This is a (hopefully improved) reboot of another RP.

Hugoland is an autonomous region of Maguzapach. Hugoland has its own democratic government, in contrast to Maguzapach, which was, until recently, a republic run more by technocrats then democratically elected officials. Hugoland then had a status similar to Hong Kong and became the wealthiest part of Maguzapach.

Early this month, a coup was launched that created an Empire. The new Emperor Melchior has set about reorganizing the state. Most important to this thread is the relationship between Hugoland and the new Empire.

Negotiations between the two governments are breaking down, especially as refugees from Maguzapach have mostly fled to Hugoland.

The President of Hugoland, Baom, has begun organizing his paramilitary forces for a defense, while still trying to find a comprise. Meanwhile Imperial forces mobilize towards Hugoland.

Guiding Principles for Role Playing:

Balance and proportion: This isn't about steam rolling an invasion. Try to create balances with how many troops you send and which side you support. Also, your nation should try and win while minimizing costs.

Pacing Your posts should advance the story, but not too much. Important is to look at what others are doing. If everyone else is still giving ultimatums, don't jump ahead and attack.

Cooperation and Communication These two things are very important for this rp to work, please discuss things OOC.

Could you post a map and a demographic overview of your nation as a general initial reference?

And could you describe the circumstances of Melchiors coup in more detail?

Interesting. Might I recommend that you put everything other the word against in parenthesis? Easy to confuse for some

Sign me up - Ourisio normally remains non-interventionist in international relations but a democracy being tread on by a larger power without provocation is going to echo at home.

Do you have any objections to Ranger "advisors" backed by the Air Defence Force coming in to help out?

I am not sure about being able to make a map. What demographic details do you want?

Melchior is trained as a lawyer and was working to clean up the government. As he began began to investigate higher ups as well as vocalize criticism up the entire system, especially its progressive values, his opponents plotted to arrest him. A paperwork war with both sides filing complaints and injunctions against the other. Finally, an arrest warrant for Melchior was issued. However, having already anticipated it, the future Emperor working with the military, avoided arrest and instead arrested his opponents. Rumors on the street that Melchior was arrested, led to protests, and the Council building was stormed. The mob captured the Council, while Melchior and the military talked the security forces over to their side. After that, the revolution was announced.

That sounds like a good idea. Perhaps you could post sending the offer to Hugoland?

Mostly how large the population is

90 Million is the population of Maguzapach, including Hugoland. Hugoland is 12 million people.

As a political junkie and N&I RP Mentor, I really like the premise on which this RP concept is based and found your introductory post enjoyable to read. I am interested in joining, though of course, I would need to spend some time coming up with valid in-character reasons for the Imperial Federation to get involved. I also tend to RP with semi-locked stats and the like as I tend to find NS stats unwieldy for writing purposes (one reason is that they create too much stuff to keep track of at any given time). Let me know if you are interested at all in having someone like me join in at some point or another.

That is good to know. There are two more matters I would like to broach before moving forward. The first is geography. War RPs are hard to do without good maps because it is hard to keep track of where everybody has their stuff without one. There is a reason why people say a picture is worth a thousand words! As someone who had done war RPs before, I strongly recommend making a map and posting it at the top of this thread.

The other issue I want to bring to your attention is your story. Although your introductory post is well-written and fun to read, it does not cover much ground plot-wise, which is probably why Nibelungen had to ask you about the circumstances of the coup. I think it would be wise on your part (as the RP host) to add more information to your opening IC post before anybody else starts posting. Of course, this whole RP is your show and I cannot make you run it any way other than the way you want to run it, so I will honor whatever decisions you make going forward.
