Extension of Timerian Pipeline to enter Connerian Republic

Today, the Connerian Republic Department of Energy announced an agreement between the DoE and the Timerian-Assana Oil Company to extend the Sierra Hill VXT oil pipeline into the CR. Addressing reporters in the Capitol Building Press Room this morning, Secretary James Whitson stated that the extension would bring “increased prosperity to Timerians and Connerians alike.”

The move was unexpected, and according to insiders, came about after both Timerian government officials and TAOC executives approached Connerian leaders to ask for their blessing for the pipeline. After Connerian officials declined to block the pipeline, TAOC approached Connerian Energy Logistics (CEL) and Connerian Standard Oil (STO), who handled the deal from there.

Perhaps more interesting are the geopolitical implications of the pipeline. The Republic has been barred from joining any sort of military alliance since the end of the Great War, when the first Republican Congress adopting a policy of neutrality to speed along an end to sanctions. Whether the pipeline with Cardinal Pact-aligned Timeria represents a shift towards the Pact remains to be seen.

This development comes as scientists from the Republic and Atmora have been confirmed to be collaborating on an as-of-now unnamed project.

HMS Tseshaht intercepts Timerian pirate radio ship

Today, HMS Tseshaht a Type 63 class frigate more commonly known as the Nuu-chah-nulth class frigate has intercepted the NGO pirate radio ship from Free World, while Captain Lazarus of the Tseshaht has stated that Marines haven't board the vessel yet it is following the vessel closing making sure it doesn't cross into Wecovian sovereign waters.

As part of the newly established Commonwealth's Eastern Command, the HMS Tseshaht an escort of the HMS Lieseltania flagship of the Carrier Battlegroup sent to Weco following the Timerian breach of Wecovian airspace and it's extrajudicial killing of a Wecovian citizen, are deployed with additional units from the Fourth Fleet to ensure the continued independence and stability of Weco.

Foreign Minister Eaton has commented on the situation in Weco denouncing Free World, for it's inappropriate behaviour. While the Foreign Minister sympathises with the NGO on improving the quality of life in Weco especially through democratisation, has believes it is inconsiderate to call for revolution after a bloody civil war just ravaged the nation months ago. Now is not the time for separation and revolts, the time is for unity and cooperation. Alexandria will continue to work with Rache to ensure the Cardinal Pact remains out of Weco at all costs, in addition to improving the quality of life for Weco through business investments and foreign aid. Alexandria however has stated it will not force Rache to democratise but does support the idea. Furthermore the Foreign Minister has requested that Infinity to stop inflaming the already tension situation in Weco and to work with Alexandria for a common goal liberty and democracy.

President Sterling Strong Words for Rache

President Sterling had strong words to offer tonight as new threats from Atmora rise, causing concern for many. Infinity has officially denounced their government and has confirmed to looking into sanctions against Atmora. President Sterling stated that "We will not continue to be threatened and blamed and embarrassed on the international stage." This comes in a time of increased tension as the civilian ship from the Free World Organization sails through Weco propagating democracy and independence in Eastern Weco. President Sterling confirmed that Infinity has nothing to do with the ship's activity and encouraged it to return to its homeports as it's unknown what Atmoran forces will do. Timerian media isn't controlled by the government and cover stories what stories they wish. "A government run fan club[Atmoran press] to boost popularity and misinform its citizens" as Timeria Today's analysis Barret Cole described the Atmoran press.

Secretary of State Aurélio Braga responded to Atmora's Foreign Minister when asked at a press conference, saying that "Any accusation of Timeria 'inflaming tensions' is completely ludicrous. I encourage the Foreign Minister to stop spreading fake news and reach out to me if he has any concerns; instead of running to the press like a failing popstar."

Timeria Responds With Action

Following deterring relations with the Atmoran government, Timeria has changed its stance and will respond to aggression from Atmora. The Kingdom of Timeria will officially impose sanctions on Atmoran oil, rare earth minerals, foodstuff, and mobile devices. Atmora continues to provoke and make false and malicious statement that concerns the Timerian government. Their continued military aggression has also raised concern around Infinity. There are currently no checks on the President power to launch a preemptive strike if he sees the need and President Sterling has yet to rule of military action. The Air Force has forward deployed 10 of its stealth attack aircraft and 2 spy planes to a base in Hansa and the Navy has announced a new patrol deployment being established in the Artic. Starting January 1st, 1993 Timerian ships will patrol the arctic waters and the straits leading into the Assana.

Timeria has also established an air identification zone in the East Assana, which will be enforced by Naval and Air elements. This comes in a time where it's more important than ever to protect the Assana and identify threats before they reach Timeria. To the West CP members are ready to support Timeria and intercept any threats, while Timeria is responsible for intercepting threats originating in the East.

Atmoran Armed Forces Conducts Freedom of Navigation Operations!

Today, Defence Minister Jan Liezen has made a public announcement that Alexandria will not take the actions by Infinity and Westerkwartier laying down, Alexandria will not be pushed and bullied around for improving the lives of Vozhians, Novistraneses, and Wecovians to stop the spread of communism in Halkeginia. Time and time again Infinity and Westerkwartier have resorted to provoking and further inflaming issues between Alexandria, instead of sitting down with Alexandria and talking things out like Veridia is doing.

