Kevin Lee - Upperdeck Hotel

As Agent Carlston left, Kevin pulled out his phone and checked it. While they had bantered at the table, he had tried to discreetly plant a bug/tracker on Agent Carlston. When he checked his phone, it confirmed that it was working while Carlston apparently drove off. Turning his attention back to his computer, Kevin keep scanning bids on one of his many shady arms trafficking websites he frequented. As he scanned through hundreds of deals ranging from combat accessories to vehicles of war, a small notification popped up in the bottom right corner of the screen. With a smile he clicked it and starting typing in some code.

Audrey Clark - Safe house - Suburbia

Audrey woke up quite late in the morning in a safe house in Suburbia Waterstad Borough. The safe house was owned by a shell company that operated in tandem with many covert agencies of The Chuck. The Port Embarian govt. probably knew the use of the safe house but that was above Audrey's pay grade. Getting out of bed, she tore the sheets off and tossed them in the washing machine while she went and took a shower. Once she was done, she got partially dressed in a shirt and shorts and sat down at a table with a cup of coffee and some toast and butter. Opening her computer, she attempted to access the backdoor that one of her fellow agents had managed to slip onto Kevin Lee's laptop a while back. As she started to remotely observe what he was doing she watched the cursor on his screen move down to a notification and click it. Instantly the cameras on both Kevin's and Audrey's laptops turned on in a live stream.

Kevin spoke in a low voice with a semi-friendly smile,

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, Audrey. Did you really think I wouldn't realize that there was a virus on my laptop?"

"Well, I assumed you didn't know since I've been able to spy on you multiple times in the past via this method."

"I knew all about that and decided to let you ha ha."

With a thought of dread growing in her, Audrey thought about the possibility that Kevin had spied on her on different occasions when she was doing other activities.

"Kevin I swear to God, if you have spied on me at inappropriate times I will punch you so hard next time I see you!"

Attempting to keep a straight face, Kevin unfortunately failed ever so slightly and Audrey could read his facial features.

"You peeping Tom son of a bitch!"

"Woah there Drey, I'll admit that I occasionally would hack into your computer to see what you were doing but if you were not decent, I wouldn't stick around. I promise.

Trying to quickly shift the subject so that he wouldn't get shot next time him and Audrey met, Kevin spoke again,

Say, are you officially 'on the clock' currently?"

"Erm... sort of?"

"Oh don't bullshit me, I spoke with a little birdie who informed me that you aren't getting any support from the Port Emberians. That means you're probably here without authorization."

*silence*

"Anyways, want to meet up for a drink?"

"Eh... sure..."

"Alright, if you want, I'll swing by in 30 minutes to pick you up."

"Wait... you don't know where I am..."

With the large shit eating grin on Kevin's face, Audrey rolled her eyes in a mixture of unsurprised anger and hopelessness. Just great, the agency would probably dock the cost of finding a new safe house out of her salary.

Caja & Kiana with Emily.

Emily smiled broadly at Caja's last statement and suggestive wink and let out a soft cute chuckle.

"Oh my, a good piece of muscle playing with a good piece of metal - is always a joy to my green eyes!" Another soft chuckle.

"Speaking off... what time is this all taking place? I have heard a little whisper that Kiana has a date with James O'Malley at Fightnight? I do not wish to interfere with times of pleasure..." Another cheeky smile was flashed.

The stall vendor was positively in round two of shock - first round was seeing a errandboy of 'The Shark', as that only bode trouble around here, and then receiving such an uncalled for and generous investment from a complete stranger. The vendor did not manage to say much in appreciation, bar a simple "a thousand blessings mam.." and a lone rebelious tear escaping his eyebank.

Agent Carlston

Agent Carlston was taking the long drive back to the office, situated in the Lilly Black Borough. He had to debrief Agent Mills - the Senior Agent regarding his meeting with Kevin Lee, and the new information he has gathered. He hoped it would cheer his boss up a bit, since he was in an extremely bad mood today. Some rumours was spreading that someone powerfull messed up his operation last night. Agent Carlston sighed out loud as he continued driving, unaware of the bug which was planted on him.

Johnny Azula "The Shark"

Johnny Azula was enjoying a steak and egg breakfast with a decently strong cup of coffee, seated at a single table, in a dark atmosphere.

