Indeed the food had an aroma that exudes an aire of excellence about it, and this was just the starter course!, each dish was placed by its relevant diner by the embassy catering staff. atop the upper gallery, a door opened and a hand gestured prompting Walace to head over to the person for he was about to get a 3 course meal of his own, cat sized portions of course.

Penny recieving her meal was also handed some sliced bread and a pair of chop sticks ready for her main course when she orders it, Penny turned to Joani, "they've given my life back at a price and I'm not talking dollar value, there is sometimes that dull throbbing sensation that sometimes is reluctant to go away, but thats another story altogether",

Penny moved her prosthetic limg so Joani could examine it,

"the arm itself is generally good but some of the lighter weight polymer parts have been problematic, gears stripping so they were replaced as an on going development process. The legs have been a bit more reliable. Sensors in the sockets that surround my remaining flesh have sensors built in them, they detect neural impulses as you are probably aware when your brain tells your hand to do something, a small electrical signal fires off from the brain to the relevant muscle which moves your hand, instead of a nerve going to the hand or the feet, its a small electrical wire that goes to a small microprocessor which in turns sends another signal one of the various motors in the arm to operate what needs to move" explains Penny, trying to be as polite as possible, there are diners present and some have power and influence and putting the first lady off her meal really wouldn't go down well so Penny is trying to be as sensitive as she can.

"the legs also have shock absorbers in them as well, partly to protect the knees but also the residual limb that remains, they can also go into passive walk mode, meaning that they simply swing without receiving any command signal. or I can manually switch them into standby mode with a remote fob to preserve battery power, however clever they may be, running blades or natrual legs they aint"

Joani listened to Penny explain the overview of how her robotic arm and legs functioned, along with listing its limitations and problem areas, and she was positively hanging on Penny's every word, totally fascinated by the conversation. When Penny stopped speaking, Joani replied,

"Wow! That is some fascinating and ingenious technology. I understand that it obviously has its limitations, but I'm sure it is a step into the right direction. Me and my husband regularly finances private tech companies which attempts to create products which attempts to better peoples lives.. Speaking off, if you find that you require a repair or maintenance or anything down that lines, feel free to make contact with my brother. He is the head engineer at Aurentius Technologies Ltd.. I will ensure that he makes time for you if you require it.."

I smiled at the remark - clearly, that guy had never eaten me Mam's Stobhach!
But not many people did that and Mam always was the best cook, no question asked, so she was a bit outside of the competition.
"Alright, Paradizo Beach, Empire Mall and the Grand Bazaar - got ya!", I said with a nod, "Sounds interesting, so I'll check them out, thank you. So, any other recommendations?"

"Well I dont know what yer looking for exactly lass.. But whatever ye feel like, the city surely can meet yer needs. Once ye find a craving for something specific, any local would be able to point ya in the right direction. And if ye are feeling frisky, hit up the local tourism office, they offer excellent tours of all kinds of themes."

Just as he finished speaking, he brought the car to a halt, right in front of the Wheelhouse Hotel.

"Well, I came here for non-material reasons, not for material reasons," Philia answered. "I wanted to be free and individual, whether I became rich or poor. This is what I never really could, I mean, I was not even allowed to wear clothes in Sophistan."
She paused.
"Oh, Adam Smith was a philosopher who had probably created individualism, and his basic tenet was that if everyone is themselves, society will prosper the most." She thought for a moment and was surprised that somehow she thought Smith was worshiped here as Plato in Sophistan. "We have never taken his books in class, but there is a library in which only members of the highest caste may enter, but me and ... my boyfriend"
Her eyes dropped again and a hint of sadness came to her face, at the same time it seemed to blush.
"He and I broke into this library a couple of times, stealing and reading controversial books, Adam Smith was one of them."

Empire Mall
Philia & Emily

Emily paused and nodded. She realised now that this poor girl was not chasing wealth, only liberty. This she could understand - and respect. She also noticed the hint of sadness when she spoke of her boyfriend, whom she obviously left behind, thus decided not to push the topic. When Emily explained who Adam Smity was, her memory was refreshed. She never really excelled in school, so these things were easy to forget, but she remebered him faintly as being a scottish philosopher, nicknamed as the 'Father of Economics'. She smiled softly and nodded once more as the duo entered one specific very large clothing store, with thousands of clothes on display. Her smile widened, "Okay dearie - lets get you some clothes!"

Just at the right time, he stopped the car, right in front of what I knew was the Wheelhouse - it looked nice.
"Thank you for your kind recommendations.", I said and turned slightly, pulled out my wallet. "So, how much do I owe you? And, that's a bit of an embarrassing question, would it be considered rude to give tips?"
The latter was an important question, as I did not want to be rude to him and such things where handled differently all over the world. At the same time, if he didn't take a tip, I already had something in mind to express my gratitude...

Empire Mall - Philia und Emily
Emily paused and nodded. She realised now that this poor girl was not chasing wealth, only liberty. This she could understand - and respect. She also noticed the hint of sadness when she spoke of her boyfriend, whom she obviously left behind, thus decided not to push the topic. When Emily explained who Adam Smity was, her memory was refreshed. She smiled softly and nodded once more as the duo entered one specific very large clothing store, with thousands of clothes on display. Her smile widened, "Okay dearie - lets get you some clothes!"

Philia decided that Emily is a good person, even if she tried to hide it somehow. As the two entered the clothing store, their eyes began to twinkle. This place was a perfect example of freedom of choice. Philia could take clothes that she liked and nobody could stop her. Whether black, white, colorful or plain, it was now in her hands. Actually, however, she had to admit that she had never bought clothes before, and had no feeling for it at all.
A touch of uncertainty filled Philia.
"Thank you," Philia began to speak. "What clothes are we looking for, I have never worn any, except as a child, I do not know what is what."

Waterstad Tour -- Finja & Oakki
Finja and Oakki thanked for the orange juice. Oranges did not grow in Draycora, making freshly squeezed orange juice relatively expensive, most of which was not available at the grocery store. The orange juice, which you could get in the supermarket, was quite bitter and not fresh. The young couple drank the juice as from the white beach, looking at the blue sea.
Finja rested her head on Oakki's shoulder, he put his arm around her back.
"It's beautiful here," Finja said in Finnish, her voice revealing the singing character of this language. "You have done very well, my darling".
"I thought you would love the tropics," Oakki replied. "The sea has a very different character than the Elvish beaches, and it symbolizes the freedom that connects Port Ember and Draycora".
"You're a romantic, sweetie," said Finja, and the two kissed deeply.
