The Asgar-Rome Space Exploration program, or to give it its more formal name A.R.S.E., was initially devised 150 years ago by the leaders of the two namesake nations: Asgareth and Romae in Perpetuum. It would not be deployed until some 40 years later, during the Second Red War.
Anticipating that the next war would be in space, Asgareth and Rome invested a large amount of resources, time and manpower, in the development of interstellar weaponry, anti-gravity plating and hydroponics allowing ships to independently sustain crews for years.
Swiftly, A.R.S.E. established itself as a proficient leader in space tech, and began to develop technology well beyond conceived limitations. It took the best part of a century, but eventually A.R.S.E. finally developed faster than lightspeed travel. The first warp ship is even now about to depart from the secret A.R.S.E. asteroid base at the edge of the solar system
It eventually became apparent, however, that fighting nations that happened to reside in the same planet, from outside of said planet, was a silly idea. In response, the militaries of Asgareth and Rome simultaneously announced an intention to cut space spending. Facing significant cuts, A.R.S.E. was forced to appeal to other nations to assist in funding. In exchange, it promised to allow a number of crew members from other nation to join the A.R.S.E. Inveniemus’s maiden voyage.
And now, it was time for A.R.S.E. to travel further than it ever had gone before. The only question remained: who would be brave enough to make up the crew?
- Sovereign Charter only. However, if you want to join the roleplay, you are more than welcome to join the region.
- The Roleplay is set 100 years in the future- it encompasses the use of FTL (faster than light) tech.
- Two characters are permitted per member. Please note that there is a serious risk of death: it is space after all. Main characters will die, and we intend to offer the opportunity to introduce fresh characters as the roleplay advances, so as to provide newcomers and old timers another chance to jump on. Think of it as Game of Thrones meets the dark, unforgiving nature of Space.
- Please use the out of character sign up sheet. Once you’ve signed up, you’re good to go.
- One post per week please. The posts don’t need to be novellas (and certainly not Red Weather length), but please put some effort in.
- Have fun.