Classical music was playing loudly from speakers situated somewhere in the dark. Even though the sun was already shining brightly in the morning air - the building was actually dark and cool - as it was a old brick warehouse with limited high placed windows, and only a few overhead lights was working.

The only other noticable feature visible was a filefolder open next to Azula on the table, with a fresh name just scratched out. If one listened very closely, one could hear faint muffles and cries of a human being being chopped to pieces while still alive with a fire axe from somewhere in the dark. Azula continued enjoying his breakfast with a satisfied smirk on his face.

Orcadian Embassy
Ian Gordon stepped forward
"Thank you Mr president" he says, before starting his speech
"Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to be here today, it has been a long road and it started many, many years ago when relations between our two nations were not at their best, yet with a change of government in both nations with the election of President Flint, relations began to thaw, and today the climate is right between our nations to begin a renewal of diplomatic relations and it begins with this small, but historic step in opening the new Embassy you see here...."

Ian pauses for a moment, turning to President Flint

"...I would also like to take this opportunity to formally invite Port Ember to open a new Embassy in Edinburgh"

Caja and Kiana. The Cutlass.
"I was thinking about tomorrow, morning, if it can be arranged, afternoon, if not.", Caja said with nod, "We'll have to phone home for that and for scheduling anyway. And they'll have to get the papers and documents needed for the moving of firearms out of the country. It's still a bit."
Kiana nodded. "So it should not interfere with my date.", she said.
She had promised James his reward, so he would have it. 'Fightnight', however, sounded... interesting.

Aurora Alce. Lustro.
Unaware about what Azula was up to, we returned to the Marina and the yacht, which we had taken to get here. We went through scanning for listening devices, trackers and similar things, nothing being found.
I still had to smile at the gratitude of the shop owner - that one was worth it to me.
And then, I found myself with my boss, sitting in his office, deep in the bowels of the vessel. He and I had a computer printout before us.
Azula was owner of a Gentleman's Club, the Lollipop, and rumoured to be a crime boss. Mid-thirties in age, so my boss was older. He opened his club five years ago - any information about his life before that was unavailable so far. Our head office only skimmed the surface, when it came to him.
His criminal connections, apparently, led to him being the number one address for drugs and weapons, in a country, where either of both enjoyed a certain degree of legality - which raised the question, what he sold in the drug department. For weapons, the draw would be untraceable firearms.
The next question was, how the LCN could profit and if the the LCN wanted to profit.
"So...", I said and looked to my boss. "...dinner or lunch?"
"Lunch. Tomorrow.", my boss said and nodded, "That sounds alright... we will plan for the worst case. I will call Antonio, he, too, will be thrilled." He let a beat pass. "You'll call him and make the arrangements. After that, I would like to see your purchases and then we will prepare for dinner tonight."
I nodded.
"Understood, boss.", I said, "By the way, I donated to a small vendor on the bazaar, maybe something comes from it." I shrugged and my boss nodded. "I'll get to work, then!"
"Oh, one more thing, Aurora...", my boss said, smiled at me, "...Azula will be yours. I trust your judgement."
"Are...", I began after a moment. "Are you sure?"
"Yes.", my boss said and rose, standing near me and showing a rare honest smile: "You are ready."
I swallowed.

A few minutes later, I sat in my own, very much smaller, office, still in the depths of the vessel, telephone in hand. I had dialed the number on the card and was waiting for someone to pick up.
My chair was comfortable, but my heart beat like crazy.
Once someone picked up, I spoke: "Buongiorno, I am Aurora Alce. Do I have the pleasure with Siore Azula?"

Orcadian Embassy - Lilly Black Borough

President Flint was seated in the front row of the audience seated next to Joani, his wife, who was seated next to the Port Emberian Foreign Minister in turn. While seated, the President was holding hands with his wife - a gesture which was quickly captured by the attending media. The President and his wife was known together as Port Ember's sweetheart couple due to their combined strength, love and loyalty. The First Lady occassionally looked up to the top of the grand staircase at a cat lying there, looking down at the activities below. The First Lady giggled softly at the cuteness transpiring amist the seriousness below.

As PM Gordon mentioned the official invitation for Port Ember to establish a embassy within Orcadia, he nodded slightly in agreeance when the PM looked at him. This turn of events did not come as a surprise to the president, as he fully expected this offer to be laid out at some time. He has even already chosen the future ambassador, unofficially offcourse.

