OOC Thread to Sign Up

To Whom it May Concern,
Congratulations,

You have been hereby accepted to attend The Redford Academy for Young Ladies as a student for the upcoming school term starting the First of November 2018. Upon your arrival to the town of Foxtrot via the Cross Continental Express Rail you will be shuttled up to the school wherein you will gather in the school's assembly hall for the opening ceremonies and be officially welcomed to the school by Headmistress Marybeth Chessman and the Student Council. Transports will leave at 4:45 PM and the welcoming ceremony is expected to begin at 5 o'clock so it's important you be on time as afterword you will enjoy your first dinner here. After dinner you may continue to tour the school at your leisure until curfew (see Student Handbook: Schedule) where you are expected to be in your dorm and your classes will officially begin next morning. We are looking forward to your attending and we thank you for choosing our school.

Sincerely,
The Board of Trustees

A glorious spring day, (that's right spring) a small town bracing itself for the arrival of more students from foreign. Some were interested others wanted nothing to do with them. The school rather the same, a school founded on old traditions and values 220 years ago. The school had seen many changes over it's long history, from being a school for the noble elite to allowing the commoner in, to splitting subjects among rich and poor to today now bringing in the first ever group of foreign students! While the odd student here or there may have been overseas over the decades seeing such a big influx was nothing short of something novel.

The student assembly hall was set up, chairs unfolded and dusted off, microphone set up and connected by those in the AV Club. Mary Alice Chessman, a senior and student body president looked over her notes to welcome her new classmates. As did her mother, Head Mistress Chessman. Other of those in the administration were looking over each student transcript to be ready to meet the needs.

When the train arrived in the town unloading it's round of passengers, off stepped Florette "Fiore" Harvenheit, a freshman now attending the school her mom, grandma and great grandma attended at her age. Well in the case of her grand it was the eve of her 15th birthday when she arrived. Taking her bags and joining the group of other students who had already arrived. Most seemed like citizens of the country maybe a few townies among them. She was eager to see who had traveled so far to attend a little old boarding school in the countryside. The Pegasus Mountains could be seen just off on the horizion stretching into what felt like infinity. Still snow capped it made for an inspiring sight she snapped a little photo of them with her phone. "So pretty!" She uttered as if she never seen mountains before but it was interesting given they were essentially in the prairie of Kuronami.

The town was nice looking, quaint with stone roads. A few automobiles drove by but everything seemed within walking distance around here. Signs pointed directions where shops and stores were and rows of houses could also be seen.

"Those attending Redford Academy please set your bags here." A guide called out. "Those wanting to go now can go to the first car those wanting to wait the rest will be departing in the next 20 minutes!" Those that went were already returning students or students who were just out in town for whatever reason. But most of the new students were hanging back to wait for their guide.

Fiore set her luggage in the pile with others. being handed a ticket to writer her name and dorm on it. Dorm 2, hopefully her new dorm mates would be good to her. If she got paired with all older girls she could be bossed around, if she got paired with everyone her age it'd be easy but may be a bit dull. If she got all locals/natives kind of the same she was just as curious about all the students from around the world who would be attending. This was exciting, what a great school year this was going to be!

Fatimah Al Gaddafi arrives

Postby Saranidia » Sun Oct 28, 2018 11:27 am

Fatimah Al Gaddafi, a tall, black haired, bluish black eyed, light brown skinned girl arrived at the school.
Her chauffer placed her bags at the appropriate place
After discreetly tipping the chauffer she greeted everyone she could see with "As-Salaam Alaykum, where I'm from that means peace be to you".

She then signs her name and dorm number.
She is a polyglot(someone who can speak many languages)
She then went to her dormitory.

