The Huterric Union is a nation founded by the principles of freedom, equality, and unity for all its citizens. We were founded with the idea that all people have the intrinsic right to "form their own futures and fight their own battles", as our constitution sees it. We, for the most part, apply this to other nations. Though we pride ourselves in making sure the voice and rights of every Huterric citizen is heard and valued, we respect that other nations may not align with our values. While we obviously prefer to associate with nations that align with our values, and we treat these nations better than others, we respect that some values we see as basic human rights may not be so elsewhere.
However, on the topic of slavery, that respect ends. There is no positive argument for anybody, regardless of identity, to be enslaved and kept in brutal conditions with no pay, no food, and no liberty to form a life of their own. We speak from experience. Slavery in the north of our great nation saw the prolonging of the civil war that lead our nation built on human rights to form. We speak from the bottom of our hearts: No nation that can endorse such a degrading, dehumanising, self-serving concept such as slavery can ever see the benefits of the Union.
It is for this reason that we ban any nation that enforces slavery from exporting their goods to Huterrica, and we won't export to you. We cannot allow our citizens to consume products with the blood of several people's livelihoods on its hands. Nor can we endorse fuelling a nasty system formed on the principle of one group of people being lesser than another. Liberty is for all, regardless of identity. Regardless of background. Regardless of their world views. Whether or not someone is entitled to liberty is entirely based on the good of their character. And we as a nation seek to preserve that

On a more positive note, the Huterric Union wishes to take part in any organisation that challenges and speaks for freedom and diversity. We want to take a lead role in making sure this happens. We as a nation appluad the Pan-Asiatic States for their courage to speak up, and we shall definitely seek a form of friendship with them in the future.
It is sad in this day and age that some humans are seen as lesser than others based on their identity. For as long as Huterrica remains we shall work to ensure that all living creatures within our borders are valued. May this be an open letter to all: Without argument, freedom shall always win in the end.
This has been an open letter by M. L. Longton, current President of the Huterric Union