The attending media continued to film the event and snap a picture here and there.

The Cutlass
Caja & Kiana with Emily

Emily nodded at Caja's explanation, still maintaining her soft smile from before. An interesting albeit slightly weird cultural gesture almost all Port Emberians portrayed - always maintan a soft smile during a conversatiom no matter the current topic or emotion. Which is always interesting since Port Emberians tends to be a quite rude people to strangers.

Emily quickly tapped away on her Tablet, clearing her schedule for the following day, ensuring that her entire following day is free of appointments to be available to conclude her business with the girls. Following this, she handed Caja a businesscard, which was unique due to the fact that it lacked the details normally found on similar cards. This one contained only a cell number writen in a beautifull golden font and a engraved cherry blossom flower in the corner.

She finally replied "Excellent!" She took hold of Caja's hand once more and stared deep into the Blonde's eyes, while Emily's bright green eyes shimmered and danced in the morning sunlight, before continiuing - "I'd be waiting for your call tomorow then.. No matter the time, my day has just become free tomorow.."

She turned to Kiana, now taking hold of her hand, and staring into her eyes before speaking - "You owe me nothing, yet I will politely ask you not to break the lad's heart. He is somewhat dear to me.."

Phonecall between Aurora and Azula

Johnny Azula has just finished his breakfast and both the sounds of death and the classical music had fainted. As he lid one of signature cigars, his phone rang, which he answered with a smile. A female voice spoke to him through the phone "Buongiorno, I am Aurora Alce. Do I have the pleasure with Siore Azula?"

After allowing a beat to pass while he exhaled a deep cigar breath, he replied "Ah yes Miss Alce. I am joyfull and appreciative of the fact that you phoned - and sincerely wish that the manner in which you have received my number did not offend you... I have learned of your entry to my island.. and I presume it is connected to business? If I presumed correctly.. I wish a meeting with you and your boss.. for business offcourse."

Mark Armitage
Upperdeck Hotel

Deciding that he was in the mood for something to eat, Mark headed down to the bar on the first floor, putting on his standard business suit and equipping his custom CZ-P10F in the process. He made his way out the door and to the elevator, making his way down to the lobby and outside. He knew exactly where he wanted to go this morning. Deciding that waiting around for one of Lex's guys to pick him up would take forever, he decided to take one of the local cabs.

Lex Skoropadsky
45 Sola Street

As the car was pulling into the driveway, Lex had a sneaking suspicion that the new neighbors were going to be a nuisance to him. They had arrived from out of nowhere, and had no connections to any organization here on the island, considering they went straight to the real estate agent with all of their vehicles and manpower instead of a local company agent to properly establish themselves. This could be a golden opportunity for him, however...

Suddenly, he got a text from one of his senior managers at the docks.

"Good morning sir, I have some new information on your new neighbors. Sending the available files to you now"

After a few seconds, a few files appeared on Lex's phone. Scrolling through the information, one file, in particular, caught his eye. A certain "Mike Haze". The profile was a peculiar one, stating that he had been involved in both the infamous city of Los Santos and is in good standing with the Tropican Government.

"Not much on his personal life, unfortunately...", mused Lex, "but that is the Tropican's for you, I suppose."

He went into his house, had a quick breakfast that his chef had prepped for him, and put on his tennis attire. He needed something to pass the time before the new neighbors arrived.

Caja and Kiana. The Cutlass.
Caja smiled and nodded.
"Wonderful.", she said and met Emily's eyes with her own. "I'll call you, then? When Aonas and our selection are in the country?"
Kiana, meanwhile, was now watching, noting the polite smile. The international reputation of the Embrians was once again proven to be... maybe a bit exaggerated? She did not know, but so far, they met a lot of nice people, even if the niceness and the way it showed varied.
Though, was that much different from the Selkie? Known as the happy-go-lucky people, who were reluctant to even hurt a fly, as the drinkers of good whiskey and cooks of hearty stews, the dancers to fiddle and flute, who's melodies spoke of love, kindness, anecdotes of fun and of dancing?
Not many people knew (or wanted to know), that the people, who dressed into skimpy fur dresses whenever there was something to celebrate - and there was a lot to celebrate - could be aggressive, harsh or outright emotionless, where there was usually emotion, song and dance abound.
Never, Kiana repeated to herself, judge a book by its cover.