Alexandria will take all actions necessary to avoid an armed conflict but if push comes to shove Alexandria will not back down from defending itself. As such later today 3 Flower class air defence frigates and the Royal Vozhian Navy's VPS Elisaveta II (DDG-001) and VPS Vyatich the Great (FFH-619) will be leaving port at Saint Annasberg to conduct a 3 week Freedom of Navigation Operations in the Assana, the Imperial Navy is ready for Timerian interception but has stated the frigates will not leave the Assana for it's their god-given right to navigate the open seas.

and HMS Haisla and the RVN's VPS Kidar (FFG-112) will be leaving port at Stormhaven with their destination for the Southern sea between Irav and Valian however the Imperial Navy has stated that the three Commonwealth frigates will be turning back at the Strait of Irav but will be conducting a 1 week FON operations there inclusion with patrols.

Furthermore the Citadel has deployed two El Bridget B-78 Statrofortresses to conduct Freedom of Navigation Operations in the Assana Ocean and further 2 Stratofortesses will be deployed from IFB Stormhaven to conduct FON operations near Hansa and Irav. The Citadel has commented that these bomber aircraft will not fly into Iravian or Hansa airspace but will be as close as international law allows them to be.

Timerian Navy has been deployed to the Assana to intercept the Atmoran task force operating in the area. They will follow the ships and keep tabs on Atmoran activity in the area. The Navy is highly concerned with the deployment of Atmoran vessels so close to Timerian waters. Among the ships being deployed in the newly constructed KTS Shikadai Nara a stealth frigate capable of engaging both air and sea targets. The ships stealth design is the first of its kind and will make it difficult for the Atmoran Navy to track its movements from a distance. Along with the ship will be 2 Sage-class destroyers built around the Sukai Combat System. The task force has been put under the command of Captain Leonard Mills.

Today Colonel Marja Sitova, veteran of the Blood River Wars, has demonstrated the fighting capably of the Royal Aerospace Militia against an Iravian target today. An Iravian Maritime Patrol Aircraft flying near Vozhsk airspace was successfully turned back after Colonel Sitova successully achieved a radar lock on the Iravian pilot. She escorted the interloper 20 km out to sea before returning to shore for refueling.

The Defense Commissariat has announced plans to Award Colonel Sitova with a medal, for her demonstration of combat flying prowess. Surely this will give the Iravians something to think about before contemplating any more aggression against the Vozhsk people.

Video footage was revealed today showing Vozhian attack, fighter and bomber aircrafting swarming Iravian warships in a simulated attack run on the Cardinal Pact's task force currently heading north through the Wecovian sea. Hroljehrad has commented that a total of 17 Vozhian aircraft took part in the simulated attack runs on the Cardinal Pact today to warn them that any further aggressive actions towards the Halkeginian Commonwealth will be met in kind.

It has been reported that the Vozhian aircraft flew close enough that supposedly the Iravian sailors could see the Vozhian pilots flipping them off as they made flybys. Undeterred by Iravian radio hails to pull off, the Vozhian airmen called their bluff as their unarmed aircraft flew by. The final radio transmission from the Vozhian aircraft to the CP task force was from Colonel Viktor Kozlov who sarcastically said "Good luck!" before the Iravians lost radio contact with the fighters as they returned to their base in Western Weco.

In addition to the Vozhians buzzing CP warships, a Commonwealth task force is shadowing the CP fleet has it makes it's way through the sea. Alexandria is sending a clear message to the Cardinal Pact that the Commonwealth will not be threatened by the want to-be world police.

Last night the Kingdom Space Agency launched the Manticore rover aboard a Trinity IV heavy-lift rocket. Launched from the Hamura Space Center a crowd gathered to see the rocket as it headed towards Mars, the journey is expected to take 10 months. Once landed the Manticore rover will conduct investigations of the planet and send data back to the space center. Scientists have been preparing for this mission for years and lead Scientist Dr. Asaad Gardner stated that "We've been preparing for over 8 years and we're all happy to see our work reach this point. We aren't done yet but we've reached an important milestone that deserves to be celebrated."

While this isn't the first Mars launch the Manticore rover is unique as it will travel further than any Timerian probe ever and will investigate Mar's suitability to sustain life. This is the first step in the KSA's plan for a manned mission to Mars. Many within the KSA see Mars as the next step toward becoming a multiple planetary species. This small step will hopefully prove successful as the Manticore has a difficult trip ahead. The satellite Dragon 3 currently orbiting the planet has identified a landing zone and will work to ensure the success of the Manticore mission. This mission comes in a time where the Democratic Union has been searching to find supporters within the Congress to increase funding of the KSA. The party has long been a supporter of the KSA and other scientific departments of the government that don't receive much attention. The Democratic Union also proposed a bill that would decrease regulation of private missions and launched ffrom the private sector.

