Greater Oceanian Union gears up for invasion of Drazovo after Standard Oil fields seizes

The Greater Oceanian Union is making preparations to invade the disputed territories of the Republic of Drazovo, following the deaths of Oceanian military contractors who were tasked with protecting Oceanian oil fields in the nation. Prime Minister Vinh Huyhn announced the intention to invade after the Oceanian Parliament voted on the matter earlier in the afternoon in response to the attacks, which are believed to have happened in the past two to three days. The attack that triggered the decision was carried out by the self proclaimed Emirate of Drazovo, a breakaway state in the Drazovan Civil War that is located in the two northwest provinces of the country.

The Emirate of Drazovo seized a Oceanian Standard Oil facility in the Stalaci province, and after a firefight with security contractors from Oceania, executed the survivors. Images of the attack were distributed by the official Emirate social media accounts, and soon reached Oceanian news networks. After hearing news of the attacks, the Oceanian government, which had already been monitoring the nation of Drazovo and the situation in its Civil War, decided to act and convened to make a decision on whether the Greater Oceanian Armed Forces would be involved or not. In the end, the verdict was a resounding yes. The two largest parties in Parliament, the Tory Party and the Centrist League, both voted to intervene and stabilize the situation in Drazovo, with the Democratic Socialist Party being the only major one to oppose the motion.

It's unknown where the invasion will be targeted at, but according to the GOAF, Oceania may attempt to "establish a tributary government over the entire island". According to the press conference led by Vinh Huyhn, the Republic of Drazovo is not strong enough to control its own borders and needs to be replaced with a government that can handle its job of providing security to its people. Further details have not been announced, but Huyhn ensured media that the invasion will begin in a "timely" manner and that both the Emirate of Drazovo and the National Bolshevik Party of Drazovo will be targeted in the campaign.

Sitkan Volunteers Rescue Hostages in Drazovo

A group of Sitkan militiamen volunteering for the Republican government in Drazovo has reportedly rescued several hostages from a compound near the capital city of Balasica.

The rescue operation took place at night in the wake of a mostly failed bombardment of the NazBol-held city by Republican forces, and resulted in the retrieval of at least one dozen civilians from a rebel facility. Three of them are believed to be foreign nationals. Further details about the location of the compound, the identity of the hostages, and the Sitkans involved are sparse do to the sensitivity of the ongoing conflict.

We have yet to receive confirmation of this news from Drazovan media outlets, but regardless of its truth, the willingness of Sitkan syndicalists to support the legitimate government in Drazovo against an authoritarian Marxist uprising has helped solidify Sitka's image as a democratic, fair nation despite its socialist government.