Aurora Alce. Lustro.
I smiled at his concern about the delivery method of the number. It was unusual, and sounded like the set-up for a bad mafia-movie, but it worked, apparently, so that was all that counted.
"Indeed, Siore Azula, my Maestro and I are in Port Ember for business.", I replied to him, and apparently, business had found us, "We would, indeed, welcome the chance to meet with you. My Maestro allowed me to take the reins in the negotiations and I would like to ask you to please accept me as the Negoziatore in the dealings between my boss and yourself."
Now, it was up to him to accept that...
...better to make this known to him before he was surprised.

Upperdeck Hotel
Mark Armitage

The cab driver, who was seated in his vehicle opposite the Upperdeck Hotel, saw a neatly dressed gentleman indicating that he needed a cab. The driver got out of the driver seat, and followed to open the rear seat for his client. As the gentleman entered the vehicle, he could spot the outline of his holstered pistol. With the lax gunlaws, this did not alarm the driver. Once the gentleman was inside, the door closed and the driver back inside the vehicle,he waited for the required location from his passenger.

Caja & Kiana with Emily

Emily appreciated the recipecating stare and smile from Caja. When she finished speaking, Emily replied "Indeed please do. You provide me with the time, and I will provide you with the place.. I have a range we can use.." said with another flashing smile.

Emily's small posture and chirpy attitude hid her true nature well, she always assumed. She had the exterior of a kitten, yet the heart and determination of a dragon. She did believe that her inner dragon could remain hidden, as she trusted this two beauties so far, and felt content with their apparent competency.

Telehonic Conversation Between Aurora & Azula

Johnny Azula listened closely and attentively to the young lass speak over the phone, taking in and analysing every word.

He was glad that she did not take offence to the method which he deployed to get his contact number through to her. He admitted to himself that is was a rather tacky method, yet one he felt was neccesary in order to showcase his wide range of information gathering capabilities.

As the lass informed him that she will be his negotiator for their business together, he answered without hesitation: "Certainly lass, no problem here. We should set up a meet & greet then. When and where would you suggest?"

Some crimelords in some nations might have taken offence to dealing with a women for business matters, but not here in Port Ember. Port Ember has for generations held women to the same regard as men, sometimes even respected more. Azula did not care who he dealt with, as long as his own agenda was advanced.

Viktor Venediktov, Waterstad International Airport

There was a slight spring in his step as Viktor entered the arrival area. Only a few days ago he one the won the annual vacation lottery, a event where one lucky soul is picked to briefly escape the office life. Venediktov couldn't help but grin remembering Fyodor Putlilin, the finance minister, picking his ticket from the raffle bowl and announcing his name. Now he was here, the Republic of Port Ember one of the world's prime vacation spots. Briskly walking to the luggage pick-up Viktor was flipping through his wallet, finally finding the Visa that the minister personally(!) bestowed upon him before Viktor's departure. The moment flashed through his mind as his solitary leather-brown suitcase appeared on the carousel which he quickly grabbed. A few minutes later he finally got his luggage checked in, and entered the Central Terminal. The bureaucrat couldn't help but turn around in a circle taking all the smells and sights from the shops and restaurants. Then he stopped at one smell. He knew that odor anywhere after a certain incident that ended with a office neighbor being dragged off by Special Action Police. Viktor spotted the source, a man with his head bent down over a table. But what was strange to him was that everyone was so casual about him snorting the white powder. Viktor hurriedly searched for some security officer or other and found one just leaning on a wall, in sight of the crackhead no less! The Karevkan man walked up to the officer and, without not caring to tone down his accent, informed the officer. "Excuse me, but over there-" he pointed to the man "-That person is you know, snorting up a bag load of crack cocaine." he said in quiet, but strong tone.

Viktor Venediktov

As the guard was leaning against the wall, observing the bustling around of the masses of people moving around, he was approached by a young gentleman, who looked obviously distressed. Without wasting time, the man spoke "Excuse me, but over there..That person is you know, snorting up a bag load of crack cocaine.". The man's words were dipped in a thick accent.

The guard looked over at where the man was pointed, and not far from them was a man seated at a restuarant table, indeed snorting coke. The guard remained silent, looking at the complainent puzzled for a few moments, before he finally clicked. aah foreigner obviously..!