The city of Winston stood at a halt today. The city as well as the whole nation watched as we roped in a new era. This morning, Crown Prince Aleksandr Wessex I officially laid claim to the title of King in a ceremony costing upwards of fifty million dollars and hours of our lives. A ceremony including input from influential clergymen, political leaders, and of course now King-Father George Wessex I was the main attraction for the day. The coronation was immediately followed by a traditional military parade led by His Majesty himself.

The circumstances surrounding the coronation, however, have been rather grim. It was only a year ago that King George was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. Recently it seemed he would survive and continue to reign despite pressure to step down... until the diagnosis became terminal through a statement released by Winston Palace. Through a later TV aired statement, he officially abdicated ending a 50 year reign as King. Shocking and shaking a nation.

Questions have been raised however at the competency of the new and young king. At only 24, he is the youngest to hold the throne and does so in a shock circumstance. He's been giving the full backing of his family and the Prime Minister to become a formidable successor to his father. Only time will tell but we must always have faith in our King. Long live the king. May he lead this great nation to glory.

Secretary of Education Savannah Barton's New Education Initiative

Today the Department of Education will start the implementation of the New Timerian Education System. This plan has been in the work over the course of 2 years led by Secretary of Education Savannah Barton. Savannah Barton a former educator was selected by President Sterling to led the Department. The new initiative is in line with President Sterling's 21st Century Transition plan and will go into effect on August 15th, 1995 when student across the country return to school for a new year. The new initiative's goals are to produce students that are prepared to handle the challenges of the 21st Century and drive Timeria forward.

The New Timerian Education System will nationalize public schools and Universities across the country. The new system will also change the way schools operate and provide students with a voice in their education. One of the most radical changes is that High School and MIiddle School students now have the ability to elect their principles. Students will also have a say in curriculum, staff hiring, and meals. More specialized schools will also be built around the country and schools in rural area will receive increased resources to provide a broader education for their students.

While Elementary student won't receive the same benefits there has been a major shift in the objective of primary education. Schools will now focus on more critical early childhood skills and work to support the expansion of the young mind. There will be more focus on establishing a healthy and keen mind and ensuring preparedness for the next level.

Schools will also see an increased reliance on technology in the classroom. Secretary Barton stated that "We want our students to be prepared for the importance technology will play on their lives in the future. This generation will be the first to have such technology at their hands and playing such a big role in their lives." The new initiative will place a computer in every classroom and increase the school's ability to acquire new technology.

Also starting with the initiative is the implementation of free public universities for most Timerians. The new system will see that all students currently enrolled, graduated by May 1st, 1990, and enrolled 3 years following graduation from High School receive a free education at all public universities. There will also be new graduation requirements and higher standards from some professions. One change that stood out to most is the new study abroad graduation requirements. Timeria has just recently started to flirt with the international stage and many have come to accept that it will play a big role in the future of Timeria. Currently, only 15% of Timerians hold an active passport and Secretary Barton hopes that this will improve and better Timerian ties abroad. At the ceremony, Secretary Barton was asked what she hopes the New Timerian Education System will achieve she responded
"I hope that it will help our young Timerian achieve more and be their best selves. I have 3 children myself that attend public school and I wouldn't support this plan if I didn't think it was in their best interest. When President Sterling called me in to talk about the possibility of me become Secretary of Education I told him ' I've seen what needs to be done and that under me the Department would push a plan that would be in line with his 21st Centruty Transition plan'... and I told him ' It'll be in line with your plan but it'll be for the students, for the youth, for the future of Timeria.' I let him know that my first duty is to the student of this country."

Brühl shocks the nation

Two gay lovers kiss as the Parliament of Lieseltania legalises gay marriage

In a move that shocked the nation, at 13:34 local time the Parliament of Lieseltania gathered today to make a momentous decision that would decide that fate of the gay community in the Atmoran Empire. The ANVP controlled Parliament held a vote on the Lieseltanian Fair Marriage Act of 1992 in which the Parliament passed the bill in a 67-23 vote and subsequently passed through the Lieseltanian Senate by a majority vote. Louis Chapman and Joe Terry were the first gay couple in Lieseltania and the nation to be granted a marriage licence.

The fight for marriage equality in Lieseltania all started in 1989 when the Lieseltanian Justice Matthew Knight ruled against gay marriage, citing it was not allowed under the Atmoran constitution, and that the federal government should make an amendment, unsatisfied with Lieseltania Supreme Court's ruling activists made an appeal to Lieseltanian Court of Appeals however the Judges ruled against it. In a final move to gain marriage equality the activists petitioned Minister-president Noelle Velderman to bring the topic to the Provincial legislative assembly. And in a vote that shocked the nation, the Conservative provincial government granted the LGBT community marriage equality, future bills to be voted on in the Provincial Parliament is the Family act, which would allow gay couples the right to adopt children.

Now the question remains as Lieseltania goes, so goes the nation? LGBT activists are unsure if they should focus on the other 16 provinces or if they should use their momentum to bring the discussion to Parliament Hill in Alexandria. It is unknown how the more Conservative parliament led by Chancellor Lyria would vote on the legislation.

