A loud whistle followed by a man calling, the local driver who split his time between shuttling elderly folks around and of course students to and from the school. "Attention all Redford Academy students, please line up and we will take you up to the school." It took a couple of shuttle buses to load everyone up but with the new batch of students they made the drive up to the school. It wasn't a terribly long drive, a few minutes but it gave a quick glance of the open scenic views. Once arrived several teachers called out "New students please follow to the Assembly Hall, returning students please report to Administration." It was repeated several times to ensure everyone heard it. The spacious assembly hall which also doubled as the school's gym was decorated to welcome new students banners put up by the student council. "Please file in and fill up each seat." the teachers directed guiding each student to a seat. Once settled in the school's headmistress took the podium allowing the students to quiet down. Thankfully they complied and she didn't have to use one of her more infamous tricks of getting attention.

"Welcome" She started then clearing her throat "Welcome to The Redford Academy for Young Ladies. I am Headmistress Chessman. Now I'll spare you the long history lesson because ideally you've read your student handbooks. You know and I know this school's long history of tradition and prestige but that's not what's important. Your education is what is. This year is special because this year we're welcoming a great amount of students all over the world. We hope your time here will go into shaping who you will be in your future. Some may be leaders of companies or nations, some will be mothers others will give care. Some of you may stay a semester others may walk on stage here to take your diplomas. Respect each other, learn from each other, support each other. We're excited to have you, thank you. Now may I introduce to you, your Student Council President who yes happens to be my own daughter, Elly-Mae Chessman."

A young lady took the podium after her mother stepped aside. "Thank you Headmistress. Welcome new students, I'm Elly-Mae and I am the Student Council President. When I started I was a quiet unassuming freshman. Then Student President Miyako Sawai an outgoing and friendly Sophomore, encouraged me to sign up. And so I did. Before long I was the Student Treasurer. Ensuring all funds from the School Student Store were properly accounted for. And for a while I was pretty at home there. But Miyako saw a lot in me. When she was getting ready to graduate she said I should run for president. And here I am today. I was born and raised here in this town but many of you like Miyako have come from far greater distances. In her case a Provence just to the east of us, for you, over vast oceans.

This is my senior year, I intend as your president to be the best for you, whether you are my peer or my junior and I hope that you will do the same. This began as a school for three sisters who only had each other for company. Then other high noble children came in. When the eldest sister was given the school she integrated it more so future students might have a greater understanding of their fellow countrymen. Now this year, we're going to have a greater understanding of students. Welcome again to our school. Sorry my speech was a little long winded, as I said math is my better subject than writing. Now my Vice President, Amika de Rozo will remind you of our conduct."

She traded places with a slightly younger girl, a young dark skinned girl from Kuronami's topics.

"Afternoon. Remember you have your books so I will be brief." She quickly went over the school's rules and conduct. "Remember we're here to help you if you need it and have questions. So please approach us even during meetings you may. Thank you. Alice."

Again trading places with another SC Girl, Alice Meyers, "Howdy! Ahem--" She regained her composure "Good afternoon. I''m Alice Meyeres I'm the Club Activities Officer. Tomorrow during lunch we'll be having clubs advertise so stop by anyone that catches your eyes. Ella." Trading places yet again was another girl "I'm Ella Stockton, I'm Treasure and in charge of the school store. The hours are printed in your manuals so feel free to come by if you are in need of something. If you wish to work in the shop also talk to me and I will get you set up. Back to you, Mis President."

"Thank you. Those are my senior officers of course I have my secretary whom I would be lost without, Yukiko Kotobuki, please take a stand. And of course can't forget our Press Officer, Blanka Burton. Now I'm being told to wrap things up, I'm sure you're hungry, I know I am so welcome again if you'll just in an orderly manner please head straight on down the hall you'll find the Student Commons and dinner will be served." She finished up allowing all students to go on to dinner.

The large hall where students gathered to eat with tables and benches lined up row by row. A que for students to dish up plates of whatever they desired really, light or more filling it was there. This evening special was roast beef with fresh steamed veggies, Tea, water, coffee, wine for the older students. With the exception of the Student Council which had their own special table, all the tables could be eaten by anyone. Doors lead outside the courtyard so students could enjoy outside after eating. Adding to the ambience, chandlers lined the ceiling. in times of old they would have been candle lit but today they're electric lights.