Foxtrott Railway Station.
To introduce myself, Mona Tairseach of the Tribe of Wexford.
A proud maiden of Silverport, Servant to Ladra, one of His Shieldmaidens, student of the Ais High School and owner of an oversized puppy named Bhuf.
I was sent abroad for a year by my Dad, to broaden my horizon, still using my Mam's name to avoid favouritism. It was highly unlikely, that anyone here would know Colonel Ilia Alhajin, Chief of Staff of the SDF General Command, but better safe then sorry.
I was relatively short for my age, only 1.69 metres, short black hair and green-blue eyes, a relatively unassuming built, not yet developing. I hoped, that this would change a bit with the scenery, but if it didn't... well, I'd figure it out.
I only heard good things about the Redford-Academy and its over two centuries of history, about its splendid exterior and interior, the quality of its teachers. What was the deciding factor, though, I'll freely admit, was Bhuf. They allowed me to take him along.
Others didn't.
Already dressed in the school uniform, the Pinafore Dress, that differed quite a lot from the Ais', which I had earned, I left the train and took in the sights - and Bhuf was more interested in the smells, nearly running off, nearly dragging me along.
A sharp command in Selkie called him to my side, his leash in one hand, my large bag in my other, a large backpack on my back. Both were already marked with my name and Dorm, so I quickly put them to the assembly spot, nearly bumping into a girl with long black hair and blue eyes, which looked around my age. It was Fiore, although I didn't know her name at the time.
"Sorry.", I said and gave her a short, sheepish smile.
I'd take one of the transports over the next minutes, going to the Academy... and what I saw of Foxtrott from the railway station was magnificent! I almost felt as if I was back in Lovely Creetown!
"We're going to like it here, aren't we?", I asked of Bhuf with a small smile.
He gave a small bark in agreement, following as I left the crowd a bit. We didn't need anyone stumbling over my puppy or stepping onto his tail or something...
And so, I waited.
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.
My people are called the Selkie, the nation is usually called the Free Lands in MT-settings. Thanks.

After sending off a message to her family back home that she made it safe, Fiore's attention noticed two new women just arrived. It was possible they were locals but no doubt they were here for the school as well. After tagging her luggage she quickly raced over to say hello. "Good afternoon! You both here to come to Redford? It's great to meet you, I'm Fiore! Ooh what a cute pup! I heard there's a few sheep farms around here I bet he could have fun there!"

"Hi there" Said Fatimah Al-Gaddafi. "by the way I meant a former Libyan Army Captain who is a current Saranidian Army Colonel and the Sheikha of the Ali Clan.

Ignoring the girl, who appeared as if out of thin air and rambled about who her Daddy was (I didn't care), I turned to Fiore, who apparently took a liking to Bhuf.
He reacted by a bit of preening, which made me grin.
"Oh, he sure will try. His Mam was a Shepherd's Dog, after all!", I said with pride, "I'm Mona, that's Bhuf. If you want to pet him, hold out your hand and let him smell it, so that he gets to know you."

She did as advised gently holding out her hand so he could get her scent. she didn't have any pets at home herself, except the odd goldfish over the years so no particularly strange scents other than her perfume and the scones with honey she had with her morning tea.

Foxtrot Railway Station
Travel from Arcadia to Caloris and then take an train to this little and beautiful town surrunded by forests and mountains, was something worth for Amelie Fleur D'Elise. This white haired girl of 17 years decided to give an shot to this school and so try to know more closely the history of Kuronami.

The girl dressed in an exentric school uniform (Le Monde Uniform for girls, the one in the picture of her) was leaving the train that brought her with the rest of the students, she saw the beauty of this little town in where she would live and come during weekends to relax herself from the school. She was now there with her package and reading the notes of her acceptance to the school saying that the students need to be present on the school by 5:00 PM, and so she will be there before it.
For her the part that was gonna be an little difficult it would be the station changes since here was spring and in home it was autumm, but that was nothing to worry about it.

Amelie looked more closely the town from her position and it was an beautiful town, it looked that time made great things for this little city. Her thoughts about the place were interrupted by an guide calling to all students of the school to leave their bags in an specific zone and if they wanted, go to the first vehicle and leave to the academy now.
If it was by her choice, Amelie would be going straight to the vehicle and academy, but she needed to wait for their guide. Letting an sigh out of her mouth, D'Elise went and leaved her package and she was handed an ticket in where she wrote her name and room.
"I hope that I can know my roomates now so we can get to know each other" she said to herself.

This was gonna be an long wait for her, she hoped that the guide will come soon or that she could talk with someone. The last one was an miracle as she noted three girls, one with blue eyes and an long black hair, dressed in the school uniform, went to greet two girls. One with green eyes, short, black short hair and dressed with the uniform already too and bringing an pet too. The other one was an arab girl, that was maybe something strange for her since it was an odd look to see an arab without the dress and clothes that were normal for them.

"Well here goes nothing" Amelie said approaching the group and greeting them. "Hello, mind if I join??"

Bhuf looked at the offered hand and, ever-so-careful, leaned forward, softly sniffing the hand offered to him.
He contemplated the scent for a moment, then sniffed again, only for him to come to a decision: He softly licked the offered hand, showing his acceptance and approval of Fiore.
For me as his owner, that was a good sign about the girl. She seemed nice and Bhuf liked her, too, so she was most likely alright.
And indeed, he was just the cutest lad!

