Old Harbour House
Finja and Oakki

The building that the tour group entered was in the face of the nineteenth century. This style of furniture is still popular in Draycora, especially among the middle-class population. For the fresh Elvish couple, the old exhibits of the paintings and records were fantastic. They were like a portal from our time to the past.
When questions were asked, Finja raised her hand. Finja always has questions, Oakki thought. She seems to recognize small details in the stories that remained hidden from me.
"A little question," began Finja. "You mentioned Gazetown, which was founded with this building, what has become of this town?".

Waterstad Harbour
Philia & Emily

The captain and the lady who introduced herself as Emily began to speak in a foreign language. Philia did not know what language it was. It sounds somehow Mediterranean, almost like the Latin, which some people spoke in her homeland.
She felt a bit marginalized and out of place. Are they just arguing because of her? After a while of conversation Emily spoke again to Philia and held out her hand.
Philia swallowed. Emely had taken her, a stone fell from her heart.
"Thank you, Emliy," she said, taking Emely's hand.

Emily took the outstretched hand of Philia, and pulled softly, indicating that she should rise. When she stood, Emily walked over to the Captain and gave him a soft kiss on his cheek, and started walking away from him, still holding the hand of Philia, pulling her softly.

The old captain flashed a smile and offered a feint wave, before speaking softly in his deep voice, "Go well Philia. Emily will take good care of you, and I will visit you once I return from my impending voyage."

Emily led Philia down and off the vessel, and led her towards the waiting vehicle. A suited man opened the door for the girls, who climbed in back. The door was closed once both were seated comfortably in the back, and the driver climbed in behind the wheel. Emily immediately addressed him, "Edward, kindly cancel all my remaining meetings for the day. I have a new priority to sort out.. And while we are at it, take us to Empire Mall." Edward replied swiftly and firmly, only acknowledging with a simple head nod and "Yes mam.".

Emily turned to Philia, "This is Edward, my driver. A reliable and trustworthy fellow. In the event of my absence, consider him my avatar. We are now off to the mall. You are now in the inner circle of Emily Hunter - you need to dress the part."

Orcadian Embassy - presidential table

Ian waited for the president to order his drinks before turning to the waiter
"one glass of rum please" he says before turning to Nick,

"ah yes, one Port Emberan white wine please" asks Nick,

"two coffees please, we're driving tomorrow morning" states Penny, who being a triple amputee doesn't drink much in the way of alcohol, less so now that she has a job, and Evan tends to only drink if he is not driving within the next 24 hours, and besides that, the husband of the embassador's daughter being pulled for DUI, oh how the press would have a field day given he's the husband of a Salty!

With the orders taken, the waiter nodded and made his way to the kitchen to get the orders whilst the band began to play some soft jazz music which gets puts a smile on Penny's face as she too is musically talented and it is known back in Greater Orcadia that she has also travelled to a certain beer festival in Neu Engollon. Wallace however had by now curled up in a ball underneath Nick's seat.

"After this trip dad, we'll have to have a look at the historic places in Port Ember" comments Penny, talking to Nick

"ah yes, maybe the old plantation house would be a place to start...." replies Nick "...would you agree, Mr President?"

Orcadian Embassy
Presidential Table

The President smiled as Prime Minister Ian ordered a glass of spiced rum. There is no better way to fall in love with Port Ember than tasting Port Ember, and its famous spiced rum was the symbolic taste of the island nation.

The orchestra started playing some soft jazz music, which made the president cringe lightly. He hated the sound of jazz. Indeed the President realised the amount of skill and talent required to play it well, which he admired, yet he could not personally bare the sound of it. He forced himself to put up a soft smile and pretend that it did not bother him - there was no need to be rude about such a trivial matter.

Nick continued to mention that he and Penny would like to do some sight seeing, and considered starting at the Old Plantation House, and asked the President's advice on this, to which he replied, "Oh yes indeed! The atmosphere and history on display there is legion. We still consider the Old Plantation House as the symbol of Port Emberian Industrial Strength. The sugar cane harvested there was the first of its kind whom was responsible in brewing the amazing rum the world has come to love from our island."

