Hey, Nortend, I didn't see your post when I made mine. I'm sorry. Is my post still acceptable, or do you want us to stop dining? I thought that we might have a bit more time at the luncheon, but if you want to continue the story, I'll just delete my post.

Well, it was stated that it was served a la russe, but given my own lacklustre French... keep in mind civet de lievre is actually jugged hare, not civet the animal, though the dish can be called civet, given civet is a form of stew which is what jugged hare is. In any case, let's not fuss too much on specifics.

Oh dear. Apart from the trouble of fixing various posts to conform with the idea of a mess hall-type restaurant with one big central table, I find the very idea of one objectionable (too harsh?) for RP purposes -- far less sense for interaction or intimacy (or isolation, for good and bad) if the mess-hall idea prevails, as you can easily imagine.

Hmm, yes I do agree actually now. I suppose single tables is a better idea, now that I think about it.

It seems that some people have taken the luncheon to be of multiple separate tables, whilst some have taken it to be a single table. Persuaded by Dahon's argument, the form is of separate tables, all clustered however in the same general area.

From the posts, I've garnered that.

Miss Akira Sengoku and Miss Sirin Allen are together
Princess Theresa is next to Prince Nuallan
Master David Dwarf is on his own, but near Prince Nuallan's table
Mr Peter Smith is with Mr Boleslaw

@Lux Pulchrae: Could we please skip the check-in part? Have Lord Altoneuvo be seated in the restaurant. It seems we're on the 'plat secondaire', or second course, which is civet de livre and terrine de hareng (jugged hare stew and terrine of herring).
