to exit the plane.

"Ok na po Supremo!" said the bodyguard.
(Translation: Its ok now Supremo!)

As Supremo Cuerpo, in his military uniform, walked to the exit of the plane, he stopped. He took a deep breath for a few seconds to feel the breeze, he gave a salute to the delegation as he continued to walk down the stairs, smiled, offered his hand for a handshake, and said...

"It's a wonderful day isn't it kaibigan?"
(Translation: It's a wonderful day isn't it friend?)

OOC: The gifts are animals, 2 baby Tarsiers. So where do I put them? Do I give them to the delegation or??

Cnoc na Teamhrach International Airport
Cnoc na Teamhrach was a city of tombs so it would not be all that surprising that once more a delegation would be greeted by a Gillisaite monk, the burial shroud habit made it nearly impossible to the outlines of the monks eyes. There was nothing truly remarkable about the monk except that he looked strong underneath his shroud. "Indeed sir it is a wonderful day." The monk said shaking the Supremo Cuerpo's hand before stepping back and bowing "I am Brother Lazarus of the Order of St. Gilliosa and caretaker of the tomb of St-King Earnan Ui-Krieger the Martyr. I have been assigned to be your attache for your stay here in the High Kingdom of Camelone. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and my men can take care of any gifts you have for the royal family and can bring your luggage to your rooms. Besides that I can escort you to the cathedral." Brother Lazarus said before righting himself back up again and seeming like he was looking at the Supremo Cuerpo.

July 10,2019 | Cnoc na Teamhrach International Airport

Supremo Cuerpo was intrigued by the fact that the delegation who received him were monks. No that he has any grudge against monks, It was pretty unusual since most delegations who received him during state visits in foreign countries were mostly government officials. It was also unusual especially cause of their attire, the burial shroud, which prevents any chance for the Supremo to get a proper glimpse of the face the monk he is talking to. Nevertheless, he smiled at the monk and replied to his words...

"Well then! Seems like things are pretty much set Brother Lazarus. I'll leave our luggage and the gifts for the royal family to your men so that they can handle it! Other then that, lead the way to the Royal Baptism kapatid!"

The duo walked behind the monk to the car, it was quite an introduction to say the least. Neromari glance at his king in an almost dissatisfied look. Cleone's only response was a shrug.

"Say, Father Augustine, I might have a couple of questions: Where exactly are we staying? Where are we going now?"

Neromari leaned in towards Cleone "Ask him what's on his face." he whispered

"Come on Your Excellency, at least crack a smile. You're a prince of the Church, you should be the light of life."

"My sense of disdain for this mock is overpowering any sense of kindness I have right now."

"Ah, basta! Stay on the plane if you're gonna be like this."

The Archbishop's attention shifted from Cleone to the monk "Excuse me, Augustine, I have a question. I was under the impression they would send a guide, why did they send a hermit? Or I assume you are one, based on your...appearance."

Count Uwe von Katzeburg was known for his conservative and sometimes old fashioned style of dress, but in Camelone he looked rather modern. As he walked down the street, he took it in. The whole city seemed to be a part of the celebrations, the crowds becoming thicker and thicker as he neared the cathedral. The Foreign Minister was no expert in church architect, but appreciated them nonetheless. For him the towering edifice was more interesting in its novel forms, as more for its beauty. More like God's fortress than God's house he thought to himself as he entered. In keeping with the martial culture of the Camelonens, the ushers were of course soldiers. No pews he thought as he joined the congregation in the Nave of the Church. The festive nature of the occasion filled the Kreiser with joy. Another soul would be joining the family of Christians.

Bianca nodded "I thank you whole heartedly for making sure Her Majesty is secure. We always try to be mindful of a nation's desires and not bring an entire security entourage along. That and Her Majesty has been under extra scrutiny of late --"

"Bianca, now is not the time." Fine gently caressed her off the subject. "But I do join Bianca in showing our appreciation for sure. But now today is a happy day for a blessed event. I have two younger siblings at home, twins, boy and girl, I remember their Christening very well and what a joyful occasion it was. Quite a crazy one as my family are interfaith, Episcopal on my mother's side, Catholic on my father's side. The family agreement was the sons would be as my father's Faith and us daughters would be our mother's. That said my older sister decided to throw her own monkey wrench into that plan and went with our father." She chuckled a little. "Well as to my younger siblings, they towed the line but as they are twins we had two ceremonies on the same day and a great after celebration together."