The guard burst into laughter, originating from deep within his stomach. When his laughter subsided, he smiled softly, allowing authority to return to his voice: "Indeed he is sir. You would find that you are now in the land of the free... That man is enjoying a substance which he paid for legally - and now uses legally. No crime has been committed here kind sir. I do thank you for your... observant nature however."

Viktor Venediktov, Waterstad International Airport
Viktor nearly fell flat on his back upon hearing the guard''s words. Cocaine? Legal cocaine? Marijuana legalization was a furiously debated topic in the Party Congress, the Central State Committee and even the Politburo. But crack cocaine? I've you told a Karevkan that legal crack was thing they would laugh and congratulate you for such a joke. Either way, legal or not, it was the law here and even though he may disagree with it but he will have to deal with it. He cleared his throat "Sorry for the confusion, it is just that the thought of such a drug being legal is just ludicrous to me!" he said with the distinct, boisterous laugh of a Karevkan. Viktor composed himself and told the guard to carry on, picked up his suitcase and proceeded outside. Spying a bright green taxi, he jogged towards it. Thinking on the fly, Viktor decided to ask whoever was driving the taxi what were the best places to relax, shop and stay. Hopping into the backseat, he asked the driver "Please tell me where the best hotel is and take me there." As he took out his Visa card.

As the cab driver started driving, he responded to his customer "Aye lad - the best hotel in this borough would definitely be The Upperdeck Hotel. It'l only be a 15 minute drive.. and welcome to Port Ember lad!"

The driver managed to quickly get out of the chaotic aitport precinct, and climbed on the Highway System. Mid morning traffic meant that the road was very busy, with thousands of vehicles running towards their destination. Luckily however, there was no speedlimits and 12 one way lanes, preventing congestion. The effecient highway system was a true modern marvel.

Viktor Venediktov, Waterstad International Airport

The speed at which the cabbie drove down the highway threatened to plaster Venediktov to his seat. Knowing that all manner of drugs were legal here, that must mean there's no speed limit either. Trying to ignore the fact he asked his driver "One more question, where are the good places to wind down?" Viktor at the same time wondered what the life expectancy of a cab driver was in this city.

Waterstad Highway System
Viktor Venediktov

The driver listened to his passenger ask his question, and when he looked at him through the central mirror, noticed that he looked a bit.. concerned, possibly due to the vehicle's current high speed. He smiled softly before speaking:

"Just a fun fact Mister - all vehicles are fitted with an Anti-Collision System.. And all cab drivers are required to complete a Advanced Driving Course.. so yer' in safe hands. The high speed we are traveling is needed in order to avoid creating traffic congestion.. With a populace of 1 Billion, this city's traffic can easily become a proper hell otherwise.

Anyway, to awnser your question, theres a lot to do, depending on what ye' fancy. We have a few local bars - very popular if you are looking for a rowdy time, The Malibu is an excellent nightclub, The Lollipop is a excellent gentlemans club.., The Ramzerz is one of the best restuarants in town, The Empire Shopping Mall has it all, The Cutlass is a brilliant beachbar and the Grand Bazaar for exotic shopping! Theres more if ye tell me in what field ye lookin for.."

Waterstad International Airport -- Oakki and Finja
The newlywed couple entered the terminal. Packed with suitcases and bags they walked into their honeymoon in Port Ember. Oakki, a young man of 28, carried most of his luggage. He had organized the trip almost completely himself and wanted to surprise his sweetheart with it, where he seemed to be successful. But it was also exciting for him, as he had never set foot outside Draycora's borders all his life. The history lecturer usually wore his long hair open, with slight scratches and sticky edges. He was wearing a summer shirt and long jeans.
His companion and newlywed wife Finja, the same age as him, differed in style from her husband. The pretty, young woman has tied her blond hair into a ponytail, an equally summery blouse graced her torso and a three-quarter jeans covered her legs. She was fortunate enough to travel often with her family as a child, yet she never left the "Land of Kings and Emperors" - the region where Draycora is located.
The two were happy to finally have ground under their feet and almost reached the destination. They left the terminal and stepped out of the air-conditioned building into the warm humid air.
Oakki looked at his cell phone, "I booked a room on the Upperdeck," he said in Finnish. "There should be taxis somewhere here, we'll take one, which will drive us there."
"Upper Deck ...", Finja repeated the English word, which sounded strange, embedded in their language. "So this is our hotel. Sounds fancy!".
"Yes, it has four stars, and, as far as I've read, it's in a nautical theme," he looked into her eyes. "Everything perfect for my princess."
She smiled. Oakki was the best match she could get. He was a loving person who knew his strengths and weaknesses and could deal with them. After the couple found a taxi, Oakki went to the windowpane and knocked on it.
"Hello!" He said in English as the window was lowered. "The young lady and I need someone to drive us to the upper deck."