TENSIONS RISE BETWEEN ROYALLY UNITED PROVINCES, LORACIA, IRAV AND HELETICA

Seven times since the start of the new year an incident has taken place between Heletica and one of its three larger neighbours as tensions over disputed territory have flared up once again. Yesterday a protest by people known as the Gaikoku people, a Loracian minority in southern Heletica, was violently broken up. Any calls for more autonomy from the national government were silenced when riot police and military units became involved to break up an increasingly more violent crowd. At the end of the day three protestors were killed by Heletican authorities and a further sixty-three were wounded.

This incident is only the latest in a string of actions that have been taken by the Heletican government. On the twenty-fifth of May government sponsored rebel groups were caught committing acts of terrorism against federal and civilian targets in the heavily disputed Schinkel region in eastern Irav. Here drive-by shootings of police stations, emergency services, and civilian areas were a common sight for the better part of three weeks. Before a combination of police and military units managed to restore some kind of order in the province.

The Royally United Provinces to the north and east and experienced their own difficulties in dealing with the Heletican government and the terrorist organisations that it harbours. The Provite border region Newlea has been in a state of constant unrest after local authorities had declared martial law on the fourth of May, following a multiple week long plague of car bombings, shootings, and other terrorist activities in the area. Order has been reinstated by the Provite authorities who made short work of the perpetrators.

Loracia, Irav, and the Royally United Provinces have all previously declared to hold the Heletican government responsible for these incidents after links between the national government and the terrorist organisations Legión de Hierro and ZvdV were discovered by the Iravian Highlanders in April of this year.

Days after the Highlanders published their findings the trinity of Loracia, the Royally United Provinces, and Irav responded by all ratifying and signing the Valkenburg declaration. This declaration states that all three countries will support each others actions against the Heletican government, might it be defensively or offensively.

Now that the killing of the three Gaikoku students yesterday still fresh in the minds of the Loracian people, the calls for war have been roaring up once again, this time backed by the Valkenburg declaration. Hours after the protests were broken up and the students had been legally declared dead the Loracian government declared their intentions for a declaration of war against the Heletican nation to both the Provites and Iravians.

The declaration of war against Heletica passed through the Loracian Shinku, Provite Senate, and Iravian Staten Generaal with minor opposition.

Loracian airstrikes in southern Heletica

The Loracian government was the first to extend their declaration of war to the Heletican government at 08:37 on the twenty-eighth of June. Both the Royally United Provinces and the Iravians provided theirs on 09:12 and 09:24 of the same day respectively, declaring a state of war between Heletica and the trinity within fifty minutes of each other. Before 10 o’clock the Air Forces of the Royally United Provinces, Irav, and Loracia have been conducting the first airstrikes of an extended campaign.

Prior to the declaration of war the Chiefs-of-Staff of the three countries had agreed on a combined strategy to combat the Heletican armed forces. With over 500.000 active personnel the Heletican Army is one of the smaller armies in the region, but still remains as a formidable fighting force, although they are heavily outnumbered by the more numerous Provite, Loracian, and Iravian armies.

Around the same time as that the Senate, Shinku, and Staten Generaal submitted their respective declarations of war, the military began conducting low-altitude airstrikes on the military airfields closer to the borders. These strikes were frightingly effective the Provite military destroying seventy-four aircraft on the ground, the Loracian military destroying sixty-eight, and the Iravian United Forces destroying eighty-three aircraft.

With the Heletican Air Force heavily handicapped the high-intensity airstrikes continued with impunity, with the Iravians striking at anything of importance west of the river Astor, the Provite Air Force striking at infrastructure and military targets to the east of that river, and the Loracian military taking out targets south of the fifth parallel. Neither infrastructure nor barracks, nor armoured formations were spared in these tactical airstrikes and within the first three days of the war much of the former formidable Tank Corps was reduced to smoldering ashes.

In an incident that was named the Highway to Hell, the Royally United Provinces obliterated the entirely of the XVII Armoured Corps. After their retreat from the Provite border to retreat to safer positions they were spotted by a reconnaissance aircraft, after which fighter aircraft were directly redirected to their location. Within minutes the strike aircraft were upon the division and striking at the retreating vehicles and columns of troops left and right. At the end of the day in excess of three-thousand vehicles were destroyed and more than fifteen-thousand soldiers were killed by Provite airstrikes.

Their coalition partners found much of the same successes. In the opening days of the war the United Forces Iravian Navy was successful in sinking and disabling most of the Heletican Navy it’s northern fleet. In a campaign that took three to four days the Iravian navy was successful in sinking seventy-two out of one-hundred-and-five total naval assets. The few Iravian arsenal ships were shown to be frightingly successful in this role. The UFSC Rotturmerplaat was able to take out the one operational Heletican carrier battlegroup (CBG) with a series of well-placed salvos. The entire Battle of the Noord Zee was a decisive Iravian/Provite victory in under four days.

With most of the military virtually non-existent or heavily damaged the coalition armies were called upon to begin the ground campaign. In what would be a one-hundred hours long campaign the armies of the Irav, the Royally United Provinces, and Loracia displayed their brilliance. Though it was here that the Loracian Army that excelled far above that of their allies. Where the armies of the Royally United Province and Irav were efficient in pushing back what remained of the Heletican Armies, the Loracians army took much of what still remained.