"Excellent." Brother Lazarus exclaimed quite happy with the decision. "If you would follow me we will make our way to the cathedral." He said as the automobile arrived and he opened the door for the Supremo Cuerpo.

With the delegation loaded in they started through the crowded streets of Cnoc na Teamhrach which was full of cheer and celebration, the Patriarch Guard's struggling once more to maintain an adequate perimeter though it was being maintained. "As you can see House Ui-Krieger is well loved throughout the Camelone, ever since King Ludwig rallied the Royalists around House O'Devlin and had to be convinced by the O'Devlin High King to take the crown. We have recovered greatly from the Age of Revolution and the devastation wrought by the Red Army... do not worry we have gotten our justice and the vendetta is fulfilled so many shall not hold your ideology against you." Brother Lazarus stated making sure to not put the delegation on edge. As he said that the cathedral came into view, it's lower spires appearing like battlements and the Romanesque architecture giving a strong and permanent edifice to it.

Lux Pulchrae wrote:The duo walked behind the monk to the car, it was quite an introduction to say the least.

"I am simply a member of the Branite Orders, we are a strict ascetic religious order. The tattoos on my face show the permanence of my vocation for now I can never deny Christ and if I do my shame shall always be upon me, no matter what I am His servant. We looked to Revelations and the tattoo which is upon the thigh of Christ announcing His presence at the End Times. As for my rank I am the second most powerful man in the Apostolic Catholic Church in Camelone but not the worldwide Apostolic Catholic Church. I am of course the vicar of one of the most important churches in the country, the Basilica of the Eight Heroics." Father Augustine explained knowing full well that many clergy of Rome had a warped and skewed view of the more unique devotional practices of the Apostolic Church especially the Branite and Gillosiate orders.

"I have been assigned as your guide due to my in depth knowledge of the history of both the city itself and the Apostolic Catholic Church. It is to help bridge our differences because well as you may have guessed already we are different yet similar. Take this as an example the Roman Catholic Church is very Thomistic and Aristotelian in their theological thinking and yes St. Thomas Aquinas was an exceptional thinker but the Apostolic Catholic Church is more Augustinian and Platonic just a small example to highlight our split. But yes oh I have forgotten something." Father Augustine admitted forgetting the first question and turned to Cleone.

"You shall be staying in one of the guest manors that was constructed just for this occasion, it is just on the border of the city and if you wish we can go there first or we can immeditatly head towards the cathedral. It is your choice." Father Augustine stated.

"I thank you for the consideration and the trust that you place with the High Kingdom." Brother Seraphim stated with a genuine smile as the convoy got closer to the cathedral "That is certainly an odd set up that your parents agreed to I must say. Is Episcopalianusm and Roman Catholicism the two largest Christian traditions within your country?" The monk asked curious as he spent more time in prayer and ministering to the locals than researching the outside world, he wasn't a missionary monk but just a simple brother.

As the question floated in the air the impressive and grandiose Romanesque cathedral came into view with its battlement like minor spires and towering grand spire on top of the largest of the domes. The thick stone walls was a permanent reminder that no matter what the Church will remain and never abandon its mission, the gates of Hell will not prevail over the Church. That was the ethos evoked by the mighty cathedral, more fortress than temple to many and exactly how the Cameloneans liked to think of their Faith and Church.

"Yes, as a matter of fact, they are the two largest of the Christ faiths in Kuronami. Given our rather unique situation of two distinct spheres of civilization under one roof, Easter and Western, Kuronami never has had an official state religion which allowed many others to flourish including just about most sects of Christianity. But Catholicism and Anglicanism to be exact, managed to hold rather firm." Taking sight out the window as the Cathedral came into view. "Is that it? It's quite the sight, I must say, I'm taken away by it!"

"Ahhhh very interesting and fascinating I must say especially that Anglicanism is surviving. Are any of my brothers and sisters of the Apostolic Catholic Church in your realm that you know of?" Brother Seraphim asked curious again about Kuronami. Deciding to change the subject in regards to the cathedral which it seems the Empress wished to change to.

"Thank you for your kinds your Imperial Majesty. The Cathedral of Cnoc na Teamhrach has lasted through centuries of our history starting first as a small monastic chapel in the ruins of a razed witch city, the capital of the Olcalf. From there it was slowly built up until you see what it is that stands before you. It has a long history of weathering storms of the political nature and many sad and glorious stories as well. Shall we enter though?" The monk asked as he moved from his seat to the door of the automobile and opened it for the Empress and her guard.

