[The Selkie]

I smiled and deposited my plate where it needed to go.
Then, I went back to the entrance, where I ordered Bhuf to stay. He would usually, if he strayed, not stray too far. Maybe playing with some kid or the other, if they had frisbees or tennis-ball-sized balls and were playing with them. He never got up for food, though, I taught him that well enough after...
In any case, maybe a pretty girl caught his attention and he found a supplementary source for petting while I ate, that little traitor.
I grinned as I left through the front doors and prepared myself to see him with his lap in another girl's lap or something...
...only to find a few girls around my own age treating him to petting like a King, which he enjoyed immensely, especially the belly rubs.
I grinned.
"He's mine, yes.", I said to the girl, who had apparently left her Doberman back home, "But please, he seems to enjoy himself, so go ahead." I scratched him under the chin for a moment. "My over-sized puppy." I grinned at Fiore, then at the girl, settling down next to Bhuf and motioning for my newly found friends to settle down next to him as well. "So, you said, that you have a Doberman back home?"

"He's so cute!" She put her phone back into the belt of her uniform. "I do. His name is Charlie. We've had him since he was a puppy." she pulled her phone out again to show a picture of her Charlie. "See, he's mugging for the camera! He's such a silly dog! Dobermans are usually thought of as aggressive guard dogs but our Charlie he's too much of a softy. You give him a slice of ham he'll be putty in your hands. Oh anyway, I'm Bridget Honda. Sophomore. Are you both freshman?"

"Well, I am." Fiore replied, "But this is Mona she's an exchange student."

"Oooh well welcome to Kuronami, Mona and welcome to Redford ---!

"Oh, Fiore is fine."

"Fiore. Welcome both of you."

"Thank you, Bridget.", I said. Charlie really looked like a big, silly oversized puppy, much like a certain other canine rather close to us three. "What little I've seen of the country on my way here, it is beautiful. I'm sure, that Bhuf and I will have much fun walking the countryside." I smiled as he looked at me, becoming aware once more, that he was the only male in our female dominated world. "I plan on establishing a walkies-club for all the pet-owners with the pets here and everyone else interested..."
I trailed off with a hopeful smile.

"Thank you, Bridget.", I said. Charlie really looked like a big, silly oversized puppy, much like a certain other canine rather close to us three. "I bet you will. Glad you were able to bring your guy along with you! A walkies club huh? Mmmm you know I might be able to join that. I'm currently in Astronomy Club but I think I can squeeze in another club too."

"That'd be great" Fiore replied "We're both going to start it together. Given you're a sophomore having an older student would be a great help or just if you know others who might want to join."

"I'll ask some of the gals in my club. Give it time, the word will spread, a fair amount of girls here have their pets here. Might also want to connect with the Equestrian club too."

I beamed at the ideas.
"That'd be awesome!", I said to Bridget. The idea of having one or two older students along made sense as well, both due to the added experience and due to the added manpower. And, quite frankly, legitimacy. If many people had their pets along, all the better, for that made a potential basis of club members to recruit from. "Now, the equestrian club... that would be fun, too."
What can I say? I am a Selkie and although there were more skilled horsemen around, I still could ride a horse.
"But that's for the future. For now, let's get everything set up tomorrow.", I told them.

[Alsase]

"Oh well you know. No school is entirely perfect. You'll get your social cliques, sadly bullies sometimes are around. But it's a small enough school it's pretty easy to manage around here. Don't worry most of us are fine. Find a good club to join you'll make friends."

"Indeed, that is the harsh reality of things, but nonetheless I'm glad that your well-being is intact... and speaking of clubs, do you happen to know if there is a Performing Arts Club, Band to be specific Miss Elly?"

I beamed at the ideas.

Even Fiore cracked a little awkward laugh at it. "Anyway, drop by their booth tomorrow and let them know you're starting up a club for pet owners. Guaranteed you'll grab a few of them."

"Yikes. Pretty serious stuff. Glad it worked out." she sipped on her water. "Guess I had it a little easier. Both of my folks are locals so not much issue with culture clashing."

"Of course, and good for you. Eventually, she's been a wee bit more comical about making such statements, so I simply laughed it off, just like I did today. But, nonetheless, she would try to joke like that, and most, if not all, people would simply stare at her like statues in a museum. Of course, some of her jokes would be funny, but most are just right out disturbin'. I dinnae ken why, but that's just how she is. And don't make me tell you the one time she was joking about punching and abducting some kid of a friend of my parents, kicking him off the cliff, and making him fly like Peter Pan if he didn't stop runnin' about the house durin' a party."

Elizabeth shakes her head as if making the water from a shower fly from her hair.

"But, yeah. That's pretty much it with my mum. And she still doin' fine with my dad, despite the eccentricity.

She looks down at her plate to see that there are only two pieces of beef left.

"By the way, I never got to know your name," saying as she consumed a piece.

Keller was in the middle of eating her food, when another student arrived, asking her if she can sit next to her. "Sure. I was going to finish my meal, anyways. But you can still sit here." Keller said, still a bit nervous.

I must admit, that I tried my hand at it, too, but... let's just leave it at my results being less then stellar. I'm more comfortable on foot, both for martial arts and for travelling."
I let a beat pass.
"Though, one question...", I began, "...what did you mean by 'your kind'?"
From what I could see, Mary was a human like me.

I don't want to make a bad impression on my introductory."

Picking and opening it up, she sees the notifications of her friends from back from and from Korea liking her photographs on Photowire, and scrolling down the list of notifications, she sees a text from one of her Korean friends, telling her to chat on Skype later.

"Well, I'll be off to chill out for the rest of day, and you've got your student council duties to fulfill, if you have any. We'll meet again soon. Bye!"