Saranidia wrote:Fatimah then says "Can I pet your dog too? My family have pets like yours."

While that was going on, I looked at Fatimah and replied with a small smile: "As said, offer him your hand to smell so that he knows you. Don't be afraid, he won't bite... usually."
That was a little joke Grey Wolf Owners usually made with foreigners, but maybe it would not translate well.
In any case... I wondered. Fatimah was apparently Arabic or at least something close to it. She was not Kyrenaian, if her words were to be trusted. In any case, if she was really Arabic, then owning canines might be bit problematic, although that mostly concerned Muslims.
In the end, that was not exactly my problem.
I placed a hand on his side to calm him, reassure him, moments before another girl asked, if she could join us.

Bhuf was not a good boy as, while she held out her hand, she stroked him before he had a chance to smell her.
He growled deeply.
Well, talk about a ruined first impression.
I snapped my fingers, which made the growling stop, but the deep, deep sneer, with which he looked at Fatima did not vanish.
"My apologies. You might want to try that at another time again.", I told Fatima, motioning for her to take her hand away if she wanted to keep it. The Wolf-part in Grey Wolf was not for show.

The other one was an arab girl, that was maybe something strange for her since it was an odd look to see an arab without the dress and clothes that were normal for them.

"Well here goes nothing" Amelie said approaching the group and greeting them. "Hello, mind if I join??"

"I don't mind at all, I'm Fatimah Al Gaddafi" said Fatimah Al Gaddafi

I turned to the new arrival, holding the leash a lot tighter and shorter.
She was around our age as well (what a surprise), smiling slightly: "Hi. I'm Mona, that lad here is Bhuf... don't be afraid, he's usually a lot more polite."
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.

For me as his owner, that was a good sign about the girl. She seemed nice and Bhuf liked her, too, so she was most likely alright.
And indeed, he was just the cutest lad!

defend Islam when under threat(both parents)
and one day be Chief of the Ali Clan(my mum)"

"Nice to meet you, my name is Amelie Fleur D'Elise" Amelie said bowing to Fatimah, now here it was the question that could make things go to hell or save her. "Interesting name you have. You are an relative to Muammar Gaddafi or something like that??"

Bhuf was much more glad to meet Fiore, that was for sure!
I grinned as he basically invited her to pet him, which was a small bit of a surprise, but then again, she was a nice girl. It would be fun to hang out with her, if we got together into a dorm.
Smiling, and with the leash tightly in hand, I listened to the conversation...
The only great family tradition of my family I could think of from the top of my head was the Stobhach recipe, a recipe for a stew reaching back centuries, but that was hardly worth mentioning.
But Fatima confirmed to me, that she was a Muslim, which was always nice to know.

Bhuf barked in agreement to that plan.

Keller Harrington

Emmanuel Jones was on the same train with Keller Harrington, as both of them exited the train. "Do I really have to go through with this?" Keller tried not to complain, as Jones was helping her with her bags. "Relax, Harrington. At least, the Leader isn't deliberately sending you to some hellhole. I'm sure he's doing this to make you get a new perspective outside of the nation." Jones said, as she gave her the school uniform, which has been neatly folded for her. "I'm sure, since I annoyed him during his meeting, he's sending me here to give ourselves space, until he ignores me."

"Don't say that! Look, this is supposed to be a peaceful school environment. When you get to the school, make sure you're dressed in the school uniform. Make friends. Don't act like this is supposed to make you feel weak. All of the information about your schedule and what not is in your stuff. Now, if you can excuse me, I'm getting myself a coffee." Jones said, before departing, leaving Keller alone. She might as well attempt to find the guides to get her to the Redford Academy. As she walked down the station, she went looking for the guides and possibly some other students who were attending the academy, also.

My overall account that I use for P2TM and even for international roleplaying! MNM is a mysterious and extremely dangerous dictatorship filled with supernatural oddities, demons, militarized soldiers everywhere, and a misanthropic nihilistic dictator who doesn't give a damn. It's basically if the SCP Foundation got mixed with 1984.

"Well..." she thought about it a moment. "I guess it's just one of those family traditions. My great grandmother was the first to attend in my family, then my grandmother then my mother and now me. I suspect if I have a daughter I'd hope she'd want to attend too."