"Of course we shall go there first." Father Augustine said signalling the driver to head out to the manor. "A manor is easier to secure the perimeter in a city overrun with pilgrims and celebrations than any hotel, and prevents the further straining of the cities infrastructure with said perimeter. Already it is difficult to travel in the city due to the congestion caused by such an assembly and the Patriarch Guards' are doing their best along with the reeves but there is only so much men can do." He explained the logistics of the city and the logic behind it as the car moved through the outskirts of the city towards the small manor reserved for their delegation. Already the city could be seen in its celebration, the streets crowded with people in cheer and celebration.

"Now your excellency allow me the privilege to spar with words. Yes the difference in theology was not the main cause of our split but it was a good example of our split. Also yes the emerging monarchical powers of the papacy of the early 11th century we saw as overstepping the elder brother role that St. Peter was invested in. Seeing no other means we split from Rome in protest of this overstep, as well as the filioque clause which we saw as the breaking point disregarding the input of his brother bishops well beyond that of the role of a elder brother." Father Augustine explained calmly more in an academic tone than anything emotional talking about a historical event. Moving on to the tattoos he pointed to them "This is permanent, we can not change our vocation once we have sworn to it such as how once a priest is ordained nothing will ever change that fact. It also paints a target on us, we Branite's have a long history of being at odds with our government and the powers that be, such is the danger of maintaining a position of the superiority of the golden sword over the steel sword. Especially during the Age of Revolution. The Reds headhunted us with bounties, and I mean headhunt. Also our rule is strict and uncompromising, I own nothing and I am nothing but a vessel and I pray that I am filled with the Holy Ghost instead of the corruption of man and the Evil One. Both body and soul wear these tattoos. But as I have already guessed Rome looks down their nose upon us backwards Celts like they always have, even when we were one, regardless that changes nothing it is what I presumed would be the case when I was assigned and agreed to this task. May Christ watch over and protect the little ones baptized today, for the Church, Roman, Apostolic, Oriental, and Orthodox must prepare for what is to come..." Father Augustine said trailing off with a slightly worried look as he looked out the window before his smile returned as the manor came into view.

The manor was simple enough, a manor house surrounded by some light woodlands slightly removed from the main roadway leading into the capital. It was a well built stone two store manor house with a chest high wall surrounding it and a wrought iron gate manned by more than a few tactically equipped men with various clan tartans wrapped around their waists, they were most definitely sworn gallowglass. With the gates opened the gallowglass saluted before returning to their duties and the car continued forward on the now cobblestone road. The manor house appeared to be two houses connected by a center meant lobby and entertainment building. Size wise it appeared to be rather sizable and had a nice country home feel to it. "Like I said it is merely a temporary house but we have some of the finest gallowglass stationed here, they are of the most chivalric of groups I assure you this particular band is quite like your Pope's Swiss Guard. As for the staff you have a personal cook and waiting crew as well as in the central lobby is a collection of Camelonean artwork." Father Augustine explained taking in the quiet surroundings.

"You should see my city, the capital, during major feast days and holidays. Shops closed and streets full." Cleone responded to Augustine's city dilemma.

In the ride as the monk spoke to the archbishop, he listened carefully, his eyes narrowed at Augustine's ominous words "What is to come? What is coming?" His thoughts spun and cleared his throat, quickly responding "Nothing is added or subtracted from dogma, only made clearer by revelations and better grasps in theology. It was all within Rome's right." Neromari stopped speaking and looked outside as they reached the manor and the car came to a stop. Cleone got out first and held the door for the remaining passengers. They got their luggage out and had the manor staff take them in.

"Careful please, my mass equipment is in there." the Archbishop warned as one of the staff carried a case with the necessaries for him to say a mass.

"So, Father Augustine," Cleone addressed "This whole thing is...just for us? It is quite nice, spacious too. Maybe a nice glass of wine on the balcony. Maybe you can join us eh?" a smile appeared on his face, he walked inside with the others, turning back again to Augustine "How long will this whole event take?"