Viktor Venediktov, Waterstad Highway System

Venediktov finally relaxed knowing that the driver knew what he was doing. "Thanks for the information," he said to the driver "You see I won a vacation lottery at my ministry and the ministry only gives you a Visa to pay for your expenses on vacation. I was in such a hurry to get here that I barely did any research." Viktor had a small laugh and continued "So I greatly appreciate your help." He turned to look out the window admiring this wondrous city. He was bound to find more surprises on this trip.

Waterstad International Airport
Oakki and Finja

The cab driver had someone knock on his window, asking him to take them to the Upperdeck Hotel. The driver quickly exited his vehicle and opened the boot, quickly yet carefully loadig the luggage into it. The driver quickly summed up his new customers - young attractive couple, presumably married and obviously foreigners. He enjoyed driving foreigners, as he learned small tidbits of other cultures - and he got to see the amazement on their faces firsthand once they saw the modern marvel which is their city.

Once loaded, he waited for them to climb in back, after which he retook his driver seat, and immediately started driving off to their destination.

As the driver turned off the Highway System, the road led them over a hill, before entering the Waterdstad Central Quarter. This hill was fantastic, as it gave one a good look at the beast known as Port Ember Megalopolis. If one looked south, one could see the blue ocean, with thousands of cargo ships entering or leaving the massive Port. If one looked in any other direction, as far as the naked eye could see, large skyscrapers were everywhere. Everywhere.

The driver crossed the hill and soon after stopped at the Upperdeck Hotel.

Viktor Venediktov, Upperdeck Hotel

Viktor took a look back at the hill, making a mental note to go back there some time to enjoy that view. The Upperdeck Hotel from the outside alone was luxurious and he was excited to get a look on the inside. Only now after stopping he released his hand turned pure white because it had a death grip on his suitcase handle. Taking out his well-worn wallet and retrieving the Visa, he told his driver "Thank you for getting me here. I'll admit your city is a beautiful one, and I look forward to exploring it." He had a big smile as he handed over the Visa. During the ride he wrote down a few of the places the cabbie told him about: The Malibu, Lollipop, Ramzerz and Empire Shopping Mall.

In the taxi on the way to the Upperdeck Hotel -- Oakki and Finja
The driver made a hectic impression on Finja. He performed each of his movements at an increased speed, even when packing his luggage, where he was trying to be careful, he was fast. She realized that the driver was surveying her and Oakki briefly from top to bottom. After everything was admitted, the couple got into the taxi.
"Thanks," said Oakki as the driver took his place. Finja also looked at the driver. He did not seem very talkative.
On the trip many impressions broke on the couple. Especially the huge skyscrapers of the city center fascinated her.
"See how huge they are!", Said Finja in her native language to her husband. "I have never seen any like this".
"Yes, skyscrapers are rare in Draycora," he replied.
Finja was attracted by the construction of the city's buildings, she felt like going on a city break.
"I'm looking forward to seeing the city," she said. "What do we do first?"
"We're celebrating our arrival tonight," Oakki replied. "I read about a place called 'Malibu' that sounds interesting."
When Finja heard the English-spoken word, she noticed that she and Oakki were talking in Finnish all the time.
She looked at the driver, who probably did not understand. What did he think?

Upperdeck Hotel
Viktor Venediktov

The cab driver smiled softly at his passenger as he took the Visa Card, and subsequently spotted the name Viktor Venediktov engraved upon it. Without wasting time, the driver processed the transaction to the worth of 4 Aurum, or $8 NSD. The driver thanked the man and bid him farewell, with a tipping motion of his cap.[hr]

As the driver was speeding down the massive highway at a impressively high speed, he could hear the couple in the back conversing in their native tounge which he did not understand. But what he could understand was the amazement on their faces when they observed the great city outside the cab, especially seen on the face of his female passenger. And with a humongous city with a population of over a billion people, it was forced to be impressive and larger than life.