Joani, the First Lady turned to Penny, "We would love to get to know you better dear. You and your husband is a true and living inspiration, and it would be amazing to spend time together. You and your husband are always welcome at our Presidential Penthouse, to join us for a quite informal supper."

The female tourguide smiled widely and was gratefull for a good question, [i]"Excellent question mam, great attention to detail. The awnser is a simple one - the city was named Gaztown on its formation, and it remained as such until 1950. In 1950, when Port Ember gained its independance from Greater Orcadia, and the Republic of Port Ember was formed, the new government renamed Gaztown to its modern name of Port Ember Megalopolis.

Emily pulled Philia out of the ship. It was not aggressive or painful, but still dominant. The captain waved after her and said goodbye. "Thanks, for the help," she said to the captain, not knowing if he still heard it.
Emily and Philia got into a car, a man in a suit drove this vehicle. It felt weird for Philia to drive in a car. In Sophistan, there were no cars, they were banned because they were dirty, loud and dangerous. That's what they said. So it's the first time for Philia to be driven and it felt scary to glide across the floor so fast. Emily introduced the driver as Edward, he was the deputy to her. The two girls would now go to a mall, she explained, where they would buy something so that Philia would fit into the inner circle. Philia knew the concept of malls from stories. As a temple or sanctuary of the individualists, these huge shopping centers were called. Of course, only propaganda again. There was something similar in Polis, but much smaller and state-run. The phrase 'Inner Circle of Emliy Hunter' made Philia feel uncomfortable.
"Well, I do not actually have any clothes on except for those I'm wearing," Philia said. "But what kind of inner circle is that?"

as Joani offered her invite, Penny smiled with her reply, "that would be an honour, we will have to try and fit that in some time though depends what our work schedule is like but we would love to"

Evan turned to Penny and Joani, "we could do that when the Scania goes in for a repaint and service",

"well, mr President, I think that could be arranged for Penny and Evan, Penny has a great interest in history, she is also a good singer too" replied Nick to Presdident Flint

"dad, it hasn't got me a record deal yet though" jokes Penny

"put Penny, you went down well in Neu Engollon at their beer festival" replied Nick, "and when you did that show in Tokyo whilst on holiday"
(it is a little known fact that Phenom Snyder aka "Penny" also speaks Japanese and loves Manga! - she sung the song "waiting for you" in Neu Engollon in Japanese!")

"yeah but dad, Sinfoni Deo went down better with the Neu Engollonian's than waiting for you,"

It wes at this point, less than 5 minutes after the drinks were ordered that the waiter came along delivering the drinks to their relevant consumers, Penny smiled, "thanks" she said to the waiter, placing her hot cup of coffee on the table where she could hold it with her natural hand, her cybernetic replacement may be relatively dexterous, however she doesn't particularly trust it to hold a cup as it doesn't have much in the way of grip strength.

Once everyone had their drinks, Nick looked over to the President,
"I believe a toast is in order, to strengthen our diplomatic relations?" he asks

"Well, I do not actually have any clothes on except for those I'm wearing," Philia said. "But what kind of inner circle is that?"

Empire Mall
Philia & Emily

As the girls were seated in the comfortable backseats of the luxury vehicle, the 'new car smell' was overwhelming and a welcoming smell to Emily. She did however notice the worry in the eyes of her new companion. She suddenly realised that this was most probaly the first time ever that Philia have driven in a car before, as she have heard about the total bam on cars in Sophistan where Philia hails from. She pitied the girl, yet decided yo to broach the subject, not wanting to insult her or make her pity clear. Philia would have to get used to traveling with a car quickly - the city was just too massive not to travel by car.

She listened to Philia give her reply, that she only had one pair of clothes to wear, so she misunderstood her intent, and ask her about the 'inner circle' statement, seeing the worry on her young beautifull face.