"I'd have to double check with our Spirituality Ministry, but I'm certain we do have your sects present in the Empire scattered about but strong in their own communities. I can imagine this place having many stories within its walls. Yes, no sense in admiring it from a far, let's proceed on inside. Anything I should know upon entering, customs like should I be aware of so that I might show my proper respect?"

Bianca also inquired "Being a Roman Catholic myself, I don't imagine there's an issue with me crossing my own self as we enter?"

Cnoc na Teamhrach International Airport

The couple gave off a smile, perhaps for the love of how this jovial, slightly corpulent nobleman talks. Even the austere Iestyn felt uplifted, despite his eyes still expressing a different story. As they formed their words, they sauntered towards the car.

"Certainly, Count," Iestyn then said, nodding, "and may God bless them with an abundance of happiness and prosperity."

Arianwen in the meantime was looking more gleeful through her professional expression.

"Your enthusiasm amuses us, Count," Arianwen said with grace, "It should be a grand celebration we're looking forward too."

Osward's Cafe

Carwen turned to the elderly owner, displaying her radiant and vibrant Asiatic youth that seemed to illuminate the rather crepuscular, yet peaceful, environment of the cafe. Brychan, on the other hand, blended into the ambiance easily, as his face displayed a mix of soberness and despondency matched up with the attitude of the dim lights and the entire room themselves.

"Oh, yes, we're doing fine," Carwen said calmly and quickly, "Just a little tired from walking about the city," she then puts on a smile.

"Yes, and I'm dying for a drink, a chai latte in this case," Brychan chimed in his best happiness, his eyes putting in most of the effort.

"By the way, what does teasa, or however it's pronounced, mean," then asked Carwen.

CAMELONE, 10th of July—It had been Sir George's idea. Pray go to Camelone, My Lord Archbishop, he had said. Go to the baptism of the prince and princess. They are orthodox too... in a sense, as I'm sure Your Grace knows. So, here they were—the Lord Archbishop himself and his valet, sitting in a private compartment on a train to “Cnoc na Teamhrach”. Their ship had docked earlier that day, at that horrid and uncivilised time in the morning ships are liable to disgorge their help-less passengers ashore. There had been a time when the Archbishop of Sulthey would have had an entire entourage of servants and courtiers trailing after him. Alas, strangely it was no longer seen as polite to bring fifty-odd men and women ashore to tend to His Grace's household needs.

The pair of them—archbishop and valet—surely looked a queer sight to those unfamiliar with Erbonian standards of attire. The Archbishop wore a top hat, with a clerical coat buttoned at the collar and sweeping gracefully away with a stubby knee-length scarlet cassock with the charmingly domestic appellation of an 'apron', fine black breeches, gaiters and leather shoes. This was finished off by the de rigeur clerical collar and bands. His valet, Sir Gordon Lede, wore a black morning coat, grey trousers and bowler hat, with wing collar and black tie—the dress of nearly every professional valet in the country.

“Lovely country Camelone,” the Archbishop said.

“Indeed My Lord.”

They passed the journey in silence, as was their wont. Lede busied himself with letters of assurance that they had arrived safely, to be telegrammed to the Government upon arrival. His Grace preferred to look outside as the unfamiliar yet pleasant countryside rolled past at high speed. At noon, the valet brought out a black bound Book of Liturgy. He turned carefully the thin pages to the correct pages, and the pair sung the office for Sext, beginning with the versicles and hymn, Rector potens verax Deus, followed by portions of Psalm 119 beginning at Deficit in salutare, the Chapter, the Benedicam Dominum and ending with the versicles, responses and Pater noster.

They finished just before they arrived at Cnoc na Teamhrach. Lede opened the compartment door, and the Archbishop stepped into the cool, summer air of the Cnoc na Teamhrach railway station.

Camelone wrote:"Of course we shall go there first." Father Augustine said signalling the driver to head out to the manor.

"Indeed, the High King has a large number of holdings that he uses for foreign diplomats and delegations. This was originally built to be a retreat house for a no longer existing noble House who had the idea of attempting to assassinate the Protestant High King during the unsuccessful Protestant Revolution, things did not end well for them. Regardless after that it became the property of the High King to function as a diplomatic manor." Father Augustine explained the manor's history briefly before he responded to the second part. "I would of course be honored to join you and I do believe the Mass itself should take around two hours, perhaps less, and afterwards things will depend on how long you wish to stay at the reception. Those tend to go all through the night, and then of course there is the joust, tournament melees, shooting and archery contests, and wrestling that will be occurring as well... once this is all done I can not wait for the city to become one of pilgrims and priests again."

