Question for everyone who's country would employ gallowglass mercenaries or approve a Camelonean Viking expedition to assist your nations military? Or if you want to go another route fought against your nation, as gallowglass while having a strict code of chivalry fight for the side that a. isn't batshit insane and b. willing to pay a good chunk though the pursuit of glory and righteousness is also a motivator for many. Doesn't mean there are not ammoral or even immoral gallowglass battles though.

Epsilon Company, Platoon D
The hour had passed quickly and the squires of Platoon D had gathered in the dining hall, a small alter was constructed at the eastern wall of the hall, the tables and chairs pushed off to the side. The squires of Platoon D knelt on one knee as Veteran O'Cuilinn stood beside the Platoon's knight Sir O'Nuallain, a large and bearlike man with stone cold brown eyes and a demeanor that demanded respect but an aura of grace and sophistication contrasted to create a paradoxical feeling when beholding the knight. The final person was a simple grey robed monk who appeared to be around middle-age with a lively and cheery smile, very different than the almost glare coming from Sir O'Nuallain. Knight and Veteran knelt at both sides of the alter as the monk led the prayers that Christ would watch over them and that He may strengthen the resolve and virtue of those who have sworn their sword and lives to that of knightly valor, that all acts that they would do would be pleasing to Him and when they fail that they would receive mercy. The monks sing song chanting was soft on the ears and even the singing chant reply of the squires did not sound all that bad.

The to be initiated squires knelt with both knees with a knife laid before them they wore simple white shirts. They had been told briefly before the initiation would start that they would be sworn in after the prayer service where they would hold the knife over their heart and the knight would push softly on it to draw blood, though that part was not necessary, to symbolize the power of life and death his position holds and the place of servitude that the squire holds beneath the knight. The knight would say the same vow to each of the squires as he pressed the knife gently but the squire would make his own vow to the knight in his own words. With that his fellow squires would bandage the chest and the chaplain would give a blessing to each of the sworn squires.

As they finished reciting the Our Father Sir O'Nuallain stood and strode over to the squires the monk a few steps behind him as some of the other squires in the platoon stood to take their place behind their respective initiates, two to an initiate. Before the initiates Sir O'Nuallain knelt in front of one and pushed the knife gently watching intently to see what was happening as he recited his vow.

"I, Martin O'Nuallain knight of his majesty High King Cyneric II, do hereby swear to bestow upon you my knowledge of war and chivalry so that you may flourish on the field of battle and if you are to die to meet the Reaper with a grin and a laugh. Your life and soul are my bounden duty to protect and nurture, God damn me if I shall fail in my duties to you who shall be like my son till the day you have taken the spurs yourself." Sir O'Nuallain swore as he removed his hand.

Either or works for me. Depends if your character knows the prayers, they are in Camelonean Gaelic so they should be understandable. I’ll leave it up to you to decide, IC wise responding is not all that important.

That plus a nasty dosage of writers block led me to focus on my schoolwork and before I knew it several months have passed, yeah I have no good excuse for you all but that is why I disappeared. I'm in finals week now so if anyone is still interested I'll be happy to continue but I am also currently undertaking a significant rewriting of Camelonean lore and religious landscape but most of the general skeleton will remain the same. Though, I would recommend rebooting the RP once you have finished the retconning, just so that no one is too confused. Shaira would be onboard again! ; )

Agreeing with Kyrenaia, RL always comes first, especially when it's about education, so you do have a damn good excuse, I think.
I also agree on the point, that it's probably better to continue as soon as you've finished the rewriting, for it sounds like a major retcon - I've been going through the same since December ... it can be confusing a lot.
Aside from that, I'd be in again with Gideon and Lina, too, of course! ^^

Yup, i don't think anyone could be upset with you (Camelone) for disappearing. Nationstates will always be here, but some things in life just need more attention from time to time. I'm pretty sure i had to originally drop from this for similar reasons.

Thank you everyone for understanding! I have already took the first steps in the rewrites with one of the most noticeable changes being that Camelone will not be a Roman Catholic country anymore but an Apostolic Catholic, think Western Orthodoxy, with a sizeable minority of Roman Catholics, Christian Fellows of Camelone, and non-Camelonean Protestants within the nation as well as the presence of a spiritual magic movement called Christian Druidism. I have already reworked some of the fiefs of Camelone and with a better understanding of the Medieval era I'm trying to make everything a little more sound and well less unrealistic. That is not to say there will not be some weirder changes as some of you may already know I love Lovecraftian type of stories and the supernatural stuff so the early age of Camelonean history, the Age of Legend, will be dripping with much more mythical and legendary things kind of inspired by a mixture of Norse and Irish mythology, Atlantean lore, the Daevites from the SCP Foundation, and some sprinkling of Lovecraft. I will still be a MT nation because these things will play out more in the background than foreground. I look forward to finishing up this rewrite sooner rather than later and jumping back into the swing of things. Thank you all again!