At 18:53 on the seventh of July, two-hundred-twenty-six hours after the initial declaration of war, and 97 hours after the beginning of the land campaign, Loracian military authorities reported having encircled the entirety of the third Heletican army in what they called the ‘’Ōkina hōi’’. With seventy-five to eighty-thousand troops encircled, this later turned out to be one of the greatest military encirclements in the last thirty years. Shortly before the Loracians sealed the fate of the Third Army the Provite and Iravian armies shook hands at the Astor river, effectively capitulating the country.

A formal cease-fire was signed between the representatives of Heletica, the Royally United Provinces, Loracia, and Irav on the eighth of July at 13:49. All in all the war only lasted a whole 245 hours from the declaration of war on the morning of the twenty-eighth of June to the eighth of July.

One day after the official capitulation of the Heletican Army the Conference of Diósgyõr began, here the representatives of the coalition (the Royally United Provinces, Loracia and Irav) could impose their peace terms on the Heletican government. That had well and truly been beaten in the ‘’Hundred Hour Campaign’’. With the government captured by Loracian troops, the army beaten in the field, and the country under the occupation of the coalition they could impose any punishment they saw fit.

Where the Heletican representatives had a fair peace conference in mind where a heavy punishment would be imposed on them, the three coalition partners had a different plan in mind. The Iravian representative Lourens Vervoort was the first to inform their Heletican counterpart Dénes Orban about the plan to partition the entire country between the victors. According to eye-witness reports Orban tried to throw a punch at Vervoort before storming out of the room emotionally.

After the first incident the conference was temporarily suspended for the day, though both the Heletican representatives and the representatives of the coalition agreed to resume it in the afternoon. After the conference was resumed the Heletican delegation spent all the time that they had left for the day to talk the Loracians, Provites, and Iravians out of partition the country. Though this attempt too ended in vain and the conference was suspended for the remainder of the day as emotions again began running high.
The Conference of Diósgyõr was concluded on the second day of negotiations. Diplomats from all involved parties met again at the occupational headquarters, although the Provite representative Ezekiel McKinney appeared immovable in his position. After another hour of negotiating and without much protest emotions again began getting the better of some in the Heletican delegation as their country was about to be torn up. Not to be outdone Vervoort, McKinney, and Ueda canceled the negotiations and informed the men that the partition was to be done as previously explained.

At the request of the Loracian representative, Ryota Ueda, the Heletican diplomats were removed from the negotiations without further discussion. Representative Péter Kovácsik, before being removed, said one last thing to insult the coalition representatives: ’’I would prefer to fail with honour, than win by cheating.’’ Provite representative McKinney simply replied ’’You’ve wasted your chance at a fair and even playing field when you sponsored the deaths of my countrymen.’’.

With the Conference of Diósgyõr concluded, the partition of the country is now in full effect. Loracian, Provite, and Iravian soldiers have retreated to their respective zones of occupation. Attention is now shifted to the rebuilding of the country, and restoring order in what has become of Heletica. Under the new guidance of these three countries it is hoped that the people can recover quickly.

The Fourth Prince of the Valton Dynasty , Charles of New Malevot decide by himself without his father intervention to visit Atmoran country, the young Prince wants to find a good candidate to be his wife. This decision is because his older brothers and sisters they already married feeling jealousy about it.
The Prince will go in a private jet called "Speed High" in his travelling to find the best candidate in the Royal Atmoran Court to be his lover and finally his wife.

Timerian Military Data Leaked to Public

The military has scrambled to find the source of a leak that exposed classified government operations and facilities. It's currently unknown where the leaks originated but news networks across the globe have been covering the incident all day. President Sterling has yet to speak on the situation but Press Secretary Kathryn Bates has confirmed he is aware of the situation. The leaks have confirmed the existence of various black ops teams, special forces, and classified bases.

The most talked about has been the various bases Timeria operates overseas and their purpose. Following the election of President Sterling Timeria has transitioned to being active on the global stage. During his presidency Timerian Armed Forces have operated from a number of overseas bases. One in particular Burning Temple which is a key component in the KSU's (Kingdom Security Unit) global intelligence gathering operations. The base is part of the SAGE program connecting multiple bases in Arden, Malevor, and Timeria which form a collection and analysis network that cover the entire globe. SAGE is a surveillance program that monitors military and diplomatic communications. This has raised concerns of many citizens as it could be used to monitor Timerians. While there is a base in Timeria; the largest is found in Arden. Burning Temple is responsible for monitoring activity around the Loracian Canals and the CoN.

Also in the leaks which have concerned Timerians the most is the cooperation between the government and the Imera Sect. The Imera Sect has long been accused of training teens to become elite operators. Samurai program, its official name has shown data connecting it to operations in Weco, Fleecia, and international waters. While there is no direct evidence it is safe to assume that these operators begin training at a young age. A report showed that the lead on a Samurai operation in the Assana was only 20 years old and the youngest being 18. Many find it impossible that an elite operator could have started training only months before joining the elite team.