Mona followed the instructions with a smile, Bhuf staying outside of the assembly hall.
Or Gym, depending on the day, apparently.
The speeches were interesting, nice and informative, especially going over the student guidebook. It did not differ too much from what she was used to: There was a large assembly of students, all students, at the beginning of the year to go over rules and facilities again, for the teachers to introduce themselves, as well as the school's Younger Militia Captain and Student Body Speaker, which was, she figured, kind-of like the Student Council President, but not the same.
Maybe an impression she could take with her as they seemed to have a lot of responsibility.
As it stood, she tried to remember all names and faces of the members, grinned at the hearty Howdy.
With the assembly closing, she left the Hall in an orderly fashion, Bhuf joining her side, only to settle outside of the dining hall on the courtyard. Mona was sure, that she would find a friend or two before long.
She, on the other hand, took dinner: Roast beef with steamed veggies, and tea. Elly had been right, I was hungry, I thought as my stomach growled silently, sitting down at one of the tables.
I believe, some girls sat at the other end, but mostly, I was on my lonesome on my end.
Speaking a quick and silent grace, thanking Rhiannon for the meal, I began to eat properly and diligently.
If someone wanted to join me, I'd be available.

It was a fairly long introduction of the Head Mistress and Student Council it was time for dinner. Grabbing a small bit of beef for herself, fresh veggies, water she had her plate set and finding Mona sitting she quickly approached her new roommate. "Mona!" She greeted with a giggle in her voice, excited to see her again. "Isn't this exciting? The Student Council sounds super nice. The food is great too. Now I'm all fired up!"

I smiled at my roomie, Fiore indeed sounding like she was fired up like a boiler on a steam ship.
Swallowing before replying, I told her: "Indeed, they look nice - and the food is very good, too. I definately won't suffer from starvation, that's for sure!"
My words were accompanied by a grin.
"Come, join me, if you want!", I told her with a smile, motioning to the seat opposite to me.

"Gladly!" She uttered another giggle at her remark she wasn't going to starve while here. That's for sure they'd be well fed. Taking a seat Fiore neatly unfold a napkin for her lap and began to eat herself. "How's your pup doing? Hope he's doing well with so many strange people around."

"Oh, as long as no one forces him to anything, he'll be golden.", I told Fiore, "I wager, that he already found a new friend or two, receiving petting by some pretty girl. And all the better if he got the chance to smell some of the girls administering the petting to him... he can be a very cute lad, if he wants to!"
Better not think about how much of an un-cute lad he could be, if someone forced him to do something...
I smiled. "He even has his collar on!"

Hana

Hana sat silently in the hall, pouring over a leather-bound book. In front of her sat a plate, now cold, of roast beef cuts. She had been denied wine on account of her age, a first for her, she was of legal age in her homeland, not that it mattered. The nobility were expected to drink, in fact, every evening since her fourteenth birthday, Hana had been served a cut cigar and glass of Hardskar Brandy. The cigar always went back. After her father's death from lung cancer, Hana couldn't bear smoking, the cigars were still delivered every day, however, and every day they were sent back unsmoked. They soon became a bit of an unofficial gift to the chef in Drayglossop Keep's kitchen from Hana, who adored the red-faced, portly fellow.

Her book was a small, old thing, from her library back home. The second in a set of four volumes, the Chronicles of the Vionnan War, written by a Cunard military officer in 1860 and detailing the course of the War of the Vionnan Coalition. Her family had ruled the Duchy of Saxondale for eight generations before the war but in two battles that centuries-old dominion was snatched from them. First the Frankenlischian general Lord Lynwood had sieged and taken the town of Drayglossop, which Hana now ruled, and then the Riverlander Howard Richmond had beaten her ancestor's army at the Battle of Stowford. To find a Richmond here of all places was just sheer bad luck, it seemed that her countryman didn't know about this awkward part of their joint history, perhaps she simply didn't care.

Still, they weren't there to fight and Hana closed her book with an audible thump before slipping it into the silver-buttoned right pocket of her tunic. Her meal was cold, yes, but that was often how roast beef was served in central Vionna, except, of course, on Sundays. With knife and fork wielded skillfully, she carved and tucked into the bovine flesh, eating cleanly and eloquently.

Mary

Mary had eaten her meal with just as much grace and etiquette as Hana but had taken a seat at a different table, fully aware that Hana would prefer some space. She happily sipped wine, a perk of her age, and scribbled relatively meaningless passages in a colourful notebook. Finishing her glass of wine, she stowed the book away under her arm and came to her feet. A quick glance around the hall betrayed a pair of foreigners happily conversing very close to Mary. Biting the bullet, she walked over to the table where Fiore and another student Mary didn't know sat chatting.