Emily smiled softly and replied, "The Inner Circle is just a silly label. Basically what I mean is that I have taken you in.. You are now directly associated with me. When people see you, they will see you as kin to me.. and I have a status to uphold you see, so you need to look the part.. And worry not - I have deduced that you lack extra clothes.. thus we came here to the mall, to purchase you an entire wardrobe." Emily maintained her smile and even extended her hand to Philia, in an attempt to comfort her in her understandably confusing environment.

The vehicle arrived at the mall - a MASSIVE building, 5km wide and four stories high. This was the largest shopping mall in the entire Northern Ocean region, with more than 800 stores. The vehicle pulled up to the mall but went underground, and came to a standstill in the packed underground parking space.

Joani smiled as Penny agreed to the offer to dine with the presidential family, when schedules permit. Getting two families together for supper was always hard in Port Ember due busy schedules, and even more so when they are families who are busy with distance driving and running the country!

Joani overheard Ian speaking to her daughter about her hobby of being a singer, and that she performed during the large Beer Festival in Neu Engollon before. Joani weighed in, "Oh that is wonderfull! The Navy Day Festival is approaching, you could always perform there? As a bonus, Port Emberians would appreciate a japanese song, as we share a historical bond with the japanese."

As the drinks arrived, the President smiled. He enjoyed the occassional Port Emberian Rum. He was no acoholic, yet this world renowned rum was too good to completely abstain from.

When Nick proposed a toast, Edward thought it a brilliant idea, and without a word, rose from his seat. He continued to stomp on the table with his fist, making quite the noise and attracting the attention of all involved, and the entire hall fell silent in a moment, realising that the President wished to speak. Once there was sufficient silince, the President spoke, speaking with a deep and loud voice, "Friends, appologies for yet another interuption. I know you are by now sick of speeches after an entire day of it, so I promise this one to be short and sweet. All I wish to say is that we have welcomed Greater Orcadia into our homes in an official capacity, but now we can welcome them to our homes as friends, in true Port Emberian fashion - with a ice cold rum, music and joy! Thus I offer a toast.." The President lifted his glass high above his head, "To a bright future!"

Orcadian Embassy - Orcadians with the president
Penny wasn't expecting Edward Flint to bang on the table and so gave a notable flinch! probably brought on sub consiously from when she got shot up in the USA, however the hall had quickly fallen silent thanks to one large fist hitting an oak table

"...to a bright future" called the President, the crowd responded by clinking glasses and cups, for Penny and Evan are drinking coffee rather than alcoholic beverages, mainly for they will be driving in the morning, however their glass cups get in on the action too.

"TO A BRIGHT FUTURE!, HURRAH!!!!!!" bellowed the crowd none of whom were actually in key with eachother but they certainly had the spirit.

"you okay Penn?" asked Nick, seeing his daughter flinch

"yeah, I'm fine, just slightly startled, thats all, nothing serious"

"okay" replied Nick with a smile.

Ian, sipping his drink smiled approvingly "im sure this will go down nicely down London way" he says to the table in general, before turning to Penny and Evan, "you guys not drinking?"

"nah, for one, I have not got the body mass or blood volume that you have after loosing both legs and an arm, dont forget my legs are amputated just above the knee and my arm here is missing from half way above the elbow after being shot up in the states so drinking half a pint for me is like you drinking two or three pints, and given I am expected to be working tomorrow I gotta ensure that I am totally sober, remember your chauffeur on his way to pick you up last year?" replied Penny, taking a sip of her coffee, "being busted for DUI, the papers would have a field day!"

Soon after the toast, the waiters were on their way around to take notes for the starter course, stopping at every table on the way to take the orders, this included the presidential table.

"What would one be requiring?" asked the waiter.

"Tomato soup please" replied Penny, with Evan ordering salmon with parsley sauce, Nick went on to order a chicken based starter, as well as asking if the restaurant staff can give Wallace some roast beef diced in gravy, for even the cat isn't going to be left out with this meal, after all he has been *relatively* behaved and at the moment is lying down atop the stairs

"Oh wow," said Finja. "That sounds like the city has been enjoying a boom since independence, or has Gaztown been a megapolis before?"
That would be interesting, since the country's independence seems to be quite young. Although Draycora was never dependent (which is astounding as the gigantic empire of Onderkelkia is right next to it), the united principality was not founded until 1888. From then on, the country had many ups and downs, only in the 1980s with the libertarian reforms, everyone was doing really well. Port Ember, on the other hand, seemed to be prospering since independence.
The couple continued to listen to the tour guide.