Also included in the leaks was direct evidence of deployments of ANBU teams to Weco and a Samurai operation in Fleecia during the Malevorian-Fleecian War. This has raised concerns about President Sterling's background in the military and his use of unconventional tactics. President Sterling served in the Army during the World War but much about his service is unknown. When documents about his services were requested much of the information was classified. This included multiple unknown deployments and unit assignments, the same thing was also found with Vice-President Harper's documents. Both were part of the Army's Situation Control & Administering Special Force Unit during the war.

This new leak has raised concerns amongst Timerian in our role on the international stage, while 64% of Timerians surveyed supported the SAGE program our study found that 87% are concerned about the future use of the program and its potential use to monitor Timerians. Following the leak, the government has delayed the launch of the EK34 satellite.

This election took place after the suspected resignation of the former president as he was on a diplomatic trip abroad. Laure Neville is now on a steady rise to power. And it is unknown whether she will fulfil her promises to the Volio People.

Onyx Military Exercises

Today, member nations of the Onyx Pact, a sub-pact of CP, are conducting a massive military exercise by a Combined Joint Task Force. The exercise includes military forces from the respective nations of Volians, Grand Malevor, and Alrobia. The objective of the exercise is to train each other's militaries by discovering strategies and developing new tactics, and to also show the world that the Onyx Pact nations are a force to be reckoned with.

"Just like old adage goes: If you want peace, prepare for war. Being ready anytime is vital for our nations and is the key to defense. Volians and Grand Malevor have been our most important allies since the very beginning, we do not want to risk losing them because of their strategic importance, and we certainly do not want to let down our greatest friends that helped us through the years sincerely." - Prime Minister Itami in an interview

The 5th Infantry Division, 7th Armored Division, 1st Airborne Brigade, and the Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade of Alrobia will participate the exercise as well as its Escort Squadron 1, 11th Escort Division, 1st Replenishment-at-Sea Squadron, Submarine Squadron 1, and the Fleet Air Wing 1 will also play a part in the training. Volians is partaking with its 9th Royal Legion, 1st VAF Squadron, 1st Navy Fleet, and its 7th Navy Fleet. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Divisions of the First Malevorian Army under General Heinrich and the Fourth Imperial Fleet under Almirant Albert are also participating from Grand Malevor.

Tonight was the match of a lifetime as the national teams of the Royally United Provinces and Irav met each other for the first time this year in the Valhalla stadium in Valkenburg. The stadium, which can house up to 372.592 supporters, roared to life as the supporters of both sides cheered as their respective teams came onto the pitch. And while both teams are seen as two of the best in the world, the eyes of the world were upon the strikers Isaac van der Heijde and Santiago Alarcon who are both widely regarded as the best strikes in the world.

Though the match was only a friendly to prepare both teams for the 1992 World Cup, the teams were playing like this could be a world cup final. And the fans gave standing ovations to match. The Royally United Provinces took a quick lead when Santiago Alarcon scored an excellent header after a terrific cross from Castro Ayala in the fourteenth minute. After the first goal by Alarcon both the Iravian and Provite players created plenty of chances, but here the skill and expertise of the goalkeepers Kaiser and Voordenhout stood in the way. Until nearly half-time when in the forty-third minute Alarcon managed to go one on one with Andries Voordenhout and scored a relatively simple 0-2 for his team.

In the second half the Iravian team came back into the match, after Tijl van der Heijde took the ball through a laser-guided pass from the midfielder Guus Kreuse. Van der Heijde from outside of the penalty box managed to place the ball in the upper right corner of the goal and make it 1-2 in the fifty-ninth minute of the game. The Iravian team proceeded to play a possession based tactic in an attempt to force a second goal. Van der Heijde managed to score his second of the evening in the eighty-second minute after a cross from Hubrecht Keizer landed right in front of his feet. He then proceeded to let loose with a shot that went underneath the legs of Provite defender Ismail McCabe and just out of range of keeper Kierion Kaiser.

Shortly before the end of the game the Provite winger Luka Daniels took a free kick from just outside of the penalty area. Although the shot was excellent and was heading for the upper left corner of the goal, Iravian goalkeeper Andries Voordenhout stopped the shot by pulling of a miraculous save and tipping it over the crossbar. With the last chance of the game blocked by the goalkeeper the referee blew his whistle and the game was over. Both teams having given everything they had.

In the post-game interview the Provite striker Santiago Alarcon said: ’’We had the chances, but so did they. It was incredibly even and yeah, if you want to win you need to score those goals. Unfortunately we missed some chances, but so did they. It was a good game and I think we did really well.’’

The left-midfielder of the Iravian team Rinus Doornbosch was also asked for his opinion: ’’I believe there was a victory in it for us, but unfortunately we couldn’t make it happen. The opponent had a strong defense and it was just really hard to get through it. I think the score was a good reflection of the game.’’

