I would like to congratulate and thank the Secretary of State for RP & Games for creating this thread.

The creation of this thread is the first step in the important process of establishing a successful RP culture within the British Commonwealth of Free States.

Every citizen of the Free States is automatically a member of the legislative body, as the Charter of the Commonwealth states. Therefore, I invite every citizen to contribute to the discussion on this thread and hopefully we can all become more familiar with one another.

Shackley, would it be possible to change the name of this thread to the Assembly of the Commonwealth? To keep in line with the aforementioned Charter.

Regal Windsor
Prime Minister

Honourable members,

I ask if the Bavarian Confederation is allowed to place an order of motion to present a proposal for the house to be voted upon. The Bavarian confederation wishes to present the following:

Proposal 'Education service and Commonwealth quality regulatory act' (Shortened: Education act)

I urge members of the House who sit in the WA to join me in voting FOR the WA Ban on Capital Punishment. Capital Punishment is not only cruel, but is contrary to all human decency. Surely the point of our justice systems is to allow criminals to serve their sentence and then, if possible, reenter the world as a productive member of society?

Yes you may. I would encourage you to take up this issue with our Prime Minister, Regal Windsor. As Prime Minister he is in charge of all voting and procedures that come with that. I'm Happy to see some legislation starting to be drafted and proposed!

I ask The Right Honourable member to present his proposal to the House. Other members are invited to present supporting or opposing arguments within seven days. A vote will be organised once members have had a chance to debate the proposal.

I thank the Right Honorable Prime Minister for presenting these Oaths to the Assembly. The Home Secretary has done a fantastic job and I believe both Oaths to be fit for purpose. I invite other members of the house to share their thoughts.

This chamber is now the House of Commons of the Empire of Great Britain.

I propose we elect a Speaker as soon as possible.

Please announce your candidacy if you are interested in ruining.

I'd also suggest that the speaker not be a member of the cabinet.

I agree with my honorable friend, the Home Secretary.

A non-Cabinet member would be the most suitable as Speaker.

Right Honourable Members,

I ask you to be prepared to confirm the appointment of an Ambassador imminently. I am expecting to announce a candidate for the Ambassador to Iran in keeping with the terms of the Treaty of Mutual Cooperation.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker

I am pleased to see progress being made in accordance to our treaty with Iran. The appointment of an ambassador should strengthen our ties with the region. I wish him luck with his future diplomatic work.
I trust that legislative work follows this announcement, and I look forward to it's passage through the House.

I accept your motion mister Home Secretary and would ask that this vote go ahead as soon as possible. It would also be a good opportunity for the candidate to campaign a little as to why he should be elected ambassador to Iran.

Right Honourable Members,

I applaud your enthusiasm to see this business done as quickly and efficiently as possible. However, I must clarify the language surrounding the appointment of ambassadors.

• Ambassadors are not elected, they are nominated by HIM Government and the appointment is either CONFIRMED or REJECTED by the House of Commons.
• Ambassadorial nominees do not campaign for the role, they must answer QUESTIONS asked by members of the House of Commons.

I hope this is useful going forward.

Right honourable Home Secretary,
I can only apologise for my mistake in using such language around the appointment of an ambassador. I was not aware of these guidelines and as I'm still adjusting to my new role so I perhaps was too impulsive in my replies. Perhaps a writing of a document containing our regions official guidelines for an ambassadorial role and there appointment could be discussed in order to prevent such misunderstandings in the future?
Thank you