Fiona Scáineadh of the Tribe of Monaghan.
Waterstad International Airport.

Bloody shit, that had been one heck of a long flying odyssey!
For someone only used to regional hoppers from Leuda to Traverse, or from Fortham to Traverse, for that matter, a series of flights of several thousand kilometers to finally get to the place of vacation, with several stopovers and changes in planes, was quite an adventure in its own right!
But now, here I was: Port Ember, Waterstad International Airport.
I breathed in the refreshing, tropical air - this time, real tropics, not the half-baked tropics that was the Archipelago! Here, I would spent seven nights and the corresponding number of days, relaxing between my studies of economics in Fortham, see the sights, lie on the beach and work on my tan, maybe get to know people... we'll see, what we'll have!
I was not here for any work, that was for sure.
Then, the whole trip would go back, maybe less complicated this time...
Anyway, here I was, dressed in a white summer dress, knee length, with a pair of sunglasses on my nose protecting my blue eyes and my long, blonde hair bound into a braid, that wrapped itself around the back of my head... maybe I would try a new hairdo while here? Let's see about that.
I walked through the terminal with my traveling bag in my hand and with a backpack on my back, one loop over my shoulder. I smiled, as I exited. Taxis - in a long row before me.
I approached the first one.
"Hello!", I greeted the driver, "Got a spot left?"
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.
My people are called the Selkie, the nation is usually called the Free Lands in MT-settings. Thanks.

President Flint noticed Penny flinching when he slammed the table, and felt sorry for startling her. He however did not know the true reason behind her fright as he did not know her history. Therefore he dismissed his actions quickly, as the table slam was a normal Port Emberian custom.

The crowd responded to the president's toast with great passion - even though cheering out of tune with another. The passion was there nontheless. Edward smiled as he watched the passionate response from the crowd - arousing passion from crowds was one of his greatest talents and features and a large factor which makes him so popular in the public's eyes.

Edward and Joani clinked their glasses of rum together following the toast, and enjoyed taking their first sips of the high quality Port Emberian spiced rum served to fhem. Edward also enjoyed the fact that PM Ian did the same.

When the waiter arrived at the table, Edward and Joani both ordered a salmon based starter.

Edward then turned to Ian, "So Prime Miniser, what is your first and honest opinion regarding what you have heard and seen regarding the Republic?"

The guide listened attentively to the question posed by Finja and responded swiftley, "Well Gaztown was always a massive and important city, gaining its size since the 1800's. However its true growth and development first boomed in earnest immediately following Independance, when the newly elected government and the private sector worked hand-in-hand to focus on its growth. The peak of this cooperation occured in 2000, as the city was then classified as a Megacity, a Global City and a Smart City, and consequently reclassified as a Megalopolis."

The guide smiled and wondered if there were any more questions before she announced the end of the tour.

Peter, a middle aged man working as a cab driver was seated in his olive green cab, parked outside the Waterstad International Airport, waiting for his next job. And his next job approached, and only noticed her when she was at the car, speaking through the window, asking him whether he had a spot left.

He took a quick look at his potential customer, and noticed that she was a female dressed in a white summer dress, wearing a pair of sunglasses and had long blonde hair bound into a braid. Very attractive indeed.

He replied, still seated inside the cab, "Top o' the day lassie. Sure do - get in! Where ye off to lassie?" He spoke in a thick Emberian accent, the specific Waterstad culture unique to those folks who grew up around the waterfront area.

Waterstad International Airport.

I smiled at the cab driver, pretending to not notice, that he checked me out. Well, a middle-aged cab driver wasn't exactly what I was looking for as someone to get to know.
I entered the car, putting my bags onto the rear seats.
"Perfect! Thank you!", I said and sat down next to him, "I would like to go to the Wheelhouse Hotel, please."
It would be the hotel I had a room booked, after all, so...
I had taken a moment to listen to his thick accent, but I would manage, I believed, if there weren't any worse then that.