Cnoc na Teamhrach International Airport
"Of course the celebration should be grand! There is nothing more beautiful than the prayers and chants of a Patriarchal solemn high Mass, especially one for the baptism of two new members of House Ui-Krieger. The entire country had been worried the blood House of Ui-Krieger was going to die out, a House that has been a leader in Camelone since the time that the Olcalf spread their demonic magic across the land. I have heard rumors that the feast shall also be of some of the finest food and drink in the High Kingdom, my chaplain has even given me a dispensation from my fast!" Count Wilstan said still excited at the prospect as the car began driving away and the Patriarch Guards followed and created a perimeter with their motorcycles.

It wouldn't be long before the celebrations in the streets of Cnoc na Teamhrach could be seen, mostly because they were driving towards the center of the city to the cathedral. Through the secured walls and windows of the car sounds of music and cheers could be heard as dances could be seen in a few courtyards and forums. The many statues and large preaching crosses were surrounded by waves of people caught up in the sheer joy of the city and country at large.

"As you can see the people of Camelone have already begun to celebrate, I think I even saw a Gillisaite monk relax for once."

Osward's Cafe
With a nod the old man began to get to work as he also talked with the couple "Aye, I can see how things get a little tiring out there. Seems even the souls of the dead and dancing in merriment. People have even said they even saw the Bold Prince walking about without the noose around his neck." He said as he was making the drink. "Oh as for teasa the word is pretty much outlander, foreigner, and other such synonyms. Pretty much anyone who is not a Camelonean, most use it as a way to differentiate such as I. Ain't an insult don't worry about that, just a descriptor." He explained before setting the drink before the couple. "You sure you are alright lad? You don't have the look of man that is truly tired by physical exhaustion."

To greet the Archbishop was a Brandinite monk with a squad of Patriarch Guards, the monk was a young man and his brown monastic robes hung loosely around him, held in place by his white cincture. His hair was in the Brandinite tonsure and the way he stood and held himself was that of a man who was full of energy and strength for the things he held dear, in this case Christ and His Church. Tied around his cincture was a beautifully engraved rosary that his hand gripped and moved from bead to bead ever so often.

"Your excellency it is the greatest of honors to meet you. I am Brother Malachi of the Brandinite Orders and custodian of the Shrine of St. Edward. I have been assigned by the High King and the Patriarch to be your guide for your time in Camelone, if you have any questions please ask me and I shall endeavor to answer to the best of my abilities. We can head to the cathedral immediately if it so be your wish." Brother Malachi said with a bow before righting himself upright once more.

"Well, I kind of meant the whole event but I got a good summation." Cleone walked around the manor, trying to get familiar with it and greeting whatever staff he happened to meet. He met back with the clerics "So, I'll take a quick shower then we can all head to the cathedral, and I can finally meet this king of yours."

"Don't drown, or waste the hot water." he bowed his head in a nod

"I cold shower!" could be heard from a distance as Cleone made his way to his room.

Neromari made his way to the living room(or the manor's equivalent), sitting down on a couch, leaning back, he took his hat off, still wearing his zucchetto. Looking around he saw the paintings on the wall, reminded of his own in his quarters. He asked for a glass off water, one of the staff gladly fetched him one. "Va bene, Augustine, 'second most powerful cleric in Camelone', why is such a burden bestowed onto a monk? Is the Patriarch your abbot as well, or however it is named? I am still trying to understand this church of yours."

“Hmmm...” the Archbishop thought. “Excellency has a nice ring to it.”

“Brother Malachi, is it? I am the Archbishop of Sulthey, Primate of Erbonia. Pray, lead on.”

As they followed the monk, a porter grappled with a number of trunks behind them. The Patriarch Guards seemed to be a somewhat odd missive for a Father in God, and they had expected a somewhat elder guide.

“Brother, I am not acquainted with the Brandinite Orders; is it a mendicant order? I am afraid that there are not a great many friars or monks, lay or choir, in the Church of Nortend... God has granted us many more choir nuns and lay sisters. Out of the more than 600 religious foundations in Erbonia, less than a quarter are male. Still, we must be grateful for what the Lord grants us. I have heard little about the Apostolic Catholic Church—what is your theology?”

"Very good then, let's proceed."

"Right."

