All across the Islamic World, the Sayyids and Sharifs are revered as the descendants of the Prophet Muhammad. Some of these people, have found themselves in high places; many of which becoming monarchs. Others are religious leaders, while some live plain and simple lives like most folk. Nevertheless, no matter their status, they are very important figures in Islam. In fact, according to Islamic Law; the sole leader of the Islamic World, the Caliph, must be a descendant of Muhammad.

The Alliance of the Court of Sayyids and Sharifs

IC: The Alliance of the Court of Sayyids and Sharifs is an alliance of nations which follow the religion of Islam, and recognize that there is only one God and that God is Allah, and that Muhammad is his last Messenger. The Alliance will be based in Hejaz, and lead by a single Caliph(emperor), who is the religious and political successor to the Prophet Muhammad. Each nation will have a representative in the Court of Sayyids and Sharifs, who must be a Muslim. Among these representatives, one will be selected as Caliph to lead the Islamic World. It is recommended that each nation choose a representative who is a descendant of Muhammad, so that they may be valid for selection for Caliph. The Alliance of the Court of Sayyids and Sharifs(ACSS) does not require its member nations to follow any single ideology other than Islam; and nations may be democracies, monarchies, theocracies, republics, fascist, socialist, and so on and so forth. The nations of the ACSS will be united as Defenders of Islam, and will continue to spread its Word.

OOC: The ACSS is an alliance within the Midas Casino Lounge RP Group as well as The Golden Colosseum RP Group, and the only Islamic Alliance in both. Midas primarily participates in PMT RPs, and have usually fluent English Speakers. The Golden Colosseum is an RP group that had recently splintered from Midas, and is mostly MT; being set in the latter half of the 20th century, around the same time as the IRL Cold War. The ACSS may also partake in RPs of other tech-levels, and should not be limited to PMT like Midas or MT like TGC.It is however recommended that members who apply have at least some RP experience and are fluent enough English speakers. You are not required to speak Arabic, or even be OOC Muslim. I myself am not Muslim, though I do plan to convert to Islam within the year. One may apply for a normal membership, or an Inner Council membership; but whomever has their representative chosen as Caliph will automatically gain Inner Council membership, if not already an Inner Council Member prior. Members of the Inner Council are officers of the ACSS. There may be different Caliphs in different time-periods or different universes

It is also now possible to apply as an Islamic Organization, which is not a government or nation.

One may also apply for Training Membership. IC, they will have Normal Membership; this only applies OOC. Training membership is for NSers who have trouble with RPing, newbies in general, people who have trouble writing in English, etc.

You do realize people's names change with the times, right? Most Indonesians didn't have Islamic names until the late 90s-2000s, for example. Not to mention there are some people named Sayyid/Sharif that aren't techincally Sayyids/Sharifs. Cultural influences also count as a factor.

Founder here. This is dead. Not a lot of strong Muslim alliances on NS for some reason. Also founders have broken up and we kinda takfir each other so there's that. I'd love to start up another Muslim alliance(I've already thought up a good name for one) but that actually requires a good foundation of some active Muslim NSers with decent writing skills and a large pool of members to choose from.