Greater Orcadian Embassy - Lilly Black Borough
Embassy Opening Crowd

Orcadian Embassy, opening dinner
When President Flint asked his opinions, Ian Gordon paused momentarily, "well, Mr President, When I came to politics as a back bench MP, things between our two nations were not what you could call warm and I think you were in a senatorial position or was that a congress position, and there was some distrust on both sides, however a lot of that may have been from the media, both your media on us, and our media on Port Ember yet wind the clock forwards a few years and things had started to change, there are still cracks to fill in and things to do but the fact that we have been able to open this embassy here is a start and a big move in the right direction.

As for what I have seen, your environmental policy seems to be forward thinking and it seems your social policies are something that we back home could learn from, but I think it will take a while for the populus of both nations to begin to trust eachother but we are on the right path I think"

Penny listenned intently, her eyes focused on Ian Gordon as he spoke, then moving to whoever else was speaking for Penny was one who believed in eye contact, Evan caught movement out of the corner of his eye, it was Wallace making his way down stairs towards a door that lead to the private area of the Embassy for there a member of the Embassy staff was standing with a plate of diced meat covered in gravy so it looks like Wallace will be getting something to eat soon.

Evan's attention turned to Penny, "whats the charge like?"

Penny moved her arm and glanced at the status LEDs before looking at her legs, "seventy percent, they'll need a charge before tomorrow, my legs are in standby mode at the moment as I am sat here so they'll probably last a bit longer, however the spare pack should be charged when we get home tonight"

As the driver's new customer placed her bags on the back seat and continued to get into the front passanger seat, he started the engine of his cab. He looked over to her swiftly and commented, "I suggest ye buckle. No speedlaws..". He again noticed her attractiveness, without actually checking her out this time. Although he did check her out before, it was with no pervitic intentions. He was a happily married man, and consideres himself a professional in his field. And professional cab drivers did not hook up with their passengers! Besides, she was basically a child compared to his ripe age. Yet, there was no harm in admiring beauty...

He continued speaking, this time with his eyes glued to the road, "Aye the Wheelhouse it is then. A popular wee' place with them tourists. If ye dont mind me askin lassie, were be ye from? And offcourse - welcome to the glorious Port Ember!"

As my Mam once told me: Fi, if you ever have a boyfriend, let him get as much appetite as he wants outside, but he eats at home! I bet, that he was someone's boyfriend or something else.
I smiled at his words about the Wheelhouse - that was the reason, why I took it, to be honest. It was a touristy-place.

Philia was relieved that the "inner circle" was just a metaphor. "Oh, good," she said. "I had somehow thought of such a Freemasonry in this expression". In Sophistan they are displayed as a terrorist sect. Philia was aware that this was a misrepresentation, but education can not simply be swept away. However, Philia's thoughts wandered off when she saw this monster of a structure. The height of this building was not abnormal, but the expanse stretched almost to the horizon. Overwhelmed by this greatness, Philia uttered a soft, breathy "Theé mou!". That was definitely bigger than the department store of Polis.
"Wow," said the sophist. "I am amazed, how was it built and who built it?"

Old Harbour House
Finja and Oakki

When the guide was finished, Finja thanked for the question.
"Megapolis," Oakki whispered to her in Finnish. "That has to get Halsholm first".
"Would not you call it megapolis?" She asked him back. "Elvish cities can be quite big too, like Smeralda".
Smeralda is the largest city of the Principality. It is almost twice as large as Halsholm and lies on the southeastern coast of the Elvish peninsula. There lies the so-called Crystal Realm, the wealthiest and most prosperous province of Draycora. This city was a haven of cultural and economic boom and overshadows Halsholm, the capital, a lot in the shade.
The couple now heard that the tour was over and the tourists were on their way.

