A new viral video trend has emerged recently in Winst dubbed "The Hometown Challenge". The viral trend originated from a post by actor Michael Lerux lipsyncing to the song Home by BTS. In the video, Lerux dances around Winst from the movie sets of Iré to the shores of Portland pointing out both the good and bad of what makes Winst his home. In it, there are comical scenes surrounding Wintonian snobbiness towards its beloved loaves of bread, meats, and fruits, as well as tongue in cheek references to the banking industry.

Lerux's video turns far more critical near the end with some harsh criticism of the strict family structure for many in Winst ending the video with an homage to Donovan Paige's signature political message surrounding L’Orphelin de Guinst. Lerux has been very vocal about his support of the L’Orphelin de Guinst movement and the damage done by the rigid if informal mainstay of Wintonian society.

Since the release of the video on Thursday, numerous people have copied the video's premise to talk about their own towns and nations. Some lend a critical lens towards the woes of their society like Lerux's original, while others have been used to promote the image of their home town or nation.

What has been your favorite video? Tell us in the comments below, and don't forget to subscribe for more cultural news coming out of Iré.

The Most Important News For The Wealthiest Of Tribes

Following the rise of the popular Hometown Challenge 'meme' in Lira, local Afada online entertainer Nonhlanhla has sparked controversy emulating the Wintonian trend with a scathing attack on the treatment of the Ukulala in Indaphakem. The original video, featuring Wintonian actor Michael Lerux parading himself across notable Wintonian landmarks pretending to sing along with baffling music was seen by some in Indaphakem and Insikaphezulu and met with confusion and derision. Not so Nonhlanhla, who claims to have been inspired by the format, believing that the combination of good humoured up-tempo positivity is a good tool to reflect on darker issues in society without immediately causing views to disengage with the subject matter. In an interview with The Chronicle she said. "I really believe there's a sickness in the Gcabashe and Iziduko lands, we spend most of our time engrossed in our own worlds along the pearl district and the archway. We don't notice what's happening out in the warrens. We behave like we've cultivated a nest of rats around our ankles, but so long as they don't bite, we can safely ignore them. Well, they're not rats, they're people, and they have stories to tell, just like we do."

Nonhlanla's video was taken down this morning by the Imperial censors, but has been re-uploaded by users both in and outside of Golidamanzi in defiance of the take-down order from Kudomoya Afada Administrators. The video depicts a series of scenes from the Indaphakem slums, or 'warrens', some of them recorded with Nonhlanla on screen, lip-syncing with the background music. Others are clearly shots with a hidden camera, showing circumstances such as Two Impi flogging an Ukulala for inappropriately addressing an Afada, an Ufudu fishermen on the ground being kicked by an Afada shaman for unknown reasons, and other examples of corporal punishment being meted out for caste behaviour infractions. Most notable was the scene in which a young Impi Elder Partner, believed to be Elder Gcabashe's fourteenth son, Linda Gcabashe, shooting an Ukulala who laid a hand upon his shoulder unexpectedly.

Following the take down order for the video, all videos related to the 'Hometown Challenge' have been subjected to extensive censorship scrutiny in Golidamanzi, and many more take downs are expected over the coming few days.

Typical millenials, blindly copying bourgeoisie Liran trends without any respect. Your grandparents died to be free of the spectacle, and here we are, immersing ourselves in it anyway.
