Well, there were some strange rebellions indeed, but not all the time.

The most recent was 5 nations seceding from the Uzbek Khanate.

For two great blobs, yes.

Canada and Haiti (that sky blue blob in Central America) are for now the only two nations that have won their independence from colonial powers.

Culturally, they are so weird.

Haiti is mainly Portuguese

Canada is mostly Polish with visible Nepali and Japanese minorities.

Lucky nations were turned off = Yes

An unholy alliance formed = Yes, the one between Protestant Scandinavia, Orthodox Russia and Sunni Ottomans (with their greatest achievements being 4 or 5 partitions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth). Another one is between Reformed England, Shinto Japan and Sikh Canada (who was not a British colony but an amalgamation of three Polish-Lithuanian, one Nepali and one Japanese colonies)

All h*ll broke loose thanks to rapid expansion = Also yes, everyone was very expansive.

Meant to state "All h*ll broke loose thanks to rebellions caused by rapid expansion"
but after reading that you played 9 different nations the current state of the map makes a lot more sense.

You see all that yellow in Newfoundland, Central America, South America, Indonesia and New Zealand?

That's Scotland and I did not play them at all.

Like I said, I am surprised to see more blobs than I expected. I never imagined Scotland as this powerful.

I can only imagine their alliance with Portugal and Brittany (two other colonial powers) and the fact that all three hate Castille has something to do with this great Scotland.

Scandinavia's great. They have all of Scandinavia, Estonia, parts of Scotland and Iceland. They just need Greenland now.