As the tour concluded, the tour group were led back to their bus, but did not climb on immediately. Instead they were each handed a glass of fresh pressed orange juice filled with ice to help quench their first. As the group was effectively standing on the beach, the group was allowed to drink their juice in peace whilst soaking up the surrounding image of beauty and peace of the pearly white beach and sky blue ocean.

Greater Orcadian Embassy - Lilly Black Borough
Embassy Opening Crowd

As the Prime Minister spoke, Edward nodded in agreeance. Ian spoke facts - after Port Ember gained independance from Greater Orcadia in 1950 relations were strained to say the least - with both countries basically ignoring the existence of the other. And as to the populace's opinions - the average Port Emberian did indeed despise the Orcadians to this day.

Edward replied, "Indeed we are the first leaders who have attemptes to console relations between our nations in 70 years, its not bound to be a easy road. In fact the hardliner conservatives has made it very clear that they are... displeased at this embassy opening. Luckily no one would actually attempt to do something about it in a physical way..just iritate me in parliament. But luckily I still enjoy the majority support.

I am curious, especially with my impending embassy opening in Orcadia, what is the general feeling of this amongst your populace and especially your parliament?"

Joani listened to the conversation between Penny & Evan attentively, being greatly intriqued by the technology in use. She was no scientist of engineer, but her brother was a renowned robotics engineer, and thus she grew up around high tech gadgets. She did not wish to come off as rude and therefore did not actually ask out about the robotic mechanisms, just looked on in admiration.

Orcadian Embassy - presidential Table
Ian Gordon listenned carefully before he replied
"Well, Sir, The media over the years since the ending of relations between Port Ember and Orcadia gradually moved on to other stories, so when it was raised in the house a few MPs, particularly those on the opposition benches who had been in position since the nineteen sixties, some of whom are getting close to their retirement voted against the relationship being restored however the house voted six hundred to twenty five in favour, the upper house basically rubber stamped it and about a month before we hired the contractors, His Majesty King William gave his signature, and if things go well there could be an offer for a state visit sent your way too" Ian's voice changed slightly, more jovial when he mentioned the state visit, carefully dropping a hint

The table was momentarily interrupted as the waiters came along with the starter meals, all cooked to perfection.

Penny noticed Joani looking at her prosthetic arm,
"you seem intrigued, Ma'am" said Penny, smiling. Penny is not offended by the looks of admiration, far from it.

Philia was amazed that these are private individuals who had built this giant. Sure, they were probably well-to-do companies, but they still had to have the planning skills.
"There is also a mall in my homeland, but this is in no way so big", she said. "But there are no private companies, only companies that belong to the authorities."
The door of the limousine opened and Emily got out and called Philia also get out. Then Emily took her hand and pulled Philia into an elevator. This drove them to the hall of the building. Philia's jaw dropped as she saw this crowded mall.
"Wow, these people and this country have to be rich!" Philia said to Emely, but she continued to stare at the department store. "So, Adam Smith was right."

The cabbie listened to his passenger mention the things she wished to do during her time in Port Ember, and it sounded familiour - those were basic and general tourist activities. Thus - the lassie was in luck - he knew all of the best tourist attractions. He nodded and replied,

"Aye - Paradizo Beach is the closest beach, and its awesome. Ye can swim, sunbathe, snorkel, surf and so on...

As for yer other requirements - the Empire Mall is a great place for shopping, as is the Grand Bazaar. And theres tons and tons of places for good food and drink. Yer in the land of food and drink now!"
the cabbie laughed softly at his own joke.

The president listened attentively to Ian as he awnsered the previously posed question, and he was impressed. Only twenty five MP's of six hundred voted against the reeastiblishment of diplomatic ties. That alone was a win and paved the way for future mutual deals. Then to sweeten the proverbial cake, Ian hinted at a possible state visit due to the Kings influence. A soft smile formed instantly on Edward's face. Edward responded, "That would be a step into the rigt direction. Such a gesture would help smooth over those still opposed to our rekindling ties.. And it would pave the way for some important talks. For instance strong economic deals and military co-operation plans have already formed in my mind. As you know, The Republic has been in a number of military engagements of late, and forging new friends is always a good idea.."