Both teams will now focus on the 1992 Terra Magna World Cup that is about to begin. The World Cup this year is a collaboration between the Royally United Provinces, Loracia, and Irav. During the tournament games will be played in all three countries, with matches played in most major stadiums. The World Cup final has already been rumoured to take place in the Valhalla Stadium in Irav, where this game too took place.

Timeria Changing as the 21st Century Approaches

The Timerian economy continues to grow as we enter a new year. Under President Sterling Timeria has entered a new era of economic growth as the new administration continues to make strides in its globalization efforts. This year alone the GDP per capita moved up to ☫23,450 as more money flows through Timeria and people begin to spend their money more freely. Companies have experienced growth as they continue to expand into new markets. While the oil industry continues to grow the EPA limited growth as they officially banned drilling in The Malarnola Gulf. Even with the ban the industry still saw growth with the expansion into other markets and the extension of the Sierra Hill VXT oil pipeline in the Connerian Republic. Timeria's Cardinal Pact membership seems to have been a good move by President Sterling as 65% of Timerian feel that the Cardinal Pact is beneficial to Timeria and should remain full members. This has also opened Timeria up to other CP member companies as they move into the Timerian market. San Loma has been experiencing exponential growth as tech companies continue to move into the area.

As wealth grows many people hope that those living in poverty will see an improved standard of living. With about 20 million Timerian living in poverty newly elected Senator Bryan Thompson hopes to see the wealth divided more equally. Senator Thompson represents the Northern Administrative Region's 35th electoral district. Many people in this district live in the slums of North Kai's Bian Heights district. Senator Thompson has advocated for higher wages, public investment, and easier access to Timeria's Family System.

Many experts predict that poverty in Timeria could be on a decline as job growth skyrockets. The new agreement between Eumia and Neyos could also be a sign of this shift. Jobs within the agricultural sector are steadily being populated with more seasonal workers from Eumia and Neyos. As Timerians move to more skilled and higher paying jobs the demand for agricultural workers is still there as demand for Timerian foodstuff grows. Recently new legislation was passed to ease the process of seasonal workers moving to Timeria and allows more from both Eumia and Neyos. Many of these workers are hired by companies to work during peak season and usually house them until the end of the season. Many people from Neyos and Eumia make a living doing this and use this money to support their families year round.

With more money, Timerians continue to have more children. Family and childbearing have long been an important part of Timerian culture and Timerians have one of the highest fertility rates in the world at 3.46. This number continues to rise and Timeria's population is expected to reach 165 million by March of next year. This coupled with an increased number of migrants seeking economic opportunities has many in government scrambling to find a solution. So far the solution many are looking at is putting tighter restrictions on immigration. In 1991 an estimated 540,000 immigrants entred Timeria both legally and illegally. This has many concerned as to how Timeria can sustain this type of population growth as experts expect 1992 numbers to be larger and 1993 numbers to be historically large. While there has been open debate and widespread analysis of the situation no plan has been formulated as of yet.

Bataan Nuclear Accident

A critical excursion occured in a uranium reprocessing facility operated by ANFC (Alrobia Nuclear Fuel Conversion Co.), a subsidiary of Sajinatomo Electronic Equipment Co. in Bataan Prefecture, Pravda. The accident occured as three workers were preparing a small batch of fuel for an experimental fast breeder reactor. It was ANFC's first batch of fuel for the reactor in seven years, and no proper qualification and training requirements appear to have been established to prepare those workers for the job. At around 8:35, a precipitation tank reached critical mass when its fill level, containing about 16 kilograms of uranium, reached about 40 liters.

Criticality was reached upon the technicians adding a seventh bucket of an aqueous uranyl nitrate solution to the tank. The nuclear fission chain reaction became self-sustaining and began to emit intense gamma and neutron radiation. At the time of the criticality event, a worker had his body draped over the tank while another worker stood on a platform to pour the solution into it; a third worker was sitting at a desk four meters away. All three technicians observed a blue flash and gamma-radiation alarms sounded. The workers immediately experienced pain, nausea, difficulty breathing, and other symptoms. A technician then began to vomit in the decontamination room a few minutes later and lost consciousness shortly after. Fission products began contaminating the building.

Seven hours after the start of the criticality, evacuation commenced of some 170 people from 40 households within a 400-meter radius from the conversion building. Residents will be allowed home three days later with sandbags and other shielding to protect from residual gamma radiation. Twelve hours after the start of the incident residents withing 10 km were asked to stay indoors as a precautionary measure, and this restriction was lifted following afternoon.

Civil Unrest in Novistrana

The Communist Party of Novistrana have started riots in the Novistranese capital of Visegrad and across the country today, as the National Guard of Novistrana attempt to reestablish law and order in the city. CPN started the protest against Novistranese President General Oleksandr Kyrylenko, who in 1987 ended the Novistranese Civil War against the Nationalist army and the People's Liberation Army by meeting with Chancellor Lyria to secure Atmoran backing and reinforcements, by 1985 Atmoran and Larsenburg soldiers arrived in Novistrana and by October 1987 the PLA was routed.