"Hey," Mary greeted, casually and happily, "Mind if I join you?"

Foxtrot-Outside of Redford Academy
A young women rushed in; or, at least, tried to-a novice's robes and dress shoes weren't exactly the best things to run in, and she cursed herself for not wearing sneakers.
She was none other than Marie Ernst Gluck-although most likely, no one in Redford had heard of her.
Up until 16 she had been training to be a nun, and had in fact started her novitiate. Shortly after, though, she went on a vacation to the Free Lands, and had fallen in love with a young lad named Yven. Following that, she had left the covent, although she still kept her robes at the Canoness' insistence(technically she still was a novice, after all).
Upon leaving the covent, she decided to expand her chorion a little, and subsequently accepted an offer to study at Redford.

With all these thoughts in her mind, she burst in through the front door, clutching a rucksack and a suitcase.
"Sorry for being late, what's going on?"

I smiled at Mary, not knowing her name yet, and nodded, swallowing.
"Sure, go ahead!", I told her and motioned to one of the seats close to us, "I'm Mona, that's Fiore." The new arrival didn't look to be too happy to join us, but that would soon go away, I thought. I had seen her with a glass of wine, though, so she was an older student. "We were just talking about pets... I have a Grey Wolf, his name is Bhuf, and he was allowed to come along. I bet, that he's currently outside enjoying the evening sun and maybe even the attention of some of the girls. He's a good lad." I let a beat pass. "Do you have any pets?"

I almost preened at Fiore's compliment of my lad.
"He means the world to me, my oversized-puppy!", I told her with a smile, not at all disappointed, that the most she had had been a goldfish. Sure, it was not exactly the most thrilling of pets, if one asked me, but if she had been happy... "To be honest, I can't sleep without him by my side anymore. One of my roomies back home called me his human-shaped snuggle pillow with automatic brushie function!"
I don't know, what was about Fiore, but talking with her was really relaxing.

Standing in line, Elizabeth waits with a deep little yearning of impatience in her guts. Although keeping herself handled, she could not resist alluring herself to the sight of the evening special cooked and displayed with the quality of an enticing oasis. Even though browsing through her phone helps to level it down, the urge still remained resilient. The closer she got, the more it permeated her internally. It was soon about to let itself out, but thanks to her reaching the end where the stacks of plates were, Elizabeth sighed with almost paramount relief, and it vanished like a ghost.

Now carrying a plate of roast beef with veggies, and a cup of tea, she walks over to a table where a lonely spot was available. Though, when walking, she glanced at the table where some students of the her academic status were sitting at. Slowing down, she simply gazes for a while. However, with one turn, she continues on her chosen path. She then sits down, says her prayers of thanks, and takes one bite of the special. This made her close her eyes, and hum deeply to herself in sonorous note, before taking out her phone once more and pull up a Korean-language movie to watch with earbuds to satisfy her more.

"Igeo hullyunghae," she muttered to herself when chewing another bite. (This is great)

The Campus of Redford Academy
Beyond the gate of the Academy, was a stagecoach made of Bocote Wood & 24k-Gold; Which many could speculate as not the most convenient way of transportation and a targeted assault. However, it was escorted by a Company of Knights in Ceremonial Armor, clearly giving away that the person in question was that of Royalty, but not of the Kuronamian origins. Moments later had followed, with a servant (butler) opening the door of the stagecoach with a young, healthy, and highly endowed lady stepping off the coach, however, she seemed troubled as she was clearly late the commencement ceremony, due to the horses having to make several pitstops along the trip to the Academy. Nevertheless, she had regained the posture, as one would say a mature individual would and move along with their day.

Following the Arrival of Alyssia, her escort had parted her ado and began to make haste to an undisclosed location; Leaving her alone, as she steadily walked onto the Campus of the Academy. In turn, she had noticed students further ahead and made haste, with the response "My sincere apologies, I have had several inconveniences along my travels to the academy, I hope that you'll find kindness in your hearts for my lateness."

Lamina sat through the speech glumly, wondering what she'd gotten herself in for. For the hard-drinking, hard-partying, famously promiscuous princess for whom being told 'no' or 'this is a law/rule' never occurred, this little school was already giving her culture shock. She wanted gin, se wanted a cigarette, and then she wanted more gin...her suitcases would, of course, suffice if the cravings got too hard but for now their was only this wine.
Poor-quality wine, as a matter of fact, compared to what she was used to; then again, most people who tried Celari wine thought it was some form of mead or desert wine due to its beautiful sweetness as it slid down the throat...again, if she really couldn't do without that, her younger brother (her houses resident wine-taster) had ensured that she had some of the best ready-packed. For now, she had the choice of various soft drinks, this 'wine,' or what was in her hip flask...she only hoped that the food, some sort of roast dinner, would make up for it.