The two women with the company of the monk entered into the cathedral. Inside was just as beautiful as outside, Fine removed her red hat and took the time to quickly admire everything. Bianca did the motions she was raised with and always did in any House of God. She kept her vigilance of course but also gave prayer wishing blessings upon the young children about to be Christened. Fine bowed her head in respect a quick silent prayer also wishing the same blessings and good will for the Prince and Princess and their family. What a special event.

"I am in a rather unique position within the Church hierarchy as the Basilica is one of the, if not the most, important of the Camelonean churches. My Patriarch is my direct superior and spiritual guide, I have also been freed from any duties or loyalties to abbots. I am still a member of my order but outside of it. It gets rather complicated because the Basilica is of such great importance that no one but the Patriarch is the superior. As for how I was decided on, well the vicar of the Basilica is chosen by lot from among the monks appointed by the bishops. Each bishop writes the name of their choice on a sheet of paper and place it within a jug at the foot of the altar in the Cathedral in front of everyone. Than the Patriarch draws the name out and they are appointed the vicar of the Basilica. I had the burden thrusted upon me by such a system. It is the only parish which is done so in Camelone. I am unaware if it is done elsewhere in the Apostolic Church though." Father Augustine said as he sat down across from Neromari. "As for the Apostolic Catholic Church we aren't that different except we didn't have to suffer through the modern iconoclasm of your Novus Ordus Mass and Vatican 2. I trust you are one of the good prelates left in your Church. We also are a sacramental and experiential Church focusing on both while from what I can gather Rome is more along the lines of sacramental and scholastic." He continued as he looked at the paintings around the room. The classical arts never truly died in Camelone and all the paintings were of a more romanticist persuasion of all aspects of human life.

"We prefer evangelist order, we surely have a mendicant wing to our Order but we had been established long before the Franciscans and Dominicans developed the mendicant order. It is certainly a brilliant idea so some of our brothers adopted it, and the sisters are great servants of the poor. We have almost always been the storm troopers of the spread of the Apostolic Catholic faith across the globe establishing monasteries wherever we go. Any servants of God are truly a blessing, especially when it brings life to the Church." Brother Malachi explained as they approached a vehicle for their travel into Cnoc na Teamhrach.

"As for our theology I would say we are Augustinian with Platonic influences emphasizing a union between the sacraments and pious experience. There is a part of our Church which holds beliefs which are rather close to Arminianism but generally we hold a rather strong strain of Catholicism and Orthodox influence."

That is just one of countless stories that the walls of this cathedral has played witness to." Brother Seraphim explained before moving on to answer the question "Nothing that I can think of that you shouldn't already know from your own background and yes you may cross yourself, I certainly will not stop you from praying." The monk said with a friendly chuckle before they began to enter the inside of the cathedral.

"Would you like to be acquainted with High King Cyneric II and Queen Freja? I can lead you to them if it be your wish." Brother Seraphim offered after crossing himself, making sure to keep his voice low so that he would not prove to be a distraction for any of the people around him who were praying. The cathedral had a soft buzz of noise to it due to the large amount of people who were clustered together, it was still quiet enough though with the chorus of chants and prayers rising above any other noise that was being produced. The incense drifted around as people went about doing their own things, some going to the side chapels to join in on the low Masses which were being said there, others venerated some of the icons throughout the cathedral, and others simply whispered to one another.

“Quite interesting. How long will it take to get to your cathedral? I'm afraid I have no idea when the baptism is scheduled.”

The Archsbishop and Lede seated themselves in the vehicle and soon they were off, driving down the rumbling roads of Cnoc na Teamhrach. In the distance, they saw the spire of the cathedral towering over the city, an apparent few miles away.

As they drew nigh to the cathedral, the Archbishop noticed the massed crowds of Cameloneans, clearly jubilant in their celebrations for the baptism.

“If only we got this same turnout for my christenings!”

Brother Malachi grinned at the Archbishop's exclamation about the size of the crowds attending and celebrating the royal baptism. "We do have the advantage when it is the perfect combination of the Patriarch baptizing the twins of High King Cyneric II of whose house, Ui-Krieger, was close to being wiped out in the blood. It truly is a beautiful sight when the Orders of Society function so beautifully together. Now shall we enter the cathedral your excellency?" The monk asked as he opened the door after the automobile parked in front of the Romanesque fortress like cathedral.