The protest began near the Independence Monument, built to honour the country's independence from the Atmoran Empire in 1953, around 45,000 protesters gathered around the monument to protest the illegitimacy of President Kyrylenko and his government. By 14:35 local time as the movement grew to 65,000 protesters the National Guard moved in to handle the keep an eye on the protesters, a stand off and protester made road blockades to stop the deployment of government forces in Visegrad. By 17:47 local time Bridgadier General Novikov authorised the National Guard to use less-than lethal rounds and water hoses to suppress the rioters as reporters of widespread looting and and vandalism around the Independence Monument.

As situations only seem to getting worse and the plausible return of hostilities between the Nationalist and Communists forces in Novistrana, Alexandria is preparing to send Lord Valkenhorst's Fifth Army and Commonwealth Security Forces to reestablish public order if things cannot be contained by the Armed Forces of Novistrana by mid-January 1994.

Foreign Office Begins Process to Join the IU

Elise Eaton, Minister of Foreign Affairs has informed Secretary-General of the International Union that Alexandria is interested in joining in order to work towards world peace. For too long without a proper international forum to debate humanity has waged wars. And as the doomsday clock looms closer to midnight, Alexandria has pledged it will work with Timeria and the international community in order to ensure that the likes of the Great War in the 20th century the most destructive war in human history is not repeated.

Chancellor Lyria fully backs the Foreign Office to begin the process to join the IU. For it is in line with the greater Lyria plan. In which Alexandria does something that no other nation has the gall to do bring peace to Halkeginia. For centuries Halkeginia was at war with each other. Decades of colonialism and warfare has token a toll on Halkeginia's poorest nations; Novistrana, Vozh and Weco.

And ever since Lyria took the Chancellery, peace has come to Halkeginia, Atmora and Vozh are close allies and trading partners, and cause of that is it expected that by 2000 Vozh will join the trillion GDP club. Novistrana is while it is currently in a civil unrest has achieved record breaking economic growth. Wecovian economy is growing, civil unrest was peacefully resolved through the Commonwealth Security Force. There is still more to be done an ambitious plan for the Foreign Office is begin gradual democratisation though unlike certain powers out there, Alexandria will not force it. While many scoff at Alexandria for pursuing a foreign policy that focuses on growing Halkeginia in order to be peers with the rest of the world. We will not be undetermined to improve the lives of every Halkeginian even in the face of misinformation and aggression from Irav who wishes to see the rest of Halkeginia remain stagnant and powerless. Despite what Westerkwartier says, Alexandria does not want war and never will want war, Alexandria only wishes for peace.

Chancellor Lyria has commented that her and the IU's values are the same and that is the further advancement of all nations and peoples, together with the IU we can make the world a safer and better place for the next generation.

At the time, the Island was hosting the negotiation talks between many high officials from Veriden, Including the High Minister, and many High Councilmen from Valian. This blackout of communications led to the Veridian government immediately launching a small task force to ensure the saftey of our officials on the island.

1 hour ago, that task force, while approaching the island of Ostrovul, was intercepted and attacked by the Valian carrier group Unity, resulting in the sinking of 2 destroyers and the total loss of their crews. At the same time, An all out attack on the Veridian-Valian border by Valian forces commenced, which, with its ferocity and savagery, threatens to overrun the current defenders.

Without a doubt, the nation of Valian, and presumably its allies within the Syndicalist League, has declared all out war upon not only Veriden, but her allies abroad in the Cardinal Pact. However, this war will be unlike any other in our nation's history. The scale of the assault has been most definitely planned to attempt to annihilate Veriden as a nation. Because of this, Veriden has no other choice but to declare war in return on the Syndicalist League. With this, Veriden will also invoke Article 1-A of the Cardinal Pact Defense Treaty, Calling all members of the Cardinal Pact Defensive Ring to arms against her foes.

To the people of Veriden: For nearly half a decade, we have struggled to truly bind the wounds wrought by the crisis of 1987. Yet today, we must overlook our differences and stand as one people, unified under one flag. For if we refuse and instead squabble between ourselves, It will surly lead to our demise. Valian brutally attacks Veriden!

In a incomprehensibly brutal string of attacks, Valian has launched a full scale military campaign against Veriden. Alongside a massive land campaign as well as an attack of a veridian naval force, Valian has seized the free micronation of Ostrovul, with many veridian officials trapped and presumed dead. Due to this, Veriden has been forced to not only declare war on Valian and its few allies, but more importantly, has been forced into the third time in history when article 1-A of the Cardinal Pact Defense Coalition, which calls all states to join into the conflict.

Although Veriden and Valian have been at peace for decades, the tension between the nations was never truly cut. Both viewed each other as their natural rival, and at times, enemy. Three times before the nations have gone to war, however this time it seems valian is out for blood. Although Veriden was caught partially off-guard, the guards on the borders are currently holding the valian initial force, although with varying levels of success.

It is unsure at the current moment what is happening abroad in the nations aligned with Valian, or what effect this has had on Veriden's allies. Only in the coming hours, days and weeks will anyone know the scale this war will reach. No matter the eventual scale of it, It seems the forth Volgian War, a event many wished would forever be just a nightmare, has finally commenced with extreme force.