Spotting one of her roommates, Hana, apparently absorbed in a book she sat beside her, waiting for her to take her eyes off whatever tome it was she was going through; getting to know her roommates, she decided would be a very good idea...especially if it gave her an opurtunity to dispense with the 'wine.'

She put the wine on the table in front of her dinner and took a few bites, before noticing her companion looking up from her book; she offered a smile.
"I don't suppose," she told her, "You'd care to take this wine off my hands. It's quite dreadful but I wouldn't like it to go to waste...if you don't like it we can always get some empty cups and dip into my private stocks."

Mona had taken over scratching Bhuf's ears; Britta had just nodded to Fatimah's comment - she hadn't really been keen keen on debating that religious reference, as everyone had their own belief and rightfully so. And the essentials were right - they were all equal as humans. She had rather quietly followed the rest of the conversation, until a loud whistle interrupted it, followed by a man, their local driver announcing that it was about time to get to the school.
The gym now served as an assembly hall. Headmistress Chessman spoke up first, then her daughter, Elly-Mae, then Amika de Rozo, then Alice Meyers. Indeed, Britta wasn't entirely clueless about the school's history, having read the handbooks. Other than that, she attentively listened - and, quite truly, she was hungry.
She followed the order to leave the gym in an orderly manner, heading for the dining hall.
Roast beef with steamed veggies was this evening's special. Britta took dinner and a glass of water to it.
She looked around.
Mona had taken a seat quite at the end of the table; Fiore and another girl had joined her. Britta hung on for a second, then she decided to just go over to them. They had appeared quite nice to her so far, and Bhuf had done an amazing job taking more and more of Britta's insecurity. She would need her time to fully get into this, though ... on the other hand, why not just start right now. It would, hopefully, work out somehow in all the time they would spend together - with their common interest in history and admiration for the oversized puppy who enjoyed being in the spotlight surely being a good start.
Integration is a slow process, after all.
She sighed, not being heard from distance, then went on to them, approaching with a grin - a somewhat sheepish grin, but still with a grin.
"Long time no see!" - she said. "May I join you lassies?"

Mary

"Thanks!" Mary replied cheerily. She lowered herself gracefully onto the bench and beamed artificially at her new schoolmates. "I have a pair of cats back home in Callaster. Fuzzy black little mites, my father bade me name them Edward and James after our two most recent Kings."

Hana

"I'll take it," Hana replied in shy, happy surprise, "Thank you!" She smiled and nodded in gratitude, slipped a leather bookmark into her tome and closed it.

Feeling an opportunity to get her predicament off her chest and to get to know her new companion a little better she spoke lightly to Lamina. "Umm... I'm sorry if I was rude earlier. Err, Lamina? You're royal, do you think you could give me some advice?

The Selkie wrote:"He means the world to me, my oversized-puppy!", I told her with a smile, not at all disappointed, that the most she had had been a goldfish.

"Aww that's very sweet. I can see why he means a lot to you. He's not just your pet, he's your family. Like your own baby even! Or maybe just a sibling your fond of. Well I may not have animals at home but I did grow up with three older brothers so you can imagine that's pretty close!" She laughed

Fiore then turned her attention to Britta who approached the table. "Evening. Please take a seat, still some room." She gestured to an open spot.

"Welcome. Better late tonight than later." Elly-Mae greeted her having her sign in on the student register she continued, "If you're hungry, dinner is being served for the next hour in the dining hall just down that way. Feel free. If you need help to your dorm, we're also here."

Amika let out a stretching yawn "Hey you got things handled, think I'd like to go eat, haven't eaten all day."

"Why haven't you eaten?" Elly-Mae asked with concern

"You know me, I can't eat before a speech. I've long had that nightmare about getting up to give a speech and --"

"All right, go eat please before you collapse of hunger! Honestly." She sighed at her friend roommate and fellow council

Given her fellow council was out in the hall to greet late arrivals she took a free seat with Elizabeth. She looked like she was immersed in her phone so she didn't bother her but she was here if she wanted to say hello. Simply taking her portion of beef she cut it nice and even.
