It's the equivalent of the month of October in the Demonic Calendar, & with it comes the important holiday for all Demons in the Demon Empire: the Heritage Festival. During this celebration of their kind's birth, Demons & other such allied civilizations or peoples come together to throw grand parties & festivals, with one of the most grand being in Parfuhmerie — their leader Sekka Verndara spares no expense in ensuring that his celebration will be the most wonderful among all demon-populated locations, in order to impress future or present trading partners & to further build up the reputation of his city.
As he had done last time, Sekka has decided to have the festival in Parfuhmerie be open to all civilizations in the multiverse that wish to come by & celebrate. Whether these be visitors merchants from other civilizations, important political figures, or even ordinary citizens, they shall all be welcomed to partake in these important festivities with Parfuhmerie, alongside the native Demons, Psytrines, & countless other peoples. Of course, it is no party celebrating a primordial dragon of chaos without some mild shenanigans — but let's hope that he's in a good mood for the day, & that he won't cause any disasters.
Rules & Notes
- 1. Obviously, obey site rules, no god-roleplaying (in the usual definition — coming in as a deity is just fine), & no metagaming to your advantage. Expect ending up worse off if you try. Lampshading or making offhanded fun of god roleplay & metagaming is allowed.
2. To reiterate, any nation is permitted. Future tech so advanced you can solve all of my problems in the blink of an eye? Sure, but the creator deity won't be letting you actually solve all of my problems. Perfectly normal Christian modern tech? Come right in, no questions asked. A nation of paladins that would purge my demonic butt? You'd get in anyway, boyo. Likewise, ridiculously OP, bizarre, or exotic characters are allowed in so long as they are polite in roleplay (e.g. no god-roleplaying). Seeing as I'll be pretty permissive, don't bother asking if you can send this or that person or if your ___ nation can join. When I slapped on OpenToAll in my title, I did mean it (heck I'd accept even those who have made a name for themselves as god/ridiculous roleplayers so long as they're willing to try to be better roleplayers). The FanTechSetting tag is just so people know what they'll be dealing with if they come in... but I've removed it now, since it seems to have caused confusion.
3. If you have a suggestion as to what I can add to make this roleplay better, do say so politely.
4. Violence IC is allowed if both players agree, but note that assassins will shut it down if it does not occur in a bar.
5. Shwe Tu Colony is a Renaissance-era Fantasy-tech civilization whose magical ability is highly advanced.
6. For all but the last application, the character(s) you signed up will be known to be coming by the Parfuhmerians.
7. The roleplay is occurring underground, & the most practical way to enter is through the many portals placed in the mall.
8. Most or all of my insofar named fantasy-tech characters will definitely be present (leaders, Gesh'rigu, assassins, Psytrine Domeses, etc...) & others will be noted as existing as people request/I see fit.
Applications
If you sign up with the one below, your character or group will not be known to be attending. This is mostly here in case someone wants to spice things up just a little, but chances are, the group probably won't end up doing much since this is a religious festival in a world where the gods do exist, most Parfuhmerians undergo some combat training, & magic. Do note that this group does not necessarily have to be an official government's army or even be supported by any government.
Heritage in this case has a few meanings: the past, "traditional brand or product regarded as emblematic of fine craftsmanship," "property that is or may be inherited," & culture. Likewise, Demons has a few other connotations: some folk are literal demons, "a forceful, fierce, or skillful performer of a specified activity" (admittedly I have never heard of this usage), & others have their own demons to hide. So, from a combination of three words, there's several themes that service the larger theme of the heritage of demons: there's one character's heritage cooking & their own demonic debauchery & mischief later; discovering the heritage of another's terrible demons of personality traits; the heritage of the actual demons; & the occasional inheritance & usage of characters from prior works.