She went ahead and started to gently pet Bhuf. "So cute. Süßer Welpe" She did take a liking to him. "Oooh you're from the Freelands! That's pretty neat! This town is very nice from what I've been told, good shops, a nice tavern to eat. I'm looking forward to coming down here on days off and the weekends too. Glad you chose Kuronami, we're a nice bunch here!"

Foxtrott Railway Station, Foxtrott, Empire of Kuronami
It took her some time to realize she had made it. In fact, it had taken her the entire span of time between receiving the letter that confirmed her acceptance from the Board of Truestees of the Redford Academy for Young Ladies, over the preparation - paperwork and stuff -, the endless flight from Lillorainen to Kuronami, another endless, but very nice train ride through Kuronami's countrysides, to the arrival at the Foxtrott Railway Station right in this very moment.
Britta Morgenthau had made it.
Generally described as cute rather than hot, Britta had just reached 173 centimeters of height, dark blonde hair down to her shoulders, brown, almost dark eyes and a rather skinny figure. She had a way of smiling that many of her fellow students, boys and girls alike, characterized as unforgettable - just cute and innocent, polite and modest.
When she showed it, that is.
She was 17 years old and was the youngest daughter of a marriage couple of upper middle-class who, in cooperation with some other co-owners, ran Lengerich Electronics Limited, one of the larger IT companies of the Lillöer-Archipelago. Her home city was Ladenburg, a megapolis in the west of Elverholm Island; yet, she had spent the last six years in a boarding school, in a town named Vartrup, in the mountains of the State of Rigesöer. She was excellent at languages, speeking multiple of them at a reasonable level, and also much interested in History - aside from that, she was a keen sportswoman, especially when it came to volleyball, endurance run, target shooting (as a Lillo ... how unexpected), and horse riding.
With all that, her life couldn't have been better ... until things had happened.
Despite some tremendously unfortunate incidents, she had managed to apply for attending the Academy, and to be accepted. In fact, she had always been a traveller, being used to always switching location every now and then, or at least being ready to, never actually persistently making a place her home, not even in Vartrup, and even less in the place she had grown up in. Why so? Who knows ...
This was yet another new place, nicely far away from all that circus back ... 'home', for a given definition of the term. A new beginning.
When she disembarked, heading for the gathering places where luggage was supposed to be dropped off, she noticed that she was not the only girl who had already gotten into her Pinafore Dress, the school uniform that looked quite different from the dark-blue and black coloring of her old one (many private schools had uniforms in Lillorainen, whereas public ones did not).
Foxtrott indeed looked nice, as she noticed, giving the town a few glances. Much nicer than Vartrup.
Another girl, black-haired and, from distance, a bit shorter than Britta, who had almost run into yet another one, had brought a pet, a cute puppy - an oversized one, yes, but still a puppy. He seemed to enjoy this place just as much as the girl he was accompanying did.
Britta dropped her luggage at the assembly spot. Some girl - Fatimah Al-Gaddafi, as her name turned out to be - was interested in the puppy, too.
For a second, Britta considered just joining in ... then, another girl, obviously a local, spoke up, introducing herself as Fiore. The puppy got introduced by her owner as Bhuf.
Now, Britta just approached the round of girls, smiling sheepishly and giving them all a small wave. "Good day everyone" - she said, not loudly, but clearly. "I take that you all are here for Redford, right? I'm Britta, Britta Morgenthau."
She looked down onto Bhuf, who seemed to have fun for ten, still smiling.
Since Lillorainen's geography is currently being overhauled a 'tiny' bit, most information on it posted before December 12, 2018, is not entirely reliable anymore. Until there's a new, proper factfile, everything you might need to know can be found here. Thank you. #RetconOfDoom (Very late update, 2020/08/30 - it's still going on ...)

Bhuf barked in agreement to that plan.

"Me neither. I have heard very great things about this school and when they proposed to me the idea of come I couldn't refuse to such sweet offer" Amelie said smiling as she heard why Mona was here, she would love to know Silverport or any other city of the Freelands soon after this. But that would be for other time.

"I'm sure that the town will be wonderful once we have the chance to leave the building, although I'm more interested in go and know the forest, it's beautiful" and indeed it was, she would take the chance of leave the school during weekend to know the forest first.

Looking to the picture that Fatimah found, she remembered that photo and the relation between Mandela and Gaddafi during that time. She couldn't deny the good sides of him, but so the bad ones.

"Well I remember that hug, Mandela and Gaddafi relations were good and both Libya and South Africa were having good relations back there" she said looking to it and then to Fatimah.