Edward paused as the food arrived, and looked - and smelled absoulutely stunning.

Joani formed a light blush on her rosey cheeks when Penny noticed her stares and called her out on it - in a friendly manner. Joani replied, "Oh dear appologies for staring! I genuinely meant no offence. I have grown up around science and robotics. I am no master myself, but the curiosity for it have always been present. It amazes me how far society has come to better lives by using technology."

Emily smiled softly at Philia's amazement. Emily knew of Sophistan's state controlled...everything, so a state controlled and build mall in Sophistan did not surprise her. Emily smiled again as Philia commented that the country was wealthy. Emily replied, "Offcourse it is dear! Is that not why ye came here in the first place? We are fortunate to be one of the wealthiest countries on the planet. Who is Adam Smith?"

Indeed the food had an aroma that exudes an aire of excellence about it, and this was just the starter course!, each dish was placed by its relevant diner by the embassy catering staff. atop the upper gallery, a door opened and a hand gestured prompting Walace to head over to the person for he was about to get a 3 course meal of his own, cat sized portions of course.

Penny recieving her meal was also handed some sliced bread and a pair of chop sticks ready for her main course when she orders it, Penny turned to Joani, "they've given my life back at a price and I'm not talking dollar value, there is sometimes that dull throbbing sensation that sometimes is reluctant to go away, but thats another story altogether",

Penny moved her prosthetic limg so Joani could examine it,

"the arm itself is generally good but some of the lighter weight polymer parts have been problematic, gears stripping so they were replaced as an on going development process. The legs have been a bit more reliable. Sensors in the sockets that surround my remaining flesh have sensors built in them, they detect neural impulses as you are probably aware when your brain tells your hand to do something, a small electrical signal fires off from the brain to the relevant muscle which moves your hand, instead of a nerve going to the hand or the feet, its a small electrical wire that goes to a small microprocessor which in turns sends another signal one of the various motors in the arm to operate what needs to move" explains Penny, trying to be as polite as possible, there are diners present and some have power and influence and putting the first lady off her meal really wouldn't go down well so Penny is trying to be as sensitive as she can.

"the legs also have shock absorbers in them as well, partly to protect the knees but also the residual limb that remains, they can also go into passive walk mode, meaning that they simply swing without receiving any command signal. or I can manually switch them into standby mode with a remote fob to preserve battery power, however clever they may be, running blades or natrual legs they aint"

I smiled at the remark - clearly, that guy had never eaten me Mam's Stobhach!
But not many people did that and Mam always was the best cook, no question asked, so she was a bit outside of the competition.
"Alright, Paradizo Beach, Empire Mall and the Grand Bazaar - got ya!", I said with a nod, "Sounds interesting, so I'll check them out, thank you. So, any other recommendations?"
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.
My people are called the Selkie, the nation is usually called the Free Lands in MT-settings. Thanks.

Empire Mall
Philia & Emily

Emily smiled softly at Philia's amazement. Emily knew of Sophistan's state controlled...everything, so a state controlled and build mall in Sophistan did not surprise her. Emily smiled again as Philia commented that the country was wealthy. Emily replied, "Offcourse it is dear! Is that not why ye came here in the first place? We are fortunate to be one of the wealthiest countries on the planet. Who is Adam Smith?"
[/quote]

"Well, I came here for non-material reasons, not for material reasons," Philia answered. "I wanted to be free and individual, whether I became rich or poor. This is what I never really could, I mean, I was not even allowed to wear clothes in Sophistan."
She paused.
"Oh, Adam Smith was a philosopher who had probably created individualism, and his basic tenet was that if everyone is themselves, society will prosper the most." She thought for a moment and was surprised that somehow she thought Smith was worshiped here as Plato in Sophistan. "We have never taken his books in class, but there is a library in which only members of the highest caste may enter, but me and ... my boyfriend"
Her eyes dropped again and a hint of sadness came to her face, at the same time it seemed to blush.
"He and I broke into this library a couple of times, stealing and reading controversial books, Adam Smith was one of them."
