Quick question I should have asked before. Is your capital even accessible by water? If not, I'll arrive by something else besides a royal barge.

I guess you don't want to barge in like that if the capital isn't coastal ;U. Anyways, I'll probably have my guy come in soon.

You can arrive at a coastal city, like Darinda or Qeynelm, and then take a carriage into Bawe-Arode through the Kodamas.

Done. We can provide our own land based transportation from the barge, though. Will be posting soon.

I'll do the same. We're currently stretched resources-wise so we'll take a not-so-royal boat to one of the coastal cities and then ride our horses from there.

With permission, I will have my ten people do something similar, although they will ride horses they brought with them themselves.

... so I'm planning on posting three separate apps, as three separate delegations from three separate nations (well, one is more a stateless actor only loosely affiliated with the prime mover in this here story, and another app concerns fleeing royals) will in due course arrive for shenanigans, 800 being the year of the founding of this particular nation. Please wait warmly as I... mot juste something something.

(Or I fail to find that bloody mot juste and just not post after this. Also possible.)

That sounds very interesting. Especially the fleeing royals.
I take, that they would be looking for aid to get back onto their thrones? If so, then maybe my warlord and they could arrange something, making them get their thrones back and getting the glorious reputation of Selkie Light and Medium Cavalry enter the Middle Ages?
(Which are known to historians as the Dark Ages, but not for the lack of candles.)

EDIT: Just to clarify, the two of them are speaking their own language all the time and while their conversation is serious, it's more of an intellectual game. They don't plan on either of that, as the old sod said: They are there to find friends, trading partners and other such things, not to plunder the city.

In view of certain difficulties (let's say I get bogged down in names a heckuva lot) will this do for now?

Character Information:

Name: Homura
Noble House (if any): None. (formerly with Yakumo)
Title (if any): None, though she will introduce herself as "Homura of the Three Queendoms" to signify her allegiance. (formerly Yakumo Homura-shiina-mijju)
Nation/Country: A stateless actor in the strict sense, as the state she has pledged allegiance to has not yet been formed. (And no guarantee one will take form, IC-wise.)
Appearance: This once she attends the party, except she has far shorter hair; she'd also look a decade older than her 30 years, despite makeup). Upon arriving at the Kodamas, she will be donning an amazing technicolor dreamcoata multicoloured coat.
Personality: A woman of few words and even fewer gestures, at least in public. Unadorned in her tastes without maligning those whose tastes differ from hers. Independent and self-reliant, while expecting others to be the same as her. Elegant, even refined, despite her toned-down appearance.
Languages Spoken: She can speak the major languages of her homeland more or less fluently. As a professing Ethiopian Christian, she also has a good command of Ge'ez. What she doesn't have an especially good command of is "the common speech" -- she can understand it and speak short sentences, but is not confident in her intelligibility, and so would prefer to speak through an interpreter.

Entourage Information:

Other Guests coming with your character:
Oye Inoki (45), kinsman of the above, and like Homura a votary of the faith of Frumentius. He will serve as the primary interpreter, translator, and scribe for this retinue for the duration of the feast.
Misha (8), Homura's daughter. (Technically adopted daughter, not that it'll be raised.)
Entourage coming with your character:
  • Translators: 3
  • Servants: 5
  • Attachés: 1
  • Maidservants: 0
  • Butlers: 0
  • Guards: 10
  • Entertainers: 0
  • Other:

Method of transport to Taimansia: A fleet of six ships, then a herd of kiang.

Nation Information:

Full Name of Nation: Queendom of Kaname
Government Type: absolute monarchy
Leader: Kanamekami Kaname Madoka
National Language(s): None, though Nihongo is the predominant language.
National Religion(s): None, though Buddhism is predominant.
Technology Level of Nation: PT
Capital: Shinohara
Why does your nation want to attend this feast? The usual reasons: trade and diplomacy. Which are really a cover for the real reason, though they'll all act politely enough: to apprehend a certain group of fleeing former royals and remaining loyal courtiers.

Personal Information:

Do you agree to abide by the rules? Yes.
Offer a sample RP link: Here.

The other two... will be aboard in due course. I just have to resolve a few... annoying problems first.

Character Information:

Name: Aceus
Noble House (if any): Elurion
Title (if any): His Royal Majesty, By the Grace of the Valar and Will of the People, King over all Kings of Danceria, Yggdrasilia, Arnor, Gondor, Rohan, Harad, and Rhun; Protector of the Free Peoples of Arda; Champion of the Gods and Bearer of the Dragon's Mantle; Grand Duke of Orthanc; Lord of the Vales and Wood, Son under the Son, Heir of the Heroes of Old, ect.
Nation/Country: The United Kingdoms of Danceria
Appearance: Slap green eyes on him and badda-bing
Personality: Currently aloof, attempting to act a cool and collected king since the recent murders of his parents, and being rushed to be coronated himself. He's still reeling from the responsibilities, and is an average young man. He knows he can lead, he wants to lead...but the circumstances that made him King are currently the worst way he would think possible to become king.

Yet here he is now, being king, trying to be formal yet casual at the same time.
Languages Spoken: English, Sindarin, Spanish

Entourage Information:

Other Guests coming with your character: Only the ancillary entourage, who may make minimal interactions.
Entourage coming with your character:

  • Attachés: 2, usually to aid the translators in securing lucrative business opportunities

Method of transport to Taimansia: Aeroplane, specifically a Bombadier Global 7000 GovJet

Nation Information:

Full Name of Nation: The United Kingdoms of Danceria, Yggdrasilia

Capital: Yggdrasilia, City of
Why does your nation want to attend this feast? His Majesty needs to get out more to find a potential consort for the newly crowned king, and to maintain cordial relations with the outside world.

Personal Information:

Do you agree to abide by the rules? I do so solemnly swear I will be up to no good.
Please write a short IC passage of two paragraphs on any topic: "I am terribly sorry I'm late. Seems recently that we've been arriving fashionably late to these sort of events...something as King I will try to limit. ...Why there are so many guards with the attaches? Well, the guards have to do something, I am more than capable of defending myself. Certainly! I have been drilled as a Pathfinder for the Dancerian Armed Forces. Got my hands nice and dirty, and can handle myself well with a shovel. And guns too, if the situation demands itself."

"Of course, I'm somehow more dependent yet less...do you understand my meaning? On one hand, a King is to be the captain of the vessel of state. One who lets the crew members excel to their talents, and orchestrate a safe journey. Yet he needs to rely upon an endless amount of people to actually coordinate, to step in and settle disputes...but in the end, a king is but a man with greater responsibility..."

"...Is it wrong for me not to want to be king? To live the life of youth a little longer? To carouse and cavort? To be...to be a man before being a King? Forgive me if I ramble. I have made the mood a lot more dour...perhaps there may be dancing..."

"Well, the last few balls I attended, the dancing halls were more standing halls. Some movement, some dance, a sashay and sway to drive these cares away...and perhaps, dear lady, if I have not bored you with my prattling, you may join me?"

*GovJet is any private jet used by members of Government or of the Nobles and Peerage of Danceria for business envoys.

I'll just rent some of the local horses then. Tone down our and out Fan Tech with maybe magic maybe mundane.

There will be direct references to various works of fantasy, as my nation is inspired by them. Magic will be mentioned, but no doubt scoffed by various courtiers as absent proof is absent.