The driver overheard them speak to each other in a language he identified as finish possibly, with a unique accent which he could not peg. He smiled, enjoying the beauty of the aucistic aspects of the language. This was part of the perks of his job, hearing new and exciting languages. It was also extremely common, with a reported 100 million tourists per year to the city, he has learnes not to take offence when another language was used to converse. He did hear one word however Malibu, which he knew all too well. He waited for a moment of silence before speaking:

"If ye' wish to travel to the Malibu tonight, I'll be more than willing to take ye' there tonight. If ye' are satisfied with me' service ofcourse. I'll even throw in some survival tips per se for the night."

Viktor Venediktov, Upperdeck Hotel

Viktor took back his card and bid the driver farewell too. He gave a wave as the cab left and then started walking, with the little bounce in his steps again, to the hotel lobby. Inside he took a look around amazed at the splendor of it all. It reminded of the palaces built for the Grand Barons before they were, thankfully, over thrown in the Liberation War. He approached the front desk and, hoping if there was any rooms left, asked the receptionist "Excuse me, how much does a regular room cost here if there is one available?"

In the taxi on the way to the Upperdeck Hotel -- Oakki and Finja

"Oh, that would be nice!", said Finja and smiled gently. Even though she spoke very good English, she could not hide her accent.
"What do you think, darling?", and she turned to Oakki, still speaking in English.
"Does not sound bad," he answered and then spoke to the driver. "But what do you mean by survival tips?"

Upperdeck Hotel
Viktor Venediktov

Viktor was greeted by Jonathan - the man working at the reception desk of the Upperdeck Hotel. He was young with a rugged handsomeness and was dressed brilliantly in a dark black suit, with not a hair out of place. Professionalism was the game at Upperdeck Hotel.

Jonathan greeted Viktor in a straight forward yet still friendly manner and tone, in both english and esperanto - the two official languages of Port Ember. Jonathan informed Viktor that a room was free indeed, for the fee of 50 Aurum, or $100 NSD per night.

The drivee belowed a soft yet polite laugh before responding "Oh nothing truly ominesce! You see Port Ember is very.. different from the rest of the world. The passiom and true amount of freedom around, is sometimes.. frightning to foreigners.. so basically, in short - do not look for a fight.. the locals around here are mostly sailors or factory workers. They love to brawl and they do so all too well! Secondly, and most importantly, you need to know and understand that the Malibu is a thriving den of drugs. Hard drugs. Cocaine and the like. And its completely legal, so no freaking out and such.."

The Cutlass Beachbar & Restuarant

Caja and Kiana. The Cutlass.
"That sounds like a plan, then.", Caja said with a firm nod, not fooled in the slightest. In their business, a kitten was fodder. So the kitten had to have claws in order to survive. It was a simple principle. "So... unless there is anything other to say, I would propose, that we adjourn for the time being, until Aonas arrives."
If there is nothing more to say for now, adjourn. Time is money and money is time. With needless sitting around, both are wasted. - Again, the Guildbook.
She flagged a waitress down and paid for all drinks currently unpaid for, in the entire Cutlass, then gave a generous tip.
Then she and Kiana rose, both offering their hands to shake. It was a weird gesture for Selkie, who were more people used to bowing.
"We'll meet again tomorrow?", Caja asked.

As soon as their goodbyes were said, they returned to their taxi, intent on heading back to the Upperdeck. A bit of work needed to be done, a report made...
...and waiting.
Utter, boring waiting. Hopefully, there would be someone to alleviate that boredom...
...for Caja, at least, for Kiana had a date to prepare for.

Aurora Alce. Lustro.
I smiled.
Technically, I was still an apprentice. Inexperienced, with little of a network of my own, siphoning off from my Maestro, everything spoke against me, yet...
Him accepting me without pause spoke well.
Chances to the youth, as they say.
"How about we meet tomorrow for lunch, at a location of your choosing?", I proposed with a charming smile, which, I hoped, would find its way over the cable.
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.
My people are called the Selkie, the nation is usually called the Free Lands in MT-settings. Thanks.

Viktor Venediktov, Upperdeck Hotel

The receptionist, Johnathan according to his name tag, was agreeably friendly and professional. Anyone could appreciate excellent customer service after all. "I'll take the room." was all that he said as he presented the VISA. His foot began to tap the floor in excitement as Johnathan took the card and slid it through. After retrieving his card he asked "What is the floor and room number?".
