Hello, hallo, hullo all to this RP of mine and Austria-Bohemia-Hungary's. As you can tell by the post and the app above, this is a two-parter RP, with the first part consisting of a day of celebration and remembrance that celebrates the seventieth anniversary of the end of the Second Neuroi War, being held in the heart of Berlin.
Balls are a funny thing for the upper class. Besides a high-society chance to be seen by others in high-society, it's a place to form friendships, alliances, relationships, and children if you feel like sneaking off for some bedroom fading-to-black, or just to mingle. Or break friendships, alliances, and relationships - but hopefully not children!
Of course, things don't stay peaceful for long, as Berlin will soon find itself attacked by enemies from beyond a Gate - much like in the light novel this is based on, the world beyond the Gate is dominated by a totalitarian, monarchist, patriarchial Rome analogue, filled almost as much with elves, dwarves, dragons, and monsters as humans. Two big differences will there be between the canon of GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought There and this RP. Firstly, while the initial attack will be fended off handily, the 'Rome' beyond the Gate will not be the backwards, primitive, and feeble state of canon. It will be competent, it will be able to put up a real fight, and it will have technology. Not on the level of MT - think interwar-era tech mixed with the Clanker and Darwinist constructions of the Leviathan book series by Scott Westerfeld (which I highly recommend), but not literal Roman-era equipment either. Secondly, the magic of those beyond the Gate will be more powerful, more versatile, and more common. Balance, you know.
You don't have to participate in the inevitable war that follows the attack if you don't want to, however. You and your delegates could just be here for the party, and that's perfectly fine.
The IC's starting point is planned to be time of the ball's start, late at night on the 9th of May, 2018.
And of course, these things need...
IC is up!
