The Dominion of Purgatio has maintained a long-standing tradition of international and diplomatic isolationism since its establishment in 1987, with little to no immigration or tourism permitted into the Dominion, but on 30 June 2017, Foreign Secretary Alain De Corday implemented a radical programme, with the intent of taking the first, baby steps in Purgatio gradually opening up, both economically and culturally, to the outside world. The proposed reform package, entitled the ‘Purgation International Academy’, was to establish a ‘Visiting Students Programme’ for foreign students aged 16 to 21 to live and study in the Dominion of Purgatio for a year, enjoying a country-wide tour, where students will have an exclusive opportunity to learn and experience Purgatio’s rich and vibrant history and culture, indulging first-hand in Purgatio’s unique style of government and radical and ambitious policy projects.

The Purgation Government has spent a lavish sum constructing and redecorating a beautiful school building, with top-class accommodations for any interested foreign students, right in Purgatio’s capital city of Ravaliér, deep in the heart of the Montfaucon District, with high-quality security services and guaranteed protection of the Purgation police force.

Students can look forward to a sumptuous banquet at the beautiful and elegant Grand Hall of the Palace of our Magnificus Dominus, witness an expansive military parade from the view of the Palace balcony, and will be taken to visit numerous key landmarks of the Dominion which have never been shown before to any foreign nationals – the headquarters of the Purgation National League (PNL), the Purgation Institute of Genetic Cleanliness (PIGC), the famous Auspex Operandi central DNA database, the central office of the PICOS internal security force, Purgatio’s largest ‘liquidation through labour’ facilities in Ravaliér, state-of-the-art data-centres of the Purgation Intelligence Agency (PIA), the research centre for our ambitious Project Erinyes bioweapons programme, the Aumale-Talleyrand Gifted Academy of Excellence, and so much more! Students will travel in groups, accompanied at all times by representatives from the Foreign Office and Home Office, who will be on hand to answer any and all questions students may have regarding our landmarks and prominent sites. The Foreign Office hopes that, through this programme, it can raise Purgatio’s international stature by heightening global awareness regarding Purgatio’s culture, history and administrative politics and ambitious programmes, and learn more about Purgatio's national philosophy of Mandatum Est.

The Foreign Office assures that all students will be given full and blanket diplomatic immunity, from arrests or prosecution of any kind. However, serious and grave violations of Purgation law will necessitate the revocation of visas and repatriation. Other than that, the Purgation Foreign Office invites any and all interested students aged 16 to 21 to apply and not miss this exclusive opportunity to immerse themselves in a unique and vibrant country guaranteed to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
